Greetings Roleplayers, and welcome to the Lord of the Craft: Anthos
In the following thread you will be able to discover exactly what Anthos is, and some important things to keep in mind.
I'd just like to take a moment to say a huge thanks to Alan for organising the event that you just participated in (if you were on) and to the entire build team for their countless hours of work.
The Aim and Development
Our number one aim with the Lord of the Craft 3.0 has been to make the perfect Realm for you to roleplay in - hence why we've been working on it since August 2012. Everything about Anthos has been designed by us to create the very best experience for you - this involved us taking into account the good aspects of both of our previous worlds (Aegis and Asulon) and merging them together to create the ideal Realm for you.
Development began slowly back in August, with mainly only discussion going on in Skype chats - before eventually it resulted in a thread being created and our fantastic ex-Head Administrator shiftnative heading onto WorldPainter to create the world's landmass and beauty. Since then it simply spiralled. More and more people became involved with development, and build teams grew very large indeed. Everyone who has worked on Anthos has had one common goal - to make it simply perfect.
Indeed, whilst our primary aim has been to make the Realm perfect for you to roleplay in, there is also numerous secondary aims that we have had. One such is making Anthos player-friendly - this means you don't need to travel for an hour to get from one city to the other, instead you are able to do it in a reasonable amount of time. You also will be able to build your own homes (in some areas (after launch)) without having to run around searching for the region owner.
With Anthos, we wanted to return to the true feel of the Lord of the Craft - a world which is effected by your actions, and we intend on doing so.
So, we really do hope that with Anthos we have successfully achieved these aims - and if we haven't, then please do help us achieve them by providing honest feedback!

The World
In Anthos, everywhere is different. There's no "common look". Some areas are snowier than the desert of Antarctica, and others as hot as the desert of the Sahara. You will be blown away by the amount of time and effort that the build team has put into the Realm, it really is a fantastic job that they have done.
Initially, the entire world will be 'regioned'. This means that you can't actually build anywhere you don't have the correct permissions from (excluding the Wilds), however as the map is further developed on we will slowly begin to increase the amount of free-land available, making large areas of land available for free-construction on the mainland. Whilst this land is technically free-land, it will still be under a nations own jurisdiction, meaning it'd be smartest if you asked permission to build before you did - or you might end up with a few angry orcs at your door!
Resources are based on the areas that they are in. Some areas have very little of one type of resource but are abundant in another. Mining will be developed into a much more adventure-like system, with mines being located in a separate world that you are teleported to upon entering a mine. These mines will be giant chasms, filled with ores - but also dangerous beasts. The more expensive the ore within the mine, the deeper the mine is - and the deeper the mine is, the more dangerous it becomes.

Things to Remember
When we arrive, and when you play in Anthos there's some things that you really need to keep in mind!
- The world will not remain regioned forever. Initially, yes - we've regioned it all (except the wilds), however as you begin to settle more into the land you will begin to see new areas open up that aren't regioned, and are free for you to go into and to build in.
- Resource gathering at initial launch will indeed be quite limited - however, again as the time progresses more and more mines will be made and fishing boats will be created to take you out to sea to catch some fish!
- You're not staying here for only a short while (like we were in Kalos and Elysium) - we intend on remaining in Anthos indefinitely so don't just mess around wildly - roleplay fully.
- Want permissions to the land? Speak to it's owner - not the GM team.

So, without further ado - welcome, to Anthos.
