Getting Started - Guide

Getting started with your Lord of the Craft experience!
Greetings new player, congratulations on your accepted application and welcome to Lord of the Craft! We’re very happy to have you here on our server and hope you enjoy your time here, this guide will seek to assist you with your introduction onto Lord of the Craft, and some of the things which you can do to make your experience the best it can be!

Find Roleplay
The first thing you’ll likely want to do on the server is to find somebody to roleplay with! The most common places to find roleplay on the server are the capital cities of each race. Head to these roleplay hubs by following the signs, though maybe you’ll find some roleplay on the roads while you’re making your way there!

Re-read the rules!
The rules are there for a reason - to keep the server a wholesome and pleasant place to be while also keeping the game experience fair and fun. There are some rules which are easily forgotten; re-reading the rules is helpful because you do not want to be caught off guard. Not knowing something was against the rules is not an excuse!

Stay Calm and Composed
You will be playing and inevitably competing or cooperating with other players during your time on Lord of the Craft. However, please do not let the competitive atmosphere overtake you. Many issues which result in a ban report can be dealt with by keeping calm and talking it out, so remember this if you ever encounter a tense situation; try your best to diffuse it, and your roleplaying experience will be better as a result!

Get Active! - Forums
Being active on the forums is a great way to keep up to speed with all of the new and upcoming developments and updates which are happening with Lord of the Craft, and it is through these forums that you will find almost all of your questions answered by members and staff who will be happy to help you and listen to your comments.

Join a Group!
Look on the forums in the ‘Guilds and Organizations’ section and see if there are any organizations which your character would be well suited to join. There are many types of guilds which are available, from military orders to slaving companies - you are guaranteed to find something that fits your character. Joining a guild can really reinvigorate your roleplaying experience due to the unified nature of these organizations and the common goal which they usually work toward.

Friends!
Friends are a nice thing to have in any walk of life, not excluding Lord of The Craft. Being involved in a group of friends allows for you to always have a group of people with whom you can roleplay and chat to both in character and out of character. You can use Teamspeak to start socializing with other players, or just meet friends on the server.

Get Communicating!
A large communication network of LoTC players and staff exists on Teamspeak, Skype and on many other programs; this is a fantastic way to make friends on the server and a very good way to find RP.

Connect to the Teamspeak at ts.lotc.co, there will be many people just willing to welcome you and have a chat!

It should also be mentioned that if you feel you are up to the job, you can apply to become a Lord of The Craft staff member. The Global Moderator and Event Team are just two of these teams that help Lord of The Craft function each and every day.
