Nej'm was born in Avalain, Curonia. Neglected by his parents from childhood, he was never educated, and had to resort to stealing bread, and later on, scamming it into his hands. As a teenager, he had saved up enough money to go to school, but chose not to; he was afraid of the change that would come with an education, so he kept himself in his dangerous, yet comfortable lifestyle.
Nej'm makes friends easily, but often loses them just as quickly, either by conning them out of their money, or by getting them tied up in risky schemes.
He wears a dress, not for any sexual thrill or shock value, but simply because he enjoys wearing it.
As a child, Nej'm didn't have much education, and based his knowledge about the world on things he heard in everyday life. As such, he gained a reverence for the monarchy that ruled over Oren; after all, they're the ones that keep the Empire together. He even tried to learn High Imperial, out of pure admiration. However, as he grew up and experienced starvation, poverty, and crime, he became disillusioned with this idea. He became convinced that the monarchy does nothing to help the people, and has no place in society. Now, he's on a journey to Helena to do what he believes is right for the Orenian people.
How would you define roleplay, and have you ever roleplayed before?: I'd define roleplay as acting as a character in a storyline for fun. I've done some small roleplays over Discord and in Dungeons and Dragons, but nothing in Minecraft before.
Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?: Nope! I think I'm all clear on how this works :)
Character Name: Nej'm Dawnbreaker
Character Race: Human
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 18
Physical Description: Nej'm is above-average in height, and thin and lanky. He has pitch-black eyes and hair, and dons a dress wherever he goes.
Personality Traits/Quirks: Nej'm is a con artist who enjoys the thrill of scamming, although he has a tendency to take it too far and hurt himself and everybody around him. He always tries to do what he thinks is right.
What is your character’s biggest fear? What caused them to develop this fear?: Nej'm's biggest fear is getting caught for his scams. Although he frequently skips towns and runs from his reputation, he's always afraid it'll catch up to him. What then? He doesn't know how to do honest work; all he knows is this life of crime, and the thought of disrupting that terrifies Nej'm.
What does your character like most about themselves? Why?: Nej'm likes his cleverness. He's proud of the ease with which he pulls off scams, which further encourages him to pull them off.
What does your character dislike most about themselves? Why?: Nej'm dislikes their inaptitude outside of theft, scamming, and sleight of hand. He believes that he has little value to society, especially if he was forced to do honest work for some reason.
Roleplay Scenario:
I smile back. "Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm here for a bit of adventure. Say... you're a salesman, aren't you? I'm looking to sell something, myself." I pull close, and take a quick glance around to see if anybody's watching. Once the coast is clear, I reach into my pocket and pull out a coin of fool's gold. "Shiny, isn't it? Pure gold, no copper whatsoever. Name your price."
