    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: meta gaming is when someone grants their character knowledge that was acquired outside of the game or their characters own experiences in game.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: power gaming is when someone uses actions that are unrealistic and overpowered for their character in game.

I walk off the boat into the marketplace. It must be one of the busiest places I’ve ever been to with so many people scurrying about. One of the most diverse too, I might add. As I began walking towards the different stalls, I hear somebody call out behind me. It’s a finely dressed gentleman, looking at me with a smile a tad bit to wide. Adventure? Wealth? My place in society? Why is he asking me these questions of all people? ” I’m here to travel the world. So adventure, if that’s the answer you’re looking for.”  I walk off into the crowd before I can hear the mans response, hoping I wont have many more interactions like the one I just experienced.
