    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when you use information only known out of game, or that your character would not regularly know in canon, to create an advantage for yourself or others. This ruins the experience by breaking the boundary between what you know as a player and what you know as a participating character. For example, someone reading about earth evocation on the wiki and then taking character actions to flawlessly recognize the use of earth magic.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when a player abuses the nature of roleplaying by refusing to give ground in interactions between their character and others. This can be through forcing actions onto others or outright rejecting the impacts of others actions on their own character. One example is a player insisting their character successfully dodges every attack in a battle against 7 town guards, without accepting rolling results.
