How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when you make your character know something icly he shouldn't know just because you do oocly. For example, if I see a name through a wall oocly I may know that someone is hiding on the other side of it, but icly my character does not, if I make the decision to uncover the man even though my character should have no knowledge of him even being there, that would be metagaming. Another example would be if I read on the wiki about some cool overpowered spell and suddenly make my character able to use it, that would be metagaming because icly my character would never have known about the spell if I didn't know about it oocly.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when you use emotes and actions that basically force your whim on a character to deliver an instant kill giving them no chance for survival. For example, if someone were to emote *He would then block all of his opponent's hits with ease and deliver a perfect blow to his neck slicing his head clean off killing him instantly* That would be an example of powergaming.
