You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Yosef approaches the table in silence, yanking his mask down beneath his chin. "Well?" The woman said, weary of her past interactions with the Azirs. She looked on with grave anticipation, though was met with silence. Yosef did not say a word, not a sound filled the room other than the occasional 'fwip' from a flame on one of those candles. His sworn duty was to serve his Sultana, an age old rule scribed by the originals of his line. Those of his rank were not to speak unless given permission by their Sultan. However watered down to time this rule became to his peers, and even the current Sultana herself, it did not sway him.

As the elder waited and waited, growing ever more troubled by his relentless silent gaze, she eventually spoke up "There was another mentioned, supposed to arrive in my tent." A low and light nod was all that was given from Yosef, his presence encapsulating the room. "I do hope they aren't as brooding as you, dearie." The elder spoke again, her mind wandering further from troubled and more towards a twinge of awkwardness. Following a long bit of familiar silence, Yosef stood.

In his persevering gaze, his eyes could have told a thousand stories. That of a militaristic lifestyle since birth. The unchosen guidance towards his current position. His story was yet untold, for it had been told for him his entire life. The elder woman was none the wiser, given nothing but silence and those ever faint 'fwips' of candles. Finally, he broke his gaze and the air seemed to release it's awkward grip on those present. Yosef gave another absent nod, and exited the tent.
