    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: The use of information gained while out of character, used in character. For example, if I looked up some type of magic that my character did not already know about such as a certain spell, and I used this spell while still in character without explanation on how I got this knowledge, I would be metagaming. It's the use of outside information while in character.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is giving yourself god-like or omnipotent abilities. This includes forcing actions upon other players. If I were to say that my character takes something from their hand, instead of my character attempting to take something from another character's hand, I would be powergaming because I would be removing that player's decision on whether to give me that object or not. Powergaming is essentially removing another characters's free will for a moment, choosing something for them.
