I look at the smiling stranger quizzically. How should I answer this question? I look around, no other high elves insight. I squinted my eyes a tad at the man, extending my grin. I could use someone to talk to, I thought to myself.
“Do you really want to know?” I replied, a small smirk sat on my face. The gentleman returned my bit of a mischievous smile.
“Why I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t!” he responded. I laughed, small talk is boring anyways.
“I quite like coming to this bazaar.” I began, “It’s fun. Lively. See, where I live, it’s not like this, You don’t get to see such a diverse mix of species, hear the exciting chatter, or even wear what, well, what that person is wearing.” I point to a human walking by, they sported a shoulderless t-shirt with shorts.
“Okay?” responded the man “So you’ve come here for... a party?”
One hell of a party for myself, I suppose.
“Not quite. See, at home, I have to find my own entertainment. Actually, more like ‘make’ my own entertainment. To me, boredom is a moral sin. The same drab and dull lifestyle that so many of my... family members... live by gets so, ugh, sometimes. Y’know?” I watch as the gentleman nodded in response.
“So, I guess I really just came here for some inspiration! See what here excites me, and use that to make my own bit of excitement back home. Maybe scout out some people, play around with some supplies, what have you. Afterwards, it’s straight back home for this gal.” I wink and point to myself. It felt so nice to finally let loose. I’ve hid under the same monotone behavior for so long. I don’t know who this stranger is, but perhaps I should thank him for helping my unwind a tad.
“Have you any plans?” I ask him, the man looks around the side of my body. He looks as if he’s looking for something. Oh, maybe instead of buying him lunch or something, I should help him look for whatever he’s looking for?
”Need you any help--“ just as the words came out my mouth, a stranger showed up besides me.
“Welcome!” began the gentleman, “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”
I look besides me, another character.
Oh.
An NPC.
(Sorry for the breaking the fourth wall at the end there! I just thought it would be a fun little way to end that specific roleplay scenario!)
