I look at the man, trying to read his expression. He seems genuine but I can't be so sure, I can't trust him just yet with the whole truth. I smile and stick my hand for him to shake. "Thank you, I'm happy to be here." He takes my hand, shaking it slightly.
"Actually, I'm here by coincidence." I say quickly. "I'm just traveling wherever my feet will take me, hoping to find somewhere I could call home for a while." Technically that wasn't a lie, but he doesn't need to know the details.
"Well," he starts "I'm glad you ended up here. Maybe one day we'll become friends." He gives me a warm smile and I started to walk away, thanking him for his courtesy. Before I could get very I could hear his voice call out for me.
"Wait! Miss!"
I turn around to face him fully. "I didn't catch your name..." He states casually.
I smile, wondering if we would actually become friends in the future.
"Azaria..." I stated loud enough for him to hear me.
"Azaria Everly"
