Gansk eyed the gentleman cautiously. With a passing thought about the location of his axe in his travel bundle and a deliberate movement to distance himself, he continued the formalities. "Just sight-seeing". Gansk wouldn't dare alert a stranger to his movements. Especially to a sly one, one with so many questions. He's looking for something.
The gentleman continued,
"Well you've come to the right place! You'll find some of the most dazzling wonders in this region. So much history to see! Speaking of, I know a great tour guide! A personal friend of mine. She'll be happy to take you around to see the best of what this city has to offer!"
The stranger stepped forward as he spun in a circle, arms stretched wide, emphasizing the grandeur of his city. Gansk found himself naturally bracing in that moment, his right leg pulled back, his boot dug in at an angle, as if bracing against a charge. Releasing himself from his instincts, Gansk composed himself. "Can't be done today." A polite decline. Confident but kind.
The stranger pressed further. "I can promise it wont eat up too much of your day! What else do you have to do anyhow?"
"There it is" Gansk thought to himself. Without another word, he turned and marched towards the markets on the other side of town. Not that he had any bread to buy, but he had to throw the stranger off his trail incase he followed.
With an extra hour burned and the stranger's eyes off his back, Gansk continued on his search for a new band of companions. Ones he wouldn't leave behind.
