You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
I lay on the ground because my backs been hurting from traveling and I need a minute. Shortly after groaning on the ground I sit and exclaim "Well... I grew up poor but happy, doing construction with my father from a young age. He taught me everything I know from architecture to polotics. He also taught me that I am stupid and in order to not be stupid I need to go into the world and... well that I need to see what the world holds for me." I stand up straight and wince cause my back still hurts but it'll be alright. "I have some adventuring to do so unless you have food I need to get out of here."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: staying conscience of what is realistic, fully understanding the what your character is capable of doing anything that isn't humanly possible, or whatever race you're using. since my race is human I would just think about what I'm capable of or what human similar to my character would do.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: metagaming is cheating when people are sharing information about places or characters when they aren't talking as the characters.
