You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Well," he says, looking a little unsettled at the woman's appearance "I'm looking for a rare species of plant I heard was common here, but my gear was stolen from me while I was on the road, and I was told that I may be able to find it here. I understand that this is somewhat of a thieves town."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Never use emotes that affect another players character without them being able to do something about it. I.E "Rothgar the Evil picks up Hermert the small, and crushes him like a grape" Thats power gaming. Hermert has no way to stop or affect what's happening to his character. There can also be no godly emotes. No "Arathon the brave does four backflips and kills 8 men with his index finger and the power of Jesus"
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming affects fair roleplay by breaking immersion and giving a character an unfair advantage on another character.
