You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example:  

"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until I clench my fist and sit down, tensing up as I look at her with a fearful look, but trying to have a stern look...not working obviously. "S-so uh-what do you want...?" I'd say, very scared but trying to hide it. "If you uh- don't want anything important- than uh, leave."

Backstory:

Atalias grew up in a very pristine environment growing up, but he never liked the fact that he had to hold up such a high reputation for his family. At the same time, he didn't want to disappoint his family, so he kept putting on a facade for 12 years, with no one to talk to about his situation. His sadness slowly eating away at his mental health over the years breaking him as he cried his sorrows in a back corner of a building, until one day whilst he was crying in a back ally-way, he saw another person there. A high-elf similar to him, he was also crying...he was just like him. He slowly paced his way towards his girl, she'd have long white hair with sun kissed skin. She'd look shorter than him, and have a petite body. He'd sit next to her, after what felt like hours of just her crying, he tapped her shoulder and spoke "h-hey, are you um- doing alright..? Y-you uhh- wanna talk about it, if you ok with it though." after he said that, she hugged onto him immediately, crying her eyes out as he hugged her back, silence until for hours on end, until she broke the hug. She looked up at him, thankful for his arrival. They kept talking for most of the day, her name was Shoniro. After that day, they'd spend theirs hours talking in that ally way every single say. Unfortunately, that all changed. One day like no other, Atalias ran to the ally way, turning on the corner looking for Shoniro, but it was empty. Deserted even as his face turned pale was he rummaged through the ally way looking for her friend, no where to be found. He kept asking everyone where Shoniro was, with everyone saying they never heard of her. He felt confused..was it all a trick in his head, it couldnt have been. Years went by, Atalias searching for his long lost friend, his family thinking it was pathetic...then he snapped at them, told them that they were being selfish and dumb for thinking they could hold the reputation of the family on a poor child's shoulders with no support. He ran out of the house shedding small tears from his eyes as he only had a small bag of essential items with him, these items being 10 bread, a small compass, a small bed, and a small gold ring he will give to Shoniro once they meet again... Now he's on a quest, to find Shoniro. That is his only goal, for now.
