I Sabir de Savin can no longer sit idle watching as the great names of the de Savin’s are stained with the mockery of what you call a Ducal State. I can no longer even call myself a de Savin because of your wicked power hungry ways Lady Savinia. My father, Demitrios de Savin, is not the worst de Savin considering all the vile scum that you employ to oppress our poor innocent people.  I have seen the decayed wheat fields that once brimmed with life and yellow light. I have seen the starving civilians that are taxed to near starvation to fund your selfish desires and expensive tastes. You have shown that you are truly cruel and unworthy of the kindness associated with those that bear the name de Savin. All of our ancestors founded their history in humble beginnings, living among their people as brothers and sisters.  They did not push their heel upon the neck of the common folk and call themselves rulers. I came to Savinia looking for peace wanting to reconcile and try to bring the family together that I once fondly remembered. You have put a wedge between the great family we once were and I fear for the day our name no longer commands the same respect as it once did. I, Sabir de Savin, send this open letter to you to condemn your actions after locking me in a cage like a savage beast and attempting to execute me like a dog you no longer wish to care for. This letter is also to show the people of Savinia you are not a leader, you are a tyrant hellbent on returning our family name to dirt and ash. Not even the current Kingdom of Courland did that: a mere decrepit shadow of the state that was once yes, but a realm with good and kind rulers such as the Crown Prince-Regent Tobias Staunton, the man who defeated his mad father or the current Lord-Regent; you pale in comparison to the humble deeds of such a man. Your guard force in your employ is weak and disloyal, they have never disarmed me nor did they obey when you ordered them to lock me in a cage like an animal.  You are a fool unfit to rule our house and more importantly those that follow us. You inspire no love for our family name and command no respect by the people you enslave to your various whims and unreasonable wishes. I ask for the sake of the people of Savinia that they begin a mass exodus and find a new, proper home deserving of their humble lifestyle. Your lady duchess only cares for her own selfish whims and no one else. She does not care for you, her family, or even her pets she starves for fun. One need only observe how she treats her own family like wild animals to see how she would treat those that further themselves under her employ. I, Sabir de Savin, will now lead by example to try and dissolve the once great and powerful Duchy of Savinia. I do not wish for war or even the harm of this woman, however I can no longer be idle while my people suffer under her oppressive heel. Surrender, I beg of you. Spare your people further torment and allow us to rejoice in a de Savin renaissance unseen for generations. We could establish a dynasty that would last thousands of years if only you see the error of your ways... Or we could allow ourselves to decay and return to ash like many who came before us.  The choice is yours to make Lady Savinia, I pray you will help me make a better home for our troubled and tormented people. It is my sacred duty and I will carry it out no matter the cost.

The Academy of King Leo

As the new city begins to rise, so does a new place of learning. The building would be large and prosperous, housing many classrooms and activities to delve into. The sandstone structure would give off an open look, large windows peering in, letting the students marvel at the city’s beauty from the comfort of their classroom. 

Constanza- Alexia, the youthful Headmistress of the academy sits in her office, glancing at all the letters she had scribed to announce the opening of her beloved academy. The letters would fill her desk, leaving almost no room for writing. She would look over her last draft, reading it aloud to herself to check for errors.

The Academy of King Leo

Welcome students and parents and teachers, and thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this letter. If you haven’t already heard, the city of Alego has constructed an academy, where we will be taking children in to learn about their subjects of interest and subjects of knowledge. We will be taking enrollments for the next few months, so do not feel the need to rush at all. Below, I have listed the current subjects that we will offer. I ask that you pick two elective courses, and no more than two general courses. We are also in need of staff. Teachers are an important part of this institution, and we wouldn’t have one without them.

Courses

General Classes-

• Etiquette  

In this course, you will learn how to properly conduct yourself, whether it be at the table, or even on a walk through the city. It is important for each child to learn this, so they do not struggle with learning it later in life. In this course they will also learn how to address people and how to speak in a fashion that is respectful to themselves and to their peers.

• Savinian History 

In this course, your child will learn all things that have to do with our history. From battles to coronations, each student will learn the ups and downs we have faced throughout our history. Hopefully, with this knowledge, our city can become a better place.

• Theology

This course delves into the beliefs of the Canonist Church. Analysis of the Holy Scrolls, discussing pivotal events, and reasoning the doctrines and beliefs that have emerged serve as the core content of the class. Students will also explore the history of the church, the saints, and how the beliefs of Canonism have transformed society and beliefs over the centuries.

• Geography

In this course, you will learn about Arcas and the many nations and cultures that live among it. From Elven nations to Dwarf nations to Human nations, your child will learn them all, and learn about what those dots on the map are really all about.

Elective Classes-

• Music

In this elective, your child will choose an instrument from our assortment in the academy, and they will learn to play it with the help of a tutor. Along with this task, they will also be taught how to read music, as well as have the opportunity to join the school’s choir. At the end of each term, a recital will be held where each student can show off their acquired skill!

• Art

In this elective, each student will have the opportunity to create to their heart’s content. Whether it be painting or sculpting, they will push their own abilities and create new ones along the way, all while creating masterpieces to decorate your home with!

• Swordplay

In this elective, training will be done to ensure that each child can properly use and wield a sword against an opponent. They will learn not only the physical aspects of sword fighting, but also be taught what weapons they are using and what they each are used for. 

• Literary Studies

Books are our future. Reading them and analyzing them is a step towards that future. In this elective, each student will read the assigned book, and together, they will come to an understanding about what the text means and why it was written.

• Theater Studies

This elective is for aspiring performers, but anyone can take it if they want to. In this course, students will analyze plays and learn how to get into character to portray scenes from the text. The class will also reenact plays and perhaps even put on a show for the community!

• Tailory

The clothes on our backs are imperative, it is quite helpful how to make and take care of them. In this elective, you will learn how to stitch and repair worn clothing, as well as start anew and make your own stylish outfit!

2nd of First Seed (17th April) 

To mark the grand and official opening of the City of Alego, there will be a three month long event that shall include a festival, street trading bazaar and a ball! Keep an eye out for the other announcements for the latter two!

The Festival! It has been decided that this shall be the grand first event to mark the first day of the opening of the City of Alego: The Festival of the Stallion. Everyone in Arcas is invited to enjoy the delicious food stalls, fun games and prizes to be one by ALL as well as the unique trinkets that will be offered for sale!

First prize: two thousand minae

Second Prize: five hundred mina

Furthermore, there will also be a raffle, in which the ducal tailor will make you a complete outfit of your choice, the tickets will be available to buy at the festival itself for only 25 minae! (Complete skin commission for the winner, you can send them references - male and female skins)

If you wish for your own stall we implore you to send word to the Duchess herself, or Alexandra de Castreve, the Lady Treasurer, who will be able to set you up with whatever you might be needing! Just be informed that we ask you do this at least a couple of hours before the festival so that we will be able to have everything ready in time!

This will be a festival of many more to remember - save your mina, put it in the calendar and come ready for fun!
