Article I - Recognition of Sovereignty

The Holy Orenian Empire and the Jade State of Yong Ping (henceforth ‘the signatories’) recognize each other’s Realms as independent lands ruled by their respective leaders, and will make no attempt to subvert those authorities governing them.

Article II - Territorial Boundaries

The territory to the south of Oltremont and the east of Yong Ping will be maintained as per the previous agreement signed in 1820, with the Holy Orenian Empire ruling over the easternmost half and the Jade State over the westernmost ((Tile 66A/66B)).  

The cost of developing and maintaining the aforementioned territory will continue to be split evenly between the governments of Yong Ping and the Holy Orenian Empire.

All other territorial recognitions and agreements made in the previous 1820 treaty are reaffirmed by the signatories.

Article III - Defensive 

The Signatories agree to support and defend one another to the full extent of their military, economic and political capacity, in the case wherein any nation or paramilitary polity attacks, intends to attack, or declares war upon a signatory in an aggressive manner. In the case wherein the Signatories would come into conflict with allies bearing treaties of defense, or military alliance; the signatories shall not be required to offer military, political, or economic aid to their fellow signatory but cannot offer aid to their respective allies for the duration of the conflict.

Article IV - Trade

• Signatories will adhere to the following terms regarding trade:
• Signatories will trade specialty goods free of tariff, including in cases of purchase, exchange, or bartering
• Signatories will reserve the option to host a ferry in their docks to the other’s port.
• The ferry’s cost will be split between both signatories equally, including the construction and upkeep costs.

Article V - Passage

The Signatories will allow free passage for civilians or refugees through their respective territories, under the law of both nations. The road to Yong Ping passing through Orenian territory will not be obstructed to such individuals. The Signatories will cooperate militarily to keep the region free of bandits.

 Article VI - Anti-Azdrazi Provision

The Signatories shall cooperate and assist one another in the eradication of the vile race of heretics and Iblees spawn known as Azdrazi. This provision will compel them to share intelligence and assist each other in operations pertaining to the destruction of the Azdrazi, where those actions are not against the Sovereign interests of their respective Signatory.

Article VII - Acceptance of a Patron Saint

The Signatories shall appoint and accept a Patron Saint, Nafis of Al-Dirahk ‘the uncut diamond’, as the patron saint for the Jade State of Yong Ping and the Canonists visiting and living within the boundaries of the Jade State of Yong Ping. A shrine to St. Nafis will be maintained within the Jade State.

Article VIII - Violations

In the case wherein either signatory is found by the other to be in violation of this pact, all articles shall remain in effect for the next two years, while the signatories search for diplomatic resolutions according to the articles of this document.

Article IX - Duration

This treaty shall expire after twenty years. It may be renewed by mutual consent of both signatories.

PREAMBLE:

This article serves as a formal pact between the government representing The Jade State of Yong Ping and the independent monastic Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn. The last decade has witnessed the blossoming of our friendship started between Lector Dante of Dodaitose and Zhao Ting Fung of Yong Ping. The Jade State has fought and bled alongside the Owynists in the protection of the Luciensburg parish and a significant portion of our Lectorate has either served or continues to serve in the Yong Ping Army on their journey to citizenship. Thus both parties find it fit to officialize our bonds and declare our peace publicly.

Article I: Declaration of Friendship and Non Aggression

The Jade State of Yong Ping and the Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn have deemed both signatories as virtuous stock with good morals, good intentions and a value for mundane, descendant life. We hereby declare the friendship between our parties and vow to not aggress upon one another. 

• The Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn is a non-secular organization and it is noted they are to refrain from politics in the realm of Almaris.

Article II: Military Agreement

Because of our shared locale, The Jade State of Yong Ping and the Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn also share many hostiles including but not limited to: Ratiki, vampires, ice beasts, bandits and dark sorcerers. Both signatories agree to henceforth work together to protect their neighboring lands.

• The Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn agrees to act as an auxiliary force to the Yong Ping Army and will act in defense of the citizens of the Jade State against road bandits and dark entities [vampires, dark wizards, undead, etc]. It is to be made clear that The Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn will not act as law enforcement and simply as an auxiliary force the Jade-State to call upon if in need of aid from aforementioned threats. 

• The Jade State of Yong Ping and the Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn agree to work together in the investigation of dark entities and supernatural anomalies within our shared region. This includes sharing beastiary knowledge, sharing investigative progress and collaborative hunting throughout the southern Eastfleet region where both of our peoples have been attacked.

• The Jade State of Yong Ping pledges continued support of the Luciensburg parish’s fight against the Blackhide Ratiki hordes [ratmen].

Article III: Religious Protections

Despite our differences in faith, The Jade State of Yong Ping and the Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn have deemed our separate faiths are of good will and intention. In respect to both our friendship and the laws of the Jade State, the following terms are agreed upon.

• The Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn, who practices a sect of Canonism known as Owynism, will be allowed to practice their faith publicly and in accordance to Yong Ping law, preaching will be kept minimal. 

• The Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn will respect the local faiths and ideologies of the Jade State of Yong Ping, and in turn the Jade State of Yong Ping agrees not to persecute law-abiding Canonists based on their faith in respect to their religious laws. Nor shall the Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn prosecute or attempt to convert individuals of the Yong Ping faiths.

• In accordance with the military agreement and their religious faith, the Lectorate of the Prophet Owyn will not be disarmed at the gates.

Article IV: Duration

The duration of this treaty will last indefinitely so long as both parties maintain their shared virtue. Should a clause of this treaty be broken or a signatory wishes to null this treaty for whatever reason, the other signatory should be notified and a grace period of 2 Saint’s/Ishikawa/Dragon days will begin for either relations to be fixed or for an amiable severing of ties to be completed where all clauses of the treaty will remain in effect until the grace period is over.

This accord shall remain in effect until decided otherwise by any of the signatories:

• If one of the signatories violates any one of the above clauses, a grace period of 2 cactus weeks will be given for reparations to be made before the Treaty is declared officially Null and Void.

• Upon the change of Rex or leading family of either signatory, this treaty shall be declared suspended until officially reinstated by both parties.

The seeds of Yong Ping were planted by refugees seeking a home to call their own, from the very inception of our city beginning with the district of Tai Ping we have laboured endlessly to preserve our people, our cultures, and our pride.

This preservation has always been under the threat of vanity, not our own but from those who see us as little more than exotic commodities rather than people; those who have boastfully and openly declared intent to vassalize us, insulted us by claiming our women act as servants unto men at their establishments and mirror the heartless audacity of the Tai Ping massacre with their assault of the Norlandic peoples.

I am writing about the Oreni of course.

We the people of Yong Ping understand the plight of the refugee, the struggle of acceptance, and the pain of loss. It is not with violence in mind that we denounce the actions of Oren but with compassion. We understand that there are many who would not wish to sit idly by and take part even passively in fueling this vanity-driven bloodshed and so we open our arms and hearts to the wayward souls who hold no love for war and seek a better alternative.

This accord shall remain in effect until decided otherwise by any of the signatories:

• If one of the signatories violates any one of the above clauses, a grace period of 2 human years will be given for reparations to be made before the Treaty is declared officially Null and Void.
