House Nullivari, a talonii distinguished and birthed from drive, fortitude and the inherent willpower to survive. They are among the first lords of Celia’nor and are viewed as regal and postured, friends to those deserving, and fiercely loyal agents of the Celian Crown. There is a certain eloquence in which they carry themselves that denotes a sense of pride in the very surname which they bear. Though, while prideful, the Nullivari are often calm, collected and meticulous, with inquisitive, thoughtful natures.

The Lord Thalon Nullivari currently holds several positions within the Celian government, however the most notable of such being the Laurir Sil and Grandmaster of the Order of the White Gryphon. A solitary being, Thalon Nullivari is often regarded and feared as the most influential and revered member of the Nullivari bloodline. He is the acting Patriarch and Evarir of the Talonii, perceived as a confidant and advisor to all the royal Prince’s and Princess’ of Celia’nor since the birth of the nation. He has solidified himself as not only a major political actor but a ruthless servant of the Celian Crown. Father to Kallias, Kassian, and Éowyn, the Nullivari sports a proud and established bloodline renowned throughout the elven nation. He and his wife Ro’ya Nullivari currently approach the anniversary of their 350th year of matrimony, yet sources speculate it may be longer.

The daunting Patriarch of the Nullivari is highly regarded for his ancient knowledge and magical prowess in many different otherworldly endeavours. Standing at a staggering height of 7’6” with long silver hair and a hulking form, Thalon towers over his elven kinsmen with an aura that commands respect. With washed and tired golden hues, the patriarch often sports a serious demeanour and a raspy voice which accompanies his imposing figure. Adorned in ornate dark plate armors, more often than not, the Nullivari man has an ominous aura present about him.

Due to him not being a public figure and operating his involvement in Celia’nor behind closed doors, little is known about the Nullivari Lord in the public eye.

Thalon Nullivari is established as a vicious and unforgiving man, known for defacing his opponents in the most brutal of ways, he carries about his stern and unwavering attitude in all of his endeavours, never granting compliment nor insult to any he comes across. It is his lack of emotion and immorality which has lent him the reputation as a callous and rancorous Knight of Celia’nor and defender of his Talonii. To cross the man has grave consequences and to approach him with anything but ideals of further power would be met with great disinterest. 

The Lady Ro’ya Nullivari undertakes many positions within Celia’nor and its government, thus she is particularly busy, often engaged in an array of affairs. As Laurir Kaliri of the High Council and a member of the Circle of Stars, Ro’ya is responsible for the organisation of all events, the management of denizen activity, the engagement of citizens and the cultivation of Celian culture. Princess Valyris I also saw fit to name Ro’ya as Master of Paint within the Celian Court, and her artwork can be seen throughout the Elaneh’celia Palace.

Ro’ya is haelun to Kallias, Kassian, Eowyn and now, as of a recent marriage within the Talonii, she also considers herself a motherly-figure to Vaela also. She has reared all of her young with great love and devotion, her children being of the utmost importance within her life.

The formidable Matriarch of the Nullivari Talonii, has often been described by many as devastatingly beautiful, with ice-white hair and sharp, viridescent eyes. She has full lips with defined features and a thin, yet curved build with  impeccable posture, standing at six feet with an air of carefree confidence, perhaps borderline arrogance, about her person. Lady Ro'ya Nullivari has always been proud, swift to anger and slow to forgive. To those who do not know her well, she can often be perceived as rather guarded and stubborn, having built an impenetrable facade; one that is stoic, poised and regal. Ro'ya is particularly honest and direct, unafraid to speak her mind with little to no regard for the interpretations made by others. 

Lord Kallias Nullivari, the eldest son and child of Thalon and Ro’ya, is the named heir and beneficiary to the Nullivari name, estates and income. Serving with his father as an Acaln’sil of the Order of the White Gryphon, Kallias has gained militaristic values and insight befitting such a position. However, his mother saw fit to educate him, alongside all the Nullivari children, in history and tradition, as well as various cultures and peoples. Kallias is also tasked with the Master of the Hunt position within the Court of Celia’nor, where he orchestrates both noble and common hunting events for the populace to enjoy. 

Kallias was recently joined in matrimony with Lady Vaela and the pair have since welcomed a son, Vaelyx. He and Vaela have often been described as destined for one another, the pair frequently seen side-by-side when outside of the Nullivari estates. 

Rather identical to his father, Kallias stands tall with a silver mane and dull golden eyes. He is often described as devilishly handsome, with sharp, brooding features. Despite other members of his kin being infamous for their pride, Kallias is somewhat of a recluse, often choosing to remain observant within the shadows, this perhaps being justification of  his impeccable ability to judge one’s character and their intent. He is primarily seen donning dark-hued clothing containing various shades of grey, void of any and all colour.

Lady Vaela Nullivari is the most recent addition to the Nullivari Talonii by marriage to Lord Thalon and Lady Ro'ya's firstborn son, Kallias. Upon the day of her union, she was made Lady of the Interior at the behest of Princess Valyris I, though has remained reclusive since the birth of her son, Vaelyx. It is expected she will return to the Princess' court in due time, with much merit and faith put in her eloquence and skill with administration. 

The mali'aheral is a native of a distant isle known as Avir, a refuge founded two centuries previous by elves fleeing the fall of the Silver City in Axios. Thus, her blood is impeccable and entirely high elven, as evidenced by her statuesque height and lovely appearance. Her lengthy tresses are a platinum blonde, matched with a gaze the colour of a summer sea. Though upon her arrival she often adorned herself in azure-blue, the colours of her own Vaedrar Talonii, the elfess has since adopted the red and black shades of her husband's bloodline. Those who know her personally would say that she is a political animal, capable of great acts both cunning and manipulative. However, outwardly, she is glad to put on an amenable performance and is every inch the well-mannered lady of Celia'nor's noblility. She maintains close bonds and relations with the other members of the Nullivari Talonii, often found exclusively in their company. Many also note that she and her husband, Lord Kallias, are well-matched and often entirely enthralled by one another when out on either their kin's estate or walking the streets of the city.

Kassian Nullivari is the youngest son and middle-child of Thalon and Ro’ya. Known within the talonii for his expertise in all things supernatural and otherworldly; his council is often offered in grim times.  With a collection reminiscent of a dragon’s own hoard he is often sought after for knowledge on particular artefacts and relics of yore. 

The second born son to Lord and Lady Nullivari has hair which resembles pure starlight that hangs just past his shoulders. Two pale green eyes,  seemingly once a vivid green, would rest upon a ghostly white visage. Kassian is often seen wielding a variety of ancient armaments which have been collected from various historical periods and he dons the Golden Drake upon his tabard.  Most often he can be found within his talonii’s lands of Eld Roth, toiling away at his studies and searching for new ways to innovate.

Lady Éowyn Nullivari-Ibarellan, daughter of Thalon and Ro’ya, was the youngest of their children and the last to arrive in the great Nation-State of Celia’nor. She undertook a long journey by foot from the distant Principality of Savoy, guided by the gracious invitation of Arch-Princess Ivarielle. As she approached the grand gates of the city, she beheld the sight of the Arch-Princess herself, and in that moment, pledged a solemn oath to serve her for all time.

Thus did Éowyn Nullivari-Ibarellan enter the service of the Arch-Princess, taking up her duties with dedication and skill. It was here that she met her beloved husband, Túrin Ibarellan, and together they served in positions of great responsibility, with Éowyn becoming the esteemed Laurir Akaln. Alas, a cruel illness forced Éowyn to withdraw from public life, her husband following soon after to be with his wife, retreating to their ranch where they raised their children, Húrin and Niënor “Ninielle”, and taught them the ways of farming and combat. However, Éowyn’s passion for serving her nation never died, and she recently returned to public life as a member of the Order of the White Gryphon, imparting her wisdom to the knights of the Order as Naeri’sil and guiding them to become magi-knights of great renown.

The Dame of the Nullivari-Ibarellan, much like her mother before her, is a sight to behold, with her fair and delicate features, striking white hair, and sparkling golden eyes. Yet, she is also a woman of practicality and duty, often donning colourful face paint for social and military events and adorning herself with the emblem of the Canonist faith, a golden Akritian cross. Her upright posture and roughened hands bespoke of her years of labour and hard work, attesting to her reputation as a tireless worker for the good of the people of Starry City.

Lord Túrin Nullivari-Ibarellan was born to Anaessya and Ilvaryn Ibarellan on a tranquil island off the eastern coast of Haelun’or. A land where the soft whispers of nature permeated the air, and life was simple, as if Malin himself had designed it. Despite the peace that surrounded him, Túrin knew that danger lurked beyond the safety of his home, and thus he joined the island's militia. For one month each year, he stood guard on the shores, watching for the arrival of raiders that never seemed to come.

As time passed, Túrin's sister, Ivarielle, took up arms and led a rebellion against the Silver City, which eventually led to the founding of Celia'nor. She requested her brother's aid in this undertaking, and though Túrin was not one to seek adventure, he felt compelled to answer the call of his kin. However, fate had other plans for him. The ocean's mighty waves and fierce storms hindered his journey, causing a considerable delay. When he finally arrived in the Starry City, years had passed. Despite his tardiness, Ivarielle bestowed a vineyard and ranch upon her brother, allowing him to continue his peaceful farming life.

It was in the Starry City where Túrin met the love of his life, Éowyn Nullivari-Ibarellan, and the two swiftly married. But their newfound happiness was short-lived, as Túrin was soon summoned to serve the State, becoming the Laurir Fer'pueran, where he served with honour and distinction for many months. After his wife fell ill, Túrin retired from public life, spending his days teaching his children, Húrin and Niënor "Ninielle," the art of agriculture. However, as fate would have it, Túrin would return to the public eye once again, this time serving with the magi-knights of the Order of the White Gryphon.

Túrin Nullivari-Ibarellan possesses striking golden eyes and flowing white hair that reflect the grace of his elven heritage. His physique is lithe and agile, reflecting the grace of his elven heritage. Túrin's hair is long and silvery-white, framing his sharp features and falling in cascades down his back. His golden eyes are piercing and intense, revealing a keen intellect and sharp senses honed through years of training and experience. Túrin's attire reflects his skill as a warrior, with fine elven armour and a rapier at his side, gleaming in the light. Despite his deadly skills and stoic demeanour, Túrin's elegance and poise are unmistakable, embodying the grace and beauty of his elven heritage.

Lord Húrin Nullivari-Ibarellan, firstborn of Éowyn and Túrin, was reared with great care and love, trained from his earliest days in the ways of the land and the vine, as befitting his noble lineage. Under the tutelage of his father, Húrin learned to tend the fields and the grapes with his own two hands, mastering the secrets of agriculture and the delicate art of winemaking. From his mother, he gained a worldly education, studying history and lore, and becoming steeped in the traditions and customs of his people.

As he grew older, Húrin’s heart turned towards the ways of the sword and the shield, and he was inducted into the newly-formed Order of the White Gryphon, becoming one of its most valiant and respected members. His courage and devotion to the cause of justice were put to the test when he intervened to save a group of humans from being unjustly executed by Diraar officers. Using his skills in diplomacy and conflict resolution, Húrin was able to resolve the situation without resorting to violence, earning him great admiration and respect among his peers and even from those who he saved by offering a prayer to the Creator.

Yet, Húrin’s greatest destiny lay ahead, as his aunt received a prophetic vision that he was to become the Sword of Ivarielle, a weapon against the traitors and enemies of the State. The Princess Valyris, identifying the truth in this, made him a Laurir Hísilómë and tasked him with rooting out the traitors of the State and defending his people and his homeland, standing firm against all foes who threatened the peace and prosperity of Celia’nor.

Húrin Nullivari-Ibarellan stands tall and proud with a commanding presence. His silver-white hair falls in a sleek and orderly fashion, framing his chiselled and sharp features. His warm blue eyes hold an intense and determined gaze, revealing a wisdom and strength beyond his years. Though his form is lean and agile, his muscular build speaks of a lifetime of training and battle experience. He bears intricate and ornate armour, fashioned with elven craftsmanship, adorned with symbols and motifs honouring his people's beliefs and traditions. Though he carries the scars of past battles, he wears them with pride, symbols of his triumph over adversity and his devotion to his cause.

A Nullivari by bond over blood, Valindra earned her acceptance into the family through service dating back to Haelun'or under the leadership of Othelu Orrar. An experienced politician thanks to previous positions held, serving as both the first female elven Orenian Privy Councillor and Okarir'maehr and Sillumir Officer to Haelun'or, she was quick to join the forces of Ivarielle. 

The Nullivari adoptee has been with Celia'nor since its beginning, fighting in battles against Haelun'or and defending the citizens, even in the camp that once sat where the city lies today. A talented magus with her arcane experience totaling over two centuries, she went on to accept the position of Court Mage in the Celian Courts and served as the leading authority in the Voidal arts, having amassed lifetimes' worth of knowledge. Recently, Valindra returned, though most of her time is still spent countering magical threats to both Celia'nor and Almaris at large, acting upon visions granted to her by the veil to stop Voidal threats before they spiral out of control. Having amassed favour in the courts, she was often lovingly referred to as the Court Gremlin by members of High Celian society. Currently, the Nullivari runs a tavern in the Starlit Princedom, an out-of-the-way establishment known as The Cloak and Swagger. 

With sleek silver locks and an almost unnaturally pale complexion, the difference in blood between Valindra and the rest of the Nullivari is obvious to many. Her features, like most 'aheral, are sharp, refined, and regal, giving her almost a constant look of boredom or disapproval. To complement her cool palette, she is often seen sporting attire leaning towards darker hues, boldly accented by silver jewellery, though what tends to catch the eyes of those who meet her are her eyes. Once a dull purple in their natural state, they have been twisted and warped as a result of her oracle-like abilities; her irises seem to have animated galaxies trapped within, centred by a narrowed, almost catlike pupil. The demeanour of the elf had a habit of shifting, leaning towards the more chaotic side. Despite this, her loyalty persists, and she is quick to sober up from her laidback state in the face of adversity, often coming across as icy from the wastes from whence she came in her moments of true focus. Despite being a longtime mage, she tends to look upon her fellow magi and those who seek to become attuned to the void with distrust.

Zoddryk Nullivari, known by most simply as Zodd, is the incumbent Master of the Forge within Celia’nor, a position that tasks him with the fulfilment of a wide range of craftwork for various aspects of the everyday proceedings within the realm. Simple nails, blades fit for kings and emperors, and a great many things between and beyond are made within his domain, with the particularly fine works usually reserved for special people or occasions.

Unlike the rest of his kin, he is neither graceful, nor beautiful, instead usually described as a rough-hewn and slightly barbaric-looking individual, broadly-built and of large stature, his pale skin covered in scars of various kinds. Despite his outward appearance being the practical antithesis to the norm within Celia’nor, he still takes care to maintain a simple, clean-cut, look, more focused on practicality than being fashionable, a trend that does not cross over into his gear, which tends to be ornate, yet practical, and exceedingly well taken care of.

When describing his personality, he is said to be stoic, presenting a cold disposition that leaves little room for interpretation in regard to his current moods. Usually seen with an unchanging lack of an expression, sources claim he preserves showings of emotion for when he earnestly intends them, though his pale golden eyes are seemingly filled with hatred for whatever they were pointed at. When his façade cracks for once, he wears a wide range of expressions, ranging from fatherly smiles and cocky grins to animalistic scowls and, in the rarest of cases, the furious visage of a raging beast.

I - INTRODUCTION

MISSION STATEMENT

“To be our own creation and destruction; all, within our grasp.”

The ultimate purpose - the very reason for the existence of every Cerusil - is the maintenance and development of the blade.

The blade, as it exists to the Cerusil as a concept, is not physical, nor is it something one necessarily wields - the blade is the power and ability to protect oneself. It is the power and ability to exert one’s will upon others.

The blade is the implement through which a  Cerusil upholds the will of the family, and thus promotes themselves symbiotically through it.

The goal of each  Cerusil - that horizon which each member walks towards in perpetuity, is the sharpening of that blade. It is the honing of the attributes of an individual to their utmost. It is that endowment of effort and ability from part to whole, and it is that path that many minds and hands forge together towards prosperity and power.

“To reach new heights; to cast away old; to rebirth ourselves with the blade.”

PHILOSOPHY/MINDSET

“It is not called short-sightedness when one only looks forward - it is called initiative.”

Each Cerusil, empowered by their blade, seeks to utilize this for the promotion of themselves and their family. Whether it is through righteous or conniving means, the talonii will work tirelessly towards the goals of the family.

Simultaneously, the Cerusil are unfortunately rarely allowed to strive in this way on their own - indeed, most goals include interaction with other groups and people - thus, this philosophy extends the reach of the mindset of the Cerusil to a set of interpersonal codes with which the Cerusil treat others.

Primarily, the Cerusil place themselves firmly opposed to anything which might hinder them, or oppose their processes - no matter how legitimate or lawful this hindrance is, the Cerusil shall take it as an extreme slight if some restriction is placed upon them, or if they are spoken badly of.

Along the same lines, given the primary goal of the Cerusil is the sharpening of the blade and the furthering of the family itself, the loyalties of the members of the family, as well as its whole, primarily lie with each other, not necessarily resting in any outside source.

However, due to an oath made long ago by the founder of the Cerusil, they remain loyal to Ivarielle and her legacy, and thus will follow whoever they see to rightfully inherit it.

The Cerusil see their investiture in the family as a gesture of ultimate trust - with each other, and with the family itself. Thus, it is a life-long commitment, and to each member of the family, removal from the family is akin to death, and the killing of a family member is the worst crime one can commit, with the family likely declaring anathema on anyone who does so.

“It is through absolution of our weakness that we are seen to be whole; it is the fulfillment of our purpose through which we are forgiven.”

II - HISTORY

ORIGIN

The High Elves have always lived lives akin that of the scholarly class or in pursuit of various curiosities, may it be the arts, sciences or otherwise. With the Eternal Library as a central heritage, it could be said that while the silver sons of Malin seldom intervened in war they were never afraid to when needed. But if there is one thing that is commonplace amongst elves as much as men, it is betrayal. 

It was during such a very ordeal that Cerufen Silmali excelled, leaving his mark not only in history but also tying himself to those who would shape it in the years to come. Leading his family who was known to practice the blade and its many forms, he led one of the many vanguards, striking down foes at the behest of Ivarielle I of Celia’nor. Though at the time she was not known as a ruler, but rather, by her name alone.

Cerufen Silmali had sworn an oath to her and her family the Ibarellan’s just days prior. The man was one of the few who were privy to the plan of attack. All he asked for in return of his oath and the oath of his family, to safeguard not only the Royal Family to come but also, the future society of elves they’d come to make, was for her to promise him a prosperous society - successful and resplendent - one in which his family could prosper. 

It was with these thoughts in his heart that Cerufen led his family into combat, striking down foe after foe. When they had finally cut a bloody path through the battlefield and faced the Silver State’s many champions, while victorious in the moment, the war was far from over. As though the Deities above themselves had decided to interfere, the two sides parted, to form each their own society. Though they both knew it likely that conflict would rise once again.

By the orders of the Primarch, the First Sword of Cerusil the family was given instructions to go into hiding until the day each of the descendants were to receive a letter. Told to never let their swords go dull and for them to prepare for the future war. While the Primarch remained to finish what had been started. In the years that passed since the new blades slowly prepared, to no one's surprise, the letters came not long after and Celius Cerusil and the rest of the family set out for Celia’nor, to uphold an oath, to protect the prosperous society their first Primarch was promised - the will of the First Sword.

NEW BEGINNINGS

“I asked my blade if it cared if I died - it did ne respond, it just gazed towards the enemy.”

When Cerufen Silmali grew accomplished it was by no surprise that his family made their name Cerusil, honoring him, as well as staying true to their creed. As his hope was for them to remain a mighty sword that guards the Celian Society.

The Cerusil, who are raised to know naught but the blade, naturally gravitated towards military matters, soon ingraining themselves within the Celiadiraar. It was in this venture that, through the assertion of the will of their founder and the oath she made to Ivarielle, the Cerusil gained new purpose - and that purpose was the protection and promotion of the nation of Celia’nor, and it would remain so in perpetuity should the legacy of Ivarielle and the oath that they made not be strayed from.

The Cerusil, gathered in Celia’nor, reformed their family which had once been whole and then scattered - forging it whole again and remaking it in the image of their original vision, as much as this could be remembered and recounted. But it was too during this time that necessity spurred new tradition in the Cerusil, and new traditions were developed in adherence to the time and the state of the world.

Through this philosophy, the house, under its new Primarch Celius Cerusil, did begin to prosper within the nation of Celia’nor, eventually falling into the hands of Celius’ daughter Senna Cerusil, who continues now to propel the family into heights never before seen.

III - Sacred Relics

THE TWO SWORDS OF CERUSIL

“One blade for each hand - indeed, two is a divine number.”

The primary relics of the Cerusil family are the two original blades wielded by the founder Cerufen Silmali, after which the structure of the family is metaphysically fashioned.

It is the likeness of these two blades through which the family forms itself, the relics themselves being the namesake for the primary groupings with which the Cerusil organize themselves, and the physical reclamation of these relics, which are currently lost time, is seen as one of the primary goals of the family.

“With one sword we shall strike down our foes, and with the other we shall rewrite history.”

THE FIRST SWORD OF CERUSIL

“I asked my blade if it cared if I died - it did ne respond, it just gazed towards the enemy.”

The First Sword of Cerusil, the original blade wielded by Cerufen Silmali in her right hand, represents to the Cerusil family martial prowess, and the physical aptitude of all members within. It is those members of the Cerusil who are most skilled with the sword, other martial matters, leadership, and general charisma, that identify themselves most heavily with the First Sword.

It is said that the physical First Sword will be reclaimed by a worthy Cerusil, who shall propel the family to heights never seen before through pure use of their own strength and leadership, for it is this blade that represents that physical strength, vigor, and leadership present in all Cerusil.

The appearance and nature of the physical sword itself is a description lost to time, and it only exists in sentimental meaning now to the Cerusil.

THE SECOND SWORD OF CERUSIL

“It was the most potent weapon ever used against me, and I did ne even feel it.”

The Second Sword of Cerusil, to the family’s talonii, represents intelligence, intrigue, and, indeed, magic. It is those Cerusil who fashion their blade in the way of something non-traditional - whose strongest weapon is not necessarily physical, but affects and promotes the family just as potently.

Though their blade is non-traditional, they are still instrumental to the success of the family, indeed encompassing one of the family’s two primary branches. It is those of the Second Sword who plot and connive, who bring plans to fruition and allow those of the First Sword to enact their martial prowess; indeed, without those of the Second Sword, the family would swiftly fall to nothingness.

Similar to who may reclaim the First Sword, it is said that one who reclaimed the Second Sword would elevate the family with their plans and ambition - it is surely one of the First Sword that would command the most respect from the world, but one of the Second who would propel the family to newfound heights in society.

IV - TRADITION

Dagger Gifting

“Without you, how could I manage the cruelty of the world?”

It is in the symmetry of the Two Swords of Cerusil that the family organizes itself, and, indeed, it was known to the founders of Cerusil and reflected in the tradition that one Sword is quite useless without the other. Through this acknowledgement, the tradition of dagger-gifting was synthesized, and along with it, the concept of the blade-bond.

The blade-bond is a process through which one of the First and Second sword might bind themselves together in eternal friendship and trust - and it is indeed true that no Cerusil may exist for long without such a bond and find themselves successful within

After one has been consecrated within the tradition of the Cerusil for some years, they might be expected by their kin to make a dagger-gift to one of the opposite sword, and if this gift is accepted, those two bonded shall be seen as unified through life and death - indeed, it is the highest dishonor if harm should fall upon the one you are bound to.

Though it is not strictly unheard of for those of the same Sword to partake in this bond together, it is most common, and practical, for those of different Swords to do so, thus increasing the overall range of skills of the pair, and allowing them to better serve the Cerusil.

The design and nature of the dagger gifted, as well as which one of the pair gifts it, is seen as very significant to the Cerusil, and shall depend strongly upon what the to-be-bonded know of each other, and what they feel is correct, whilst also adhering to conventions of Cerusil tradition. For the same reason, Cerusil rarely accept gifts of daggers or other blades from people outside the family, or, indeed, those other than their blade-bonded.

Disownment

“I will not suffer this disgrace! How have I failed you so?”

To the house Cerusil, disownment is synonymous with death. It is a great violation of trust should one commit actions that warrant a disownment, and, indeed, the only process through which the Cerusil implement disownment is summary and extrajudicial execution. Indeed, the Cerusil claim the ultimate authority over the lives of their fellow talonii, which supersedes any political entity they might be a part of.

The decision to disown a Cerusil must be a unanimous decision of the Council of Two Swords, and is not to be taken lightly. If the Cerusil disowned attempts to escape this fate, the Council is summarily expected to declare anathema upon their name

“Do not remember my name. Strike it from existence.”

[SPOILER: All Cerusils must agree to a PK clause on their character, and they must PK under the following conditions:

1.  You are disowned, or otherwise executed by authority of the Council

2.  You are killed by a Cerusil.

If one escapes this fate for 5 OOC weeks after abandoning the name of Cerusil and anathema being placed upon them, their vows can be considered renounced and this clause no longer applies to them.]

Anathema

“Upon you, the highest order of our hate shall manifest. From us you shall never feel safe until a knife adorns your throat.”

In the history of the house Cerusil, there have been many figures who have presented significant threat to the progress or even the existence of the family, and thus their existence is an extreme slight in itself, and cannot be tolerated. It is upon these figures that the Council of Two Swords shall place anathema.

This anathema means simply that they receive the hate of all Cerusil, and that all Cerusil shall strive, with the utmost of their blade-endowed power, to end the life of this individual. Such an order supersedes any law, domestic or foreign, that may bind them, and absolutely must be fulfilled in timely fashion by the family, lest extreme disgrace come upon them.

Each Cerusil is expected to contribute to this summary execution in a manner unique to them and their blade. One of a martial blade - one of the First Sword - might be expected to challenge them to a duel, or to attack them on the road. One with a blade focused around intrigue or diplomacy might hatch a plot for assassination or to frame them for a crime, so long as it results in Cerusil control of the killing. It is seen as an unsatisfactory conclusion if the person who receives the anathema of the Cerusil is killed by another hand - it is not so large a disgrace as failing to kill them altogether, but it is a small disgrace nonetheless.

V - STRUCTURE

The Primarch and the Council of Two Swords

From among the Cerusil a Council is formed of six members, three of the First Sword and another three of the Second Sword. It is among these councilors that a Primarch is elected, with this position being the tie-breaking vote and additionally figure heading the family, as well as leading the Council itself.

The Council is tasked with voting on the course of action for the family, on banishments and anathema, and otherwise resolving matters relevant to the Cerusil. When a Council position is left vacant, the Primarch shall appoint a new Counselor to the position, though it is recommended traditionally that the number of Counselors from each Sword is kept at three.

Blademaster

Each of the two Swords of Cerusil will elect among themselves a leader, who shall be considered a blademaster of Cerusil, expected to best reflect the values of their respective Sword. Outside of the direct structure of the Council of Two Swords, these Blademasters would wield an informal authority over their Swords, likely being able to command most Cerusil which belong to it.

Traditionally, the Primarch should be a Blademaster, and the other Blademaster should reside on the Council of Two Swords, but neither of these are strictly required, though - should this not be the case, it would likely indicate disunity in the house, which is generally frowned upon, so most Cerusil will adhere to this convention.

Cerusil and Siloan Cerusil

Until Cerusil come of age and are properly blade-bonded, they are considered Siloan Cerusil, which is essentially a Cerusil that is not yet recognized as a true Cerusil that is bonded to all of their traditions - and thus, they are barred from much of the respect and opportunities afforded to promoted Cerusil. It is extremely unlikely, except in times of dire need, that a Siloan Cerusil would be afforded the position of a Counselor, and the resources of the Cerusil will almost always prioritize the bonded Cerusil over the Siloan.

Though ordinary Cerusil are not granted direct political power within the family, they still do possess the ability to influence the decision-making of the family as a whole through contribution to the decision-making meetings of the Cerusil. It is likely that a Cerusil’s word will be heeded over a Siloan’s in most situations.

Military Integration

All Cerusil are expected to join the Diraar and seek high rank within it, regardless of the nature of their blade. The Cerusil will always be warriors striving to further and protect themselves, and thus, there can be considered no better profession for them than a militaristic one. It is through this they additionally are able to uphold their oath to Ivarielle - by using their finely honed blades in protection of the nation which carries her legacy.

Cerusil Retainers

Though the Cerusil are historically a large family, it is often that martial matters do require extra hands, and in the spirit of the promotion of the individual blades of each Cerusil, it is important that each Cerusil has many resources with which to carry out whatever work they do in order to further the family. Thus, it is common for Cerusil talonii to take up to two retainers, either commoner or noble, whose loyalty they can be assured of.

These retainers will be tasked with the protection and service of their respective Cerusil, and they will also swear themselves to the house itself, joining the Cerusil in their various efforts, though most communications they receive will be limited and through the Cerusil that they serve.

Traditionally, if a Cerusil is to take a retainer, and especially if they take two, it is highly encouraged that they are able to evaluate these to-be-retainers as aligning with the values of the First or Second Swords of Cerusil. If two retainers are taken, it is recommended that one would align with the ideals of the First, and the other with the Second.

The Nullivari, a family distinguished and birthed from drive, fortitude, and the inherent willpower to survive. From humble beginnings, did Malithor Nullivari, the first of the bloodline, come to create a noble and powerful family which cherishes its values and kinsmen over all. His struggle was that of a lone man, seeking to push his name forward into the great records of elven history. It was his desire to gild the surname into the minds of all elven-kind, even by force if necessary.

What began as a vision, came into fruition in the Silver City of Haelun’or. This is where Malithor Nullivari made a name for himself within the military, rising to the rank of a commander where he then left for a career in politics. His ability to bend the minds of those around him, allowed him to acquire a place within the Silver Council. His cunning nature, set a standard that all Nullivari strive for. A confidence which could be mistaken as arrogance. The family which he envisioned also began to grow alongside his own prowess. Malithor commanded the respect of his peers and obtained the admiration of his countrymen during his time in a leadership position. Alongside the great Sohaer Othelu Orrar, did he and his brother Thalon Nullivari push Haelun’or into a golden era of military glory and legislative revolution.

After the death of the great Othelu, did the Nullivari move on from Haelun’or prior to the collapse of its government. Another member of the Nullivari Talonii, Thalon Nullivari found friendship in Ivarielle Ibarellan as she sought to establish her own dominion within the continent of Almaris. He acted as a guide and confidant, as well as a source of knowledge for the Princess to be. This is where the noble status of Virar was granted to Thalon and his wife the Lady Ro’ya Nullivari. As such, the pair have inherited a vast plot of lands thus named Eld Roth where they established the Nullivari Keep and since then, the entirety of the family dwells there with their servants and those who work the lands and vineyards surrounding the castle.

The Nullivari hold many public roles within the Celian society, others hold more [Redacted] positions, which is the primary focus of the family at the moment. The Nullivari are among the first lords of Celia’nor and are viewed as regal and postured, friends to those deserving, and fiercely loyal agents of the Celian Crown. The trust that the Celia’norian monarchs of the Ibarellan hold in the family is unparalleled, and on visible display in public gatherings. As such, the Nullivari continue to serve Celia’nor devoutly and govern the dominion of Eld Roth to this day.

A Nullivari is often regal and poised in all they do. There is a certain eloquence in which they carry themselves that denotes a sense of pride in the very surname which they bear. There is a greed and hunger for power which often causes them to delve into more nefarious dealings such as espionage, black-market trade, politics, and more taboo practices that often come masked by the coy smile and titles wielded by a silver-tongued Nullivari. Many, due to their upbringing, see themselves in a ‘better than thou’ attitude. This stems from their struggle to get what they have earned based on their individual merit and qualities, rather than reaping the benefits sowed by another from their bloodline, for inheritance is a luxury not provided to youthful Nullivari. It is expected of each household member to carve their own way through life, not being born nor forced into anything that they do not wish to participate in. Thus, they take pride in their vocations and strive to attain the highest possible standards for their trades or professions. It is not uncommon for a Nullivari to begin or end their interactions and dealings with someone by repeating their house motto “Never Forget, Never Forgive.” out of pride or to instill their words into an absolute. While prideful, the Nullivari are often calm, collected, and meticulous, with inquisitive, eloquent, and thoughtful natures.

Eld Roth is the name for the dominion and lands of the Nullivari situated just outside of the city of Fi’andria. The name Eld Roth holds traditional value to the Nullivari due to… [Redacted]. The landscape itself is a flourishing haven and is surrounded by vineyards with several keeps, manors, wineries, stables, cottages, and craftsmen houses littering the countryside and forest in which the main castle itself is nestled in. It is a bustling sanctum of work and lavish living which suits the lifestyle of a Nullivari, entertaining their inquisitive and hard-working natures. The styles of the Nullivari buildings are a juxtaposition to the traditional Fi’andrian architecture and claims a more dark and ominous feeling to the dreary forests of Eld Roth.

The Coming of Age Tradition most often occurs at the age of 40 years old - though this sometimes depends on the perceived maturity of each child on a more individual basis. This age is chosen due to the nature of the youth in question still being seen as a child in the eyes of society and the belief that although they themselves are old in the eyes of many of the other descendant races, they still have much to learn in the perspective of the elder-elves of the family.

Upon this special occasion, each Nullivari child receives a weapon, such as a sword or dagger, created specifically for them as a gift. This weapon is designed by the heads of the talonii to duly represent the individual’s personal characteristics.  Furthermore, they will also be granted an estate separate to the family home in order to begin expanding their own lines. The size and grandness of such an estate is determined by both their position within the talonii itself, and their participation in family affairs.

The child in question will then choose from select markings to obtain within a small, family-only ceremony. These markings are as follows:

Devotion (Nokglaur)

Upon the date of their 50th year within the realm, each member born of Nullivari blood will be given the option to take upon themselves the responsibility of what it is to be Fi’andrian nobility. With this age, comes adulthood which brings forth a newfound set of responsibilities and experiences available within the family structure. This bestowment of nobility challenges each youthful Nullivari to carve out their own place in the world and push themselves to be a representation of the familial ideals that have been ingrained in them during their adolescence. They are now able to freely voice their opinions at family meetings, challenge the directions of where the family should endeavor, and choose for themselves a venture that will lead them forth to their aspirations and eventual goals for their own households. 

This bestowment of the Nullivari right of nobility grants each member a coin, inscribed upon it with the sigil of the Nullivari household. That insignia being an ashen skull, pierced by a blade with a serpent curling about the sword. This coin is carried by all adult members of the family in order to prove themselves to be of the talonii if their status is ever challenged.

Following their Coming of Age ceremony, a Nullivari is deemed an appropriate age to begin courtship. However, any potential candidate must be brought forth to the heads of household and senior family members, for their approval. A high elf partner is encouraged, in order to maintain status within the talonii. If this approval is not obtained, courtship with this individual cannot go ahead. If it is discovered that a decision such as this has been overridden, and the relationship continued, any matrimony will be considered void in the eyes of the talonii and participation in future family affairs will be tremendously restricted. 

Provided the talonii has given their official approval on a potential match, such taking place in a family meeting, one is free to wed this individual.  A matrimonial ceremony must occur before a fire.

With elves producing children rather infrequently, the birth of an elven child is already a particularly revered event. However, for the Nullivari, who value their talonii above all else, the birth of a new member is thus a vastly joyous and blessed occasion. 

Therefore, the Nullivari celebrate frequently as a family during the long months of a pregnancy. Once labor is announced, flames are burned in and around each Nullivari home whilst awaiting the birth of the child. A fire is also lit within the room of birth itself, a symbol of sanctity, fortune and warmth. 

During adolescence, there is an instillation of values within all children of the Nullivari. Cunning, resourcefulness, charity, and family are all cornerstones encouraged by the adult members of the family when raising the newest generations. Frequently, there is competition between generations as they possess a drive to sit at the high table of the family’s discussions. Yet, in their early youth that competition could manifest into a variety of different activities, studies, games, and even something as simple as how their room is designed. However, selflessness, good deeds, and support is also valued in order to further cultivate a well-rounded child.

Death, a solemn occasion within the Nullivari family. Be it natural passing or unnatural, when the soul of a Nullivari is ripped from the realm, it is offered one final goodbye. The body of the deceased is placed in a golden sarcophagus and given its last rites. From this point, it is cast into a massive flame, where the body is then melted down within the casket and the bones are incinerated into ash. Following this, every member of the family will remain until the casket melts in on itself and becomes nothing but a puddle of the metal from which it was casted from.

That metal is then carefully collected and kept in its liquid form where it is then gilded upon a statue of the deceased and placed within the catacombs below the main castle of the Nullivari Estate to be forever remembered and revered. After the statue is painted with the gold from the casket, it is blessed and a flame is lit beneath it, never to be expunged nor dispelled and thus, the fallen Nullivari is properly laid to rest.

Power, Wealth, Family, Honor, and Loyalty. All cornerstones of the Nullivari values. Each different but linked to the other. It is in these values that each member of the family finds their own sense of morality. At their core, each Nullivari is individualistic, yet linked by a commonality of cause stemming from these beliefs and morals that they develop along their journey in life. For it is with pride and purpose that the family pushes itself to its limits and seeks to constantly better itself through an adaptation of all those ideals intertwined into a singular path. It is up to the Nullivari to choose what it is that keeps them going and there is a constant shift between the morality of good and evil within each. However, at the end of the day, there is but the family and each member would willingly sacrifice all they have for the good of what the Nullivari seek to preserve. 

Family, to a Nullivari, is of greatest importance and of  highest value within one’s life. A Nullivari is taught from birth that family comes first, for it is the priority above all else. Additionally, it is instilled into them that they must always defend one another and the name they bear, no matter the price. 

The Nullivari share particularly close relationships with each other, there are no lies or secrecy between members. Thus, individuals from outside the bloodline are very rarely allowed any insight into family affairs, nor allowed entry into the family itself. 

Many see the word ‘Power’ and assume it is the ability to control others. However, this is slightly tweaked in the mindset of the Nullivari. For it is not the ability to control others, but the ability to manipulate their minds to bend to the silver-tongued statements born forth from the maw of the Nullivari. While they are quite the imposing individuals, a Nullivari often lurks within the dim corners of the room, pulling upon the emotional strings of one's psyche and contorting others to their whims sometimes for naught but mere entertainment. They see power as the ability to control without being seen and thus is why they have the reputation for being the least known but most influential house within Celia’nor.

People tend to define loyalty and honor by what they are not; betrayal, abandonment, thievery. But, they are so much more than the absence of mistreatment. Loyalty is faithfulness, dedication, honesty and trust, all intertwined together. Honor is the bond between an individual and society, regarding others with great respect and esteem. 

The Nullivari value these traits in all of their relationships, though hold them in highest regard amongst themselves, for the strength of a family, like the strength of an army, is in its loyalty to one another. 

Like all people, wealth is a cherished and beloved concept to the Nullivari. Each adorns lavish sets of clothes or armors to reflect their status as nobles. It is not infrequent for Nullivari to separate and pool their wealth depending on the situation at hand. However, it is greatly encouraged that each branch of the family create their own bank in order to harbor the multitude of precious metals, rare artifacts, crafted weapons, and mina which each faction of the family holds dear. Yet, in a combined sense, the abundance of wealth that the Nullivari possess would seek to drive anyone mad with greed, perhaps that is why greed and a thirst for more, is often a pitfall for the members of the household.

The Nullivari are often described as devastatingly beautiful, standing tall with impeccable posture and an air of carefree confidence. Their pale skin and silver hair is complimented by their bright eyes which are primarily golden, though often vary into green-blue hues. Many of the Nullivari adorn scars - both a source of pride and a demonstration of the complex tribulations each has faced within their past.

History

     The Py'lrie have been around for a long time, but for most people, it's easiest to divide their history into two sections, both connected by one figure: Tayna'len. She's the only one who's lived long enough to see the Talonii grow from their bloody past of infighting and internal conflict to a much more peaceful and united Talonii.

     The Talonii's true conflict started with the appearance of magic in the bloodline. Those who were old and traditional opposed it staunchly, as it was different and new. They forbade their younger relatives from learning it altogether, which sparked many an argument in the household. As with all things forbidden, it only grew more and more until the Talonii started truly fighting each other. Blood was being shed over the use of magic forbidden by the elders.

     Young Tayna'len's parents had been learning magic, and they were punished harshly for it. Many of her closest loved ones had died while learning magic, and she had witnessed cruelty firsthand. Years of cruelty and punishment had caused many to fight or flee, and so did Tayna'len with her relatives. They were escaping by the skin of their teeth from the Talonii elders, who were hunting them, never staying in one place for too long. Many of those who had spent those years on the run were still expanding their knowledge of magic until they had finally become capable of truly fighting back.

     The tide had begun to turn as those who learned magic began to beat back the elders with their newly obtained knowledge. They sieged the home of the elders, where they lived together. However, they were not much different than those who hunted them, as they had brutally killed the head of the Talonii during that siege, causing the proverbial floodgates to open and unleash total war. It lasted for over a century, tearing the Talonii apart and causing much pain on both sides. By the time it had ended, countless members were dead or missing, and even more were left grieving for the loss of their loved ones.

     As far as Tayna'len was concerned, she was left alone to rebuild the Talonii. She was unwilling to work with the older members who had perpetuated the conflict for so long and decided to start fresh. Over time, she met and fell in love twice, starting the Talonii anew. She had two sons, one with each father, and though their fathers were different, they treated each other as Talonii no matter what. Tayna'len had instilled in them the virtue of Talonii first, to protect those closest, so that what she went through for all those years would never repeat itself again.

     These brothers would have children and expand the Talonii, each in their own way, but as one Talonii with two bloodlines. Their descendants have come to live in the lands of Celia'nor, some settling down and others wandering, yet never forgetting their blood ties. The current members of Py'lrie have fought to defend Celia'nor, and for their loyalty and dedication, they were rewarded as some of the most well-respected nobles in the land.

Beliefs & Morals

Talonii First

      As far as beliefs go, the Talonii hold one thing above all others and consider it paramount. To them, it is almost sacred, and breaking away from it is out of the question. This belief is evident when speaking to a member of the Talonii; they all abide by it as if it were indisputable. This all stems back to Tayna'len and her own experiences, where she cast aside all those who betrayed this ideal and started anew.

Betrayal of Talonii

     To the Py'lrie, going against your Talonii is a cardinal sin that will be punished severely, no matter the situation. If you kill another member of the Talonii, you are to be hunted for the rest of your life. Though not all deceptions are so great as to lead to death, some are of a lesser nature. However small, though, the memories of the Mali are lengthy, and they will remind you for the rest of your life what you've done wrong. 

Betrayal of Friends & In-laws

     The closest of friends are considered dear, although not akin to Talonii. They would protect them closely and be very loyal to them; for if one is not loyal to their friends, how could they be loyal to their talonii? Those who marry into the Talonii are treated as equals, although they would be cast out more easily for mistakes.

Natural & Unnatural Deaths

     If one passes from natural causes, they are well taken care of during their dying days. The Talonii tries to fulfill any wishes and stays by their side until the end. It is not uncommon, though, for dying members of the Talonii to find it too unbearable to be with their loved ones before the end and to disappear abruptly. The Talonii itself assumes that when an elderly member disappears like that, they are leaving to die in solitude. 

     The death of a Talonii member is a grave matter, and they would mourn their loss greatly. The Talonii mourn them day-to-day, with each day representing a year in the life of the member who passed. They do this out of respect and for the time they spent serving the Talonii during their lives.

Traditions

With Child

     When a Py'lrie is bearing a child, they are protected and cared for very well. It is tradition for those who are pregnant to always have at least one person assisting them. The person assisting must be trained in first aid in case something happens. Sometimes, those who are not members of the Talonii are entrusted with this role, and it is considered a great honor. 

Coming of Age

     Becoming an adult is an important and celebrated occurrence, and for the Py'lries, it occurs at the age of 30. To come of age means you are given the freedom to take whatever path in life, whether it be leaving and traveling or marriage.

Marriage

     As far as the vow of matrimony is concerned, it is highly encouraged to find another High Elf to marry, and if you do not abide by this, it will be considered a mistake. It is not shameful, but it is discouraged. 

     According to tradition, you are to be married facing the sea. In some instances, you may even be married on board an embarked ship! This stems from times when the hunted members of the Talonii fled, leaving many with no choice but to state their vows upon a ship. The marriage is to be approved and overseen by the head of the Talonii, and if it isn’t, it isn't considered official by the Py'lrie. 

Commemoration of Honor

     When a member of the Talonii dedicates their life to warfare, there is a grand celebration, for it is considered a great honor to protect your land.

Traditional Markings

     Body art and markings have a long history among the Talonii, with various meanings and serving as reminders, both good and bad. The two markings are "Fih Kae'leh" and "Malieir."

     When a member of the Talonii recognizes the true meaning behind the words "Fih Kae'leh," they have it tattooed on their body in recognition. Most adult members of the Talonii have gotten this tattoo at some point, and it is considered a rite of passage by some. 

     The marking "Malieir" is used to identify traitors–those who have committed the greatest treachery and betrayal. There is no escaping this fate, either, as those who run away before they are marked will be found, and the tattoo will be applied to them by force.

Talonii Markings

“Fih Kae’leh” 

     “Feed Your Soul” is a phrase long passed down within the Py’lrie. It is taught to each member as an important lesson they must come to understand. In the eyes of the Talonii, one cannot truly care for and protect others until they can truly satisfy their own soul and care for themselves.

“Malieir”

     “Betrayer” is a phrase branded on the palms of traitors and wrongdoers within the Talonii, showing the realm all the wrongs they’ve committed, and having them disowned from the Py’lrie name and household. Those who murder other Talonii are branded once they are killed, and their marked corpses are abandoned in the forest to be forgotten.

Personality

     Though the two branches have their differences, their biggest shared trait is their protectiveness. Both have a strong desire to protect what they have and their friends and Talonii. Similarly, all members of the Talonii have a strong desire and willingness to experience new things and are open-minded. They also have a deep, intrinsic connection to their Talonii and ancestors, often honoring them in times of need with shrines made for their ancestors, in particular Tayna'len Py'lrie and her two sons. However, their similarities end there, as they have very different ways to show these tendencies.

     Elauthinleon's bloodline is quick to act and decisive in times of need, especially when it comes to Talonii. They are temperamental but not overly violent. They are far more sedentary, having settled down and grown to love the land they live on. Overall, they are far more disciplined than their cousins, with a bit of a stern countenance. They are more inclined to physical activity and exercise, generally being quite athletic.

     Panithleon's branch, on the other hand, is free-spirited and artistic to the core. They are always on the move, seeking out the new and unknown so that they may experience it and learn more about the world they live in. Due to their less strict nature, they often have an easier time connecting with people they meet and befriending them. Their way of showing affection and love is through gifts.

Physical Appearance & Traits

     For the most part, the two branches of the Talonii share several traits, as they have inherited much from Tayna'len Py'lrie. For instance, both predominantly have blonde hair and faded blue eyes. Many members of the Talonii also have wavy hair, as opposed to the more common straight hair. Their skin is generally quite pale, and they stand over six feet tall. Both sides of the Talonii also share a common allergy to honey and bees. Of course, regardless of the shared mother, the two different branches are bound to have some distinguishing traits due to the different fathers in both.

     Elauthinleon Py'lrie's branch occasionally has members with pale green eyes as well as white hair in addition to the previously mentioned blonde hair and blue eyes of both branches. Overall, the members of this branch are taller than their cousins. The biggest differentiator is their different ear shapes, as theirs point backwards instead of upwards. They have narrow eyes, slim and sharp features, and generally many small birthmarks over their bodies.

     Panithleon Py'lrie's branch has a rare few members with distinct purple eyes, with their skin being paler than their cousins. Some of them would occasionally also have a more silvery blonde hair color and be a little shorter than the other branch. Their ears tend to be pointed upwards quite a bit more than their cousins, and their features are noticeably softer with kind eyes. The one birthmark that stands out is the one strand of very white hair at the back of their head.

For Roan of Celia’nor

With heavy hearts and clear conscience, the Cerusil Talonii must officially recognize and denounce the misconduct and decadence of one of its sons, Roan. Roan, so fatefully led astray by the vices and ill-humours that grip him, has brought little but embarrassment and shame to the rest of his kin. His follies and ills are as follows:

I) A negligence to attend to the official duties required as him as a member of the Cerusil Talonii and;

II) A disrespectful and irreverent attitude displays towards the other members of the Cerusil Talonii and;

III) The unapproved relations with a serving woman below his station, who shall remain unnamed, despite warning being given and;

IV) The unapproved relations with a mali’ker woman, who shall remain unnamed, despite warning being given and;

V) His wanton gluttony, avarice, and other vices leading him to cause major expenditures to the estate finances and;

VI) His laziness and refusal to find work to recoup the cost of the expenses he incurs and;

VII) His weakness and cowardice, which was put on display when, as a bandit attacked him and his supposed secret lover, he fled from him at first sight and hid within a bush while she was brutally beaten. [This was rumoured throughout Celia’nor]

In light of these reprehensible actions, and the shame brought upon the Cerusil Talonii as a result of them, there is only one course of action to end the cycle of misdeeds. From here on out, Roan of Celia’nor shall be fully disowned from the Cerusil Talonii. He shall be barred from bearing or otherwise using the Cerusil name, and shall be disinherited from all finances, inheritance, and access of the Cerusil estate. Any offspring he may sire will further be barred from bearing the Cerusil name, as shall their offspring forevermore. There shall be no reversal or revocation of this punishment.

The Athri’onn bloodline was once a small and lesser-known group of Mali’Aheral that wandered the realm. They were often described as intelligent yet reserved people; priding themselves on the knowledge they held. It was not uncommon for an Athri’onn to take on many different professions and or paths in life. It was widely accepted since the times of old. For example, it was not unusual to see an Athri’onn work as a soldier, healer, blacksmith, mage, et cetera. Those of this bloodline have been known to be quite versatile and resourceful given their long existence in the realm.

Etymology

The name Athri’onn is derived from the elven words- ‘Athri’, which means snake, and ‘Onn’, which means born of or kin to. Together, these two elven affixes form the name Athri’onn and translated means ‘Kin of the snake’. It’s said that the name is very befitting for the members of this bloodline because of their often clever and cunning personalities.

The Athri’onn Talonnii did not become an important group for some time as they originally came from behind the walls of the Silver State; also known as Haelun’or. As those of the Athri’onn began to collect knowledge and power for themselves the realm slowly remembered their name. Their constant pursuit of knowledge has led them to interesting positions and roles throughout history.

The lineage of the Athri’onn Talonnii is somewhat confusing and tricky to figure out for outsiders. Though, those who bore the blood of the serpent find that their kin is easily identifiable to them. This ancient and now mighty family first started with the union between Tanarya, and Ocatellor Athri’onn; two High Elves who lived within the Silver State. In time they had three kids of their own; two daughters and one son. These three siblings would then go on to have children of their own. 

One of the most notable lines would be that of Celeste Athri’onn who birthed two twin daughters and later passed because of health complications. One of her daughters, Renae Athri’onn, would go on to elevate the status of her family by leading for many years in her adulthood. Renae would also go on to recruit and legitimize her distant Sylric half-siblings sired by her father.

As of the present day, the Athri’onn family resides within the lands of Celia’nor and owns private land right outside of the capital city; Fi’Andria. The Athri’onn family has sworn loyalty to all of the rulers and will continue to uphold their oaths by protecting and helping to progress the lands they call home. Many of the current members have become great scholars and magnificent practitioners of the various forms of magic throughout the realm.

Traditions | Rites & Rituals

Courtship - The courtship process for this Talonnii is something of great importance; though, it is not all that different from the way it is done in Celia’norian culture. During a courtship, the couple becomes accustomed to one another and decides if there will be an engagement, concluding with the celebration of marriage. If a member of a courting pair is of noble standing, the permission of the head of that household must be given.  Some common courtship practices for an Athri’onn may include gifting something to their partner, demonstrating one of their talents/skills, or preparing a romantic dinner or picnic. 

Matrimony - The ceremony performed during the union between an Athri’onn and their desired partner is something that has been done for ages. This ceremonial tradition has been done in the past with only the couple in attendance, but this changed in time. As of now, the Athri’onn, their partner, and the two families may be present for this sacred ritual. A second and more public ceremony may be held after this one is completed. To begin the ritual, the couple must first cut each other’s lips with a fine blade. Next, the Athri’onn must bring forth a wooden bowl before cutting each other’s hands over it. As the wooden bowl fills with their blood the Athri’onn must then use the blood to mark each of their foreheads; this is meant to signify the union between their blood. They then can quickly say their vows before pledging to each other that they are, “One flesh, one heart, one soul, always and forever.” Finally, to end the ritual, the couple must kiss with the open cuts on their lips. 

The Birth of a Hatchling - The birth of an Athri’onn child is said to be an extremely joyous occasion for the entire family as they all gather to await the newborn babe. As per custom, after the delivery of the newborn, family members would place a kiss on the newborn’s forehead as an act of good luck or protection. Lastly, to show how grateful they are for the child a great fest will be prepared for all present.

The Ceremonial Hunt - After the compelton of their hatchling trials, the young serpent must then find a serpent elder that could teach them the art of combat. They must go through many intense sessions of training with an elder so that they can be deemed ready for the hunt. Once deemed ready by the elder they must then speak with the reigning head of the house so they can receive approval again. After approval, the hunt would be prepared, and thereafter the feast would be prepared should the hunt be successful. 

The Mark of the Serpent - Once the ceremonial hunt has been completed and the young Athri’onn has been named a full member or “fully-grown” to the rest of the family, they are to then receive the mark of the serpent. The marking ceremony must be done in private with only the young Athri’onn and the artist present. The serpent mark must be placed somewhere hidden and no one is to know the location of the marking except the head of the house. 

Funeral - When an Athri’onn passes there are specific traditions and rites that need to be performed. The deceased’s corpse should be cleaned and their marking removed swiftly before any outsiders see. From there a wooden pyre must be constructed and the corpse laid on top to burn. Personal items or memorabilia may be placed onto the pyre as well should they want it all to burn. Next, everyone would cut the palms of their hands to pour some of their blood into a wooden bowl that's passed around. The blood would then be poured onto the pyre to burn as well; symbolizing unity amongst the family.

Honoring the Ancestors - To honor one’s ancestors for this Talonnii is something essential for their way of life. The Athri’onn say that the ancestors paved the way for the newer generation of members. The newer generations of Athri’onn are to learn right from wrong and the like from their ancestors. There’s one simple way to honor one’s ancestors and this is by creating small shrines for each individual person. The shrine should have either a painting, drawing, or sculpture of the person, and colored candles representing different things. The last few things on the shrine would be an iron dagger, a stone bowl, some paper, and a charcoal pencil that would all be arranged together. As per custom, one must write their desired words on a small piece of paper before pouring a drop of blood onto the piece of paper. You must then set it aflame and cast it into the stone bowl to burn away. It’s believed that by burning the words they might reach our ancestors. 

To Honor Living Blood - Similar to honoring one’s ancestors, this ritual would instead be for the living Athri’onn. Small shrines may be constructed for any living members so that their family may cast protection on them from a distance. The shrine should once again have either a painting, drawing, or sculpture of the person, colored candles representing different things, an iron dagger, a stone bowl, firewood, and sometimes herbs. As per the Athri’onn custom, one must cut the palm of their hand and allow for blood to trickle onto a burning flame in the stone bowl using the firewood. It’s believed that through supplying them with blood their vigor may increase. 

Markings

The marking/tattoo that members of this bloodline place onto their bodies signify their completion of their Hatchling Trials. One may choose the specifics of how their mark may look, but it must have some semblance to a snake. The marking process and the mark itself are meant to be kept a secret from all others; only the Serpent Father or Mother may know the placement of one's mark. To have the serpent mark means one is considered to be a full-fledged member of the family and knows what it means to be a serpent, "clever, charming, and cunning."

Later in life, an older Athri'onn may go on to mark themselves with other tattoos of serpents on different spots of their body. Sometimes to represent things such as the passing of a lover, a new chapter in life that may have opened, or to simply signify a milestone in age. Furthermore, some members may opt to just addon to their preexisting serpent mark.

Hatchling Trials

Trial of Cunning

The hatchling must prepare to set out to meet three strangers. They must then retrieve information through sheer cunningness and also determine whether they are a useful connection. You must converse with them casually to retrieve the specific pieces information.
 

Trial of Perception
The hatchling must write a book on a topic of their choosing, no matter how brief or extensive. They must set out and find all the information they can on the topic. It is preferred that the topic be interesting/unique as it will go into the family library. The book will be judged by the Elder issuing the trial, they will decided whether the young serpent has passed or not. 
 

Trial of Control
In this trial the hatchling will have two options for what they will be tasked to do. In the first option, the hatchling would be forced to tame a wild snake without any external aid. This can be done by any means necessary, though the instructor would have to instruct them on the best ways to do it prior. In the second option, the hatchling must place their hand into a bag filled with a highly venomous snake. 

Trial of Action

In the final trial, the young serpent must be trained in combat further. Once they have been deemed adequate warriors by their instructor, then they will be sent on a hunt. Lastly, the young Athri'onn would be made to fight a beast of the instructors choosing.

Family - The Athri’onn find themselves caring for those of their family more than anything else. They are taught to fight and defend their family and name no matter the cost, however, this does not mean they should charge head-first into any situation without any prior thought. A common phrase used by those of this bloodline to show unity and love for their kin would be “Always and Forever”.

Knowledge & Power - The Athri’onn believe that with obtaining great knowledge comes true power. Those of this bloodline use knowledge as a means to manipulate or get what they want; often for personal gain or to help their family in some way. 

Secrecy - Members of the Athri’onn are sworn to secrecy by the head of the family. They are to not spread family secrets or gossip to those who are not of their blood; outsiders. It’s said that through this secrecy and avoidance of gossip they have been able to survive for ages.

Inner Passion -  It’s strongly encouraged for members of this family to find their true passion in life. To find their preferred occupation and to become the best in their field. All are given the same opportunity unless they are deliberately trying to cause harm or partake in any forbidden knowledge.

Love & Intimacy - The concept of love to the members of this family is something unique and freeform. The beliefs and traditions for this topic may vary between members of the Athri’onn as they have adopted many different cultures over the ages. Regardless of that, there are core beliefs and traditions for those who wish to honor their familial culture. For example, it’s thought that love is the strongest emotion one could feel and it should be carefully welcomed. It’s rumored that love may have been the downfall of many great Athri’onn.

Inner Balance - The Athri’onn Talonnii believes that it’s important for one to be able to control their emotions and achieve inner balance through practice.

The Soul - In the Athri’onn Talonnii, the soul of a Descendant is considered to be deeply sacred. It’s said that the soul is what makes each person unique and different. It’s also thought that the soul is where one’s deepest desires reside. Those of the Athri’onn take it upon themselves to ensure the progression of their soul and the continued absence of corruption in it.

The Protection of the Realm - Because of influence from members who devoted themselves to the Aspects, the idea of protecting nature has become quite important to the Athri’onn family. Though, not many members will take extreme enough action to accomplish h true balance of the natural world. More so, members will step in if Voidal corruption had played a part or anything related.

Physical Traits & Appearance

Regarding physical traits, each Athri’onn normally reaches heights of 6 feet and above by the time they reach adulthood. Their skin is usually on the fair side, though some are found to be paler than others and their hair colors range vastly: Ginger, Blonde, Silver, and Gray -- all of which can be seen in the Athri’onn. However, eye color usually stays within a certain spectrum of color, ranging between blues and violets mostly, though rarely will a gray make an appearance.

As for the attire that you will find various Athri’onn adorning, it would be very rare for a member of the Athri’onn to not be dressed in something high in class. Each serpent tends to adorn itself in the finest clothing the world may offer. From fancy yet tough suits of armor to finely woven robes and dresses. To represent the Athri’onn, some will wear the colors green, gray, or gold; however, not everyone chooses to stand out so boldly.

History

The Akaln'riv bloodline has no great leaders through history, there are no generals of mythic status, no politicians of legendary stature, no philosophers of grand renown. Akaln'riv was built upon an idea instead, "Hard work bares rewards". the reality of this cruel world is that the deeds of your ancestors do not create greatness in oneself. Greatness is seen in the harshest of conditions, and when found within those conditions, it is tested and put to extremes. It is in the deep cold that the workings of the Akaln'riv blood was first seen.

The origin of the Akaln'riv is dated back to the fifty-fifth year of the Second Age. When Theoden Akaln'riv was born. The exact location of his birth is unknown, as many other aspects of his early years. All that is known is that the first of the Akaln'riv's roamed the North with a guitar slung around his back, and a rancher's hat upon his head, the only two things ever truly given to the bloodline. Within the deep frost of the North, there was nothing but desolation and hardship, the roads were the only homes known to the mali'. This start instilled a lesson that is to be passed down throughout the generations of the House. Nothing was given through blood, everything had to be earned.  The origin of the Bear upon the bloodlines crest is a hint to the houses origins, with the beast being common to the Northern Regions, it's thick coats giving it an edge in northern survival. It serves as a reminder to all that it is in the cold that they all originated, and it is to the cold that the members of Akaln'riv will all return to test their worthiness.

It is the ideology of the Akaln'riv bloodline is one of comradery and patriotism. For it is through the fellowship of others that a group can survive. It is for this reason that Akaln'riv maintains three focuses. Loyalty, Comradery, and Hospitality. None deserve the cruelness of baring the burdens of the world alone, especially not ones kin. It is through the collective unity of one's country men that Akaln'riv strives, for it is a bloodline that understands one cannot hope to survive and prosper by themselves. The dedication to the maintenance of the fields shows this sentiment, with the members of the Akaln'riv bloodline dedicating themselves to the field of agricultural development. Feeding the realm, after all, is a key component to the survival of a society.

It is within the lands of Celia'nor that the bloodline of Akaln'riv calls home, far from the desolate lands of the North in which the house's origins rest. With the bloodline owing its prosperity to the realm. Akaln'riv is a line willing to fight for the continuation of it's home, whether from threats abroad or from within.

Eymotology 

The name "Akaln'riv" stems from the elven words 'Akaln' meaning golden, and 'Riv' meaning claw. The name hinting at the golden bear which occupies the bloodlines coat of arms, and offical stamp.

History

The Aevaris talonni traces its origins to the days of republican Haelun’or when Ellisar Aevaris and Aestenia Loralynn were married. For many years the family found some measure of peace and happiness there. Ellisar served as a sillumir, eventually being elected to the post of Okarir’tir. Aestenia managed the city’s tavern and was a well regarded physician. Their brother, Glynfir, was also a serving Sillumir and the three fought together through many battles of the Inferi war. Glynfir had been a child soldier, forced into harsh training by the old Diarchist government of Haelun’or. He wouldn’t remove his helmet for years, and went only by his first name.

With the fall of the republic, the family and their young oem’ii - Filvendor, Eden, and Astryn - were forced to flee Haelun’or lest they wind up in the acid pits for not toeing the new government’s line. They and many other ‘aheral families settled in Haense. Glynfir and Ellisar resumed their trade as soldiers, fighting with the HRA and BSK through many battles and Ellisar serving as a Lieutenant and Engineer. Aestenia returned to her work in the medical field becoming Surgeon General of Haense. It was in Haense that Ellisar and Aestenia welcomed their second youngest, Fenlar, who had to remain hidden in their frontierland estate lest the Haelun’orians hunting ‘impures’ or those born outside of Haelun’orian lands find him. Later, their youngest son, Eldrin, would endure the same though he was only an infant. During this time, their son Filvendor became a highly skilled alchemist, even beginning to teach the craft to his younger brother Fenlar. Eden, their eldest daughter, became a fully qualified physician, following in her mother’s footsteps. It was also during their stay in Haense that Glynfir was adopted into the Aevaris talonni.

As many other ‘aheral left Haense, the Aevaris remained, hoping to soften the hard attitude many had against mali in that nation. As their dear friends eventually passed on, and with no other mali to socialize with, the decision was eventually made to move to the lands of Fenn. Departing Haense on good terms, they resettled in Fenn with the most falling into their habitual careers once more. There, the Prince of Fenn formally acknowledged Glynfir’s adoption as an Aevaris. With the dissolution of the Princedom of Fenn, the Aevaris had to move once more. It was decided at this time that Glynfir should take up the position of Laurir of the family in order to grant Ellisar and Aestenia some time to rest and as acknowledgement of all Glynfir had contributed to the talonnii.

Finally, they settled in Celia’nor. Upon their arrival, the Princess Ivarielle graciously awarded the family the noble rank of Laurir and land on which to build their manor. As of the time of writing, it remains to be seen what the Aevaris will make of themselves within this new nation.

Values & Beliefs

The Aevaris talonnii value family above all, as is reflected in their family motto of “Family, Service, Honour”. This has been especially true since having to flee their homeland. The need for family security has been a driving factor in the military careers of both Ellisar and Glynfir, and the medical careers of Aestenia and Eden.

The family also has a strong tradition of service to the country they reside in, believing it to be their duty to serve in some capacity. Alchemists within the family supply the government, soldiers defend the land, and the doctors help the sick and injured.

Honour is important to the Aevaris as well. They will always try to do the right thing and follow their conscience, though will do whatever is necessary to protect their family.

The Aevaris tend to have a very dim view of the ‘aheral concept of purity and the ideological superiority that it feeds in current day Haelun’orian thinking. Having lived in so many different nations with so many different people and gotten to see first hand their abilities and skills, and being embraced as friends in each new home has soured most Aevaris’ on the concept of the ‘lesser’ or ‘mali’ata’. Instead, most of the family finds itself supporting the newest iteration of mali unity, hoping that it will lead to a safer and more peaceful future for their family and friends.

Appearance

The members of the talonnii tend to have light hair, pale skin and blue or green eyes. They tend to be around 6' tall. Many carry battle scars or wear artificial limbs.

“Progress through artistry and arcane.”

 History 

The Wynasul bloodline for generations has kept mostly to themselves with very few noted throughout history before the realm of Almaris due to most of them being rather eccentric artists or studious magi who kept to themselves, simply doing their duties to the Silver State from afar while pursuing their personal goals and businesses. Each Wynasul is to take on a mastery by the time that they reach the elven age of maturity, fifty. Most of the lineage seem to take up practices of the arcane or of the arts. However, in recent years they have become known for their pioneering of interweaving the arts with the arcane. While many mali’thill tend to find their path to progress in the pursuits of logic, the Wynasuls find theirs within their craftsmanship. They believe that since many other aspects to progression are already covered by the ‘thill and that it is their responsibility to pick up and advance forms of artistry of all types; fashion, architecture, painting, the arcane. It is said that the first Wynasuls combined the water of the golden pools into everything they did as to make up for following the rest of the ‘thill to the pools a few decades after and that their signature fiery-hair is shown throughout the artists in the family and those that have golden eyes are pioneers of craftsmanship. 

Yet, it was not until time had passed when descendants reached the lands of Almaris in which the Wynasuls truly began to make their mark on history. Valyris Wynasul took the opportunity to take a different path apart along with continuing the business of the rest of the family. In the year of 7 S.A. she became the first Wynasul on the council of the Silver State of Haelun’or. She thrived in the council of Haelun’or as she continued to push for the progress to be actually implemented rather than simply discussed. She remained on and off the council for several decades in various positions, alternating her focus between traveling for Wynasul and Wynasul, the family business, and her political agendas. Yet, it was not until the Ivarialists came into Haelun’or who had been portrayed as the enemy for so long that it had clouded her judgement and she realized that they shared many similar values and desires for the future of the high elven people. Valyris and her brother Mythaldir Wynasul soon became key supporters of Ivarielle Ibarellan in the Haelun’or Anarchy War and followed her into her new endeavors after it had ended.

It was the founding of Celia’nor which began the Wynasul’s return to high elven society and grand contributions. The Wynasuls from around the realm began to return after the foundations of the capital of Fi’andria were made. Mythaldir and Valyris contributed in a variety of ways to the newfound elven settlement, Valyris with her magical expertise and connections and Mythaldir with his grasp of the realms political spheres and economics. Wynasul and Wynasul, the family business, was expanded to multiple nations and the duo soon took up positions upon the Principality of Celia’nor’s council after Valyris had been given the first noble title within Celia’nor. From there, the family’s contributions to society only continued to grow to be granted land called the Providence of Asulia on the eastern portion of Celia’nor. As the family condensed and their presence in elvendom grew, so did their development of the high elven culture, arcane inventions, and economic standing where it has continued to thrive to this day. 

 Physical Traits and Appearance

Most Wynasuls are of typical Mali’thill stock and rather lanky individuals, standing at above six feet tall. Most tend to steer away from athleticism and focus on either the pursuits of magic or art, hence the lack of need for being muscular. The Wynasuls will occasionally have individuals with ginger hair, however those that do not, have bright blonde locks. The same goes for their eyes, they occasionally have golden hued eyes and if they do not, they generally have varying shades of green-hues. You will often find more with ginger hair than those with golden eyes yet it is not unheard of.

 Personality and Beliefs 

Oftentimes, those of the Wynasul Talonii are seen as eccentric and overdramatic when it comes to the artistic eye.  They hold a deep passion for preserving and developing the culture of the high elves. The arts and economics are held in a high regard as they are seen as the key to improving the world around them. This belief does not stop at the mundane arts and it extends into that of the voidal as well, believing it to be a tool to enhance the world around them. This leads them to have a very strict upkeep of their appearances and etiquette, leading them to thrive in setting fashion trends amongst the elves. 

Most of the Wynasuls were raised to be passionate and driven individuals from their belief their creative and arcanic gifts should be used to be in service to betterment of their people. This mindset is to ensure stagnation and the faltering of their home does not come to pass again. They often will go to great lengths to defend the development of arts and arcane as viable fields to devote themselves to. This sometimes comes across as erratic and obsessive in some instances, yet ultimately most that speak with them simply understand that it is what they find important as it is what they are best at.

The name Wynasul is derived from the elven words ‘Wyn’,which means happy, and ‘Asul’, which means sun. It directly translates to 'happy sun’, some infer it is because of the bloodline's creative disposition and fiery hair; making them out to be the personification of the sun’s smile.

The head and body of state that rules the government and military of Celianor. Her Highness and her family enjoyed an exceptional lifestyle and privileges. Yet, it comes with great responsibility to bring prosperity and stability to the realm of Celia’nor. Only the Princess may go by the title while her family retains the titles of Lady or Lord.

Evarir ~ Preserver/Protector  
The most prestigious rank within Celian society that can only be bestowed through the High-Princess. This is given to nobility that have proven themselves and their families worthy of creating a fief within the lands of the Principality of Celia’nor. These individuals also retain the right to wear jewelry which are reserved for nobility in and out of the court. While only the head of the house has the title of Evarir, the rest of the family has the prestige that comes with such. This title is passed down through generations and may be revoked by the Princess at any time.

Virair ~ The Vigilant
The Virair title is often granted to esteemed families who have a rich record in their services provided to the Principality. Ones who are given the title of Virair may enjoy the privilege of owning a small estate for a manor. While only the head of the house has the title of Virair, the rest of the family has the prestige that comes with such.  This title is passed down through generations and may be revoked by the Princess at any time. 

Laurir ~ Noble
The Laurir title is often granted to families who have proven themselves loyal and providing to the Principality. It is more than just the individual’s services and progress, but multiple members of a family that have provided to Celia’nor. They are given a manor within the capital of Fi’andria for their service. While only the head of the house has the title of Laurir, the rest of the family has the privileges that come with the title.  This title is passed down through generations and may be revoked by the Princess at any time. 

Lauririi ~ Lesser Noble
The Lauririi title is often granted to an individual who has proven themselves loyal and providing to the Principality. This title is given to a singular person that has done much worthy of nobility.  This title is titular  and may be revoked by the Princess at any time. 

Noronn ~ Kin of the Land
The Noronn title is given to those of non-high elven nobility that have shown excellence to succeed in Celian society and in service to the Principality. This title is exclusive to those of non-elven descent  and may be revoked by the Princess at any time.

SECTION TWO: HISTORY & ORIGINS

    Celia’nor, the city of stars and embers, started as just that, an ember amidst the fire of the world that raged on around them. Yet, amidst that fire the high elven people were left in the darkness. They were led by Ivarielle Ibarellan to found Celia’nor as a haven for the high elven people to prosper  after the civil war of Haelun’or. The families that had assisted with the effort of founding the new city and fighting bravely against the oppressors of the high elves had been given the titles of nobility for their loyalty and bravery. The first of the founding families were that of the Ibarellan, the royal family of Celia’nor, Valwynn, the secondary royal family of Celia’nor which once presided over court, and Wynasuls, who helped with bringing life to the culture.
 

    From this spark of an ember amongst the starlight, the city of Fi’andria only grew into a bustling capital for Celia’nor. More families migrated into the city and more were recognized for their efforts as society continued and grew through a variety of paths. Some families are more militaristically inclined, others through service of society and proving that their kin is productive for the sake of the Principality. There were some such as the Nulvarii who prospered amongst the courts, and the Py’lrie who succeeded in the politics of elvendom for Celia’nor; followed by the Athri’onn who is a family dedicated to the magical arts and creating advancements in the Arcane. All of whom have stood by loyally since the creation of the ember of the Westlands that has burned brightly because of each of these families that have proven themselves worthy of recognition time and time again.

SECTION THREE: PROCESS OF ENNOBLEMENT

    The nobility of Celianor is for the most dedicated of productive members of society. The path of nobility is a versatile one, it is through dedicated service to the Principality of Celia’nor. The paths can be one or multiple, through working in the government as stewards, assisting with the quartermasters, in politics, contributing to magical advancements within the city, running a thriving guild that provides to Fi’andria. Yet, these are not the only ways that one might attain a high standing in society.  It is through stellar progress that the people thrive in tandem with the Principality.  
 

    Once an individual or family has proven themselves and their loyalty to the Principality, it will be announced during court and an oathing ceremony will occur with either the individual's accomplishments brought to light in front of Celian society or the entire family swearing their fealty.

The Athri'onn are a small, new, and lesser known bloodline of Mali'Aheral that are often secretive and intelligent people. They pride themselves on the knowledge they hold and the many different professions they upkeep, such as healers, blacksmiths, and mages. In elven Athri’onn means to be kin to the serpent so many of the bloodline have been described as clever, charming, and cunning.

History

The Athri’onn name did not come into play for a rather long time, originating within the walls of Haelun’or as the family began to collect knowledge and grow. 

The name was created off the Fennic bloodline of Sylric, which then Sylric and Athri’onn became more acquainted with and began to work upon a family shooting off many different lines and generations of Athri’onns. 

A ‘aheral called Durion Sylric… The son of Eirlys Sylric and Henry Lernael , in which Durion would begin to start a line with a woman named Celest Athri'onn, a Mali’aheral woman who was a soldier, and fought for the state. The couple had three children: Renae, Tanyl, and Petra.Durian was a man who’s name graced the tongue of many women, and true to his nature he used this,creating many children who the Athri’onn family would adapt to and eventually invite into the Serpent household. Durion's bastardized line, in part, can be seen today as Leona Athri’onn, Zephyrus Athri’onn, and  Becclain Athri’onn. 

Over time these children have grown and become their own beings, some doctors, some great scholars, and some into magnificent practitioners of the various forms of Magic in this world.

As Athri’onn are mainly composed of fairly tall mali’aheral, it being rather rare for =other races to be seen as members of the family who have chosen to join their culture and beliefs. They have come to be seen with fair skin tones, with some being particularly paler than others. They are seen with a variety of  different hair colors going from ginger and blonde to silver or gray. Along with such they have a variety of eye colors, such as blue, violet, purple, and occasionally green eyes. The Athri’onn tend to dress in very high-class clothing, adorning themselves in the finest that the world has to offer...

The bloodline marking the Athri’onn hold is commonly seen to be on one’s ankle, The marking is to be a secretive thing that the Athri’onns hold upon their bodies, usually hidden under clothes or beneath their hair. This shows the Serpent kin know what it means to be a serpent, “clever , charming, and cunning.”

The Serpent Mates (Finding Love)- Finding love is something that the Serpent kin hold close. When an Athri'onn finds a mate and courts them they are seen to then ask for marriage fairly early on. If themate of the Athri’onn has accepted the proposal they will report said thing to the Serpent Mother, for the Serpent Mother will then begin planning a ceremony of sorts consisting of the following events: the mates festival which includes different games to celebrate the couple, a feast, the wedding ceremony where the couple will come in front of the Serpent Mother, presenting a single gift to one another, and finally they will then say their vows and be wed. 

The Birth of a Hatchling- The birth of a Athri’onn hatchling (child) is something the serpent born holds closely, when a child is born the Athri’onn have a feast to show how grateful they are that a child is born. 

The Hunt- Once a hatchling is born it is a wonderful thing that the Athri’onn celebrate though after time passes by a Hatchling cannot be a hatchling forever, so they are chosen by a Elder of the bloodline which the elder shall educate them in the art of combat. They go through many training sessions over time. Once an elder sees the hatchling is ready to move on, they will send a notice to the family in which they schedule a hot for the family where the Serpent mother or father decide if the child is ready to be a full serpent. If not deemed ready they shall continue training, though if deemed ready, they will feast on the hunt and then be given the serpent marking and become a full serpent.

Family, Always and Forever- The Athri’onn find themselves to care for those they see as family more than anything else. They are taught to fight and defend for them, no matter what the situation might be.

With knowledge comes power- This is a saying the Athri’onn use to  simply say that when one has great knowledge, power shall surely come after it. Such knowledge could be anything that the Athri’onn may use against someone. They pride themselves on being sly in this matter when needed to get what is best for the Athri’onn bloodline.

Upkeep of the World and the Balance- One of the values the Athri’onn hold deeply is no matter what one shall keep the balance of the world. The Athri’onn believe that all things that happen upon this world are members of the balance.

The Serpent Father or Mother- The Serpent Father and Mother are essentially the same thing meant for either a male or female head of Athri’onn, they are to act as the Lord and Lady of the bloodline.

Serpent Elders- Serpent Elders are those who have proven many times that they are and can set the example of what it takes and how to be a serpent. They are the storytellers, and main educators of the bloodline. 

Serpents- These are the ordinary members of the bloodline, these are either the hatchlings who have finished the hunt, and those who have proven themselves to be true serpents.

Hatchlings- The youngest members of the bloodline, those who have joined the bloodline but not completely devoted, those who are either just born or waiting to finish the hunt. They are not tasked with much and much is not expected of them when in the hatchling stage.
