Title I: On Torts and Delicts

Article 1. When a defendant intends to cause apprehension of harmful or offensive conduct, and the act caused apprehension in the victim that harmful or offensive contact would occur, the defendant will be liable for assault. 

Article 2. When a defendant comes into contact with another with intent to be offensive or harmful and the contact is offensive or harmful, the defendant shall be liable for battery. 

Article 3. If a defendant unjustifiably acts intentionally to confine someone without their consent for any amount of time, and the victim is aware of their confinement, the defendant shall be liable for false imprisonment. 

Article 4. When a defendant intentionally interferes with the sole rights of the plaintiff’s property through unlawful possession of the personal property in question and causes damage to the plaintiff, the defendant shall be liable for conversion. 

Article 5. When a defendant intentionally gives a statement of fact with knowledge of the statement being false, an intention to deceive and the plaintiff is injured, the defendant shall be liable for fraud.

Article 6. When a defendant intentionally enters a piece of land privately owned by a citizen of the Principality of Talar’nor, and in some way interferes with the plaintiff’s sole right to use the property, the defendant shall be liable for trespass. 

Article 7. When a defendant gives a statement of purported fact to a third party, whether in writing or through speech, that is false and damages the reputation of the plaintiff, the defendant shall be liable for defamation. 

Article 8. When a defendant intrudes upon the plaintiff’s right to privacy, and the intrusion is objectionable, the defendant shall be liable for invasion of privacy. 

Article 9. When a defendant releases information that is reasonably private, extremely offensive to the average person and is of no actual concern to the public, the defendant shall be liable for public disclosure of private fact. 

Article 10. When a defendant is found liable for a tort or delict under title I, the magistrate shall prescribe a remedy to the offense at their own discretion. 

Title II: On Criminal Offenses

Article 1. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, willfully sets fire to any building, structure, structural aids, or vessels, shall be guilty of the crime of arson, a felony. 

Article 2. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, intends to cause apprehension of harmful or offensive conduct, and the act caused apprehension in the victim that harmful or offensive contact would occur, the defendant will be guilty of the crime of simple assault, a misdemeanor. 

Article 2.1. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, forcibly assaults, or otherwise opposes, impedes, or intimidates any person duly designated by the High Magistrate’s office shall be guilty of the crime of assault through resistance, a felony. 

Article 3. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, uses threat or action to reasonably place another person in fear of imminent serious bodily injury, shall be guilty of the crime of menacing, a misdemeanor. 

Article 4. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, unlawfully seizes, confines, or abducts any person shall be guilty of the crime of kidnapping, a felony. 

Article 4.1. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, kidnaps or detains and threatens to kill or injure another person in order to compel the Principality of Talar'nor to do or abstain from anything shall be guilty of the crime of hostage-taking, a capital offense. 

Article 4.2. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar’nor, extrajudicially detains a resident or visitor to the Principality in order to clarify that person’s identity or otherwise extradite that person without cooperation with the Vira’tir is guilty of vigilantism, a felony.

Article 5. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, levies war against the Principality or adheres to the enemies of the  is guilty of the crime of treason, a capital offense.

Article 5.1. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, conspires to overthrow, put down, or destroy the reigning government shall be guilty of the crime of sedition, a capital offense. 

Article 5.2. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, enlists or engages in combat against the Principality of Talar'nor shall be guilty of the crime of treason, a capital offense. 

Article 6. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, directly or indirectly, gives, offers, or promises anything of value to a member of the Council or the Assembly to influence any official act shall be guilty of the crime of bribery, a misdemeanor. 

Article 7. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, gives a statement of fact with knowledge of the statement being false, an intention to deceive and the plaintiff is injured, the defendant shall be guilty of the crime of fraud, a felony.

Article 8. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor,  enters a piece of land reasonably known to be restricted shall be guilty of the crime of trespassing, a misdemeanor. 

Article 8.1.  Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, uses any degree of force to trespass shall be guilty of the crime of breaking and entering, a felony. 

Article 9. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, unlawfully kills another citizen of the Principality of Talar'nor with intent to do so shall be guilty of the crime of murder, a capital offense. 

Article 9.1 Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, unlawfully kills another citizen of the Principality of Talar'nor without intent to do so shall be guilty of the crime of manslaughter, a felony. 

Article 10. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, robs another of any kind of personal property shall be guilty of the crime of robbery, a felony.

Article 10.1 Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, robs or defrauds the Principality of Talar'nor of any national property shall be guilty of the crime of robbery to the state, a capital offense. 

Title III: On Moral Offenses

Article 1. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, induces a Mali below the age of fifty to perform romantic actions, have an immoral relationship, perform socially rejected practices, or causes physical injury to a child shall be guilty of the crime of child abuse, a capital offense. 

Article 2. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, breeds with another of a different race shall be guilty of crossbreeding, a felony.

Article 3. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, breeds with a member of their direct family shall be guilty of incest, a capital offense. 

Article 4. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, engages in infidelity with another than his or her marital partner shall be guilty of infidelity, a misdemeanor. 

Article 5. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, engages in excessive and/or insulting public display of affection shall be guilty of public indecency, a misdemeanor.

Article 6. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor is found to be wearing offensively revealing clothing shall be guilty of public indecency, a misdemeanor, a felony for repeat offenders.

Title IV: On Magical Offenses

Article 1. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, uses any magic without immediate necessity or otherwise approval from the office of the Laurir Draoi, shall be guilty of the crime of magical negligence, a misdemeanor.

Article 2. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, uses any form of magic without having registered their magical ability with the office of the Laurir Draoi, if not judged to be a situation of immediate necessity or risk to health and safety, shall be guilty of apostasy, a felony.

Article 3. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, partakes in large Voidal rituals or constructions without the knowledge and approval of the office of the Laurir Draoi is guilty of high magical negligence, a felony.

Article 4. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, practices, possesses or obtains any dark magics shall be guilty of witchery, a capital offense. 

Article 5. Whoever, whether within or outside the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar’nor, willingly and knowingly creates a Voidal Tear, shall be guilty of high apostasy, a capital offense.

Title V: On Inchoate Offenses

Article 1. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, knowingly signals intent to commit a crime shall be guilty of the crime of conspiracy, a misdemeanor.

Article 2. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, intentionally incites or encourages another into committing a crime, this shall be the crime of incitement, a misdemeanor.

Article 3. Whoever, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principality of Talar'nor, actively attempts but fails to commit a crime, the individual is guilty of attempting the crime with an equal punishment to that of the crime. 

Title VI: On Criminal Punishments

Article 1. Misdemeanors are the least severe criminal punishment. Suitable punishments involve a fine of 100 to 500 minae, branding of a 1x1 inch symbol on the arm denoting a misdemeanor, or any punishment of equal or lesser magnitude at the discretion of the presiding magistrate.

Article 2. Felonies are the second most severe criminal punishment. Suitable punishments involve a fine of 2000 minae, branding of a 5x5 inch symbol upon the face denoting a felony, death by fire, or any punishment of equal or lesser magnitude at the discretion of the presiding magistrate.

Article 3. Capital Offenses are the most severe criminal punishment only available to the High Magistrate’s Office, or a magistrate duly appointed by the High Magistrate’s office. The only suitable punishment is death in a matter decided by the High Magistrate.
