His father worked in the mine all day but usually had bad luck often getting coal or redstone that were not really wanted by any race compared to the other miners that would get gold and diamond. Because of that Brum's family was very poor and soon his mom went off with a different dwarf because of her husband could never bring in the money. The mom left Brum with his dad who's luck only got worst more because he was always sad and depressed. When it was Brum's turn to be a miner he declined he didn't want to end up like his father what so ever. So the day he was given the pickaxe he threw it to the lava as the dwarfs looked shocked as he left the dark hole that's called Kal'Urguan.

He didn't know what to do he didn't know anything else except to mine. He started to get hungry and didn't have anything to eat. He was in exile of the dwarfs. The only thing he brought was a axe that was his father's prised possession. One day he saw a elf trader passing the road he was so hungry he asked for a piece of bread. The elf declined and then he showed the elf his axe. The elf quickly changed his mind and gave him the bread. He finally saw what he could be good at. He started making a habit of hiding under the bridge and stealing from passing traders and he made out well. Enough so he could buy a house on Whispering Isles. He paid for the house but at the same time his reputation was getting more known.

One day as he exited his house he saw guards that were the race of men, they told him he was under arrest and he was so scared that he pulled out his axe and killed the two. He looked at his hands and saw the cold blood on his hands he started to cry in his bed and decided he needed to leave Whispering Islands. He then that day packed up everything and left at dawn he didn't know where he was going but he knew he couldn't stay there. He then went into the wilderness and dug himself a home in the rock. There he hardened and slayed souls more easily who declined to give there goods or Minas. He got lonely but one day a orc passed his hole his name was Ug he wasn't very smart but he was a kind orc who said he enjoyed to smell flowers and believed in a "bunny god".

They soon stole and killed together when needed to. They became good friends and rich and known across the lands. Although one day he they stopped a guard carrying a diamond sword and told the guard to give it to them. The guard was a skill swordsman and killed Ug quickly soon after a fight not seen in ages Brum killed the guard with his axe. He started to cry for the first time in a long time since he was a dwarfen child. He buried Ug underneath the flowers that he loved to smell. As for the guard he hung his body outside his house. And learned he could never love or care for someone again. Brum now spends the rest of his days on his road not caring for any soul Aegis except his own.

We Survive and Prosper...

Acolyte_Brian finishes writing on the last letter, giving it to the courier. The user who trolled on OOC all the time without getting even a slap on the wrist? The users who could absolutely not physically handle someone disagreeing with them without throwing a fit?

Hello all, Master Sage Riizu here.

...Well, perhaps I shouldn’t go by that name anymore. I want this to feel personal, so I will merely introduce myself as Ryan. Nice to meet those who are hearing of me for the first time, and hello again to those who already know me.

Now, to get to the meat of it. It pains me to write this, but I along with the rest of the Sages shall be leaving the Realm of Aegis. We love this server, and have spent countless hours playing on it. From laying the first block of Haven, to welcoming in the UAC. Watching Okonkwo be abducted, and wandering around trying to find Snowy Fields. Point being, through ups and downs, we’ve all loved the experiences we’ve had, and would do them again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately though, we can’t stay.

Due to discrepancies with the staff, frustrations with individual events, and other things, we, The Sages, feel we must depart. I wish to emphasize one point though, and that is that it is nowhere close to being the fault of any member of the Undead, the fights between the races, or any player. We love this community, and hope that our work could better your experience on this server. I know some of you may be wondering about the upcoming event, but it will regrettably not happen.

Either way, please remember, if you choose to remember any of this, that we love you all. Its been a wonderful summer, spent with wonderful people. It sorrows me to leave, as I know it saddens all the other Sages. Below, you will find their responses.

~Sincerely,

Ryan aka Master Sage Riizu

P.S. We wish Sage Maiavel could have posted here. But we were unable to reach her. If she wishes to post here, she need merely contact us.

Greetings,

It pains me to leave you all in such an abrupt manner as this, however this must be done. I have had a fantastic time RPing with everyone (Garn, Shoi, Zephyr, Vex, all of the great people on the server!). I have also have had a great time building some amazing things, creating awesome events, and making everyone’s experiences better. Everyday logging on to the server has been a joy, and full of unexpected turns and new adventures. Through the up and the downs, I did everything for YOU the players. I spent countless hours developing lore, planning events, and building awesome places not only because I enjoy it, but because I want everyone else to enjoy the server as much as I do. Through all the ups and the downs, the trials and the tribulations, I always moved forward, and always did my best for you guys. I hope you come to realize how much I cared for this server, and how much I wanted it to succeed. I would also like to specially thank all of the members of the Ascended, you are some of the greatest people I have met, IRL or on the Internet.

Despite all of these great events, I fear my time has come. The Sages have been under appreciated for far to long, and we have been mistreated by both players, and members of the GM staff. If this was solely happening to me, I could stand it for you the players. However, when my freinds are mistreated, and devalued as human beings I must leave. Please, remember that I will always look back on this time fondly, and I have genuinely enjoyed spending time with most of you. Do not take this as me disliking the playerbase nor the server. I just cannont stand my friends being mistreated. I hope you can understand, and do not frown upon mine, or the other sages actions.

I will miss all of you, and this server greatly. I hope you continue to enjoy your experience on LOTC, and always remember what great things the Ascended, and myself, were a part of.

With Sorrow,

Jess F. (Sage Sue)

My fellow Aegians,

I have talked extensively with the other Sages and together we have reached a conclusion. While we have had an amazing time on Lord of the Craft, and have met some really great people both in character and out, we think it is time we left.

Recently, something has happened that has made all of us rather angry and distraught. I do not wish to go into specifics here, nor do I want to drag peoples’ names through the mud, but suffice it to say, this was the golden staff that broke the Sages’ backs. To put it simply, we are leaving because we feel we have been mistreated.

That is not to say that this server is a bad place, though. I would like to stress the fact that all of us have had a great time playing on this server. From the creation of Haven and the Ascended to every battle and RP event, we have all put a lot of time and effort into this server trying to make it the best we can.

We did not do this because we felt we had to or out of any sense of trying to take over the server. We did it purely because we loved this server and all it stood for. I know I, for one, have been praying for years for a purely player-driven world where ordinary people could run nations or bakeries if they wish; where they could go to war or quite literally build a new world. When I first heard of LoC, it was like my wildest dreams had come true. When I first logged on and met up with Riizu and Sue, I knew they had come true.

The past few months on Lord of the Craft have been the best I have ever had on any server, and I will definitely be keeping in touch with a lot of the people I met here. Still, it is time we left. It seems a lot of the work we have done has either gone unnoticed or is under-appreciated by some of the staff.

I feel I must repeat myself now, but we are not leaving because we are unhappy with the server. What we are is unhappy with certain staff members. They have made us feel unwanted, however, in this wonderful world we all have created.

I have had a great time on this server. I met a lot of amazing people and I will miss all of you, but it is time we ended this.

Yours in thought,

~Sage Candle, aka Michael, Lore-master of the Ascended

I started this server as a normal human. I fell in love with it. The player base and the realm was rich in content and imaginative in every sense of the word. As a normal player, I worked my way up the ranks having a great time role-playing in the process. Through my merits and my role-playing, I was asked to become an Ascended and eventually became a Sage. As a Sage, I have played my character to the best of my ability for the sake of furthering the story and the enjoyment of the player base.

I have never done any of this for any type of recognition or for the purposes of my own agenda. I did it all because it was what I was expected to do. I did it all for the sake of the server. This is why it causes me much pain to have to say goodbye. Know of my best wishes for all of you and know that you will all always hold a very near and dear place in my heart for giving me such a fun time here. I cannot stay though.

~Sage Arcadius - Korey

Hello Lord of the Craftians,

As some of you may or may not know, I am Blaedr in game, soon to be the Blue Sage after the event. Although I am not as well known to the people, this server, or the community as my friends that have posted before me are, I still felt the need to post my own thoughts on this. A lot of things have lead up to this point, and a lot of thought has been put into these posts, and our course of action henceforth. As you have gathered, we are leaving the server. This is no fault of any of you. I personally have loved my short time here. From meeting all of you, my new found friends, and learning how to RP, it has all been an amazing time.

To the FoA, the Ascended, and my Undead buddies, I will miss you all. I do not want you to think that I, or any one else, is leaving due to the conflicts with the other races. We have had many grand RP experiences and I have had a lot of OOC fun with almost everyone here. But, I can not stand by and watch a friend of mine be belittled, talked down to, or treated less-than human. I am sorry that it has to come to this.

I have come on every day and have had fun, even up to my very last days. Through the ups and downs, the arguments and the laughter, it has been fun. I want to personally thank you all for helping me learn how to RP for the first time. From all of the UAC, the now FOA, the Ascended, and some others such as TehLulu, SapphireShard, Sledder, Orehime, AllenTheGreat, tnfccrew, and the many, many others, I thank you. I wish you luck in your futures, your continued time here, and for the rest of your lives. I hope you succeed in all you do.

Farewell,

The sages are fast at work on setting up a new forum specifically for Ascended members to discuss topics both IC and OOC

We have and will continue to bolster our ranks. Expect a mass recruitment spree soon. Remember to maintain the best RP experience you can! Just because you can't see us, doesn't mean we're not there ;)

As part of our Recluse into Haven, massive work has been done on the structure and leadership of the Ascended. Each Sect will now have specific ways to work yourself through its ranks, specific jobs, and overall, the race will hopefully feel much more "busy."

Ascended will also be seen RP'ing and out in the world more, not just the Sages. We wish to debunk the rumors of "The Ascended don't care" and "All they do is work on Haven."

Ascended players should also look forward to a more definite schedule on classes. We hope to do all trials and classes on Wednesday evenings. This is subject to change, but be well aware that things ARE going to become a lot more regulated.

Also, a bit of a note to existing members. Be aware that your spot in the race is NOT a right. We have and will continue to monitor you. If we feel you are not up to snuff, unfortunately that means we will have to remove you. Please remember its nothing personal.

Last bit. Don't forget that Aeriel's Keep is now OPEN to the public. All of our plots within are welcome for public purchase. Prices are still negotiable, and there's something for everyone! As well as that, speak to a local FoA recruiter. As they say, "Aeriel wants YOU!" If you feel you want to do your service to her, then find someone in the FoA. They'd be happy to show you around the encampment, and get you to work.))

A Notice to the Sages

*a notice is pinned up on the noticeboard in haven*

Flagellum frondoso pellibus, Scourge of the Greenskins.

Kamees, 33rd of Suns Smile, 1315

continued in a text obviously with the aptitude of a skilled novelist, the text upon the parchment is golden in hue and is written with discernable flair*

As the scathing heat of the desert sun in Krugmar beated down upon the robed men wielding staves of gold, a gale of wind disturbed the ancient sands and threw them into the air, seemingly expressing feelings of a predetermined wrath, one that only the robed men could sense the reasoning for. The objectives of the robed men, us, I should state, were clear and simple. Set a whip upon the greenskins, the orcs, become the scourge of such a race, and put them in their rightful place in this world.

We advanced onward, coming to a large sandstone wall, and we knew we had reached the place. The Prophet, adorning his fearsome black robes trimmed with silver raised a staff and muttered some words behind his hood, words of an arcane origin that only The Chosen may hear. Spheres of destruction erupted from his staff, leaving behind them trails of fire and ash. 'Fireballs!' one greenskin cried, quickly enough that his screams were not cut short by our swift judgement. This was not the last to die by us.

Taking advantage of the greenskins lack of intelligence and swiftness to respond, we climbed the spires of Sanhar, the mongrel vermin town inhabiting the orcs, and began to rain down Nether upon the city of sand and dirt. As the sun set, casting an orange glow across the rooftops of the town, the differences between the glow of the sunset became almost indistinguishable from the fiery glow of the fires that were quickly spreading across the city like water upon rock.

At first, just few greenskins threatened to slay us, all unsuccessful, and all suffering the exact same tormented fate as the others who were swiftly cast down with remorseless judgement. Soon, as the vermin heard our lightning from afar, more came to throw themselves at us with such high zest in order to gain some ardent glory from a force superior to them. Such idiocy should not be tolerated. They too were slain.

It soon became apparent, despite the filthy Aengul blood's best efforts, that we would prevail with such ease. It was with great joy that I set the 'great' Sage Okonkwo ablaze with my lightning. I even managed to find the opportunity to chuckle as I watched him frantically search for a way to extinguish the flames. He dissapeared behind a building, I can only assume he perished like the rest. A great blow to their cause, and symbolic of our absolute control over Aegis.

Our thirst for mortal blood being satisfied, we returned to our realm, Drauchriem. I am certain that we sent a cruel and harsh message that struck cold into the hearts of mortal vermin. We have become the whip, the scourge of Aegis. No one can dispute that. The power to destroy something is the absolute control over it. We have that power.

Let us leave this text with these words which will hopefully inspire my brothers and sisters onto great things. If they would give their lives to defend their nation, their world, their entirety, then let us oblige them.

The Ascended

Recruitment

The Ascended are always observing the members of Aegis, looking for those who exhibit the traits of the Aenguls. We look for those who help others in times of need, exhibit unusual valor and courage in the face of great opposition, and have an eye for a unique and pleasing buildings.

DO NOT ASK TO BE AN ASCENDED

The Sages travel the roads of Aegis, and are well informed by devout members who is worthy of becoming an Ascended. If you are picked by the Ascended, you will know as you will receive the mysterious scroll. This is the first step in a long line of trials, which will ultimately lead to Ascension.

Housing

Housing is currently not for sale in Haven. However, shops will be opening soon. Furthermore, our new cities will contain large residential portions, allowing you to live in a beautiful Ascended City.

Goals of The Ascended

The primary goal of the Ascended is to protect the realm of Aegis from all who seek to harm her. At the moment, her primary enemy is the Undead scourge. We have made it our mission to eradicate the Undead from every corner of this great land, and will not rest until our goal is completed. While we primarily fight the Undead, we will not tolerate villains of any sort, nor to do we tolerate those who seek harm unto others.

Race Info

The Ascended are a friendly, yet slightly secluded race. We are working to integrate ourselves into the economy of Aegis, and hope that Haven will become a bustling metropolis when our sister ships are launched! We will have both above ground shops, and some more exclusive ones in the undercity itself!

We are well versed in the ways of magic, and are the most powerful mages in the realm of Aegis! However, we suffer from a lack of physical strength making us weaker then the other races. The Ascended all wear the same robes, with their trim denoting their sect. The Sages, there are six, can be seen with their hoods up at all time.

Battle

The Ascended are more of a defensive force, however we are not afraid to take the fight to the Undead, and have invaded their fortress several times! We are brilliant tacticians and always put up a strong fight! Sage Arcadius is the leader of our warriors, and Sage Sue is in charge of the mages. There may be battles where warriors from all races are fighting together, and we expect that they follow the commands of Sage Arcadius, and treat him as they would their own leader.

All questions should be directed through this scroll.

You have been found to have the blood of the Aenguls running through your veins, congratulations you are well on your way to becoming an Ascended. However, in order to join the Ascended we require a scroll detailing your history and your goals once you become Ascended. Furthermore, we require you to abide by a few special rules geared towards being an Ascended. First of all, you are prevented from being infected with the taint of Iblees, due to the magic of the blood flowing through your veins. Secondly, you are required to travel the realm of Aegis and interact with all of the races. Furthermore, you should always be on the lookout for those who you think may exhibit the blood of the Aenguls. Finally, you must demonstrate your heroism by doing good deeds and being friendly to everyone you meet. Congratulations and good luck. Sorry Sue. But I have some questions:

First of all, when are these spells coming out? The magic update is either tonight or tomorrow, but on the wiki, nothing is added for the Ascended or the Undead. The Ascended really need more offensive spells then a fire aoe that extinguishes. I think a good way to change this spell up is to make the fire extinguish after about 10 seconds, instead of the short 2.

Also, are the 15 spells that you're talking about (Sue) the ones you mentioned in the Magic thread? Because from what I know, Golden Hoes will remain the only magic casting item, leaving out all of your spells except one tier.

I also have a couple spells we should obviously have. Lightning. First of all, Lightning comes from the sky, is made of light, and creates light. Yet the darkest beings in Aegis get to use it? We should at least be able to use it.

We should also have a water/air blast similar to the Undeads fire spell.

So finally, when are these new spells going to take effect? As far as I know, they aren't coming tonight or tomorrow.... So when? I know you probably don't have any solid answers, but the Ascended are really in need of a good magic array.
