The Second Part to an Overarching Story.

It was the next day since the family had returned home to Aedro. The family was torn by the loss, still mourning for the late prince. Their arrival to the citizens brought worries that they might force all under a new prince once more. Though it was not all bad, as the family did bring the new-found wealth that was discovered in the descendants’ land. After hearing the city streets begin to make a bustling noise, Jean Sauvageot walked out of the old Rosier palace to speak with the citizens, finding out all that had happened since the plague had once forced them out of their land. After speaking to a few of the merchants and townsfolk Jean came to the conclusion that the plague had forced Adren, Matria, and Larne to merge all into Rosenyr. What had once been four principalities all merged together in a single landmass came down to all being confined in one city. The mass population killed by the plague. Jean then began to speak around asking who was leading, how the city managed to stay strong when the others left scared of dying by the plague. Jean had come to the conclusion that the population was now run by the people, a small group of leaders elected by the people formed into a small parliament. Once figuring this out Jean quickly ran back to his family, making sure to tell him all of what he had found letting them know that they were welcomed, but the people were hesitant to have a prince once more. Yet, luckily for Jean, his father was already once elected by the people albeit in a new land. After a few days of parliament meeting, they decided to meet with the family upon signing into law a new constitution one that allowed the people to elect a leader but also left the ruling family power so that they too may help lead the people. The power where the Rosnian Prince was still above all but, the people had a vote and a voice….

The first part of an overarching story!

It was the day after Ser Jacques “le fondateur” Sauvageot had been slaughtered by the Empire. His wife Belle and three sons, Jean, Lumiere, and Valentin and daughter Marie, along with Jacques sister, the grand chevalier, Dame Noemie “la honnête” Sauvageot, prepared themselves for the long journey ahead of themselves, to make the trip back to Aedro from where they came from. After saying goodbye, the family, fortunately with more food and jewels from the new land, would be going back to the once plagued land of Aedro. The people had once left the land because of the plague that spread upon it. Now after time, it would be gone and the family could reforge and claim the land for themselves because of the downfall of the Rosier family. The sea was calm, the waves not much as it took two months to reach their lands. Upon arriving at Aedro, the Sauvageot family found themselves in the old city of Matia, completely ruined by the plague and war that had gone down upon the land. Upon trailing around the island they found themselves upon the bustling capital of Rosenyr, the once crowned jewel to the Rosier family now seen fully capable of running themselves the people leading instead of a crowned prince. Upon docking the ships the people quickly rushed to find that instead of a Rosnian prince arriving it was the honorable chevalier family. Upon explaining what had happened in the descendants’ land, the people did not know what to expect. The family in ruins, the last of the Rosnian people to survive the new world, had now found themselves in a city that had no real leader. The people told the Sauvageot they may reside in the palace until the people could decide what to do, now that there was a new Prince back in the city….

For centuries the strong willed and hardworking Ardreni have been the backbone of the Realm of Aedro through their agriculture. They are not only relegated to farming however, as they are also considered the artists of Aedro. Often viewed as the most kind and helpful in all the continent, they carry an unusual altruism to them rarely seen anywhere else. 

‣The Sacking of Adren

Between Rosenyr and Matria sat the city of Adren. In the hopes of moving the border of Matria, the power hungry prince declared war upon the working city of Adren. This slow, gruelling war at first seemed to be frozen in a stalemate. This spurred the Matrian prince to ally with the Rosnian prince, bringing an abrupt, swift end to the war and claiming the land for the Matrians and Rosnians. The following sack of the city was the worst attack in history against the Adreni, committed during this bloody war with the Matrians and Rosenyr.

‣The Faith of Aedro

Unsurprising for the most religious people in the land, The Ardreni established the faith that would be worshiped throughout all of Aedro once all the four principalities were united under Rosenyr. The faith worships many gods suc Heruparkraat, the god of war.

‣The Way of Life

Working has always been essential to the lives of the Adren people. This mindset was reflected in their fashion, often seen in basic clothes and soft colors made to resist the wear and tear of working on a farm. This simplicity can be deceiving however, as there are notable Adreni people known to be master musicians and poets, along with the occasional few who have become actors and actresses. Although most live life dedicated to their agriculture, they also commit themselves to benevolence, spending their day to day life eager to help all they may come across.

The Matrian’s date back soon after recorded history began within the Realm of Adreo, home of the Rosnian people. The Matrian’s originate from the Principality of Matria most notable for their achievements during war often seen as the fighters of the realm. Due to the savage ways the folk are seen as brutal fierce warriors that stain their name.

‣The Way of Life

  The Matrian people commonly wear their iron or leather armor around for daily life always prepared for battle. Many smiths and leather workers are seen throughout the city preparing new gear or repairing it from previous battles. Matrian war heroes are often worshiped and put up on pedestals.

‣Crowning of the Matrian Prince

For the Matrian people their prince has always been the best fighter out of their principality. Most Matrian princes have been depicted as war heroes who come home from a victory and challenge the current ruling prince to an honor duel often causing the prince title to change to different families frequently.

‣The Hundred Year War

The Hundred Year War is often depicted as the downfall to the Matrian’s greed. The war started with Matria sending a full on assault against the Lyrani people. The peaceful folk of Larine had no chance against the militaristic principality of Matria, Larine quickly falling to the Matrians. The second part of the war was when the Principality of Rosenyr sent a full force against Matria. Although Matria split between two cities was not prepared to defend. The city was able to create a stalemate making the war last longer than it was needed. Matria having enough time to send word for their troops to return home to defend their own city. Unfortunate for the people was the Rosnians outsmarted the city by sending troops by their coast attacking the city from two fronts leaving Matria in rubble forcing a surrender under Roseynr. This led to the united Realm of Aedro.

[!] The people of Rosenyr grow tiresome as papers scatter every corner of the principality and are given to the passerbying people of the other many human nations by the ever growing aggravated Rosnian population.

On this day, the people of Rosenyr stand idly by while their culture dwindles, and their hearts grow heavy with avoidable burden.

The people had come here on a single goal; To find solace in these new lands and be free of the soul shivering plague that riddled them before the great departure. However, the upkeep of these lands has dragged through the mud the greatest of soldiers and strongest of leaders, and left in its wake only a dreadful silence and sorrowful regret that does not even stir the ground beneath them. Quietude flows through the veins of the nation, not a soul to be seen in a thousand peripherals of the most gifted.

The High Prince lay in his bed of ashes, too ill and too tormented to lead in any way as death walks a muffled path to his bedside slowly. The High Princess lays in a bed of gold and silver. Her entitled prerogative stays dormant into the sky and reaches the furthermost point of her population, and accompanied by precious jewels carved from the hand of the crone and the unfortunate. Her spendings remain frivolous and excessive and her behaviors disastrous to the little coin that were left from the depleted royal coffers during the Exodus.They watch from the sky in their chateau as the ones who will witness the undoing of their morale and reputation.

Leaders have withered out along with the soul of the Principality, until the poor were left to grieve their own nation. The population was now left a skeleton of its original state and left to fend for themselves and compete with the rest of the rabble.

The Rosnian peoples will not stand by while our nation fades into the land, nor will the population tolerate the obvious neglect by the Royals, no matter the miniscule amount we will have left at the end of the day. Even if it takes the heads of many and the bones of the weak, Rosenyr shall not fall to it’s sovereign’s forsaking of itself.

With the upcoming of courts following the conclusion of the construction of the Palace of Rosenyr, his Majesty Louis II, High Prince of Rosenyr has deemed it fit to bring up a series of Royal Laws for when in times of court, the following shall be the official laws of Court, as when a court is called, all in attendance are required to obey these laws, failure to do so shall result in severe punishment, decided by the High Prince.

Preamble

According to the ancient customs of the Rosnian people, there are certain laws and traditions that must be followed to adhere to the etiquette of the noble court. These customs originate from the divine right granted upon the prince. As customs to address someone graced by the divines themselves, these traditions are not law only through social contract, but through divine contract. And as his vassals derive their grace through the High Prince, the same divine traditions extend to them. Whether in the company of a knight of the High Prince himself, persons of all social classes should adhere to the behavior expected of them.

II.

How to Address the Nobility, Clergy and Gentry

High Prince/High Princess- Upon arrival into the court all must refer to him or her as “Votre Majeste”

Orateur Principal - Upon arrival into the court all must refer to him or her as “Votre Eminence”

Prince/Princess- Upon arrival into the court all must refer to them as “Votre Altesse”

Duke/Duchesse- Upon arrival of the Duke or Duchesse unto the court all must refer to them as “Votre Grace”

Grand Orateur- Upon arrival into the court all must refer to him or here as “Votre Grace”

Count/Countess- Upon arrival of the Count or Countess onto the court all must refer to them as “Mon Lord or Madame”

Grand Orateur- Upon arrival into the court, all must refer to them as “Votre Excellence”

Baron/Baroness- Upon arrival of the Baron or Baroness onto the court all must refer to them as “Mon Lord or Madame”

Lord/Dame- Upon arrival of the Lord or Dame onto the court, all must refer to them as “Mon Lord or Madame”

Knight / Knight-Dame- Upon arrival of the Knight or Knight Dame, all must refer to them as “Sir or Dame”

III.

Attitude During Court

During court all are expected to uphold the traditional standards of old Rosenyr, following as such.

1. All must remain quiet whilst the High Prince is addressing a matter

2. One may not speak unless spoken to, as it is a sign of disrespect

3. Any who dare question the High Princes decree, will be seen as an act of defiance and treachery, and shall be dealt with immediately, as this act would not be taken lightly.

4. One not of noble blood may never touch the High Prince, besides to kiss his ring.

5. When the High Prince enters a room, all present must stand up.

Court Procedure

How to Approach a Member of the Court

1. When approaching any nobility, or gentry, one should either offer a bow or curtsy. This is considered a formality to show respect when addressing someone of high stature.

2. Males should at least bow at the neck. When addressing the High Prince, one should bow at the waist.

3. Females should curtsy in a subtle manner. Dip one’s body downward by bending at the knees.

4. When approaching any noble one should wait to be addressed before speaking. The formality of the conversation should be dictated by the individual of the higher stature and physical contact only made if they initiate first.

5. When standing, keep at attention with one’s hands clasped in front of behind one’s self. No crossing arms nor slouching.

General Courtly Procedure

1. All those who wish to attend court must arrive at or before the specified time. Those who arrive late interrupt the procession of court, and must use the stolen time to offer an apology to the Prince before seating themselves.

2. Once all have arrived, the royal procession will enter the court. The Orateur Principal shall enter first, followed by the Rose Council, the Royal family, and finally the Prince himself.

3. The High Prince will be the first to seat himself. Once he has been seated, the Orateur Principal will follow, followed by the Royal family, and the Rose Council. Only then will the rest of those in attendance to court be seated.

4. The chancellor of the Rose Council will call the beginning of the royal court. Upper nobility will be given the first chance to petition the High Prince and the council. After them, court will proceed according to descending rank, following with lower nobility, gentry, and finally commoners.

5. It is customary, though not required, for vassals of the High Prince to display their undying love and fealty by presenting His Majesty with gifts or homage. In turn, it would beseech the High Prince to return the favor with gifts of his own.

6. When approaching the High Prince and addressing him, one should be sure to adhere to all etiquette laws.

7. After all petitioners have made their case and returned to their seats, the chancellor will call court to an end. The High Prince will rise, and as he does, so will the rest of the royal procession and those attending court. The Orateur Principal will lead the royal procession out of the audience chamber, followed by the High Council, the royal family, and finally the Prince himself.

8. Once the royal procession has exited, court will be dismissed, and all in attendance be free to exit the audience chamber.

Oaths

The Oath of a Landed Noble Unto the High Prince
I, Lord [Familial name of dynasty], son of the woman [mother’s name], swear to you [High Prince’s familial name], High Prince of Rosenyr, that from this hour unto my death or dismissal that I will be faithful to you with regard to your life, and the members of your family, both in good faith and without deception. I will be faithful to you concerning the holding of [fief’s name] and the territory that belongs to it within its entire boundaries. I swear I will neither seize that castle nor its territory, not I, nor any man or woman acting by my advice or instigation. I will help you to hold, have and defend against all men and women who might wish to seize or deprive you of all these above mentioned things. I will give you possession of that castle and that fortress which is or will be inside it as many times as you demand them of me, either you yourself or by your representative or representatives. All that has been said before, I will hold and observe faithfully and without deception, by the Divines.

Of Adreo

While Rosnian is the culture of those from Adreo, it is a broad term for those of the realm. Before the wars that united Adreo, there were four principalities, each of which having a unique culture and appearance. This post is to provide details on the subcultures of Rosnian: Rosynian, Lairnic, Adreni, and Matrian.

‣Rosynian

    Culture

The Rosynian people were always ones of great passion, great leadership, and excellent craftsmanship. Respected throughout the realm, they were major players from the fields of battle, to the fleets of trade which came and went from their realm.

    The people of the Principality were known for their fine clothing, placing fashion and looks above comfort and use. Their prince was known to wear a crown of thorns upon his head as a symbol, despite the harm it would cause to his head. Common colors for their peoples would be black, red, and yellow, each one of the main colors within the crest of the ruling family, the Rosieres.

The Rosiere family has been seen as gods by both the Rosynians, and the rest of those throughout the realm, believed to be capable of winning a battle with no hope. Louis de Rosiere, the first Prince of their bloodline, is the most respected military leader of their peoples, being seen as the only reason they defeated the Matrians in the 100 years’ war.

Craftsmanship, specifically fine brewery and masonry, are something the Rosynians flaunt to those of other cultures. The Rosynians believe themselves to be the best craftsmen of Adreo, something heavily disputed by those of the other principalities. What does stand true to their people, are the quality of their buildings, having stood for centuries without even the slightest discoloration. The masonry of the Principality is a marvel to all who set their eyes upon it, its simplistic look being filled with that of extreme detail.
    Even though the Matrian’s are known for their prowess is combat, the Rosynians are the best strategists within the realm. Originally shown by Louis de Rosiere in the 100 Year’s War, the Rosynians have done nothing but continuously improve their strategy and leadership, besting their opponents through brains, rather than brawn.

    Attributes

Rosynians are known for the bright blonde hair, blue/green eyes, and average stature. While neither the tallest nor strongest, they have brilliant minds and skilled hands, seen through their leadership and craftsman capabilities.

    The Rosynians, compared to the other Rosnian subcultures, are known to harbor thick accents. Speaking in their native tongue quite often. Many outsiders are confused by their dialect, usually causing others to act as translators.

‣Lairnic

    Culture

The Lairnic people are a people of compassion, equality, advancement, and peace. Throughout history, they have kept to themselves, focusing on internal growth rather than expansion.

    Due to their internal focus, the Lairnic people were ones of great advancement. They found new, more efficient ways to cultivate crops, heat their forges, create sustainable buildings and ways to live, create new materials, invent new fighting styles, and many other things which left other cultures yearning for what they had.

    The Larnic people , while creating such advancements, were very humble, seeing those around them as equal. Due to their equality, they did not try to flaunt their status through fancy clothes or titles. They wore simple clothes, such as robes or loose fitting outfits, filled with colors of blue, black, or gold. The Prince and his council lived alongside the commoners, having no castle, no personal staff, nor mass amounts of wealth.

    Those within the Principality were a very superstitious people, their taverns filled with stories of strange creatures, powerful sorcerers stronger than gods, and old ways long forgotten. Some of these superstitions fell around the Followers of The Lyrani, many believing they were once a people of immense power. While the Followers are still a well respected group of fighters, philosophers, and protectors, many believe they have forgotten their true capabilities.

    Those of Lairne, while focusing less time on military might and craftsmanship, are a very knowledgeable people, holding many libraries, research facilities, and research facilities. While saying this, they were a self sufficient people, making their own clothing, goods, weaponry, armor, and anything else they could desire. These crafts produced numerous masters, having many skilled craftsman throughout their lands.

    Attributes

The people of Lairne are best characterized through their blonde or red hair, blue/green eyes, and tall, yet muscular builds. They are not as strong as the Matrians, but they pride themselves in their abilities, whether it be physical, mental, or psychological.

Their people, after the years of realm unity, developed some accent, but most still would be considered to not have one at all. They are fairly fluent in common, not speaking much of their native tongue.

‣Adreni

    Culture

The Adreni, for centuries, have been the backbone of Adreo, a people of hard workers, strong will and strong bodies, they made up most of the workers within the realm.

    The Adreni are the people seen around the farmlands, animal pens, mines, and lumber mills, making up those who work on keeping their people alive, stocked in goods and materials. Their work is not the most glorious, nor the most mentioned, but they are the backbone of all civilization. Their people pride themselves in helping others, seeing their line of work as tradition, a tradition they would gladly follow.

    The Adreni, due to their work, dress themselves in comfortable, yet secure clothing. Loose fitting clothing increases risk of injury, especially in mills and mines. The colors they commonly wear are usually neutral colors, greys, browns, blacks, and whites.

    The Adreni are a very unique culture, sharing very little with the other three Principalities. The Adreni are very religious, following multiple gods instead of one. In Adreo, Rosenyr, Lairne, and Matria used to follow a single god, but adopted the Adreni’s religion after being unified.

    The Adreni people are ones of excellent workers and surprisingly, great actors  and musicians. The Adreni see music and theatre as a way of life, some of their most prominent figures being bards, actors, or instrumentalists.

    Attributes

The Adreni are best known for their brown hair, dark eyes, and strong build. Due to their lives working in hard labor, the Adreni are naturally strong, taking less time than most to gain muscle.

    The Adreni, while having an accent, differs from that of the other Rosnians. The upbringing of the Adreni, is quite different than the others, causing them to be, overall, slightly different than the others.

‣Matrian

    Culture

The Matrian, once a noble people, became shrouded by forces of war. With their rampage through the realm of Adreo, their image was destroyed, soon being seen as savage warriors who wanted nothing but bloodshed. This image, however, wasn’t even close to the truth. Their Prince’s mind, after the death of his wife, was shattered, leaving him with nothing but hate, and a lust for blood. The Prince used his influence to drag his people into war, causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands.

    In reality, the Matrians were noble, but skilled fighters, priding themselves in arts such as fencing and gladiatorial combat. Fighting was considered entertainment and sport, but they were not a people of war. Their militaries were strong and well equipped, but not for attacking others.

    The Matrians commonly wore armor, whether it be leather or iron, dyed or plain, they saw it as a part of their people. No matter the man, commoner nor guard, armor was a tradition for their people, the better the quality, the more respect they saw. This is somewhat related to the Rosynians with their fancy clothing, showing the similarity between the two groups.

    While they are not the most religious people, they honor some of their best fighters like gods. Those who have shown valor and military prowess are seen as royalty amongst the people. In their culture, the Prince can be challenged at any time for the crown. The Prince is usually known as one of the best fighters in the realm, leading to this tradition.

    Attributes

The Matrians are recognized by their brown or black hair, dark eyes, and strong, muscular build. Their time as soldiers, gladiators, or fencers usually brings many scars to the canvas of their body.

    The Matrians are known to have only harbor a slight accent, barely noticeable to most. They are rather well versed in common, but tend to speak in their native tongue at times.

    The Lyrani are a group dating back before recorded history within the Realm of Adreo, home of the Rosnian people. The Lyrani are believed to be originating from the Principality of Lairne, a peaceful peoples focused on self preservation, equality, and peace. These beliefs come from The Lyrani’s similar ideals, as well as their commonality within Lairnic lands.

‣The Way of Life

    The Lyrani are a peaceful people, focusing on the balance between nature and themselves. Their beliefs have been passed on since the beginning of recorded time, having never changed since their founding. While the people are referred to as Lyrani, upon asking them, they would say they are simply its followers. The Lyrani to its followers is a way of life, coming as natural as breathing, as the cycle of nature itself.

    The people of The Lyrani are believed to be pacifists, but that belief is one to be untrue. While they do not accept duels nor fight without reason, the Lyrani do fight when in self defense, defense of family, or if absolutely necessary. In the situations in which they do raise up arms, they are bound to using blunt weapons, the most common of which being a staff. The followers believe killing is not of the way of  the Lyrani, finding themselves taken over by extreme guilt if their opponent is killed at their hands.

    The followers of The Lyrani are easily recognized through their appearance of both a robe, and the staff usually kept on their back. The robes and weapon are both usually unique to each follower, either in color, design, and/or material. The combination is not something required by the followers, but is a tradition. Each follower has a hand crafted trinket, resembling the symbol of a tree, its roots forming a circular outline around it, the symbol of The Lyrani.

    The followers of Lyrani do not surround themselves in luxury, priding themselves in their work. The followers are craftsmen by choice, designing and crafting their own weapons, clothing, and trinkets. Any follower who wishes to live a life of luxury is one believed to have lost the Way of The Lyrani.

‣ The Lyrani’s Truths

    When asking a follower what The Lyrani is, they are more often than not, unable to answer. To a follower, The Lyrani is something that has come naturally to them since birth. It acts as a set of beliefs and common sense, but are neither set in stone, or changing. The Lyrani defines what they believe to be good and bad, of the Lyrani or not. To add to its complication, in some ways it is changing, while not at the same time. For example, fighting is believed to not be of the Lyrani, but fighting in self defense is. While strange to an outsider, this way of life is one that guides its followers in a direction they see to be the best for them and their people.

    Something common amongst the followers are visions within their dreams, something they believe to guide them on their journey. A common vision is that of a strange rock formation, something believed to be a center of power for the followers. This formation has never been found outside of their dreams, but they are certain of its existence

‣ The Ketri

Even though the followers are rarely seen fighting, they are very skilled warriors, capable of disabling groups of enemies with just their staff. As per all things, this skill comes with extreme measures of training. This training is commonly referred to as the Ketri by those who study it. Not all followers study the Ketri, but a large majority do, seeing it as a right of passage upon travelling the world. The Ketri is, in simple terms, a set of positions, guards, and stances in which they continuously practice, going from a very slow motion to that of a speed almost faster than the eye can see. While sounding easy, it is far from it. The Ketri requires perfection within each and every section (Around 30 Sections in total). Failure to move perfectly, something as simple as tilting slightly in the wrong direction, requires you to begin again. Mastery of the Ketri is seen when you are able to perfectly present The Ketri at its fastest tempo, and apply its stances in the art of combat. Those studying the Ketri find it acceptable by the Lyrani to spar with others studying it, as it is purely to learn of their own mistakes, bettering themselves in the process. Many spend years mastering it, as doing so is a great honor amongst The Lyrani’s followers.

    While strange to those outside of The Lyrani, this life is one well traveled by its followers. Those who are loyal to its teachings tend to be truly happy in life, having found their meaning and path at a very young age. Outsiders are rarely taught, only being brought in at the hands of a master. With the Realm of Adreo being decimated by plague, only a few masters are still known today within the Principality of Rosenyr. Even with the loss of many of their followers, The Lyrani continues to be a strong guiding light in the darkness for many.

The Rosnians are a people from a realm undiscovered by the Descendants, filled with that of great trade and prosperity. After a deadly plague threatened the entirety of their realm, they fled by sea, finding themselves on the Shores of Atlas

‣ History

The Rosnians were not always the people they are today. The united craftsmen and tradesmen were once divided, their realm of Adreo divided, their cities covered with the waste of war.

The Age of Princes

After years of growth and war, the realm of Adreo was split into four Principalities: Matria, Rosenyr, Lairne, and Adren. The four, while sharing similarities with one another, were locked in everlasting hostilities, each crowned prince fighting the others in hope of moving the borders in their favour. With the slow movement, the Princes of Matria and Rosenyr decided to join together, focusing all their forces on attacking their mutual neighbor, Adren. With the combined forces of the two principalities, Adren did not last long. Matria and Rosenyr split the land, and their shanty alliance fell apart.

The Hundred Years War

    The petty border disputes did not last long, as the Prince of Matria’s greed continued to grow. Soon, with no real warning, Matria sent a full on assault towards the Principality of Lairne. The war was one easily won by Matria, their armies storming through the lands of Lairne, ransacking and pillaging everything they could get their hands on.

    With the heinous acts committed by the Matrians and their armies, Rosenyr couldn’t sit idly and wait their turn. The Prince of Rosenyr shortly after ordered a full on assault of Matria, something the Matrians had not planned for. The might of the Rosenyr’s did not get them as far as they hoped. With the fall of Lairne, the Matrians sent their forces back to the front lines of Rosenyr, keeping them at bay.

    With no advances being made in the war, the Rosenyrs recruited a new general, Louis Rosiere, to attempt to find a way through. Louis developed a plan, bringing his people to the seas, a form of warfare rarely used in the realm of Adreo. On his command, the Rosenyr forces sailed up the coast, landing just miles from their capital. The unexpected attack left the Matrians scrambling, losing their capital in only a few weeks. After the fall of their capital, the Matrians were weak, surrendering soon after to the Prince of Rosenyr.

The Realm of Prosperity

The war’s ending begun the time of prosperity for the people of Adreo, their united realm leading them to work on other aspects of life: trade, science, and self growth. Due to his outstanding work in the field of battle, Louis Roseire was soon crowned the High Prince of Rosenyr, beginning a long line of nobility from the Rosiere family. The nobility and peasantry of the realm, once divided, now worked together, having both become prosperous from the realm’s new focuses. The men and women of the realm became equals, working alongside each other, taking important positions, and both contributing to the advancement of the realm. The people were happier than they had been in centuries, something they hope would come to last.

The Plague’s Arrival

All good things, must come to an end. Only three decades after the end of the war, rumors of a deadly plague broke out from the eastern coast. The rumors, once believed to be an active cold, was soon found to be anything but that. Within a year, half the realm had been besieged by the powerful plague, leaving all those infected with nothing but a painful death. No cure was found, nor any way of stopping its path. The realm, once prosperous and lively, was now a pile of rubble, its people struggling to grasp onto what it once had.

The Voyage

    With the Plague moving closer and closer to the capital, High Prince Rosiere made a decision that would send his people into the most challenging scenario they have ever faced: He ordered for the healthy to be loaded onto his fleet, and to set sail onto the open seas, in search of a new lands.

    The voyage was a treacherous one, many of those who were healthy enough to set sail dying from the harsh conditions. After almost half a year at sea, the coast of Atlas erupted through the fog, becoming the place they now call home. High Prince Rosiere and the surviving Rosnians, took to the shores, giving themselves a presence in their new world.

Professions

The Rosnians are a people known for their overall abilities in trade, using their goods to make a living for all their people. While they are overall merchants, most Rosnians are excellent craftsman, brewing fine wines, smithing masterful weaponry and armor, painting wonderous pieces of art, all of which were in high demand in their trade. Noble families and commoners alike were renown for their crafts, earning the title of ‘Masters’ once their goods were viewed as a high enough quality.

Appearance

    The Rosnian people are ones who tend to dress rather properly, while not disregarding comfort. Their clothing, while looking rather fancy, would usually be made out of soft and comfortable materials,  allowing them to have unrestricted mobility. Due to being from the Four Principalities, there are four common appearances for the Rosnian people:

Rosynian: The people of Rosenyr are commonly known to have blonde hair, blue/green eyes, and a rather average build. They are a people of fine dressing and cleanliness, but upon inspection, their hands and feet would give light to their craftsman abilities.

Matrian: The people of Matria, while living alongside the others, are considered to be the lowest upon the social scale. Their people, a people of war and greed, have been reduced to lower standards than their time as a Principality. Their people are recognized to have dark brown or black hair, darker eyes, very common clothes, and a rather muscular build.

Lairnic: The people of Lairne, a people focused on craftsmanship, peace, and equality,  one of the more respected sub cultures of the Rosnians. During the waring of the other Princes, Lairne was a neutral party, focusing primarily on their own. The Lairnic people are known to be either blonde or redhead, blue/green eyes, and have a strong build. The people of Lairn situate themselves in comfortable clothes with vivid colors, focused more on efficiency than show.

Adreni: The people of Adren are some of the hardest workers from the realm, spending their times mostly in the fields, or partaking in other essential fields. The Adreni commonly have brown hair, green/brown eyes, and a shorter, but strong build. They dress in common clothing, best suited for their usual work. The Adreni are a people who enjoy their time in hard labor, seeing it as rewarding to be the backbone of the Principality.

After the age of prosperity for the Rosnians, the class system is seen as almost non existent. While there are noble families within Rosenyr, they are treated close to, if not equal to the commoners. Both nobles and commoners see each other as their brethren, more so than ever after surviving the plague that took thousands of lives.

Weaponry

The soldiers within the Rosnian people typically favor polearms and swords, specifically a Rapier or Sabre. After many years of war spread across the realm, fighting to Rosnian people became a second nature. Most Rosnians, if not all, know how to wield a sword, and are expected to be able to hold their own against an enemy.
