With such a large list of Dedicants, it has been decided that to best ensure the organization of the shift to these new lands, all current Dedicants would be put on probation and the list would be cleared. Dedicants who wish to remain in the Order will need to arrive at the new Grove and take, or re-take, the Dedicant's Vow so that they may continue from where they left off in Dedicancy. As you show up and promise into activity and devout-fellowship, your name shall be re-added to the Dedicant list.

Dear Dedicant,

 

It has been decided that the Dedicant list is to be cleared. Do not fret, however! Any existing Dedicants will be allowed to continue where they left off in Dedicancy once they arrive at the new Druids' Grove and take, or re-take, the Dedicant's Vow. Simply seek out the Druid Guide or Archdruid who initially accepted you into the Order and inquire about your Dedicant vows.

This is merely being done to ensure our Dedicant records are only composed of those of you who are active within the Druidic Order. Any Dedicants who have lost themselves in the transfer or no longer wish to follow the path of Druidism will no longer be considered members of the Druidic Order until, and unless, they re-apply for Dedicancy in the future.

P.S. Dedicants may only be accepted into the Druidic Order if they hold no political ties or office and serve no nations above Nature and the Druidic Order. Dedicants are not forced to live in the Druids' Grove but must retain activity and uphold their vows. A Dedicant who is inactive for longer than two years ((two real-world weeks)) without notice and a reasonable excuse will be removed from the Druidic Order. A Dedicant may be removed only by their primary Druid Guide or by any Archdruid at any time for any reason.

In addition to this list-wipe, no new Dedicants shall be accepted into the Order until we officially settle in our new Grove and sort out our records.

Aura sighs, another Dedicant having been made without himself even considered. Even the druii seemed to barely notice him, though he did his best to be heard. He supposed he would just be content to sit in the library and read books, since no one else ever seemed to be there and it was a good place to think. If there had been one place he would've liked to stay, it would've been the Fiandria Mother Grove, though it seemed that even there everyone ignored him and deemed himself, like many other children, unimportant.

An Insight Into Druidic Culture

Druidic Culture exists around the principal of "preservation of nature". It should be noted that if one seeks to be added to the Order, they must understand the true commitment to the following. Most assume that Druidism is a small commitment, and for this reason many are turned away.

From an out of character standpoint, one must understand the process that takes place when becoming a Druid. The Druids are a very proud people, and their culture reflects that. And while it is understood that diverse and unique RP is encouraged for each individual, one must also understand the change in mindset required to become a Druid. "Dedicantism", or the act of learning to become a full-fledged Druid, is an extremely important process. Through different tasks and lessons the Dedicant will learn culture related to the Druids, and more importantly over time grow into our mindset.

What does this mean? Well, first, and most importantly, it means that people who learn to become a Druid ICly become conditioned to think and act like a Druid would. With a strict culture and proud people, having people that act out of the Druid's values isn't something tolerated. For instance, Dedicants are taught to despise and condemn magic. Its use is a perversion and abomination to the Druids, and therefore the Druids do not associate with magic users, usually under any circumstances. When becoming a Druid one would expect the Dedicant's mindset to be changed accordingly.

The most important part about being a Druid though is understanding the wisdom of the elder Druids, for they have endured much and understand many things. True commitment of nature will create a great Druid. Personal gain will only see a Dedicant fail to be Attuned.

The Age of Endless Winters

 

This was the age of Thales. After only residing there for a short while, the winters began to grow longer and longer. Even with Druidic blessings, the crops within the grove struggled to grow, and although the Pine Druid had nurtured a large tree to take shelter under, the bitter cold gnawed at the Druids.

As the peoples of Thales began to build vessels to leave the frozen land, the Shroom Druid Milo and the Arum Druid Dover grew a magnificent boat to house the order on their journey westwards. Many games were played before embarking, and amidst the entertainment the Druids of Seed and Song loaded a mysterious trunk onto the ship. Whilst the Order frantically repaired their boat's wounds (brought about by a giant squid), Captain Alan commandeered the Druidic fleet, safeguarding the Love Sofa and the Holy Pooper through the duration of the great trip to Athera.
