The skins look really good! The detail is impressive, especially in the armour.

I will definitely keep an eye on this! You seem to know what you are doing, and it can't hurt at all to learn more!

So...ima sit back and wait for the shading section of this guide ;)

I use MCSkin3D for my skins, and there's a shading tool called the Burn/Dodge. Basically how I shade is modifying the intensity, and click on an area once, and click twice on the next row I'd like to shade to make the next row lighter or darker.

Update~

 

Added to step #3 (still more to come!)

I use the same tool in Gimp although I don't click bit by bit (takes too long! :P) I do it all in one go by texturing

Fantasticly explained skinning guide!

I am looking forward to see more of this in the future and hopefully it will help me out with my own shading (Its getting there!)
