Physical Features:  Hugues boasts a warrior’s frame; tall, broad-shouldered, and fierce. Flaxen locks betray his heritage as few could discern his ancestry from a common glance, with some regarding the youth as the spitting image of a young Lothar Horen. Hugues was often teased by his father over his ‘elven eyes’ given their bright emerald hue. They have since dulled with age and exposure. His countenance has grown scruff under the duress of leadership, though he still possesses a youthful complexion.

Health: Hugues enjoys a well-rounded diet and ample access to various remedies due to his noble birth. His health is excellent.

Personality: Boyhood mischief and a lack of parental guidance has left Hugues to be a rash youth of low cunning. He lacks the scruples and cautions of greater men. However, underneath his dismissive exterior remains a willful and kind youth of high aspirations.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. While Hugues does show inclinations towards good rather than evil, he lacks the moral constitution which defines good and immoral ambition that defines evil.

Deity: The Creator.

Religion: A lax adherent of Canonism. Hugues enjoys the stories and sagas of the Canonist saints but has no particular attachment to theology.

Strengths: Hugues has a thorough knowledge of diplomacy and history given his noble upbringing; a quick mind which few get to witness due to Hugues’ reluctance in demonstrating his intelligence. He possesses a wild charisma which both alienates and inspires. His singing voice is said to be chipper and sweet to the ear.

Flaws: Hugues has a tendency to leave a poor first impression on people due to his personality. Snide, arrogant, and cynical, Hugues often is unable to conceal quips and japes in conversation. His sharp wits and sharper tongue have left him with few close friends as most peers dismiss his colorful remarks as genuine insults. 

Hugues is also rash and shameless with little concern for the ramifications of his actions. He is apathetic to anything he has not earned or sought out, creating deep tensions when confronted with unwanted duties.

Weaponry

Fighting Style: Hugues assumes balanced stances in combat. He reads his opponents well but lacks the strength and stamina to capitalize on his predictions, making him a middling fighter. He readily employs unorthodox tactics in combat, however, to mitigate his inadequacies.

Trained Weapons: Being a squire and noble, Hugues has trained with a myriad of melee weapons. He has had long-lasting training with most daggers and swords, while his experience with axes average, his experience with polearms mediocre, and his experience with blunt weapons woefully lacking. However, given the versatility of a sword, he can manage other melee weaponry with adequate ability.

Favored Weapon: The longsword is Hugues’ weapon of choice.

Archery: Growing up in a hunting environment, Hugues has had ample exposure to ranged weaponry. He is a fair shot, though he prefers the thrill of melee combat. His favored ranged weapon is the longbow, believing crossbows and arbalests weapons employed by cravens and cutthroats.

Family

Parents: Victor de Montfort and Helaine Chivay are Hugues’ parents. He has a begrudging respect for his father as he does with many authority figures and mourns his loss. Hugues was closer with Helaine growing up, but adolescence tainted their once loving bond.

Extended Family: Hugues descends from the Carrion and Chivay bloodlines. Hugues has an appreciation for his Carrion and Chivay heritage but, oddly enough, is distant from his Tuvic kindred, another hybrid line of Carrion and Chivay.
