History

On the date of Hammond’s birth, His father was several cities away, leaving his mother and her maid to go through his childbirth alone. Fortunately, his mother survived the childbirth, and around a week later, his father finally arrived to view his newborn son. They named him Hammond Alexander Sarnir, his middle name in honor of his grandfather. They raised him the best way they knew how, by showing him the wonders of the world firsthand, for you see, they were a relatively wealthy family. His father and mother showed him the world and gave him as much wisdom as they possibly could.  His father schooled him in writing and taught him the importance of words and vocabulary. He also tried to teach him how to fight, but Hammond refused. His father told him “Knowledge is a wonderful thing son. It can be used like a weapon, if your tongue is sharp enough.” He began to write verses and words down as fast as anyone could.

His father worked as a librarian, and his mother as an innkeeper of a successful tavern known as “The Loft”. But surely a librarian and an innkeeper shouldn’t be this wealthy? His father acted very suspiciously whenever Hammond asked where they get so much money. His mother didn’t seem to know where it was coming from, and he wasn’t getting any answers. One day his father sent him out to get the letters from the roost, and Hammond found a peculiar letter addressed to Mister Joran, his father. It said;

Dear mister Joran,

I hope this letter finds you in good health, and in prosperous enough position to put wealth into the pockets of people like me. You see, that was my wife who you’ve decided to F**k. So therefore on top of the massive debt you already owe me, i expect 1500 minas monthly to be flown before me, If the price is right, you can keep seeing my ***** wife. if not i’m telling your wife.

Sincerely,

You know

Hammond raced inside, stashing the letter in his bed. He denied that his father, the man who taught him everything, could possibly be involved in such a mess. He kept the letter secret. The next couple of months were shaky for Hammond. His father was acting strangely, and coming home extremely late. Joran asked him several times if any letters had arrived for him, before Hammond gave up the letter. His father cried and remained locked up in his room for days.

When he was 10 his father split, full of it, debt ridden. Two years later see Hammond and his mother bed ridden.. They were half dead, sitting in their own sick. Hammond got better but his mother went quick. He was devastated, and his cousin took him in. However, his cousin was not the most mentally stable mali on the planet. After racing around for a year with his cousin, the cousin committed suicide.

With ruined pride, Hammond retreated to the only thing that he knew and he wrote his own deliverance from his fate. He worked for a while, at the docks. The people of his town were so impressed with his skills as a writer that they sent him to the elven city of Laureh’lin so that he might someday write his way to glory.

Now:

After arriving at laureh’lin, Hammond found that affairs were much more complex than he realized, and he spent some time writing various essays and letters, attempting to jar the more extreme opinions on various issues around Vailor, hoping that this would give him an idea of where the people’s hearts lay. He quickly found that the elves would hold their grudge against the humans and he departed with this knowledge. He lived alone, in a small hut, learning whatever skills he could for about seventeen years (To account for some time off of LoTC) He mostly focused on honing his philosophical ideas, fine arts skills, and his writing. He focused very little on combat, only doing enough to protect himself against very minor threats. But what he did do, was attempt to bulk up, gaining a fair bit of muscle in his time in the forests.
