Daemon's Wrath

General use:

Poison

Description:

A red, Seemingly harmless flower that grows in forests. It's quite uncommon, Though easy to spot due to it's color. If the flower is put into hot water, It's spores melt and stain the water dark red, easily mistaken to be wine. If the spore-water is consumed, it would slowly begin to sap out the consumer's strength, And after a few days, cause their death. While not being cure-able, It's slow spreading allows the one that's poisoned to try and get it out of their body.

While the spores are effective, Grinding the flower's roots would result in getting a brown-ish dust. It melts in liquids, but can also be put on bread. If it creates contact with flesh or blood, The bits of dust become larger and larger, usually causing the consumer to choke on them if not force his neck open due to their immense size.

Thornweed Bushes

General use:

-The Twigs

The twigs aren't really used for much, but they have a multitude of thorns that one might be able to use for a dart of some sort

-The Leaves

The leaves, if burnt, produce a green smoke that gives the person who inhales the fumes a sense of calm and peace - though if too much is taken, it can cause one to cough

-The Roots

The roots have no special property, but they do have a lovely taste if cooked in a kettle for tea.

Description:

The bushes themselves are hardly deservant of the title, and look more like small green shrubs, but each branch has a multitude of leaves that cover sharp and irritating thorns. These thorns often cling to clothes and, when on the ground, act as a form of seed, giving rise to new Thornweed bushes

They grow wild, and are found all across the lands.

(Name) Ashwood Tree

General use:  it's syrup makes for a strong drink, it's certainly not healthy though, and it makes for a powerful sterilizer, and disinfectant.

Description:

fQfn8b3.jpg

Ashwood, originally located on an island in Vailor named Avar is a cousin of the Elderwood which has been long used as a symbol of hope, and longevity to the peoples of Norland. The Ashwood is a deciduous tree that is able to be burnt, yet not harmed by flames, it’s bark is nearly as hard as steel when still attached to the tree.

The ashwood tree, similarly to it’s cousin, the Elderwood tree only retains it’s amazing properties when it is alive, however, unlike it’s cousin, it cannot be shaped into walls, houses, weapons armor etc it’s bark is too hard for that, it simply grows into a beautiful tree with near uncuttable bark.

Every spring, the Ashwood tree grows brown, orange and yellow leaves, gathering the small amount of sunlight that it needs, then in the summer, the tree secretes a powerful flammable liquid which is called “Ash Syrup”, and eventually, the heat will light the tree on fire, burning away it’s leaves and dying bark, this can be done manually if the climate is too cold for the tree to catch fire naturally, if the Ashwood tree catches fire too early in the summer, and the leaves die too quickly, this can leave the tree in a sickly state for the rest of the year, however, if the fire is started before the tree has secreted enough Ash Syrup, it will not burn the leaves fully, and they will fall off at the end of summer, leaving the tree in a fair state of health.

potseed310.jpg

Once a year during spring, it drops a giant heavy dark seed from it’s branches, these seeds can live up to 2 years before they lose their use, the seed is extremely heavy, and must be carried by multiple people.

Ashwood can be burned by natural, and magic fire, though the only type that will cause harm to the tree is the latter, not all types of magic fire can burn this tree, however, beings with overwhelming strength harness the power to harm the tree with fire, however it’s certainly not the easiest way to harm the tree.

Ash Syrup can be consumed, and it acts as a heavy depressant, giving a similar effect to alcohol, it tastes horrid however, and is often used by performers to spit fire, the liquid is known to cause hallucinations, sluggish movement, and dulled senses, it is a powerful sterilizer and disinfectant.

The Tree’s weakness lies in its soil, since the tree is deciduous and does not have leaves for over half the year, it cannot absorb as much sunlight as other trees, it mainly relies on nutrition from the soil and water.

After many hundreds of years, the tree will die, burning itself with a spectacular blaze until it’s burnt into nothing but ashes and a single dark seed buried underneath the ground, this process usually lasts two weeks of non-stop burning.

(Name)LifeBloom

General use: Healing small wounds and cuts, along with , if mixed with redstone will look and taste like blood but have no smell. If heated up it will turn black and be more acidic but if chilled to near frozen it will become more darker color and will dye things better. Anything the regular Bloom Liquid touches if given enough time it will dye the thing purple such as purple diamonds.

Description:

The life bloom flower is a flower that is a purple/pink flower that is shaped like a small bowl at the tip of the flower it has a yellow liquid in it that has special effects with other things. Any block it touches it will stain it a purplish color and break it down replacing it with a purple version of it.(such as if a diamond was bathed in it the flower's liquid would replace it with a purple/pink diamond.) If the liquid was spilt directly onto grass it would instantly sprout a smaller form of this plant where the liquid dropped. If it is applied on skin it will heal minor wounds, such as small cuts and other small wounds, and make the affected area look purple and will slow muscle movement of the affected area(about a full IRL day). When the flower gets to its max height of 7m tall it would have around 3 bottles full of Bloom liquid ready to be harvested, after taking it all it would take awhile to refill (1 day IRL). IF the Bloom liquid was put onto or mixed with Redstone it would make the liquid look and near taste like blood but would have no smell. The flower would take around a year to fully grow to the height of 7 meters (One IRL week). After it is fully grown it will live as long as it is warm around it. Other experiments have been tested on the liquid and if it is put above a heat source for a long time it will begin to turn black and it will be more acidic than usual and would burn more then dye. But if kept at a very cold temperature before freezing it will become pinker and dye things better than before. Each thing it is mixed with will change its effects.

General Use: Other than the Zhabe, no other group has found a true use for them. They are dangerous carnivores, and avoided by most.

Description:

Found in the upper elevations of the jungle, the Snake Vine Plant “Gaja” first grows onto one tree, using it as a source of nutrients, before spreading out into other trees to form a sticky array of vines. Usually large herbivores would eat the Gajarpan, but it evolved to ensare larger prey and any inhabitants who touch or make contact with the vines.  Once one vine wraps around the target, the rest begin to curl around the target, ensnaring them like a spiderweb. The thickness of their vines makes it strong enough to be able to raise a human if well developed, and maybe even kill an orc that attempts to mock or toy with such a great plant. The Zhabë have studied these plants extensively, setting up traps for even the biggest animals, then later returning at the root to get their reward. Their homelands are filled to the brim with Gaja, to the point where they are indistinguishable to the foliage upon the trees.

General use: Another Carnivore, the Glokan has no real use other than a threat, as its wild and unpredictable nature has made it impossible to study or find a use for.

Description:

Said to be another creature of Glutros, the Glokan have evolved to hunt within the dark axian jungles. Be it a pig, bird or leopard, the Glokan’s hunger extends to anything that it can fit into its massive maw.. Covered in barbed thorns and thick as bamboo, this enormous plant towers at six feet and can grow up to nine feet. Its large head will, in most cases, be a third the size, with a few rare exceptions, where the head may grow up to a half of the plant’s size. Due to its massive size and clear danger, it leaps out at its prey rather than wait for something to fly into its mouth. The Glokan drips a pink saliva that attracts prey with its sweet scent, which is said to smell of the sweetest flowers.Once an animal grows close enough, it lunges out with hook-like teeth to swallow its prey whole.

Arrisk

General use:

Narcotic

Description:

laxifolius4.jpg

An arrisk is a conifer shrub that grows in groups along mountain ridges, in areas where not many varieties of foliage are capable of growing, or mountain meadows. It typically grows to be around 16 inches (.4 meters) in diameter and 18 inches (.45 meters) high. In the summer, if it is in a fairly temperate area such as a meadow, the shrub can fruit, giving off fleshy red cones that can can be eaten like berries, however they do not taste particularly good. If they grow these 'fruits', some of the leaves will flatten out and look a little bit like scales on a fish, and oftentimes these leaves will form around the berry, making it look almost like a flower. Due to the windy atmosphere it finds itself in, arrisks grow roots that go deep into the ground and then grow tiny barbs so they have a firm grisp on the ground around them and will not risk being blown away in particularly harsh winds. Its roots, when ground up, create an extremely potent drug named Rusk.

Rusk

Spoiler

Rusk is a depressant that comes from an arrisk shrub. Its roots can be ground up and snorted to create a highly addictive drug that causes a state of delirium, making the user feel tired or drowsy. Common side effects include a decrease in appetite and making the user forgetful (i.e. forgetting things he said a few minutes ago, where he put stuff, nothing major). Rusk should only be taken in very small doses, as what might be considered a medium sized dose for something such as quartz dust can cause memory loss and muscle atrophy. Due to the potency of it, a tiny sliver of the root the size of a sewing needle would be enough to make a grown human male high if ground up. Arrisks don't have a particularly large amount of roots, but due to the portions that it is typically consumed in, a single shrub can supply someone for a very long time, and as such it is usually fairly inexpensive.

Dosages and Side Effects

Spoiler

Rusk should be taken in very small quantities for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, because of its addictive qualities and side effects, it can quickly lead to someone wanting to ramp up their dosage. Secondly, it is an incredibly potent drug, and it does not take a lot to overdose and die. And as such, all doses need to be measured very carefully. To a 200 pound adult human male who had never had Rusk before, 100 milligrams (a small dose) of Rusk would be enough to get you very high. A full grown 350 pound Orc or 230 pound Dwarf could take 150 (a medium sized dose) to achieve the same effect. However, for even a fairly bulky Elf, it is extremely important to keep your dosage extremely low, as a tiny dosage to one would have the same impact as a small dosage to a human, unless they are exceptionally resilient. And while Ologs have the highest tolerance for this drug out of the descendants even the hardiest Ologs should be extremely careful when considering increasing the dosage. But, of course, with the increase of dosage, the state of delirium gets much more powerful to the point of becoming, according to the few that have managed to survive tremendous doses, something akin to a coma, with the user completely aware of himself, but doesn't respond to any external stimuli for as long as they are in this state.

Keep in mind that usually you will not feel every side effect. At tiny, a human or kharajyr will typically only feel one side effect, and an Orc or Dwarf none. Here, it goes up linearly, with small meaning you would feel two side effects, and an Orc/Dwarf one. At medium, however, a human would usually get three short term side effect and one long term, and an Orc/Dwarf two short term. At large, a human would have to start worrying about overdosing or risking a major health complication, and would get 6 short term side effects and two long term side effects. An Orc or Dwarf, at this point, would get four long term. At extra large, a human would almost surely reach the point of having some life endangering side effect or just flat out death by overdosing. Here, an Orc or Dwarf would also begin to risk death or causing some major health problem. These doses can continue to go up if somebody really wanted to try and press their luck, however anything over 300 milligrams is near certain death for even the healthiest of Orcs. For Elves, take their dose and move the side effect scale up one, so a tiny dose would be equivalent to small, and so on.

Preparing Rusk

Spoiler

Making and preparing Rusk is fairly easy. Acquiring the plant needed for it, though, can be a bit more difficult. Since arrysks grow high up on mountains, and on areas where you could be near a steep dropoff, you need to be extremely careful. To get an arrysk's roots safely and efficiently, it's suggested that you bring some very warm clothes, a shovel, a knife, and something to secure yourself to the mountain. Once you have secured an arrysk, try to dig around the area to get as much of the roots as you can. Next, you should cut off the shrub for the sake of convenience, but that is not a necessity.

Once you have brought the roots back to wherever you wish to prepare them, all you'll need is some water to wash the roots off, and a mortar and pestle, to grind the roots up until they are a fine powder. After that, you should have a bowl of a brown-grey powder with a scent similar to peanuts. Make sure to carefully measure out the amounts of this, using whatever method is most convenient to you, but a good rule of thumb is to take a tiny blade of grass and put the Rusk on it. Then wipe off all excess powder so the only powder left is what's in the groove on the blade. That should be a fair estimate, but it is highly suggested you find more accurate ways to measure this before taking any Rusk.

Description:

This tree is often found in deep in healthily forested areas and grows to be up to 70 feet tall and has an abundance of sap which draws many insects to it, but the tree is less known for its sap or insects but rather for the high amounts of birds which flock and nest or visit the tree for its insects which provide an easily accessible amount of food. The food is so abundant that the birds often aren’t even territorial about the tree.

Description:

This is an invasive plant that tends to hang from trees and continue to grow to incredibly long lengths but the vines will snap towards creatures that move too sporadically and on an off chance, very seldomly, the vine will wrap around the creature or one of its appendages and quickly coil which pulls the creature to the beginning of the vine. Sometimes the plant will end up dislocating joints, breaking bones or sometimes even hanging a creature.

General use:

Pain reliever

Description:

The tree grows in very warm climate areas, specifically places that see plenty of rainfall. The tree typically grows to be about 18 feet tall and would take up a large amount of land because of how the branches tend to spread out over a wide area. The remarkable feature of this tree is that it’s bark is very thin and peels off easily (without damaging the tree which has several layers of bark at a time) and the bark makes a great pain medication. The bark can either be laid directly on the tongue or it can be made into a tea. The pain repressing effects will be very powerful but the senses will be very overwhelmed for the first hour after it wears off. A handful of the bark will dull your sense of touch for a day, a pinch of the bark will dull it for a half hour.

(Named this because it is often used by orcs after battle or training or attacks, so it was named after their spirit of health, vitality and healing.)

Starlit Monacrie (Mon-ah-cree)
--=--

Spoiler

d6f489ec44c1e2a2eb160f19fa24ad53.png

(Art by gucken on deviantart)

---=---

General use:

Alchemic Reagent/Light production

Fire wood/Construction/Tools/Anything you can think of for wood similar to oak wood.

Description:

A tree that is as a figment one might imagine in their dream. A light at the end of the tunnel for an intrepid cave spelunker which has delved far too deep. In the end they see the whimsical oak surrounded by murky waters. Its glow cascades throughout the cavern like a beacon of hope; the explorer might feel at ease, or that he might make a wish and somehow it could come true. In all honesty, these are but delusions produced by an addled mind from viewing the beauty of the oaken splendor in the midst of disparity. It's a magnificent sight, but nothing more.

The Starlit Monacrie is a bio-luminescent tree often found in damp, shaded or dark areas of moderate temperature. It is both visually and physically akin to an oak tree, but not quite of the same breed. It acts much like a willow by finding itself near sources of water, where it might even hang over it on occasion. The distinction is made by its expansive glow, able to match even the brightness of a torch in some cases. This is caused for the most part by an unknown chemical reaction performed naturally within the plant.

Its sap is a thick glowing sludge which gives off the brightest light of any part of the tree. The bark and leaves of the tree only glow externally because of this internal substance, giving off an eerie translucence. A thin oil tends to excrete from the bark or leaves which is a less potent, filtered version of the internal sap, glowing faintly. Most botanists or scholars have trouble pinpointing the exact reaction which allows the tree its luminescent qualities, but it is known that the glowing will eventually cease should the tree be killed or disallowed sustenance in the form of water and nutrients expected in a tree of its size or type.

The main use one might get out of this tree is of the glowing sap itself. The sap of the Starlit Monacrie maintains its glowing properties for quite a long time after extraction and may be used as a moderate water symbol, with representations of light and hope. Despite the sap eventually ceasing its glow, the actual applications of it may still result in potions capable of producing harmless light. Beyond that the tree might serve as fantastic scenery, giving off an exquisite glow throughout darkened areas. Finally, the tree may be felled and used as lumber similar in quality to an oak tree's.

Redlines:

1. No harder than oak wood.

2. Grows only in damp, dark areas.

3. Sap is non-toxic and completely edible if one is not allergic to it.

4. Tree will eventually cease glowing should it be killed, becoming effectively oak wood. Sap eventually loses its glow as well unless used in an alchemic recipe.

Name

Golug-hai Lûl

General use:

Acid to melt solid things (in a reasonable way)

Description:

Golug-hai Lûl

“Elven People Flower” - as named by Eath’Lur

The swamps are full of wonders, and so are the acid flowers. These flowers are eaten by the frogs also known as “parhor”, and they are what gives the acidic touch to the parhor fal and neutralizes its smell a bit. They are an important source of food for the parhor’s where there aren’t the mushrooms that they eat and also the other way around, but, luckily, there’s a way to extract that acid by hand.

Reproduction

To reproduce, the seeds go out on the excrete of the parhor’s because bees are afraid of them to death. Ironically, the acid is also it’s biggest enemy; the seed can’t sprout until the excrement of the parhor fal wears completely out. Small farms of these are viable.

Potency

The acid of the elves were a good reason for them to boast themselves. And they were right. These flowers will never come as close to the elven acid, one of them is because of the amount of acid that one of these flowers can be found, and it’s never as strong as the elven acid, no matter how well it’s grown. Yet, it’s acid, and it can dissolve most things. Yes, it can dissolve people, but it’ll eventually wear out, which makes that, if one wants to kill someone with this acid, it’d come out to be highly expensive and not worthy at all.

Extraction of acid

For one to extract the acid, he must smash the petals while it’s on hot water, then, take it off and allow the sun to boil the water out of the acid, leaving only that deadly thing behind.

LM Approval Required:

Yes. Eath'Lur is the most knowledgeable on the plant due to the fact that he had discovered it's primary use. Also, who visits the swamps besides @Travista nowadays?

Red lines

- The acid has a very slow action, yet, give it time and it can melt even skin

- Pools of these would come out to be extremely expensive, and not worth at all considering it’s potency. It’s more used for alchemy and other things

Nightglow

General use: Decoration, Poison or Ingredient in food.

Description:

Nightglow is a beautiful blue bioluminescent flower which is very flexible and small. If one were to go looking for this specific flower they would often find it next to a water source all by itself, but it would look like any other blue flower in the day until it opens up and shows its bioluminescence at night.  The flower requires a very specific environment to grow, such being a place where it can get quite a lot of water and shade, as it dies in sunlight very quickly.

If one were foolish enough to eat or ingest this small flower a deadly poison would lay dormant in their system for three elven(or stone) hours before the person's heartbeat increases sharply, along with dry sweat and nausea. About a minute after these symptoms show, cardiac arrest and death soon follow.

The use of this flower is mainly for decoration but those few whom have knowledge about this flower's properties can use it to make extremely lethal poisons, but if the plant is boiled in water for a day then the poison will be rendered null and it would then taste sweet, almost like nectar, allowing for a most interesting ingredient to a sugary treat.

Phoenix' Teardrop

General use: Medical & Decoration

Description:

Phoenix' Teardrop is an herb that is rare to find in the wilderness, as it requires a very steady climate found in warm places such as jungles or near hot springs so that it can stay warm because it freezes to death in cooler temperatures found in most of the other parts of the world.

At first glance this flower looks like a lily, but upon closer inspection it would prove that to be false, as the petals glisten in sunlight. The flower grows in clumps of fours to fives, and each flower's size contributes to its average height of a rose bush.  The people who are able to obtain the knowledge of this herb's properties count it as an extremely useful herbs in the field of healing.

Further to note; if dried, the flower's petals can be crushed into a powder to mix with sap to create a sticky, yet very effective medical reagent, as its properties speed up the healing of tissue, bone, and other parts of a person's body by a substantial amount.  But every wonderful healing flower has a downside, this one's downside is if you use too much of it (using more flower than sap itself) then it will leave cysts filled with some blood that the substance came into contact with, being very painful if popped, but will eventually fade if not messed with but if the sap that the herb is put in is out for too long, the effects will be rendered inert, making it purely useless. Another thing to know is that the stem of the flower is very sturdy, and if snapped it releases a red liquid that if consumed puts one in a sort of trance filled with hallucinations, and one would also fall unconscious after about ten minutes of the hallucinations, waking up about an hour later with a strong headache.

Chimera Weeds

General Use: Reagent (Symbol of earth)

Description: Poking up from the debris on forest floors, this twisting, black weed absorbs pieces of dead and decaying animals, insects, and other plants. Instead of digesting these pieces, it sustains them in a zombie-like state and treats them as its own appendages. However, it cannot sustain anything much larger or complex than a human’s thumb. The weed is covered in small, hooked spines, and a dark, sticky mucus resembling motor oil. It is most common to see parts of insects stuck to the plant, like dragonfly wings or beetle legs, which may twitch slightly if touched. If a section of the plant that has been cut that has no parts of other organisms assimilated into it, it cannot successfully be used as a reagent.

Murex Cactus

General Use: Reagent, hallucinogen (Symbol of water)

Description: An odd little cactus with a squat, spiraled cone structure. It is named after the murex shell, a type of conch featuring long spines. The murex cactus is covered in small barbs, but features several larger spines positioned along the path of its spiral. The cactus is partially hollow, with walls in its interior that break up its spiral into thin pods. Each of which are filled with a clear sap that causes vivid, primarily positive and fun hallucinations if drank in large enough quantities. Fumes from burning the sap can also cause hallucinations if inhaled.

Assecula

General Use: Reagent (Symbol of air)

Description: A parasitic root-like structure found growing latched onto tree roots in moist, pitch black caves. It is very picky about its environment and is thus quite rare. It is pale blue in color, semi-transparent, and very thin; almost like worms or hair. It is hard and glass-like to the touch, but if exposed to any sunlight, (or an excess of torchlight or magelight or other light sources,) it will soften and lose its magical properties. To ensure its use as a reagent, carry it in a padded, sealed, opaque box. If eaten outright, it tastes bland and watery and has a texture like string bean skins.

Ant Blight
General Use: Reagent (Symbol of earth)
Description: An uncommon yet quite interesting plague on most types of fruit trees, (and primarily found in orchards where fruit trees are tightly packed,) the Ant Blight fungus appears as a swarm of tiny, shiny black spots on the bark of a tree. However, its interconnected roots can run fairly deep, as it must be able to drink from its host’s water supply effectively. The ant-like spots range in scale from roughly the size of a mustard seed to the size of a pinto bean. They release their spores around the early spring months, but can also spread through the fruit of the trees they infect. Fruit from trees infected with Ant Blight develop tumor-like growths and other grotesquely mutated features, and taste rotten and disgusting if eaten, like the 'ants' themselves. The seeds from inside these fruits, if planted, are guaranteed to grow trees that are also contaminated by the blight. If farmers notice Ant Blight growing in their orchards, they would do best to hastily cut off and dispose of any branches covered in the black spots before it spreads to other trees. One cannot remove the blight simply by scraping the ants off, for if the roots are still there, they will just grow back.
