Panashea 2643 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Offerings to the Spirits The orcs of the Uzg have been known to revere the Spirits since the beginning of their history, praising the embodiments and elements of the world around them. However, those outside of this ritual are unaware of its practises and blessings. The spirits are the foundation of this world, being a part of all things. There is a spirit to every aspect of life, and as such orcs devote their adoration to what suits them. A hunter may offer half his kills to Votar, the Spirit of the Hunt, and in return, is blessed with large game or plentiful snares. A troubled elder orc may seek guidance, offering Literature and knowledge to Betharuz, Spirit of Knowledge and Wisdom, and in return, receives his answer in a dream far too real. A warrior who sacrifices the dishonorable to Laklul would find the swamp easier to navigate, and his foes trapped in the thick muck and grime. The balance of the spirit realm was shattered by the Immortal Spirit of Pestilence, Orgon, granting him godly power in the mortal realm. All spirits seek this sort of power, and as such, bless their worshippers with gifts in hopes they too receive such power. However, the spirits are fickle and wicked beings beyond mortal comprehension. Those who do not tithe often will find their blessings crafted into curses, and misfortune brought upon them. Appeasing the Spirits: Votar- If one wishes for Votar’s skill, offer half of your meat to Votar, and in turn, he will bless your hunting grounds with plentiful snares, and improved accuracy. Enrohk-To gain insight on battle, bandage your eyes in dwarven skin. Their strength and greed will allow you to take what you please. Ixli- If one wishes for knowledge beyond knowledge, burn the blood of mage, and consume their eyes to take part in Ixli’s truth. Anyhuluz -If one wishes for the destruction of their enemies, take one of their skulls as a chalice, and drink from it. Akezo-If one wishes for Akezo’s blessing, bathe in the blood of an elf, for their longevity grants one with youth and good skin. Ghorza-If one wishes for safe and expedient travel, bind the tail of a Kha to your loincloth, and Ghorza will guide you along the roughest of paths. Krathol - To understand Krathol’s lessons, one must undergo a trial of four Krug days, in which one may not eat, sleep or drink of any kind. Krathol blesses those who pass this trial with a hardened belly, and a tolerance to pain. Veist - If one wishes to learn and glean wisdom from the thousand-armed trickster, then one must sleep in the hides of Kharajyr to receive Veist’s knowledge of subterfuge. Glutros - To acquire greed, one must cut the stomach of dwarves and fill it with your wealth, and after burying it for 2 elven days, one may find more counts than anticipated. Thulezia -To woo a mate, or simply speak with charisma, cut the lips of an elf and consume them. Their promiscuous nature will add to your charm and moxie. Isuz - To receive Isuz’s love and love from those around you, consume the hearts of man, for their love is short-lived, and their lives, shorter. Leyd - If one wishes for the physical strength of Leyd, drown yourself in ash and blood. Scorthuz - If one wishes to purge themselves of disease or impurity, they must bathe in the blood of high elf, for their goal to stay pure serves a higher purpose. Theruz - If one seeks knowledge, then they may soak their literature in the blood of a high elf or dwarf, for their intelligence is an impressive sight to Theruz.
