“And wild dogs are not allowed to roam, by the diligent huntsman.” The Emperor concluded, his nobles gathered and now erupted into shouts, arguments, and simple din. Some sat idly, contemplating the monarch and his supporters’ harsh words of warfare, others fiercely opposed to sending their folk, their family and commoners, across the seas to death. The Nauzican Charles Philip echoed “We should put down the brigands!” To which an elder of the brigade replied “And waste the coming stores for Winter?” But to add to the din, the young Draken Lancefeld replied in his typical passionate manner, severity in his expression. “We shattered any strength and will they had to fight when they came last, it is time we took advantage!” And the cardinals of the Pontiff uttered with a collective nod “Are we to allow these heathens to continue their unholy incursions?”

 

The well-built John Owyn rose from his chair, raising his hand swiftly to silence the array of robes and armor before him,“For far too long we've watched our roads swarm with brigands, merchants robbed and civilians enslaved. For far too long we've watched from behind our walls, allowing this insurrection to grow. To war, we shall march.” In a sudden wind of haste, swords were drawn. The Duke Petyr’s greatsword naked in the air, the Lord Helvets’ sword’s gilded figure bore for all to see, the Baron Vsenk’s curved blade touched to the crisp air, the Count of Capua raising his longsword, the burghers of the city and their pikes, the marsh lords of Savoy with spear, and the d'Amaury regent with lance. All drew blades and shouted, in an non-uniform clamor of prideful yelps, “The Emperor’s Will is Spoken, Let it Be Done.”

 

Nearly two years past, the great and slothful engine of war called Oren had gained in pace. The hunted was to become the hunter, the armies of Man marched to become one at the port of Vasili's Rest. Mobs of peasantry and workers, levied to sword and shield, marched from fields Vsenk. A legion of gilded soldiers from the mountains of the north of Haense, uniformed in discipline. Green riders upon brown steeds from the feudality of Lorraine, with spearmen and pikes from the Blackwald, bearing the crest of Savoy. White knights, with banners and capes flowing like angels’ wings,  from the fiefdom of Dyffra. Sailors of the blue Vanir serpent, alongside the Vimmark fleet seamen, loaded crate and catapult upon the vast spread of ships. Wood elven bowmen in brown and green, alongside black skinned and gold plated dark elfen cohorts. Nauzicans in their gentlemenic garb, stood in unison alongside their black armored counterparts, lining unto the Imperial Flagship, Frederick’s Fury. Over the ships flew black crows and gold, purple dragons and grey eagles, ran horses and shone suns, swam sharks and serpents.  Like a hunting party, out to rid their thicket of wild dogs, the Orenian Fleet embarked on invasion.

If the defenders are killed or driven from the field of battle.

 

VICTORY FOR DEFENDERS-

Attacking forces are killed or driven from the field of battle.

Side A:

 

• The stage is set for a siege on the dreadland fortress at any point.

 

Side B:

 

• A counterattack can be declared

• The Holy Oren Empire cannot launch another offensive campaign against the Dreadland bandits for two weeks.

 

 

 

Rules

 

-No status switching.

 

-No golden apples.

 

-If the defenders  do not show to their side of the warclaim, they implicitly forfeit and attackers are allowed to determine the next battle on a time of their sole preference.

 

-TNT disabled.
