The Passive, Friendly and Bearded

Brief Description

Spoiler

Rhyming, riddling and boasting about. The large man (and not in height) carries the name of Brathal. A MacDunn and proud to be... even though nobody actually heard of them before. The scribe, of religious genre, now spends his time in taverns and other social occasions. He is not poor nor rich... and maybe a tad wicked on the side.

Personality

Spoiler

A positive and ambitious man with a natural curiosity for all that is unknown. This curiosity often coming paired with plain and obvious ignorance and bears no shame for it. Carrying a smile with a smirk he can be found a bit cheeky time to time. An odd sense of humor and bad timing.

He shows great interest for that what's unknown to him. Cultures, deities, magic even. Basically all the stuff that you won't find books about in a monastery.

He's a fond of:

Wine, Mead, Tobacco, written stories and books, gatherings of size such as mass or markets, Cultures and other exotic topics, other descendants with an exception for orcs.

He has a disdain for:

orcs, shamans, rain, heat, ale, bees.

Appearance and Attire

Spoiler

Brathal has a heavy though shorter build. He stands 5'8" tall and not fat nor overly muscular. He has grey to white hair, due to the mixed blood that he carries as an Adunian. His face rather pale. Further containing nothing out of the ordinary, freckles in the summer.

His attire is comprised of brown and gray colors. Originally coming from the north, a mostly mountainous region, his clothing is rather thick. Storage in form of pouches and pockets all about his attire will do for his general inventory. For he will most likely have a house to call home, where he stores the rest. He carries a thick and tough leather breastplate and other leather padding, on top of the clothing that keeps him warm.

He carries no sword, nor a staff.  He is in fit condition and has no injuries due to his past occupation. His hands are big, digits thick and rough. Patches of hard skin due to his work as a writer.

History and Biography

Spoiler

So... where do we start hm?

Born and raised in a deserted monastery up north, Brathal aged in a peaceful environment. His parents unknown and therefore presumed an orphan. His real family consisting of the other children in service of the monks, and the hierarchs that watched over them. In early years he led a calm and easy life with friends and whatnot. Was taught to read and write so that he at age 11 became a scribe. His time spend copying the various tomes and letters. He led a fairly calm life with good people around him. Here too he showed to be sociable, his free time spend in the library reading old tomes. Stories of fiction, adventures and encounters of beasts almighty he fancied above all else. Telling the stories to all he knew.

(Little bit in depth on his bee fear, he thought it a good idea to steal honey from the beekeepers of the monastery and well... that didn't turn out too well. He nearly died of the many stings.)

He served his time well and at around 20 years old he was permitted leave. He continued his work of writing and published a couple of fictional novels without great success. Being out of the comfort of the monastery, he noticed his youth had both good and bad sides. The way he was raised made him a good scholar, reader and writer. Sociable and theoretical. Where in the fields of practicality and combat he lacks greatly. So Brathal lives his life as a MacDunn, a surname given to him by his family upon leaving the monastery. Venturing out to find joy and comfort in many things.

Interesting. I'm a bit dissapointed at one aspect however...

"He has no particular hate for orcs"

You could have been more original here... 90% of LOTC don't hate Orcs(Truth)

You should have given him a hatred for Orcs as that is much more original :/
