Armia Pasnia

The Pasnian people are renowned not for only their rich culture, but also for their battle prowess, with their renowned winged-hussars leading the charge. The formal and professional armed forces of Pasnia was formed under King Staszak, known as the unifier and pious for having successfully unified the Pasnian people under one banner instead of scattered, warring clans. With the re-organizing of his and the other Pasnian peoples clans into a more modern society, he wisely saw the need for a properly trained armed force to protect their borders.

Hussars

The Winged-Hussars of the Pasnian culture are the greatest heavy infantry and cavalry which the Pasnians possess, taking on an equivalent position of a feudal knight. Members of the Hussar force are chosen directly by the Magnate himself and often serve as his personal bodyguards. Hussars are also members of the Szlachta class, enjoying all its privileges.

Maximum of four members.

Pasnite Cavalry

The Pasnians inhabit plains and light woodlands it is expected of each Pasnian to learn how to ride at a young age to cover the most territory, some as low as 3 have already learned horse mastery. As such the Pasnite cavalry maintains a high standard of performance from all of their members. They serve as scouts and rangers during peacetime to keep the Pasnian borders safe.

Their standard equipment is plate armour, lances and szablas.

Pasnite Archers & Heavy Infantry

The Pasnite Heavy Infantry and Archers are perhaps a minority in the Armia, as they are the only ones which do not maintain horses, nevertheless they serve as the main line in any battle formations the Pasnians form. Their role is also important during peacetime as they are tasked with guarding and maintaining the peace in Pasnite settlements and cities.

Due to their often limited numbers they are given the second best armor (Behind the Hussars) as it is cheaper to arm them than the Pasnite cavalry, which uses speed and mobility to their advantage regardless. Therefore only the best armour and weapons are given to the Infantry. They are armed with Plate, Szablas, Pikes and Crossbows/Bows

They may serve as auxilliary cavalry.

The Oath

During the initiation ceremony, every Rekrut must pledge an oath that accompanied the Pasnian people for many centuries, no man or woman may dismiss this Oath at any time or any circumstance, with the single exception of saving the Magnate’s life at risk.

“I pledge my life and loyalty to the Magnate of Pasnia,

To uphold the good name of Pasnia and protect all it stands for,

In the name of God, Almighty, the Magnate and Pasnia  I fight,

For the Fatherland raised me,

To it I pledge my service.

For God, Honor, and Homeland. Huzzah!”

The Ranking System

The Chain of Command is the core system of the Army, for without it chaos rages with no authority and discipline.

Hetman

The highest officer rank a soldier could aim for, appointed directly by the Magnate and a part of the Council. A Hetman is chosen for his loyalty, martial skill and leadership ability. The Hetman has many responsibilities and rights:

  • Supervision of all officers.

  • Promotion and Demotion of all soldiers at will.

  • Taking the responsibilities of vacant roles at will.

  • Flexity of military rules and laws.

  • Carrying out all commands issued by the Magnate under all circumstances.

  • Enforcement of the Imperial and Pasnian law.

  • Carrying out verdicts regarding corruption, disloyalty and state crimes.

Regimentarz

The Regimentarz is appointed by the Hetman, and serves as his second in command; a trusted advisor and an assistant in all martial affairs.
