LOTC FAQ

 

1| Forum Registration and Applying

 

I did not receive a confirmation email!

 

 

This is a problem caused by your email provider disliking the fact that we send so many emails out to their clients, due to the large amounts of members signing up - this commonly happens with Microsoft's "Hotmail" service. If this does occur and you are unable to confirm your email address due to not receiving the email, contact a Community Staff member of staff via Forums (here), Discord (here) or in Wandering Soul Chat (in-game) where we can manually confirm your account. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this 'bug'.

Why is there an application process?

 

 

If we did not have an application process we would end up with giant amounts of people that are unable to roleplay, who come to give people abuse, grief, spam and steal. With an application process we can ensure that our server is of a high quality roleplay standard, something we are very proud of.

 

2| In-Game Problems

 

I am unable to use any commands, and I have been implemented

 

 

This is likely due to the person who implemented you doing a mistype - this can be quite problematic for you, however can be solved extremely quickly by contacting the Community Team via forums (here) or discord (here).. Unfortunately, as a member you are unable to solve this problem yourself. 

 

I was killed by a bug, am I able to be refunded?

 

 

We try our very best to repair any bugs that appear on the game, however sometimes that is not possible. If you are killed due to a bug then please contact a member of the Development Team or Administration Team (https://www.lordofthecraft.net/staff/) so that we can fix it. Unfortunately, unless the bug is known and or able to be replicated the staff will not be able to refund your items. You should take a screenshot immediately as a bug affects you so that role-play items can be returned.

 

I have concerns regarding the rules

 

 

The rules are written to be as clear as possible, if you are interested in finding more about a rule or wish to see another added pop a message directly to a Community Team member, Moderator or Administrator. Staff list:

Apparently I don't have permission to an area?

 

 

Our world is regioned to ensure that it's beauty is not ruined - speak to the owner of the land to inquire about building rights there (use /rg info to figure out what region you are in, then /rg info <region name> to see region owners). To message the region owners or primary region owner you can type, /msg [MC-name] [message]. Or go to the New Player Discord found here; https://discordapp.com/invite/Zr4EpNa and either ping a Community Team member to assist or find the player with the correct region tag.

 

What is a Soulstone?

 

 

A soulstone is a nether star that you can bind to a certain location, this allows you to teleport there if you get lost or need to get there quickly. You can not use your soulstone whilst in a fight or whilst moving. More location save slots are unlocked over time on your persona. Type; /ss. For more information In-Game.

 

I see NPCs, how can I make one?

 

 

VIPs are able to place NPCs as their companions. If you wish to have an NPC made for you for a city guard or for a questline, contact a Moderator and if they believe you have sufficient reason for one they may be happy to give you one!

 

3| Connection Troubles

 

Upon trying to connect to the server I get an error, but the website says it's online?

 

 

If this is the case, there is a high chance that the server has either crashed, under maintenance or DDOS'd . If you have a look at the status area of the forums when this happens you can generally see people complaining that the server is down. We try our very best to get the server up as soon as possible after something such as this - please be patient!

 

Every time I log in, it turns to a black screen straight away..?

 

 

You are standing in a corrupted chunk! *gasp* If you wait a short while the server usually sorts this itself, however if this problem persists contact a member of staff and make them aware of your location so they can head over and see what the problem is. It says that I am banned when I try and log in...

 

 

That's because... you are banned! Speak to a member of the Moderation Team or Administrator to find out why - all bans are written up so we know exactly why you were banned. In order to be unbanned you must appeal.

 

4| The Forums

 

I am unable to post on the forums?

 

 

Think back and see if you have made any posts that could have resulted in the revoking of your posting privileges - this is usually only temporary. The RTE (Rich-Text-Editor) / WYSIWYG editor mucks up my formatting.

 

 

The RTE editor does not like it when you copy and paste in formatted text from things such as Google Drive, Microsoft Word or OpenOffice. It can often cause it to make a mess of your formatting, sometimes even adding text such as <apple-applet:39345> etc at the end. This can be solved by simply making sure you only copy and paste raw text into the post and doing formatting actually in the RTE editor on the forums. Some forum functions can cause this also however, for example the horizontal line bb code is known to occasionally make a mess of formatting. Use the RTE editor at the risk of making a mess of your posts!

 

The Report Button wont work?

5| Staff

What's the difference between Moderator, Story Moderator, Community Moderator, and Wiki Moderator?

 

 

Moderators handle those in-game and forums.

Story Moderators assure lore and magic is being followed and used correctly as with guiding Staff ran Events on the server.

Community Moderators review whitelist applications, assuring applicants meet the right standard of roleplay skill and lore understanding to play on the server.They also take care of the Community trying to improve it.

Wiki Moderators assure wikia.lordofthecraft.net is updated and not being vandalized. If you wish to work on the Wiki, PM one of them (Secondary Role of Community Team)..

 

Who should I contact for assistance on a particular issue?
