MYSTERIUM ET MAGICAE

The President/Ipsissimus/Chair-Wizard, Council and Fellows of the Worshipful Society of Wizards, Magicians, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Casters, commonly known as the Worshipful Society of Wizards or the Worshipful Fraternity of Wizards, or the Worshipful Society or the W.S.W. is a learned and social society for magic practitioners founded on some particular date.  The Society’s fundamental purpose is to recognize, promote, and support excellence in magic and to encourage its development and use for the benefit “humanity”.

The origins of the Worshipful Society of Wizards lie in the Wizards’ Guild and W.I.Z. University (i.e. Wizarding Institution of Zapping) which was founded in the waning years of the continent of Anthos which was in turn founded from displaced members of the ancient Mages Guild.  The Guild and University remained irregularly active for approximately a century before fading into obscurity.  Members of the old Guild and University remained infrequently active until the former Chair-Wizard Ambros founded the Worshipful Society of Wizards.

Structure and Governance

FELLOWS

The Society’s core members consists of  the fellows: wizards, magicians, sorcerers, warlocks and casters who are selected based on having made a substantial contribution to the improvement of magical knowledge.  Fellows are elected by the Venerable and Elucidated Council of the Order of the Silver Star and Brethren of the Purple Eye (i.e. The Council) for life and procure the right to use the postnominal Wiz.D. (Doctor of Wizardry).  The responsibilities of the Fellow also include a duty to financially contribute to the Society and the right to stand on The Council and any other committee of the Society.

THE COUNCIL

More formally known as the Venerable and Elucidated Council of the Order of the Silver Star and Brethren of the Purple Eye or simply The Council serves as the primary governing body of the Society.  The Council can, at most, contain seven total members.  Fellows are elected to The Council by the existing Council if an opening becomes vacant.  Do note that no position within The Council may be filled by more than one member at a time.  Should a member of The Council become unfit or die, then all members of the Council will submit one candidate and The Council will elect a new member fill the vacant position.

Duties of The Council include managing all matters concerning the business  and policy of the Society.

THE OFFICERS

Three Officers, which include the Ipsissimus/President/Chair-Wizard/Chief Wizard, Grand Sorcerer of the Silver Star/Vice-President, and the Magister Templi, sit on The Council.  Their duties are elucidated therein:

Ipsissimus

Also known as the President or Chair-Wizard or Chief Wizard, the Ipsissimus’s primary duty is to preside over Council and societal wide meeting.  The Ipsissimus is voted upon by the Council every four years or approximately one Saint’s Month.  An incumbent Ipsissimus may hold the position so long as they are voted back into the position.  During their term, the Ipsissimus can be reprimanded by The Council through majority vote.

Grand Sorcerer of the Silver Star

Also known as the Vice-President or simple as the GSSS, the Grand Sorcerer of the Silver Star is appointed by the presiding Ipsissimus and remains in said position until the end of the Ipsissimus’s term.  The duty of the Grand Sorcerer of the Silver Star is to act as the Ipsissimus’s deputy in their absence.

Magister Templi

Also known as the Master of the Temple, the Magister Templi is to preside over societal property, funds, and artifacts.  The Magister Templi has a term lasting eight years or approximately two Saint’s months.

An even more angry voidforger angrily slams the flyer into the wall repeatedly before he throws it into the air, firing an Iron-Man ion blast at it and turning it into cinders.

A nearby person would say:

Your concerns are duly noted, and the The Council will review said deceased Avenel.

"QUICK QUICK QUICK." A mass of papers are flung in the air, and a metal legion starts to furiously write on papers, casting parchment aside and burning them as they seek to make a perfected and well written paper.

Eventually a proper notice is formatted and sent to the Worshipful Society of Wizards, reading as follows;

AMCA TAKEDOWN NOTICE

To the newest Mage's Guild,

KALAMEET IZALITH'S low character is the subject of Druidic plays. This is a formal declaration of FRAUD. The HOLOCRON and LEXICON (All rights reserved (c) 1247 Janos Ith'ael) are both original creations of one JANOS ITH'AEL, whose schematics and whole prototypes pre-date Izalith's. The Artificers and olde Arcane Engineers of the world will not stand the perpetuation of dishonesty in our respected field.

We are issuing this AMCA (Arcane Millenium Copyright Act) takedown notice to request that you immediately remove any claim Kalameet Izalith invented these devices. We are grateful for your further compliance.

Signed,
AAA, the Artificer's Association of Axios

A letter would return to the aforementioned sender of the letter

To the Artificer's Association of Axios,

Should you provide evidence of these documents The Council is willing to remove KALAMEET IZALITH of his award in return, the late JANOS ITH'AEL will be granted the Roland Artifcery Award instead.

Sincerely, Yours Truly, Most Regards, Best Regards, Regards, Love,

The Council
