Finally after many years of long work the large industrial sector of factories are ready to begin production, allowing for increased output on all levels for the arms that it can manufacture. Production begins on manufacturing both civilian and military exoskeletons, intending to get a stockpile and surplus on both for when they are ready to sell to the other colonies and alien nations once proper deals have been struck with the interstellar empires and colonies.

Tassareans are accepted into the workforce, given the same rights, pay and habitat as their human colleagues.  Being of high skill those appropriate join the engineers and scientists in the highly skilled part of the Silver Knight Workforce. On the other hand the first outpost in the belt has finished, work continues to make it a fully functional base to be multipurpose in being an outpost for mining the belt and beginning the planets belt defense initiative.

The Executive Government of the Companies Colony agrees to the concept of a Council of Human Colonies, but requires further negotiation and discussion with potential partners before anything is fully cemented with the Terran Federation. The Company would seek out to contact non-hostile members of the Galactic Assembly to begin trade agreements.

Activity Points

The Development of the Asteroid Base would continue, seeking to make the first base of a defensive initiative  that can act as a defensive station and a base for mining operations on the belt. (2AP)

The Company would seek to create a craft that is capable of Vertical Take Off and Landing for both Atmospheric and Space Faring Use. Planning to make it a third larger than a regular Gunship, it is intended to be a "Super Gunship" for its Military Model but they also plan on making a non-military model for civillian use as a large cargo vessel capable of traversing space. (2AP)

Terran Federation

Cold Days in the Life of a Federation Citizen

The wind howls throughout the mountains of Terra, striking across the sky is a Caterpillar Class Freighter, it’s engines burn bright as it descends towards the Sol Colony Landing Pads

“This is Freighter 2, requesting permission to land.” Ryan asked as he looked outside at the colony as he came closer and closer, he pulled back on the throttle to slow his descent as the radio came back “Copy that freighter 2, Landing pad 3 is open.” he adjusted course “Thank you control.” he brought the ship in to land as a gust of wind quickly throws him off course as the ship nearly side swipes a building “Oh ****!” he pulls on the controls adjusting for the wind as he levels the ship back out bringing it down on the pad as it lands.

The cargo ramp hisses as the hydraulics lower it onto the pad, Ryan steps out in his arctic gear looking at bunch of men with lifting equipment moving some crates towards the ship “Come on you guys! It’s freezing out here!” he yells as a man holding a datapad approaches, his arm metal and slow moving “Emmerson!?” he calls out.

Emmerson looks to him “Oh Hey Ryan!” he waves with his metal arm..somewhat “Didn’t know you got shifted to piloting Freighter 2.” he says looking back at the men as they load up construction material and tools “Yah, I wanted the experience. Maybe have my own hauling group someday.” Emmerson nods “You’re heading to Site C, the caves yah?” he asks as Ryan nods moving to get into the ship “Yah, Hey what are you doing tonight?” he asks as he waits for the last of the men to finish loading the ship. Emmerson thinks “Nothing really, having dinner with the family, you want to join us?”

Ryan turns around nodding “Sure! I’ll bring some of my rations to help with dinner eh?” he says punching the seal button as the ramp comes up shutting the ship. Emmerson and his men move off the pad “Freighter 2, you are clear for lift off!” The ship’s bottom thrusters ignite as snow blows off the pad and it ascends and turns away from the mountains before it reaches a safe height before its main engines ignite and it takes off across the sky.

Hours later in the residential district…

Emmerson sits in the living room with his daughter “Can I feel your arm Papa?” she asks innocently. Emmerson smiles holding out his arm as his 7 year old daughter squeezes and feels across the metallic arm. “It’s strong and tough just like you dad.” he laughs as he stands up letting her swing from it as the front door beeps “Em? Can you get that?” Brenda, Emmerson’s wife asks from the kitchen “Yah I got it!” he calls back carrying his daughter to the door as he opens it “Ryan Hey.” he greets as Ryan smiles holding up a basket of corn cobs and potatoes “I did a favor for the workers over in the Agriculture Department and got some extras.” he goes to walk in.

“Hi Uncle Ryan!” Annelia greets with a big smile as she lets go of her father’s arm. Ryan enters closing the door behind him patting her head “Hey there kiddo, decided what you want to do when you grow up?” he asks as she follows them to the house  “I want to be a Botanist! I love plants!” she says as Emmerson chuckles “She loves plants.” he says. “She keeps some in her room.” They all retreat to the kitchen but Annelia goes to the living room where the Vid Screen is at playing local news and ‘weather’ forecasts as the news speaks off events around the Galactic Council and high hopes for expanding Federation space.

In the kitchen Ryan helps Brenda setup dinner “How is it working for the council Brenda?” he asks as she peels the stalks “It’s fun, interesting too with what comes across my desk, Vira trusts me though so it isn’t anything super secret.” she comments washing them off in the sink “What is it Brenda? Come On….You know I’m not social on the job anyway.” he teases. Brenda sighs “Fine fine. You men are always so pushy.” they chuckle

“I hear a currency is preparing to be put out throughout the currency in hopes of making the colony capable of allow civilians to eventually be able to invest in the colonies future. Supposedly it’s an adaptation of the Auroran Colony currency, The Federation and Auroran Governments are getting pretty cozy with one another.”

Ryan and Emmerson look at each other surprised “I guess we will have to watch and wait huh?”

Some minutes later Ryan, Emmerson and Annelia sits at the dinner table as Brenda comes out “Dinner is ready!” she smiles placing the corn and potatoes on the table along with a plate meat “Can we eat now? It looks yummy!” Annelia smiles as Emmerson shakes his head “No dear..what do we do before we eat?” she thinks before smiling “We say Grace~.”

Hephaestus--
A Glimpse into the Life of an Employee

The microbus stops in front of you and you step aboard quickly. The driver has a small screen displaying the stock prices for transport subsidiaries next to his controls, which he glances at between stops. Probably an independent micro-entrepreneur outside the usual circles. Risky. He smiles and greets you jovially as you swipe your debit-chit. Nice touch. This will sell well when the time comes--he's branded himself quite effectively.

The trip is overall pleasant, though your mind is concentrating on the next quarterly report for your employer. You're an executive in a minor off-world financial firm. It specialises in raw mineral sales. Plenty of markets beyond Hephaestus. Prices are low here. Higher everywhere else. Easy sales. Low effort, high profit. Will likely fail though, and soon. These businesses are consumed by larger ones fairly regularly--like minnows in a pond of piranhas. Still, suitable for now. You make a note to check the next corporate newsletter for inter-subsidiary transfer opportunities. Never hurts to have a new job lined up early.

This street looks a little different today. Would have been completely different last month. Shops are bought up, go out of business, move elsewhere, or are merged regularly. Like a body replacing cells. Same place, but at the same time not. The microbus stops and the driver gives you a cheery 'thank you' as you swipe your chit again. Stocks must have risen. Good for him. Maybe he'll be on an executive board with you some day? Then again, maybe not. Entrepreneurs are different beasts from salary-jockeys like yourself. They prefer to be leaders and commanders. You're happy enough to be a cog.

There is still a short walk to the street where you are employed. You know the way by memory alone. Street names often change with new owners. Everyone wants to give their own, personal touch to things. Understandable. Good for PR. Old names may not mesh well with current branding.
You walk past a large air vent--the ones that dot all habitats on the atmosphere-lacking planet of Hades. The vents burrow into the earth where frozen ice from the planet's caps are processed into air. Very cost-efficient. Should have bought more shares in them when you arrived. Very safe investment. A small chill bites through your synth-cotton suit as you walk past the gaping grill. Air is cold. Lacks the personal touch. Bad PR for the subsidiary that owns the vent.

You continue on the walk. You look up briefly, and see the stars through the glass Hemis-dome that surrounds this business district. They stretch like blanket of beautiful, infinite lights--waltzing across the sky in an eternal dance.

Much like you. Much like all the businesses, subsidiaries, and independents. You ponder if it would be nicer to have a holographic sun instead.

There is a Grgl just beyond the vent. It has a small food stand. The strange, sticky goop they sell is quite popular among lower-income employees. You prefer established, more experienced goop-peddlers. You never know what could be in the independent one's broth. At least the larger ones are up front with their peculiar ingredients. Two Hephaestus Security officers are standing a little further on, muttering between one-another and tapping things on their data-pads. Probably slyly checking the Grgl's corporate ID. Might not have incorporated. Bad idea. If you're not incorporated, you're not an employee. If you're not an employee, you're a vagrant. If you're a vagrant, you're trespassing on Hephaestus property. Probably be hit with several complicated wavers to sign, then tossed off the planet. Grgl's problem. Not yours. Is that general-goods outlet selling diapers?

You have two children at home with your spouse. One of them is a recent addition. Corporate-mandated 20% off infant-related products, added to the store's 40% discount. Store is closing down. Excellent. You make a note to go back after work. Stocking up would be a good investment. Children produce large quantities of waste, and little else. Granted, they have considerable worth to your emotional well-being, as does your spouse--but this is the business world. Business is practical, and pragmatic. Emotional investments belong at home where they are useful and appreciated.

You turn into the final street. A Tassaran is arguing with a private security officer. He 'works here.' The security guard posits, quite firmly, the opposite. Change in management. It was merged with another micro-subsidiary yesterday. Tassaran was probably expecting to still have a job. Naiive. You allow yourself a chuckle as you get out of earshot. Tassarans are good people on the whole--quality employees--and can sometimes keep up with the pace of the Race. But businesses rise and fall all the time, here. Sometimes within hours.

They'll get used to it. Or they'll leave. Perhaps they'll join security? Security plays a different game. They watch the employees rather than the market. You might go there one day too, if opportunities dry up. Currently there is work around each corner. Everyone desires cogs for their machines. You are a quality cog to be sure. Certain to be in demand, should you go inquiring. You've arrived.

You walk into the lobby of your building. The secretary is different. New hire? The last one had a very nasal voice. Bad PR for official correspondence, you suppose. The secretary gestures you over. They hand you a letter. Actual paper?

You've been laid off.

Actual paper, though. Personal touch. Good PR. Will remember that in the future. You request references for your CV. Secretary sends them via inter-corporate mail. Your former employers are quite kind in their appraisals. Almost touching.

You have a three-month grace period before you're considered a vagrant, though security tends to be lenient on humans. Might get four months instead. Spouse is still employed to your knowledge, so you will be fine anyway. Employees' families are exempt.

You walk back towards bus-hub. Perhaps you'll get lunch while you update your CV? You pass the Tassaran who has given up on argument and is now looking through the business section in the Heph. Corp. Newsletter. Reasonable place to start, if a bit amateurish. He'll learn.

You turn down the connecting street. Hephaestus Security are securing the goop-stand, and arresting the Grgl. No corporate ID? Sucks to be them. Should have known better.

A maintenance team is fiddling with the cold air-vent, getting it back to a comfortable temperature. Admirable efficiency. That company will be sticking around for a while yet.

You walk up to the bus-hub, just as a familiar microbus pulls in. The bus is the same as the one that carried you here, but the driver is different. Previous owner must have sold up. Good for him.

He had good PR.

United States Of Arcturus

The expansion of the shipyard goes as planned, the artificial gravity generators giving the workers a solid ground to rest upon, so to say, despite being hundreds of kilometers up from any surface. (I bid you, to tell me your shipyard level and list your invested AP into the shipyard, so I may assess that on the map).

At first it's disbelief, but then certainty. A small foreign vessel has been detected in the solar system. It appears to be exploring the system, taking its dear time orbiting around some of the outer planets, doing survey work as it appears. It is not of human origin, so they expect, picking up transmissions fragments from it, in a deep throaty language with clear language and grammar though. (Encounter)

The Holy Kingdom of Eadn

The lack of a shipyard makes this investment rather obsolete. So instead, the effort is poured into establishing the foundations and structure for a ground based shipyard. (Correct me, if you can show me where you have built a shipyard. Again, list this in your post, so I may add it to the map next post.)

The probes being sent out transmit data as planned... when suddenly they go silent upon reaching a certain point. Something seems off, there is no visual confirmation to where they went, nor where they are supposed to be. They just... vanish?

The Terran Federation

The workers are diligent and things make progress, with an extended assembly hall, additional storage for parts and tools, it should be ready to build bigger ships (SL 2 - 6 AP total) (Again, Shipyard level and list the invested AP into shipyards please. Eases my work.).

Utilizing the Quantum Comms on the ship, at around the end of the year, the ship reports it has found a suitable system in the sector with a big continental world. It shows no intelligent beings, and a mild and peaceful enviroment.

Using imported drill bits from the Confederation of Xaplonius the Xylorite mining goes well, without any accidents happening this year. The Confederation hints that you should avoid laser mining Xylorite, as it clearly results in devastation. Fortunately you knew that beforehand from your experiments.

New Sephoria

With the continous growth of New Sephoria's population, the additional farms are a welcome addition. Given, with growing population, there is also a growth of work force, but this growth needs food.

Diligent the humble robots assume drilling, hauling and processing operations as instructed by their makers. From the present Protorian group, a couple observe the whole ordeal, taking notes, talking to the human overseers and inquiring with the robots about their purpose and function and technical details. In lieu of this, before they send their reports to Proteum Davun, they check in with the Council of Sephoria, looking for approval to transmit the gathered data.

The wardens operate mostly independent, being a viable force, capable of acting as massive barriers for the small humans. They perform exceptionally well, with the first few rounds showing that they are capable of hindering a flag capture by the humans. Then at later points, whereever a formation of them is spread thin, the diversion and hit-and-run tactic works and the humans are capable of breaking through.

A group of priests have engaged one of the present Protorians in a theological debate, discussing faith and its meaning. The Protorian shows substantial knowledge and wisdom in the matters, showing the priests where there is proof and where there is theory for the Christian faith. In the end though, he does mention that there is indeed a being that would be... god, seen as it has guided their teachers, the firstborn before. Limited in knowledge about that being though, he suggests the priests should request and audience with the Archivar, the eldest Protorian and the last living being to have contact with the Firstborn.

Hephaestus Holdings Incorporated

And so the steaming and smoking massive industrial complex is finished at least. That took long. It did.

The vessel utilizes gravity plates on the floor, being powered through the ship's systems. This allows the personnel inside and the goods to remain fixed at the ground at a comfortable 1 G. Or 1 Lhl as Grgl call it. The plates can easily be removed from the flooring, though integrating them elsewhere would prove impractical, as these were specifically made for this ship or shiptype.

Whilst the Republic of Galaron would prefer soldiers and volunteers amongst their ranks, they do not say no to the cheap weaponry. After assessing their overall performance and quality in a test (which they rate at 4/10 in their standards, their own laser weaponry with the famous Galaron Thrower at 7.5/10), they decide to buy. In bulk. The Republic orders 200,000 rifles, 50,000 pistols and 45,000 scatterguns along with 5 million power cells for the weapons. And they pay in raw Xylorite, about one thousand tons of it.

A complaint is being filed by the Confederation of Xaplonius about the unequal treatment of their kind. They have received numerous reports about reprimands towards their peaceful ways and lives and request that the responsible parties cease these unwarranted hostilities immediately. They note that the rights of a being come before economic laws. The humans in the Confederation have received nothing but equality and respect.

The Saga Initiative

The sector proves to have a habitable system with two oceanic worlds rotating in a comfortable distance from their host star. The atmosphere readings indicate that the composition is similar to that of Earth back then. There are a lot of aquatic life forms on both of the blue pearls, but vastly different from eachother. These data is being received upon return of the vessel.

In principle, the quantum level is fickle. Too fickle at this point for physical objects to pass through it. But given the possibility of just sending energy waves through it, radio signals show the potential to be transmitted through it. Given, if you know how to bridge to locations for the purposed Quantum communication, it should be possible to almost instantly transmit information over incredibly vast distances, cutting time delay to zero.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

Strength in numbers. A slogan that appeals to many. There is work. There is food. The only thing needed are people to fill the positions and eat the food. A population boom has set in in the past year, quite substantial at that, proving the Emperor's call was right and the people listen to their guardian.

The facility on the moon remains silent, the door looming ominously in the landscape. It's quiet the entire year, the men and women on the surface guarding day in day out.

Aurora

Assuming one of the existing factories, this deal is quickly done. The factory is up and running by the end of the year, the machines inside being set up and so the first rifles roll out of it. Not many, as they are expensive and complicated to make, but they are there.

By the end of the year, a first version of a robot head is finished, with all sensors and hardware installed inside. Capable of hearing, seeing and communicating it's a big step, but bringing it all together and a robot into sync is a wholly different task.

Based upon the commonly used software and systems, a first encrypted program is finished, with the capabilities to connect between the prototype head and a headset. Quite interesting to look at oneself with a headset on.

They find an open highland location not far from one of the colonies, which suits the purpose perfectly. Being docile, the worms who have grown accustomed to the present humans appear to have become quite territorial, sticking close to whereever the humans are. A sort of relationship is certainly established, as the humans feed the worms various remains of food or similar, and the worms laying eggs. It goes quite well and the farm is underway.

Die Volks-Agrarrepublik (PAR)

Another valley being filled slowly with small hamlets and farm land. The Protorians themselves appear to bring materials from their homeworlds, along with quite a few workers, autonomously building very comfy abodes, which show... humility at the same time. As a certain tourist resort, it surely has its appeal. By the end of the year, a few members of other species have moved in too. (Combined point 1 and 2).

The pursuit and research into the Xylorite bomb soon reaches the ears of the Protorian Council, which immediately submits a warning and demand to cease research into that matter.

The Remnants

They manage to repurpose most of the ship's functions by the end of the year, but they are not done yet. Weapons installations and hangar bay construction are still outstanding for the huge ship. It would be far more efficient if they had a shipyard capable of supporting such a change.

Speaking of shipyard, the basic shipyard that has been ordered is halfway finished at this point. At the current rate of work, they expect it to be done in two years.

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

A smaller factory producing ammunition for the existing weaponry is finished by the end of the year. Any small arms can be supplied from there, given its limited capacity though.

As for the House of Malta, so it is indeed halfway finished by the end of the year. It was projected that way and the engineers followed through with it. Someone should give their diligent hands extra rations to hold.

Quite disruptive for the daily lives, a foreign vessel gets detected in the system. It appears briefly, just in the size of a destroyer, scouts the system, ignores any hailing calls as it examines the colony briefly from above, just to leave the system without further notice. Who could have been that?

The People’s Republic of Xie

And the construction is halted, the ships just fitting into no shipyard or assembly hall they have. Such a project should be done when there is the capacity and the room to do so.

The advertisement campaign goes horribly wrong, leading to a drop in population growth instead, much to the dismay of the government. Viciously and aggressively promoting something so personal is not always a good idea.

Silver Knight Company

Ignoring the part about being a defensive station, the engineers finish the construction of the refinery to the base itself first. Of course, they scout out possibilities to add defensive measures to the asteroid belt, but a system to that can be done another time.

With a lack of a shipyard capable of building such a ship, the construction of such a facility is started instead, to build the proposed and thankfully already designed gunship/small freighter at a later date. By the end of this year, it's halfway done, so it will take another year to get it up and running.

Perhaps the company will rejoice, as the Backhatta Hive dismantles its outpost on the planet and leaves with the ships. Their official statement notes that their observation has concluded and they have noted the Company as a potential partner for the future. Also, so you know, Backhatta are four armed, tall insectoids with buglike faces, but capable of vocal speech that sounds a bit scratchy though.

New Sephoria

58f799765d23d_oaA3oOB1.png.9e2a99787561e4dca73c5ff6a7911a48.png

Date: June, 2118

Location: New Sephoria

Documented Event: Warden Testing vs Human Soldiers

General Luciano stands atop the rise overlooking the Wardens and their flag. Watching the treeline for movement, he notices several of his soldiers preparing to assault the Wardens. Watching them prepare, he notes that each one seems nervous. Perhaps they're afraid the Wardens will malfunction, and injure someone? This is a live test, after all.

The soldiers charge in, firing at the Wardens, but the Wardens manage to put them done. A little while later, a second group comes in and does that same. Shortly after though a third group comes, and employs hit-and-run tactics. This group manages to thin the Wardens some, and spread them out more. Finally, a small group sneaks past the Wardens, grabs the flag, and manages to escape with it.

After testing, each group's leader submits a report.

Group A and B reports that the Warden do well when it comes to a direct confrontation.

Group C reports that when faced with Hit-and-Run tactics, the overall reaction speed of the Wardens is lessened, most likely due to their heavier-set.

Group D reports that when the Wardens are forced to spread out, their detection systems are not as good as they could be, and future investment into various sensors could be valuable.

General Luciano forwards copies of the reports from Group C and Group D to Maria, and requests they begin looking into ways to fix those problems.

ACTIONS

(2 AP) Joint Research Project between New Sephoria, Aurora, Terran Federation, and the Remnants with the goal of developing Artificial Gravity Generators.

(1 AP) A Shuttle is sent with scientists and military personnel to Eden-1 (Barren Moon of Angelos-4) to survey the moon, and see if their is any valuable resources on it.

(1 AP) A Shuttle is sent with scientists and military personnel to Eden-2 (Arctic Moon of Angelos-4) to survey the moon, and see if their is any value to the moon, besides the large quantity of ice.

(2 AP) A new design is created for future Wardens, with the goal of adding both Thermal and Motion sensors to it, to increase it's perceptive abilities. (If that doesn't actually require the AP, then just put the 2 AP towards building the new Wardens)

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

170px-Coat_of_arms_of_the_Sovereign_Mili

Management of the Order of Malta:

Work Continues on the House of Malta. 250 supervisors of the construction are promoted to 3rd-Class Knight, and many of the best workers are promoted into Order Auxiliaries, receiving various Orderman benefits. ((3 AP))

Preliminary research begins on a laser and ballistics based planetary defense array, primarily on its plausibility and how long it'd take to build. ((1 AP))

Small arms begin distribution to the First and Second Class Knights as word of the sighting spreads among the order.

Daily life of an Auxiliary of the Order:

As he swiped his identification card at the 11th layer, 76th degree subway station entrance, John Ravensburg stepped into the terminal and onto the 9 AM bullet train towards Central. Here, rows of seats with digitized nameplates and rank indicators lined the walls and he began to walk towards the back to find his own. He passed rows of uniformed knights, the plates above them detailing name and rank, and as he scanned his card onto the armrest of an Auxiliary-labelled seat, the rank above changing to Auxiliary 4th degree.

Here, the Order knew everything. Every building, every crosswalk, and every cash register sent information back to Central. As his train started speeding towards the under-construction Central building, an automated morning ration cart began rolling down the center. He swiped, and out came a bagel, apple juice, tofu-base sausages, vitamin supplement pills and synth-cream cheese. The sausages were new - maybe another farming layer had opened up. He dug in.

The screen at the front of the train car turned on, a white-clad First Class giving a short sermon, leading the Order's pledge of allegiance, and then reciting the news of the previous day. There was the usual - progress on the Central complex, promotions into knighthood, the perks of hard work for the Order. The ship that had scanned their system had been a shock, but that didn't have much to do with him. He was just waiting to arrive at the construction site. Maybe afterwards he'd spend some of his luxury credits on a a trip to the theater.

The Terran Federation

2118, Sol’s Rebirth System, Planet Terra

“An object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.” - Sir Isaac Newton

dcc6577db28e32421bae41ae2d7134d7.png

The Council is gathered in the main government hall of the Sol Colony.

The group looks at the Vid Screen as the data recorded from Explorer 1 is translated and shown in full scope and detail.

“A Continental World..by all categories.” Lalone speaks as he points to several projections showing different information “This planet has an atmosphere not any different from Earth or Terra’s and is 100% capable of supporting human life..according to the reports the weather and environment is mild but somewhat peaceful. Mother nature is of course..still well above our control but it is WELL within acceptable ranges.” he looks to the others

Vira nods “I am sure there are several concerns we will need to address before a full colonization effort is initiated is there not?” she asks as Lalone nods “Indeed Head Councillor, Bacteria..Disease and unknown dangers are a few things to consider. A small expedition to study the planet, its flora and fauna is greatly suggested before we colonize.” he adds

Vira nods, the other councillors nod in agreement. She stands “Very Well Lalone, I then task you with assembling a small team to send to the planet. We will establish a few new protocols for colonization. We need to ensure the health and safety of the men, women and children likely to populate that new world..Oh and Councillor assign a team leader..you will not be going.”

He looks at her oddly “I need you and your own team to work in cooperation with the Gravity Project. Is that understood?” she asks. Lalone nods “Yes Ma’am.” he says

Uri nods as he speak “This Gravity Project will solve a great many issues..and is one of many projects that the Navy and other Military offices will need before we can field ships of any kind. It’s difficult enough on the pilots and crews of the ships we have.”

As part of the Science Pact, Federation Scientists aid Sephorian, Auroran, and Remnant Scientists in the Gravity Project in hopes of creating a working system for gravity onboard ships and stations in the future. (2 AP)

The Federation sends a small team of scientist to the newly discovered Continental World to survey its Flora, Fauna and it’s native allergens to ensure a colonization effort would not be hindered by such dangers, and to see if the native Flora could aid in bolstering a massive Agriculture Expansion.. (1 AP)

The Terran Federation takes an initiative on educating and learning next to its Xeno Population in an attempt to better integrate it’s Non-Human Citizens hoping to learn a great deal about their cultures and needs to better provide to them, in hopes they can in return better serve a role in the Federation. (1 AP)

The Federation offers to aid in retrofitting the Remnants Colony ship into a Carrier. The Federation Shipyards are far more capable of completing such a task. Should they accept and move the Carrier to their shipyard they will aid in it’s modification. If the offer is not accepted then work would begin on expanding the shipyard. (2 AP)

The council of Aurora would hold a meeting with August, Engineer Cynthia, Fernando and Foreman George showing up one after the other to attend. Soon the meeting would be under way after everyone takes their designated seat; the council room would be more organized and neat with the newly designed flag finally being hung up on the wall. August would start the meeting reading off a few numbers or statistics about the colonies recent years before turning to the council members “So, how is progress on your teams ends?” she asks crossing her arms and waiting. First Engineer Cynthia stands holding a new futuristic tablet “Well the factory is underway creating more of the Zeus rail guns although at a slow pace its much better than doing them by hand” She comments thinking “Oh right we’ve begun working with the people from the other colonies on a prototype for Artifical Gravity” she says rattling off the names of the colonies; New Sephoria, Terran Federation, and the Remnants. August nods “Good that’ll be very useful for our ships...make sure you focus on that, Fernando give them some help would you?” She asks to which Fernando sighs and nods before standing “Alright well we’ve made significant progress with the robots, we’ve got the head models down and now we need to run multiple test runs..fix a few things before we can officially call these robots functional and capable of doing tasks” He says taping on his tablet a few times and nods. August smiles “I hear that the coding is also coming along nicely, I would like your coders to work more on these...we need to make sure our robots arent so easily hacked and yes I know we have alien empires around us but...just try to get some help from them” She nods; Fernando agreeing before quieting. George would be the next to stand up clearing his throat “Its safe to say I think we’ve actually domesticated these...worms..even though we’ve made them a farm they seem very attached to human interaction some of the people on the outskirts of the city even taking to feed the things!” He laughs grinning before clearing his throat in embarrassment “Any how...the farms going quite well..the chefs are working hard to farm up the eggs and giving us more than we need in eggs so...breakfast is never a real issue.” He thinks “I believe its time for us to expand more through this world...we need more farms...more industrial capabilities and more houses” He rattles off a few suggestions. August quietly listens before she would nod “I agree...let's start to work on these issues people...we have a long way to go before we’re safe from threats coming from space” She says. Soon the council hall would empty with each council leader being lead by a group of guards.

With the robotics and coding teams working diligently at their task progress goes fairly well, a fresh batch of robots are assembled; software being installed into the back of their heads. The two teams would work together on this joint project, the first tests would be basic tasks starting with the grasping motions while someone sits near by connected to the robot with the head set. Gradually the tests would progress to tougher and more difficult tasks from carrying objects or climbing/walking over rough terrain.

Meanwhile an expansion project is created, industrial sectors and agricultural sectors being assigned around the capital along with various housing complexes. Of course a standard of living is to be upheld, running water and the likes being a necessity for any household; the colonies government would be overseeing many of these construction projects with Foreman George at the head of each.

A trade deal would also be offered to the Tassarean Republic, Protorian Council, The Grgl(?) and Confederation of Xaplonius; trying to simply increase the flow of trade between the colony and the aliens and attract possibly more scientists with the opportunity to make a name if only small one in the creation of the various projects the colony does.

Hephaestus Holdings Incorporated

An Equal-Opportunity Employer!

VEvXJg3.jpg

CEO Steven Penrith and Phillip Narau sat in a private booth in Hephaestus' most prominent restaurant. Steven had decided he was sick of talking in his office that day, and also he was hungry. The two were (surprisingly) quietly eating while discussing the latest deals and decisions at the time.

"Look, Phil, mate, I know you think there's profit in that Earth expedition, but I just don't think it's marketable."

Phillip, the Corporation's super-accountant, begged to differ.
"The tourism opportunities would be exemplary. If we could get in early, there are only avenues for expansion there. Earth will be a target for 'pilgrimage'. People will require lodgings, food, transport. Everything we can provide."

Steven slurped down his Asian-Italian 'Noodles and Meatballs' and shook his head.
"You forget Phil--Governments. We'll be working with governments. They'll want to turn the place into a 'national park,' or something dopey like that. 'Free for all human peoples.' And guess who'll be fronting the bill? Members of the Council. I want Hephaestus nowhere near it so we can politely and justifiably refuse."
He took a moment to shake his Fork-sticks at Phillip chidingly.
"And this is all assuming Earth still exists. Considering the condition of that shitty sun of ours when we left, it's probably got the appearance of a charred tennis-ball. That is if it hasn't been melted completely, or swallowed by the sun, or shattered into a million pieces."

"There could be other planets. Surviving ancient human relics, perhaps? Mars, for instance, could still have those rovers. There are many marks left by our species in our home-system. There could even be more human survivors."

Steven interrupted Phil with a short groan. "Who the hell wants to go to bloody Mars? There's nothing there! Never has been! It's only connection with us is that we named it. We have as much connection with it, or any of those other planets, as we do with Hades."

Phillip quickly realised he needed to push a stronger angle. "But possible surivors, sir. That is a significant payoff for a remarkably low-risk investment. Especially if some of them are skilled labourers. I would imagine they'd have to be to escape."

Steven looked up from his food and narrowed his eyes as Phillip spoke. This spurred the accountant onward, clearly having captured his employer's imagination.

"The Terrans and Aurorans strike me as the egalitarian types. They'll want to mete out all survivors so as not to offend the colonies that supported them. Extra human employees added to a possible major tourism opportunity? Surely that's a worth the money and time."

Steven tapped his fork-stick on his chin in thought. With a sigh, he dipped it back into his noodles. "Ah, fine. Have it your way. If I'm right though, you owe me a bottle of that fancy new Sydney Pinot Noir. We have more pressing concerns though."

"War profiteering, sir?"

And the two of them laughed and drank the night away, as old friends ought.

Actions

The order for the weapons came in, and was met with glee from the factory workers and managers. The huge stockpile of raw resources is poured into the weapon's fabrication. The belching new factories are given a christening of mass-production worthy of their assembly lines. Considering the capacity of Hephaestus industrial output at this stage, the managers are encouraged to 'let loose' with their manufacturing. In fact, they are tasked to see exactly many extra weapons they can produce after the order is met. Any excess (after all quality tests) will be passed on to the Republic for free (since they're first-time customers), in order to court them for future business. (-4AP)

Strangely enough, the Board realises that they have significantly more resources to work with this year than previously predicted. This is unusual, due to many of them assuming that the Republic's order would take up most of the year's budget and labour. Not wishing to look a gift horse in the mouth, the Board allocates the extra resources to the plucky engineers and scientists fiddling with the Grgl spacecraft. They are requested to study, analyse, and reverse-engineer the grav-plates that create the artificial gravity. They desire a working prototype by the end of the year if possible, but are willing to wait until the next financial year if they can't recreate it. (-2AP)

Upon receiving the complaint from the Grgl representatives, Hephaestus elects one of its top negotiators to settle their worries. They explain the situation as thus--

As far as Hephaestus is aware, Grgl are treated the same as any other employee within the Corporation. Each and every individual who comes to Hephaestus for employment must first sign a contract with very explicit conditions. One of those conditions is 'if a business is formed within Hephaestus, it must incorporate into Hephaestus.' The Corporation does not 'tax' individuals. But each subsidiary gives a portion of its earnings to the Head Office and Board of Hephaestus Holdings Incorporated. This money goes towards unmarketable infrastructure, the security forces, special R&D projects, etc etc. This system is a quirk of Hephaestus' evolution from business to 'nation,' and works remarkably well--so long as businesses incorporate. A business that does not incorporate is arguably similar to 'tax evasion' in the more conventional sense. No species are treated differently in this regard, including humans. If an individual is found who is not an employee and are operating a business without corporate identification, they are disrupting revenue from its rightful course. They are therefore vagrants, and are trespassing on private property. Should Grgl appear to be unfairly treated, it is more likely-than-not a coincidence.
The Confederation of Xaplonius' business is deeply valued by Hephaestus. To assuage any Grgl's fears, a full investigation into the matter will be performed at the beginning of the next financial year, just in case.

In regards to the Earth Expedition, Hephaestus desires to attend, and will send 100 surveyors, search-and-rescue workers, and security personal along with the other colonies' parties.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

The life of an imperial citizen

Location: Novam Domum, Residential district, Worker's house, bedroom

It was silent in the bedroom of Kyle and dust was hanging in the air whilst the only sound was the snoring of a man and woman until a screeching loud noise that came from the deepest pits of hell sounded through the bedroom.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Kyle and his wife groggily woke up and Kyle with his eyes half opened slammed his hand to turn off that noise box from hell.

He then slowly went up, yawned and started getting out of bed and got to the main room in his one story apartment in one of the apartment complexes in the Novam Domum residential district.

Then he walked over to the coffee machine, put a cup under it and started it up meanwhile he started to begin preparing breakfast for him, his wife and his child whilst he walked around like a zombie as he was half-awake at the moment.

A minute later Kyle brought food and milk to his wife who was laying in bed with a noticeable large mass at her belly (and no she is not fat) he then layed back to her and give her a kiss and putting his hand on the belly.

He then felt a heartbeat and smiled "so how are you doing my darling and my little child," he would chime as he played the breakfast next to his wife who was laying on bed smiling", I hope alright" he would say with a large noticeable smile.

"Well we are doing alright thank you, though my little child is a bit of a kicker, he is just as annoying as his dad" she would joke.

"We can't have that can we,"Kyle smiled", that would just be oh so terrible." he would then tickle the belly to which his life started laughing"Kyle... Kyle..... please stop" she would say in between laughs and Kyle would then give his wife a big kiss before leaving saying" well, I'm going to work now have a nice day.".

Then he quickly put on his clothes finished his breakfast and then left the apartment building going down the stairs and then rushed to the train seeing he only had a few minutes left and as he rushed towards the train he went inside just as the door was closing and he swept the sweat from his head but was disturbed by a friendly joking voice.

"Well it seems as if you are late even when going to work, I wonder how you will deal with a child." Kyle's best friend Derick chided.

"I had to make breakfast for my precious wife and I hoped that the longer I stayed away the less I would smell you, you stink." Kyle then waved his hand in front of his nose before getting punched lightly on the shoulder by Derick and they would continue joking until arriving at the final station at which they needed to step out and they walked towards the miner's station and suited up efficiently and quick.
They then went on the train and waited as they in half an hour arrived at the mine.

Here they took their mining equipment which was always locked at the mine for safety procedures and went around 30 meters ending at a tunnel/cavern where a part of the iron ore was already dug out but you could still clearly see the brown rust that signaled the ore.

Kyle then powered up his drill and started to cut out all the pieces of ore he could see whilst at certain points he could see behind him that supports were added as to make sure the ceiling didn't collapse on him.

At around what would count as 14:00 in earth time one tune was sounded through everyone helmet which signaled the start of lunch.

They then went to the main floor standing in the line of a large robust machine that put a sort of paste and water into two different holes in the suit thus giving food and drinks.

Kyle then ate and drank his food using multiple buttons on his suit mean whilst he remarked on the intercom to a few of his friend "I feel like that Darth Vader guy from that very old earth movie Star Wars if I am correct."

"Yeah, though I don't think a lot of people have watched the movies seeing as they are mostly a movie icon that introduced new special effects, wow they were so bad you can't believe it, anyone could see it wasn't real new movies have so much better graphics and special effects."

The rest would agree on the intercom until the sound started again and they continued their work and went down the lift to their positions and started to mine, then at around 18:45 and the klaxon sounded signaling the end of the work day.

Everyone then once again went to the lockers and locked up their mining equipment.

Then they returned once again with the train and then another train eventually arriving back at where they had started and Kyle returned to his wife who had mostly stayed home most of the day and he had a nice evening meal that she had made with the rations she had collected that day and at that moment he rejoiced her being with child seeing as they got extra rations now though most were for her and his child.

He then excused himself after his evening meal, went to his bedroom to pick up a small book no larger than his hand and then went to his toilet.

Then he carefully made sure that his wife was not around, locked the door and then grabbed a small photograph of Alexander Varellion from behind a painting, opened his small book and read out.

" The emperor is the greatest being above all and is the Shepard of humanity."

" He guides us and protects us and will forever stand as our eternal guardian."

" He makes the land green and the sky full of clouds brining a better future for all of humanity."

" He brings us the space and an eternal frontier full of glorious future of mankind."

" He gives us food and health and brings us our children."

" He is the light of a new age and preaches our glorious future."

" The Emperor is god and god is the Emperor."

" The Emperor denies his divinity yet only a true god would deny his divinity thus proving he is truly divine."

" Emperor protect us from sickness and bring us health, bring us children and give them life."

" Deus imperator praetorium."

" The emperor protects."

United States Of Arcturus

______________________________________

The first contact was the pivotal point of the year if not the nation's history. With the recently elected President Johnson at the helm the United States would continue her advancement throughout the stars. The last few years had proven fruitful for the nation, not only had they flourished they now had the capability to colonize a new world, expanding their power across the galaxy. The USS Intrepid after watching the alien ship leave the system returned to the inner planets with their new guest, dropping him off at the Institute of technology and engineering on the planet Hermes. It was the hopes of the United States that they could decipher his language and uncover the secrets of their race, meanwhile with the prospect of settling the new world came to fruition. With the goal set the shipyards sprang to life to create a new Elon class colony ship, a replica of those used to get to Arcturus but with the jumpdrive being replaced by the warp drive. Thanks to the chief engineer receiving his new white suit however

morganfreeman_maninwhite.jpg

his production soared and he decided to upgrade the shipyard as well.

The Saga Initiative

Ben clapped his hands together, while whispering under his breath “It’s showtime”. He pointed his fingers to the cameraman and producer signaling the start of the broadcast.

“Hi.. Most of you know me as Governor Watson. Today, I am just Ben Watson. At 0800 hours, we achieved FTL capabilities that allow us to jump from one system to the next. What we were suppose to be able to achieve when we left Earth our scientist and engineers finally reached what our predecessors failed to do. This now has us past the definition of ‘initiative’ and we’d be considered that of a technocracy. Furthermore, right now we believe we are all that is left of the Human race. As of now we will now be known as the Free Human Technocracy. This reform is nothing different and what the plan would have led us to establish.” Ben would lean back in his chair taking a deep breath, swiping on his pad to his next section of his speech. “Before continuing on. I would to tell y’all that we have recently found two other colonizable planets in a neighboring galaxy. We will be gathering volunteers up to 15,000 to set out and establish an outpost on one of these planets. We ask for anyone with experience in marine biology to please step forward as you will be briefed on the way there.”  Ben would take another deep breath, “This is an exciting time for our future. We are growing and expanding the human race as we know it. We will be making history again. As we will be the first humans to have two colonies simultaneously working together. It almost brings a tear to my eye how far we have come after all we have experienced. May God Bless you all.” Ben would stare into the camera, as it cut off. The room would explode with clapping and people chattering about what Ben announced. He had kept it quiet for over a year now after his scientist brought him the data from the scout ship. Now it was all about preparations. They had prepared for this, and the colonies production the next few years would show it.

The Free Human Technocracy

The council room was silent, as Ben was picking the new governor of the future colony. “This will wait. Until the colony is preparing to launch. So I can gain a better read on how y’all would lead.” He gets up out of his chair walking out of the council room to a bunch of disgruntled mumbles and sighs from the councilors. As he headed out of the room he was being chased down by an office aide with a message for him. It was from the Office of Public Administrations, there seemed to be an overflow of people willing to volunteer to the colonize the new system. The Blackwater private military group, was the first to sign up along with a group of ten marine biologist and a few engineers with their construction crews. Ben smiled seeing the enthusasim but each person would be required to go through a certain amount of training for the oceanic planets.

Not much was really of interest to catch the eye of citizens. A marked increase in alien visitors is happening. But the colony had all voted that was how they wanted it to be. So far the right to vote in the colony is not given to aliens. As a mark of respect however Protorians are allowed citizenship in the nation. A continuation of previous policies keeps pace. Farm lands will continue to expand, hamlets dotting the valleys and mountain tops. The Protorian crop is very useful, having fully spread and grown. Within the city industry continues, with the various mining outpost gradually feeding it.

The Protorians were not begrudged after they issued the order. Instead Utopie halted research into it, acquiescing with grace. Because what they gained from it was the power of knowledge. If the Protorians feel the need to immediately step in, it was a truly dangerous weapon. The program is halted in its tracks, but not forgotten.

Utopie accepts the invitation into the new Human council.
