Aurora

Soon enough, the Helix leaves its shipyard, looming in orbit above the colony. A bit of a step forward, to a better future, some would say. More hope.

It has taken quite a few years, but the result is remarkable. Small, but remarkable. The scientist present a functional (but very energy-consuming) small dish that is capable of slowing and bending the trajectory of bundled energy and solid mass directed towards it. The latter being less affected it appears. A deflector dish, per say.

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

A result that can be seen. In a testing enviroment a quantum anchor apparatus manages to force a beaconed testing drone into the quantum level for a fragment of a fragement of a fragment of a nanosecond, just for it to reappear half a centimeter further. Whilst the scale is still miniscule, this is a proof of concept.

The AI robotics project on the other hand appears to stumble through some difficult phases. They manage to focus their efforts on first preliminary research and studies upon which parts need substantial improvement and need to be developed properly first to be a foundation for capable robots.

With no idea about their origins, this attempt at sending signals is entirely futile.

Hephaestus Holdings Incorporated

The shipyard is finished and already got a popular name given by the people. The Anvil, to forge Hephaestus future! At least it is a popular suggestion, the naming falls with the CEO, so do the foremans indicate as they report back in, that the shipyard is finished and ready for business. (SL 1 finished.)

A couple of shady Backhatta dealers, a few bribed hands and a Redon energy capacitator inside a newly designed prototype, eating 20% more energy than before given the poor energy cells of Hephaestus, BUT giving it about 40% more cutting power. That seems like a fair deal, given that so many company resources were invested in this... acquisition. This information is given by that particular Tassarean researcher in private to the board. He has his sources and had a couple of favors. Why not prove himself to his employers?

There is actually a pending trade offer. A Libellan merchant offers information about a nearby solar system with a habitable planet and a useable Libellan colony ship at the same time for only five-hundred tons of raw Xylorite.

Aegis

As deep sea collectors were one of the paths mankind pursued to satisfy the need for ores and metals in the late 21st century, this pursuit goes surprisingly well, in terms of design, and by the end of the year the requested ten collectors are roaming the seas, silently, "eating" layers upon layers of sediments. The unloading process goes just as fast, as they pour it into the newly constructed docking facility with storage capacities.

And the hail is answered. Within two hours after sending the signal, a ship is detected in the system, approaching the colony on a direct course. It appears to be a small exploration vessel (encounter).

Imperial Republic of Mankind

Another year, another frigate. The Imperial Republic arms up, preparing for the worst.

On the other hand, another survey, no special results, aside from common deposits of ore and metal.

A few of the planter machines are called back, to be refitted with potato plants. If the ecosphere stabilizes more by the next year, and there is no dark rain, then it should be safe to go and plant them.

Designing such a suit is a heavy task, whilst they manage to draft up first rough sketches with most parameters in place, they certainly require more resources to do so.

The surveillance on the moon reports that one of the grey monstrosities has been sighted on the surface. One of the frigates in orbit quickly reacted and destroyed it with a well aimed shot. This event, whilst no losses were taken, clearly indicates that this abandoned facility is still active or... "populated".

The Terran Federation

And the alloys make up the armor for the newly finished frigate. All remaining stages went well, and this new ship becomes part of the Federation's fleet.

Altering the laws of gravitation like that is difficult. But pulling objects towards a projecting source is doable. In concept, so this year's results, by directing a gravitational pull from a gravity inducing source towards an object, pulls that object in, as if the gravity was normal. Distance of course weakens this.

A casualty reports comes in, from the Tassarean Republic. 250 Humans have lost their lives in recent engagements. The remaining volunteers are sent back for rest and recreation, as another Tassarean unit takes their place. They bring some experience in combat against the Corrupters and are familiar with handling Tassarean equipment. In particular, one mentions that the Republic has lost 165,000 soldiers in this past year alone.

Die Volksrepublik

So it is. I assume there is not much to explain here.

Whilst the idea might be good, the people are skeptical, given that the other races and nations have their respective military academies and are far more versed in terms of combat in space.

With no resources assigned, there won't be any progress.

Silver Knight Corporation

The frigate is finished by the end of the year, bolstering the forces of the Silver Knight Corporation. It is up to the requested standards.

It's either, or. Transformed into a mech, the scientists state, that it's very unwieldy and difficult to control when in space and not on a solid surface with gravity. They suggest to leave such a mech mode for real ground operations, whilst it remains in fighter mode, when in air or space.

Unfortunately another survey goes without any remarkable findings.

The Han Dominion

With due diligence, the foundations for this new bio-engineering division were established. An empty and waiting facility building was suitable to be repurposed as a first lab immediately.

Whilst the survey of Lenguo yields nothing remarkable, it's quite contrary for Shiguo. As the moon turns towards the sun, in a crater, what was originally seen as ravines from the surface of the planet, turns out to be tiered ring-shaped facility of entirely unknown origin. Closer inspection reveals it to be seemingly inactive, in the center of this foreign facility is a vast circular hatch visible. The material is substantially dark and can not be penetrated by any known sensor devices as of right now. (Encounter at your leisure.)

Free Human Technocracy

The Project continues. A prototype to be expected next year at current rate.

The first (!) state-built school for mankind after the Exodus from Solaris. People are glad about the fact that the government cares for them.

United States Of Arcturus

It looms, like a giant shadow in the sky. Invisible at night to be mistaken for a cluster of stars, clearly visible at day. The engineers and architects are proud of what they did, nobody of mankind has ever built such a huge entity in space. (SL 4 now.)

The Holy Kingdom of Eadn

Two more frigates are finished, bolstering the Kingdom's fleet substantially. I hope everyone keeps track of their ships.

The warp drives are fully functional. The test jump into the closest neighbouring solar system proves to run flawlessly. Despite the communication outage due to the distance, the frigate returns with new visual data and sensor information about the neighbouring system. It's a red dwarf with a gas giant and an asteroid belt, nothing remarkable about it.

The Remnants

At last, after all those years, the first shipyard is finished. For building the necessary vessels for expansion and exploration certainly a boon. To be independent, so to speak. (SL 1 now.)

Both ships are built without issues, one for simple transport, the other for protection purposes, so one could claim.

Events

The conflicts seem to be at a standstill this year. The corrupter front notes nothing noteworthy, them being distracted by something it seems. The heavy losses of the Tassarean Republic forces them to consolidate and use the break for another round.

The Karass Dominion opens outlying outposts and systems for trade. They appear to have no specific territorial demands, seeing as their war with Galaron is now settled.

The first refugees from Galaron appear.

A few eerie signals are being received from the East.

The Tjieran Principate and Ceri Collective have halted their offensive for this year.

The Hephaestus reps, upon hearing the offer given by the Libellan merchant erupt in laughter. It would save them time, sure, but for that price? "Tell him he's dreamin'. -Steven Penrith. They wouldn't go any higher than 200 tons. It would be more cost-effective to build their own ship.

As the Tassarean scientist revealed his source for the laser-advancement, the board admonished him for his behaviour.

How dare he think they'd care? Criminal organisations? Smugglers? Irrelevant. Results were what mattered to the Board, and the gentleman gained their appreciation for his work. They informed him that there was a rather sensitive project they had been negotiating with another colony. Due to his resourcefulness and 'pragmatism,' he was on the short list. They assured him that the project would open many doors for him in the Corporation. Until now, a significant bonus is rewarded to him in his next check.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I don't wanna do it!" Steven groaned. He had slumped into his armchair with his head in his hands. He was clearly in a miserable mood. One that appeared to be caused by a looming Phillip Narau.

"Mr Penrith, we need to look at this situation logically." The super-accountant paced Steven's chair. He was experienced in convincing his employer to take the correct course. "We will soon be expanding our borders, and we are in relatively close proximity to multiple other colonies. We need to make sure our expansion does not impede the expansion of our neighbours. So we're not all scrambling for territory."

"But why do I have to talk to them?!" Steven was genuinely whining now. "Why can't you take care of it? I hate politics! It's all about ideology, and secret agendas, and nothing to do with business! Isn't this part of your job?"

"Sir, you must understand." Phillip paced around the desk, and gently eased his large frame into an armchair. "You being involved in the proceedings grants legitimacy to the proceedings, and shows that you take them seriously."

"But I don't! I don't take them seriously!"

"I know, sir. But it needs to appear that you do."

Steven, with all the maturity of a 5-year-old, groaned again.

Phillip chose to change the subject, now that his point had been received. "Why don't we talk about the Galaron influx, sir?"

Steven glanced up for a moment, and grunted. He clearly perked up a little, now that his mind was momentarily distracted from the idea of political meetings.

"Oh yeah, yeah. I figured it'd make for good PR if we sponsored high-achieving Galaron kids. Make them grateful for the company early on. Good chance for future brand-loyalty, you know?" He pulled his face out of his hands, and the meticulous business cogs in his brain started turning again. "Give them scholarships for higher educations. Send them off to learn at Aurora, or something. Might lose a few to idealism, but we'd retain a decent number. Good for future R&D investments."

Phillip nodded his head slowly, and typed Steven's words into his data-pad. "Could we use them for anything else?"

"Oh yeah, of course we can." Steven sat up now, clearly in his element again. "Those Galarons were militarists types, right? Been at war for some time. Obviously they'll be drawn towards our Corporate enforcers or private security. We could use that to boost our mud-feet's numbers, as well as potentially add veteran soldiers and their experience. We have everything to gain by having them here. As long as they fit the bill for employment..."

Phillip smiled, happy to know that the boss hadn't lost his spark. Maybe he could keep up his enthusiasm long enough to look actually happy to be at that meeting...

Actions

Hephaestus Holdings sends materials and relevant experts to the Free Human Technocracy in order for them to construct a colonial freighter. The completed ship will be delivered next year, in trade for basic laser weapon technology. (-2AP)

The scientists, having ramshackled the Redon's emitter into a Hephaestus weapon, now look to creating more efficient energy storage. Since they have an over-abundance of xylorite currently, they decide to fiddle with that. They obtain permission from the Board to begin experiments with the substance in order to create a higher-yield portable energy source for their weapons. (-2AP)

The Board is looking to hire individuals on Hades with combat experience to further train the Enforcers. With growing galactic threats encroaching, it's only prudent to arm their troopers with knowledge as well as weapons. (-0AP)

Hephaestus Security are renamed 'Hephaestus Enforcers' to better reflect their growing necessity. (-0AP)

The little Grgl freighter is launched again, and sent to the system directly "west" of Hades. It seeks mineral-rich planets. Habitable planets are a secondary goal. (-0AP)

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

170px-Coat_of_arms_of_the_Sovereign_Mili

As the daily business of the Order and its civilians goes on unhindered on Rhodius, the central complex of the House of Malta is filled with running scientists, engineers, and knights. On the top level of the giant skyscraper, so high that to open a window would be to expose oneself to oxygen deprivation, the head scientist of the Order briefs his leader.

"We've breached the quantum level, Grand Master."

"Then our work has met reward. How goes the rest of our governmental projects?"

"Little to no progress, sir. We could not make contact with the alien frequencies."

"Then focus our efforts on the quantum anchor."

With the success of sending a drone into the quantum level and effectively transporting it, even just half a centimeter, even for less than a millionth of a second, the Order's watching leadership cries out in glee. There could be no greater relief for them than their investment beginning to show traces of paying off, and so funding is pulled from the robotics programs to further escalate the creation of the quantum anchor. The large fusions engines roared to life as they began to idle on the tarmac. With armed guards pacing it around it they waited as a small convoy of black cars drove over to meet them. Colonel Johnson stood at the top of the staircase outside the spacecrafts door. People began exiting the cars carrying pieces of luggage or in the case of several marines a crate of rifles. As the final crowd filed into the door President Whittaker stepped out from his car and ascended the staircase. Colonel Johnson saluted the president before going to meet his handshake “Good morning Mr President, welcome on board.” President Whittaker smiled “Good morning to you too colonel. I trust lunch will be served shortly?” The colonel nodded “Yes Mr President as soon as we are underway.” The President nodded as he made his way towards his in flight office. The stairs were slowly backed away by the ground crew as Colonel Johnson reached out pulling the door closed and locking it. He made his way into the cockpit closing and locking the door itself sitting down next to his copilot. “Let's get going then aye?” He keyed his mic near his waist broadcasting over the radio “Plymouth Tower this is Air Force One requesting departure runway 22 left.” in short reply the radio responded “Air Force One, taxi right, left, left to runway 22.” The colonel throttled the engines as the craft backed up. Contrary to the name runway. It was simply a pad with the proper shielding to experience engine blast. Slowly it rolled on its wheels up to the large platform and stopped “Tower this is Air Force One requesting departure runway 22” The voice in the radio responded “Air Force One you are cleared for departure runway 22. Good flying.” With that Colonel Johnson rotated the engines as he hefted on the throttle. Slowly the ship rose into the sky picking up speed as it journeyed through the atmosphere into the cold black of space. Clearing the stratosphere the engines cut out from their burn as it began to drift. Colonel Johnson unbuckled as he keyed the Intercom.  “Good morning everyone. I'd like to welcome you aboard Air Force One. Our flight time to the Karass Dominion will be roughly 3 weeks at full warp. Which we will be entering shortly. Please make yourselves comfortable and settle in for the haul.” as the ship began to align itself with its destination four f-92g’s pulled up into formation with the ship. The fighters, equipped with warp drives, the ships all slowed before seemingly coming to a stop. In an instant they disappeared as they entered warp.

A truly massive ship, the Valley Forge Class Carrier is the first US ship to feature Itoron hulls. The ship also contains the new Logic Assistance Systems from the Free Human Technocracy, this feature has been adapted for the use of shipboard personnel to boost personal performance onboard the ship as well as various engineering and weapon systems. Also onboard as standard are Gravitomagnetic generators. The ship is nearly two kilometers long and 600 meters across, powered by 20 cold fusion reactors split up into four reactor blocks the ship can perform full function with only half the reactors needing to be online with ten for double redundancy for the ship. The carrier boasts an impressive arsenal of weaponry. The carrier features 30 dual 25cm projectile railguns mounted ventrally to allow the ship to bombard the planet below. Mounted dorsally are 50 dual 30cm railguns along with 20, 180 calibre conventional cannons. The ship features extensive missile weaponry with 20 missile tubes mounted on each side of the ship, contrary to earlier ship designs these missile launch tubes are mounted horizontally and designed to be reloaded after firing. The ship boasts 50 3cm railguns mounted around the ship to act as anti aircraft weaponry. The carrier also features the same 20mm vulcan point defense system mounted strategically to cover all angles of attack. The ship's crew consists of 3000 as well as the marine detachment brigade of 2000 bringing the total crew roster to 5000. With four massive hangar decks along with the main launch bay the Valley Forge can carries 200

F-92c Mogooses as well as 25 VC-9 bombers. The ships marine air wing boasts 20 y-111 assault ships along with 5 F-92c adapted for direct action ground support role. The ship also carries numerous vehicles in the marine cargo bay for use in surface ops.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

40k_imperial_aquila__transparent__by_fug

Return to earth

Location: Novam Domum, Imperial palace, Emperor’s office

Year: 6-4-2121

It was late in the evening on the planet of Novam Domum at the capital dome of the Imperial Republic of Mankind.

Here most light would start to go out, people went to sleep to prepare themselves to go to work yet at the Imperial palace the light kept shining, more specifically from the emperor’s office.

Here Alexander Varellion was typing at a rapid pace on the laptop in front of him .

If a person was to go inside they would be surprised by how messy the office looked.

There were a couple of coffee cups scattered around the place and random files littered the place.

The centerpoint of the office though was the desk that stood there and the light that shined on Alexander Varellion’s face.

His face did not look that good though as any person could see.

Tired eyes, pale skin and a yawn every few minutes after which he would again take a sip of his coffee.

Alexander knew that this was not healthy for him but he needed to get his work done.

Since who knew how much lives could be saved if he had the time to give new orders and how much more people could rebuild their lives.

He also needed to figure out how to destroy the grey abominations, especially with the recent sightings.

Thus he had stubbornly denied any move to get him to go to sleep, most pressing from his secretary Lily.

Alexander felt a warm feeling as he thought of his secretary who had stayed with him for almost as long as he had known even on earth.

Then he would pause.

Earth, the memories were painful, all that had happened there and all he and humanity as a whole had lost.

Thus his thoughts drifted of again to past times on earth and how he had become friends with Lily.

Flashback

Location: The Netherlands, Haarlem, Earth

Year: 8-1-2091

A loud screeching noise could be heard loud as a child groggily woke up from his nice sleep.

The child then half-awake pushed the off button on the alarm and slowly woke up.

He then looked up and saw on the clock in his room that the time was 7:15 and that he would start to wake up for his first day to the 3rd year class of his primary school.

It would be very exciting since he would meet new children who he would hopefully make friends with.

He then walked to his parent’s room and then pulled at the bed sheets of his parent’s bed sing-songing “mommy daddy can I go downstairs ?”

His parents would then slowly wake up and his mother tiredly spoke up “of course sweetie.”

“Ok thank you mommy.” Alexander would say after which he would then go down.

Before he went downstairs though he grabbed a book from the side table next to his bed before he went down.

The book was called Onwards to space and was a super cool book about how people went to mars to go and colonize it and go on incredible space adventures.

He then went downstairs and read it in the comfy chair while waiting for mommy and daddy to come downstairs to prepare breakfast.

When he heard them coming down the stairs he ran towards the door and followed his daddy and looked as he saw him make breakfast.

He then saw a weird word on the microwave as his daddy made his cornflakes and milk warm.

“Daddy what is that, hey pasta us that stands on the microwave ?” He said struggling to pronounce the name.

“Nothing to worry about, just a ridiciously cheap product,” he then muttered to himself as he read the small tag” why must everything say made in Australia.”

He then went on to prepare breakfast for his son and then right before his son left on his bike to school.

“Remember Alexander, try and make friends and not only read books ok.”

“Of course daddy” Alexander would say eagerly

He then started cycling towards school

Around 10 minutes later Alexander arrived at his school where he would nervously listen to the start of year speech and after that he would meet his class.

Then he needed to sit in a circle and everyone was introduced to each other.

There was nothing special about anyone at the circle except from one person, a girl but she was a girl, he would first try to find other friends, he didn’t want to get cooties.

Alexander’s genius mind denied that he didn’t want to be friends because of cooties but because he was nervous but Alexander ignored it.

He then talked to a group of cool boys and joined them.

But it did not feel right since the boys did not feel very kind but he had to have some friends right.

For that day Alexander followed the groups of boys until the next day when in the break the group went to the girl that was sitting alone at a bench alone reading a book and looking like she was alone.

“What are we doing guys” Alexander asked nervously as they approached the girl.

“Nothing, just giving her a lesson” the biggest boy in the group would say and Alexander found that that did not sound good.

Then the big guy of the group of 4 (excluding Alexander) spoke to the girl in an (for a child) menacing voice”what do we have here, a loner reading a book all by herself boohoo .”

Alexander started to feel very uncomfortable with what his ‘friend’ was saying, especially after the girl started to cry.

He then interjected “guys maybe we should go.” Which the leader squarely rejected by saying “no little guy.”

Alexander then felt something building up inside him until he felt that it couldn’t be released and he stood in front of the girl protecting her from the slowly approaching bullies.

“NO you are mean and I you will not bully her.” Alexander would said steadfast.

The leader of the group then scoffed and said in an angry tone”Don’t go in our way squirt.”

Alexander remained standing where he was before the leader of the group punched Alexander in the face and Alexander started to cry which was then noticed by the teachers.

An indignant teacher then said “Mr van der steen what is going here ?”

After the situation was explained and the bullies walked away Alexander sat with Lily in silence for some time until he spoke with regret clear in his voice.

“Sorry for helping them, I didn’t want to be mean.”

“Ok, thank you for protecting me though” the girl would say

Alexander nodded” what was your name again ?”

“Lily” Alexander would nod before noticing the title of the book the girl was reading and would speak in excitement “Is that the book onwards to space”.

Lily would nod,”I love that book” Alexander would say in excitement”me too” Lily said.

“I wish I could go to space and have amazing adventures” Alexander would say and Lily nodded”me too”.

“What would you want to be when you are older ?” Lily asked Alexander with curiosity in her voice.

“I want to become an inventor and a king like king Arthur.” Alexander said with pride in his voice.

“But you can’t be both at the same time right ?”Lily asked in confusion.

Alexander countered with”why not ?”.

Then the bell rang and they got back to class.

What both of them didn’t know that this was the start of a friendship that would never break and that would survive even after earth was death.

-present-

Alexander sighed as he though of those fine moments he head on earth but he also smiled as he though of how he met the love of his live.

He then looked up.

Where had that last thought came from.

He just ignored it and though further of how he had met his best friend for life.

Then he cleared himself up and remembered he needed to go to work once more.

0 ap is used creating a very small storage shed on the moon to preserve and store the grey abomination body

1 ap is spent trying to make large areas of farmfields with potatoes on them.

Meanwhile some of the domes would stop producing potatoes since they were to be moved outside as well as a few other domes and they would start to be replaced by luxury products like coco beans, coffee beans, sugar etc.

2 ap is spent on trying to create a large powered combat suit (like picture from last post)

2 ap is spent creating a university for the people of the Imperial republic and improving the education system

0 ap is spent on setting a corvette on a journey east following the galactic cluster looking for signs of civilization

The Holy Kingdom of Eadn
Population: 108,000

Eadni Fleet:
3 Sulemain Class Frigates [Warp Equipped]

12 Falcon-I Fighters

With nothing of much circumstance going on in the Holy Kingdom and with the industrial sectors booming, the High Court continues to commission the construction with a goal of 12 frigates in a decade or less. When news returns to the colony of the success of the first warp drive, several celebrations occur with many hailing this achievement as a new era in human exploration.

Since the Eadni have no idea that other civilizations from Earth still exist, the Eadni take it upon themselves to become the heritage of mankind. The Sultan issues a proclamation of heritage, aptly named for its purpose, expressing a desire to have Eadni on at least 3 different worlds over the next 30 years. Small preparations would be made for such journeys, but for now nothing concrete would be conducted.

[4 AP] The continued construction of Sulemain Class Frigates for the expansion of the new fleet that would bring the stars closer for the Eadni people.

Die Volksrepublik

The second frigate had been completed soon after the first set off for voyage. While the first was still with the Protorians, a new batch of orders were sent down. The Berg would not be risked just yet in the war. Especially since the front had seemed to quiet down this year. No, the Berg was given bigger ambitions. They would be the first official ship in the SATO coalition fleet. Captained by a Protorian of the Republic, their orders were unique.

The Berg shall begin to take it's first patrol route of SATO space. They will start with the Silver Knights, and warp their war to other SATO members. At each capital it is hoped they'll be well received. After all they were specifically ordered to treat all SATO members as if they were of the PAR. At each capital the distinctly German and various alien races will for the first time meet other human colonies. Celebrations, sports, and sharing of stories ensues. With each trip, the Berg crewmen gain more and more fond memories.

At home things remain the same, expansion. More and more aliens and human children are coming into society. The city Utopie and other towns had been prepared for them. Alongside a massive agriculture sector, growth was to remain in the green. Space was aplenty, and so was food. Galorans are beseeched to come escape the horrors of the war on Jatorak. They could live their lives, and not have to worry about anything but living.

The PAR decides to expand it's Ship Yards. (2 ap) (SL2)

Continuing to expand academy. Though may not yet provide top notch military training, can still be useful. For now the PAR will search for veteran professors to teach their military classes. Alongside that it will be used as a regular schooling system for all the new children. Many original German settlers were chosen for top notch education domestic or military. So kids and teenagers can still attend class, and troops can learn ground tactics. (1 ap)

Work begins on a new colony ship alongside the new shipyard. (1 ap)

Human Consolidation Federation

800px-Flag_of_NATO.svg.png

With many threats emerging in the Galaxy, Several nations and territories join together in an alliance so that they may overcome and prosper against any who deem it wise to attack a member state. The Human Consolidation Federation, consisting of the Free Human Technocracy, The United States Of Arcturus and The Imperial Republic Of Mankind. With similar values and stances on galactic affairs this alliance will serve to bind and strengthen the member states. Each member state shall uphold and and follow the principles and guidelines set out in the Federation mandate.

  • To share all technology no matter the purpose or type, with all members.

  • All member states shall assist to the fullest of their abilities both militarily and civilly should one of the member states come under attack.

  • No member states shall allow their populace to engage in intercourse and/or carry a human xeno hybrid to term. The Only exception remains the Da’Nor whose biology resembles our own almost completely so that any hybrid will be Human.

  • No Xenos shall be allowed to settle, travel through or conduct trade within any of the member states, exceptions of the xenos allowed are voted upon by the federation and include the following.

-The Da’Nor

-The Skellar Kingdom

-The Karass Dominion

  • In order to accept a new member into the Federation there must be a ⅔ majority vote.

  • Member states shall share with and disclose any information regarding the security of the federation and/or any member state.

  • Member states shall share all rare minerals and materials freely within the Federation to further the goals of all.

  • No member states shall partake in or take in/harbor anyone in the slaves trade/contract binded forced labour/binding internships. No matter the race.

  • Member states will exercise any means necessary to ensure the Human colonies throughout the Galaxy do not assist in any of the above slaving crimes.

  • All member states shall assist the true legitimate government in any means necessary in the event of a civil war or coup d'etat.

It is by these morals and standards that we hold ourselves to and swear to abide by them to the best of our abilities, so help us God.

With the survey lacking in results the ships are sent back to orbit the planet without much consequence, while disappointing it is something that can be done for another day. Efforts are refocused on mining the ore that is on the planet on which they reside currently. Boosting extraction and then refinement and processing that must be done to ensure the metal becomes useful in crafting buildings, weapons and ships. With the Corvettes returning to orbit they are greeted by the new frigate which now serves the purpose of being the flagship while the fleet is small.

The Silver Navies job for the year was not simply waiting around, scores of refugees began to enter Company space, looking for the PR stunt of taking in refugees the Executive Committee allows for the taking in of up to ten thousand refugees but no more as not to upset the continuation of the human majority population. The Corvettes and Frigate escort various ships down to the surface often piloted by smugglers or pirates paid off to get them into protective space. The Executive committee would search among these Galaron to determine how many of them could join the science or engineering team and determines the rest can find employment in the factories, mines farms or other small businesses set up on the planet.

A Contract is signed between the Terran Federation and the Corporation for join research, along with general trade and commerce to begin between the two colonies allowing the markets of both Colonies to enjoy commerce from either side. Though Arms manufacturing among the human Colonies is still in an Oligopoly controlled by the Knight, Hephaestus and various other State run Companies.

The SATO Frigate is well received in advance, an honour guard is sent to meet the Officers of the Vessel as they would land on the planet. The Honour guard themselves would consist of Mechs and uniformed elites of the Knight Security Forces. The Officers themselves would be then escorted to the Executive Building of the Colony. Allowing the crew of the Frigate to freely move about the leisure zones of the Colony though are restricted from the Industrial and research districts.

The Corporation rejects the federalist mandate of the USA, proceeding to cast their vote to be in favour of them being expelled from SATO.

A Stain on Democracy

The Federation is openly disgusted and appalled at the formation of the supposed ‘Human Consolidation Federation’. It is both a mockery and a stain on Humanity. The Federation government makes an official statement..

As the leader of the Federation, I represent the citizens and people that make it. I also represent Humanity as we have worked hard to secure our species future and survival. We have Xenos in our citizenship, but they aid the Federation just as well. This apparent ‘Human Federation’ as the United States of Artcurus calls it is a joke in and of itself. They claim to stand so strongly against Slavery. YET they have the gaul to openly trade and interact with the Karass Dominion whom openly enslaves other Races.

The Solar Alliance Treaty Organization is just as capable at enforcing Slavery Laws within the Human Colonies. Instead of operating through proper channels they create an off branch Federation separate from the Alliance. This is a blatant and obvious Power Grab by the United States of Arcturus and the Federation will have none of it, and to add on to the evidence of this accusation we are making, another Mandate of the HCF claims and I quote ‘Member States will exercise any means necessary to ensure the Human Colonies throughout the galaxy do not assist in any of the above slaving crimes’ of which it is referencing ‘No member states shall partake in or take in/harbor anyone in the slaves trade/contract binded forced labour/binding internships. No matter the race.’...

The Federation has always been opposed to Slavery in all its forms, While this may appear to be a ‘Noble’ Cause, I must absolutely point out that they state ALL HUMAN COLONIES. They DARE to subject all Colonies to THEIR laws, How soon will it be that they enforce their own agendas outside of such to the Human Colonies? This is an Authoritarian Action and should not be taken lightly. But instead VERY seriously.

The Terran Federation officially declares it will not Interact, Trade or allow members of the HCF into Federation Space. We greatly encourage all other Colonies to do the same. However the Federation is open to Diplomatic Channels with the HFC for hopes of peace.

The Terran Federation cuts all ties to the Following Nations

United States of Arcturus

The Imperial Republic of Mankind

The Project known as GOLD RUSH is put on hold as more urgent matters have arisen.

Another day another virtual meeting; All the council members sign on and commence the meeting. This time they would bring up Hephaestus Incorporated and their request to discuss the space colonization.

The science department has made an amazing discovery; the very first step towards creating what was previously thought impossible. The technology of the deflector shield would be locked away along with the colonies other tech securely in the colonies Citadel with heavy encryption and locks to deter any prodding fingers with guards watching the entrances. Meanwhile they continue to work hard and diligently at trying to improve the deflector shields strength while relying the use of Xylorite crystals as a power source. Finally the brand new Colony ship; the Helix would be loaded up with plenty of supplies and colonists who are ready for the trip.

Crawling on the floor of his new apartment, Shi Feng cooed and pressed a hand against the glass that separated him from the outside world and a thousand foot drop. But his adoptive mother, Shi Lin, was not worried. The glass was strong, and Yimu was calling.

“I don’t think Feng is going to matter,” said Lin to the image of her husband on the television screen before her.  “Adopted child or not, I’m still infertile. There’s no reason to bar me from work.” A soft smile came over her face at the thought, as she mixed tea leaves into hot water.

Yimu was taken aback at his wife’s cheerfulness over such a sensitive matter, but he supposed she had everything she wanted: a child, a comfortable home, and a job as liaison researcher to the Center for Biological Engineering. The Jinyiwei lieutenant nodded in agreement. “I should be back in Xin Xi’an by tomorrow evening. If anything goes wrong, I might be able to help in any case,” he replied.

“What did you find this time?” asked Lin.

“Junk,” said Yimu, without skipping a beat. “It wasn’t a complete waste though. The address tonight should explain. Which reminds me…” he looked down at his watch. “I should be getting back to base camp. Wouldn’t want to be late.” Yimu stood up and smiled at the camera. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” A moment later, the screen went blank.

Lin leaned back and took a long sip of her tea. Then she got to her feet, and set the pot back on the stove to keep warm. Lin vaguely remembered that when she was a girl and didn’t know to do things properly, she had always used a microwave to make her tea. It had never turned out well: those infernal machines had all been made by the Australians, who couldn’t build a quality product to save their lives.

Finishing her current cup, she scooped up Feng from next to the window. Singing softly, Lin fed her son from a bottle, and waited. And soon enough, the TV sprung to life on its own, as did every screen in every apartment and street in the city. It showed simply the state seal, while in the background the Dominion anthem played:

qBeVB92yfykZe0mNZ8_KRsJnxBk3dtaELhkab0MV3H-wjx65AR3rAoz5b8s3pbwfOIi7pmAozjfU_7IQGdanSfrI2Yu23wraKN8O956VOPPTwqMMUaEau79aiT0xdgtX50lsdpb7

After a minute or two, the image faded away, replaced by a view of somewhere inside the Capitol Palace. Front and center, facing the camera, was the Dao Yi, while his four counterparts stood several paces behind: the Dao Er, Dao San, Dao Si, and Dao Wu. All wore, as always, masks which hid their faces, and obscured their voices.

UKTn1mklbbjCHJtF58LV05DS0-h2X5ElT9nwXjesG_NB0EWkP4dcZHxVZ0HNuBmWua2B_rllo2akZD3BYhIpz0UGAi44X4KoHllsHu0EaO13AutLZWL81dY4nr9NSzP0TChE1AGZ

As the music lowered to the background, the Dao Yi spoke, its voice a low modulated drone.

“Han of the Dominion...we are at war. The enemy may not yet be on our doorstep, but they lurk in the darkness, in the vast expanse of space. For all our work, for all our preparation, they could arrive here tomorrow and wipe us off the map.”

"I speak of Wairen, outsiders who differ from us not only in their barbarian cultures, but in their very biology. On our moon, Shiguo, we have discovered the ruined husk of a facility not built by human hands. Little could be gained from the expedition, but we do know one thing: the technological abilities of these Wairen far exceed our own."

"We could surrender to these outsiders. We could cower in fear, and hope they are peaceful. No doubt some of the inhabitants of Earth would have done just that. But we know better: the path of appeasement is the path of extinction. If we are to guarantee our survival, we must prepare for struggle. We must expand, and not cease to expand until nothing remains to oppose us."

"And so, though our men may not be dying in battle, we are at war. This war cannot stop, will not stop, until the survival of the Han is guaranteed. Just as we did on board the Zheng He, we ask you to live every day in the knowledge that your actions and your blood alone can deliver us to tomorrow. And prepare yourselves. For there is no way to defend ourselves but to conquer."

The Dao Yi raised its voice slightly as it reached a conclusion.

“Our work begins immediately. As always, victory to the Han!” All five of the masked figures raised their fists in salute, and the screen cut back to the state seal.

“Victory to the Han,” replied Lin softly out of habit, and poured herself another cup of tea as she waited for the more specific announcements from lower ranking officers which always followed.

----------

The news of confirmed non-humans in the galaxy rocks Xin Xi’an to its core. Nearly nothing else is on anyone's lips the next day, as the Han go about their business with vigor. If the Dominion is to be in a continuous state of emergency, everyone on the planet wonders what will change.

They don't have to wait long for an answer. Taking advantage of the large body of military experience in the citizenry, the Dominion government announces that every military-aged and able-bodied male will be required to serve in the reserves.((I'm going to set this at 30% of population because it seems like we're using bigger militaries than IRL.)) These men are to spend two months out of every year training, so that if called upon they will have the knowledge and discipline necessary to serve their people. The total number of active soldiers is also more than doubled, to stand guard over the Yuguo. Training camps are established both within the city of Xin Xi'an and without, in the wilderness.

In addition, combat simulations in development over the last few years begin to become available to all citizens for recreational use, and the government promotes them as a primary use of free time. For now the most popular is the physically rigorous Duida, where teams test their tactical reasoning, reflexes, aim and bravery in simulated infantry combat. Another is the more sedentary Quinru, a simulation of military strategy so detailed that it too usually takes a team to effectively play. The Han are hardly forced to partake of these activities, but recreation is otherwise scarce in the Dominion, and the regime does everything it can to glorify such martial pursuits in the minds of its youth.

By this time, fertile women have been largely pushed out of any job that does not involve children: though all are drawn from old China's finest and are generally just as capable as the men, their wombs are far too valuable in the new harsh reality to be wasted. State media continues to promote large families, and the rearing and education of children becomes a community effort among the Han women, ensuring that each child receives a great deal of attention and dedication to his or her development. That said, not all women are needed for this task all the time, and the Jinyiwei turns a blind eye as some women serve "advisory" roles in research, in addition to their professorial duties.

N8jLOUVC54f1bEg_hO3TU-IN3juWSolIvTU-AsRCqyf5-9ySOc5HYdlygBqjkoiFQn2_rIT8wJ9Wz6x19a3vTqepcSGkSMpFX3y4WMKGgHptQAYIFuWfJ1UaWItTVB8twcbtuktB

The heavy rearmament of the Dominion is accompanied by an equally strong push to develop the technology needed for rapid growth. The order is given to immediately begin construction of an orbital space station to serve as a shipyard for a new fleet of starships. Preliminary designs for these starships are already being drawn up, but one thing on everyone's mind is that these ships will need to be able to travel between star systems. To that end, the FTL drive from the colony ship Zheng He is hauled out for inspection.

Unfortunately, the original scientist who designed the drive died soon after the malfunctioned jump fifteen years ago, along with the expertise needed to fully understand and repair it. There are however no small number of physicists living in Xin Xi'an, and the best of them are summoned to ascertain the mechanism of the device, and determine the best way forward. The Dao Si gives them their specifications: if they can see potential for a "jump drive," by which a ship could jump instantaneously through the stars, they are to pursue that. Otherwise, they are to pursue whatever method of travel seems most promising. The only constraint is that the device must be self-contained by the ship, rather than on station which must be constructed first.

With the Center for Biological Engineering established on a distant island, the biologists and engineers begin work on their first project: the genetic perfection of rice. The atmosphere of Yuguo is higher in oxygen and lower in carbon dioxide than that of Earth, and this tends to slow the growth of Earth crops. Altering the metabolism of the crop should allow this difficulty to be overcome, with a decent amount of work. In addition, the researchers are to investigate the possibility of enhancing their rice's nutritional content. If a greater protein content and micronutrients could be produced by the crop, it could serve as an abundant and extremely nutritious staple. Biological experiments take some time, so this will be a slow, steady effort.

Finally, the Jinyiwei begins moving many of its operations to the surface of Shiguo. Permanent facilities are constructed on the moon's surface, mostly surrounding the alien facility. In such close proximity, the Jinyiwei can study whatever secrets they may have missed within it, and so far away from Yuguo they can go about their business in secrecy. The beginnings of a vast biodome begin to take shape at the edges of the crater containing the site.

The Jinyiwei also commandeers many of the Dominion's aircraft for a full survey of Yuguo, searching for any other alien structures that were missed in the original scans. As with all Jinyiwei activities this is kept from the public, but military officers who process the requisition requests are told that if the moon had had activity at one point, the planet may have as well. A secondary objective is to look for deposits of an unusual extremely hard metal brought back from Shiguo.

The Free Human Technocracy

Cheers and more cheers as the first classes started on Viyter.. No more homeschooling and education. Now the education would be lead by professionals. Teaching important skills vital to the Technocracies survival. First education would start off with basic math, science, reading and writing skills. Then it would tailor more into speciality schools; computer sciences, engineering, agricultural, military, and other basic civilian jobs needed to keep infrastructure running.

Ben would stand at the podium in front of the crowd of new students, and the people of Viyter. “Today is a new day! No longer will we neglect the education and the civilians of our sweet nation. Today is a new chapter! One where we will grow our civilization to new heights!” He’d step back, a big smile on his face as the crowd cheered and cheered.. “Today is also a new day as we welcome to the first colonist from The Grand Alliance, as they establish themselves as apart of our great nation! Any mistreatment of them, will be the same result as a hate crime. These are citizens of the Technocracy and citizens.

Those charged with a hate crime will have to deal with her..” he’d point to Commodore Sal’eea, as she would grin and wave to the crowd. Ben would laugh, “You definitely do not want to do that. Now that I have spoken.. Let us open the doors! Students, class is now in session!” He’d smile and step back as he brought his hands together to clap. They had more plans to bring public events together… The next thing up was a public sports arena..

Later that day another public announcement would be made addressing the slander produced by the Terran Federation..

“The Terran Federation, the leader of the SATO alliance… Wants to call us an authoritative alliance and one that undermines the human race?” Ben would laugh and shake his head, “That is the furthest thing from the truth. He wants to state that we are going to use the powers to bully lesser members? Yet we are all equal in power in this Alliance.” he’d adjust his position in his chair, “We as a whole stand up to the injustices of the galaxy by our fellow human companions. This is not a “power grab” by anyone.” He’d clear his throat again.. “We are not subjecting ANYONE to our laws. We simply STATED what we would try and uphold in the galaxy. Whether it be by force or by peaceful democracy. The Terran Federation is making a big deal out of nothing.” He’d open his hand laying it down on the table in front of him. “They wish to cry and cry again. Especially when it comes to them being treated unfairly or when something doesn't go their way. Like a little child. These claims are not only outlandish but foolish ones to make. This ruins any reputation that was standing with the Terran Federation and members of SATO. As of now the only SATO member we will be conducting any sort of business with is Hepheastus Holdings.” He’d clear his throat for one last thing, “We do not take these actions lightly Mr. Uri, I heed you to think before you speak next time. Goodnight and God Bless.” he’d get up out of his chair as the screen cut black.

Aegis
Captin Erebus would Walk into the Main office of the Capital building putting a report on Prime Minster Alistar's desk with a Smile "My report on the Skellar Ship and our communications with them." The Prime Minster would go over the report and Make the announcement to the Colony that They Have found other out here, and we are being brought forward to the galactic community. Later That year the Protorian Council would Bring and Install the First Quantum Communications Device.
A Broadband Broadcast would be sent out.
"To human colonies that can hear us, This is Prime Minister Alistar From Aegis a Newly Branching human colony looking for those willing and able to communicate."
After this The Captain and Prime Minister would wait going over project submitted by the public accepting and working the small ones quickly while mostly vetoing larger projects Until the Thought of more Ships came in or more specifically the shipyard to build which had both Nodding okaying the project and setting things in motion as well as The two and a few

Hephaestus Holdings Incorporated

The ship is constructed as planned and to be delievered.

It may not be much, but a first step is made as they surprisingly quickly manage to figure out a small energy chamber battery that holds a xylorite crystal and utilizes the innard energy by... well, poking it with energy, causing it to react violently and emitting far more than was induced. Issue is, it requires a normal battery to startup this potential battery, but for now, it is a highly powerful energy supply. The cells are getting a bit clunky and heavy though.

Quite a few volunteers from the Republic of Galaron flock to the banner of Hephaestus, in hopes to make a difference so they claim, and perhaps free their homes from the grasps of the Karass.

The trip to the next sector with the closest star system, immediately proves to have a single planet, incredibly massive in size, but of continental size. Gravity appears to be a rough twenty percent higher, given its size. And it immediately shows to have surface (!) deposits of Itoron ore in the northern hemisphere. In fact, so much, that it is visible from miles away, the rocks and chunky landscape originating from potential meteor impacts.

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

It is done. At the end of the year, with a satellite acting as the anchor station and a small vessel with a quantum beacon on it, the connection is established and... under high investments of energy and quite a substantial charging time, the ship instantly jumps into the other system. Half an hour later, it is back home, after doing some smaller flight maneuvers and system checks in the foreign solar system. A little boon at the side is, that with the study of the quantum level, they managed to figure out how to cut communication times and distances to pretty much zero. By just utilizing the same technology, but adapted for radio waves. Huh. Convenient.

United States Of Arcturus

More time, more work. Nothing else to add to a carrier in that size. (3/8 AP.)

On the other hand, the frigate is finished as planned with the remaining capacity and time and joins the fleet.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

The monstrosity is secured and safely stored. No other signs are seen from the old facility on the moon's surface.

With the growth of the plants going well, the shift of the plants is done by the next harvest, as planned.

The designs continue without anything particular to note. They finish the designs and schematics for it, the prototypes are to be the next phase this coming year.

With the growing population, the teachers certainly appreciate the additional facilities to educate the growing up generations of children who are slowly getting into the right age.

Well, that went well. The exploration that is. ;)

The Holy Kingdom of Eadn

Another two frigates join the other three, bringing the fleet to five frigates (fighters aside). Whilst there appears to be no threat, certainly something is planned or considered to come.

Die Volksrepublik

The expansion of the shipyard goes entirely as planned. (2/2 AP. SL 2 now.)

Aside from the human staff, there are actually a few Galaron veterans willing to give thorough training courses in modern warfare. These veterans just recently arrived with one of the refugee ships coming from Karass space, although there are little coming.

With the next capacities, some progress is made, but only some and the ship is far from done. (1/4 AP Colonial freighter.)

Silver Knight Corporation

Surprisingly, with some new-found input from the Galaron refugees, a first prototype is successfully field tested this year. It is only one, mostly unarmed, and still falls under the prequisite that it is unhandy in space when in mech-mode, but quite usable on the ground in such, and otherwise as a fighter for space and air combat. The Galaron who participated in the project note, that they have utilized such a technology at the start of their war against the Karass, but it has been phased out due to inefficiencies and shortcomings in comparison to the common set of weapons and machines they employed otherwise and the enemies employed.

The software system on the other hand gets its first version finished by the end of the year, thanks to the genuine support from the Terran Federation. Interfacing between singular soldiers is a lot easier now and information can be shared quite readily, although it is just that. At least, survivability will be higher. Certainly higher.

The Terran Federation

One of the planned frigates is finished, the other remaining in the shipyard in construction. (2/2 and 1/2 AP.)

Despite the attempts to have refugees arrive at the designated world, no ships make their way there it appears, flocking to other nations and spaceports instead.

Aurora

Whilst the Helix is disassembled into the new hub for the second colony, the additional resources are instead poured into the shield emitter projects.

Despite all efforts, no increase in strength for the deflectors was attained, although energy consumption has been lowered quite a bit.

The energy cell research on the other hand yields no particular results upon attempt to improve current designs. Some things were tested, but in sum, it is assumed that this type of energy storage technology is unbeaten. For other energy sources, there is knowledge about Xylorite being a potentially usable source, but nothing substantial is found about it.

The Han Dominion

With all effort given, the project for a FTL drive leads directly into the old Warp field technologies of mankind before the journey onwards. There is some knowledge, just bringing it into order and expanding upon it is on the agenda this time.

The shipyard however slowly takes shape as the first structural girders are being brought up from the surface. (1/4 AP for SL 1.)

Of several different strands that were tried, three survived, two of them being toxic to animals and living beings. The third one has a remarkably slower rate of growth, but appears to grow for just a quarter of the required water and fertile ground.

Whilst there is this foreign facility on the one moon, no other signs are found of a civilization that has been here. As for the dark metal, the search appears quite fruitless on the second moon.

The Free Human Technocracy

The first prototype is ready.

Aim assistance software appears to be a very complicated task. They try, but the amount of variables, situations and factors really force the programmers to work wonders. Despite all the effort, there is no result to be shown at the end of this year.

Aegis

With all effort the shipyard is finished and ready to house the production of ships. (4/4 AP for SL 1)

Galactic Assembly - Founded 2115 - Dissolved 2123

OOGzdet.png

The Galactic Assembly is dissolved upon withdrawal of the Backhatta Hive and the Redon Imperium. With the additional absense of the Republic of Galaron, this venture to have more peace in the southern galaxy failed.

Events

In a surprise offensive, a combined fleet of Tjierans, Ceri and newly joined Ascardians strikes heavily at the outer sectors of the Protorian Council. The old superpower is reeling from the unsuspected additional invasion and begins to musters ships and forces never seen before by any human visitor.

A last wave of refugees flood the Southern galaxy before ebbing out completely. The Karass Dominion appear to have completed their control over their newly acquired sectors.

The Kalronian Ystor Rule introduces itself to the Galactic Community. By proclaiming everyone else are all unworthy beings. Any attempt to communicate with them appears futile. Their borders are closed and anyone who approaches their space suffers death.

On the other hand, the Ganvius nation introduces itself as well. Whilst they keep their borders closed, they are reachable in terms of communication, although they are not very forthcoming with answers to questions.

The corrupters encroach further upon Tassarean space.

Another set of eerie signals are being received from the East.
