People's Agrarian Republic

Things were looking grim, and yet Utopie shined on. They enjoyed a almost complete degree of peace. Yes some of the populace was discontent. But almost every race was on the same side in Utopie. There was no Redons or Backhatta to incite. Their was a general feeling of sympathy for the Karass rebels. However that was quickly fading. Because of their selfish tact, the corruptors were on the assault again. The Solarins and others had already begun to rally to the fight. Utopie would help in other ways.....

*And so a committee of galactic refugees is formed. With an abundance of food, space, and tech, Utopie will be gracious. Any Tassaran with the means to reach Utopie may settle for free. They are guaranteed a job, if they want one that is. These wealthier citizens will be incorporated into the nation. For those millions of desperate refugees however, action is taken. The P.A.R civilian flotilla is called upon. Them alongside the P.A.R navy will head to the Republic. Avoiding all out war zones, they begin to gather up refugees. As many as possible are transported one each run. The navy remains vigilant, trying to avoid skirmishes. A detachment of the 1st Tassaran Rifles assist the evacuation efforts. Any Tassaran aid is begged to help get civilians out of the soon to be war zone.

**Alongside this refugee effort, troop forces are ramped up. There is already a strong presences on the Tassaran capital. This force will multiply rapidly, as the final defense is prepared. The P.A.R troops will hold firm, entrenching. Leading them is Marshall Klinghoffer. She inspects the post daily, giving out personal orders. Many have not seen a fight, and are eager. She drills this out of them. The dire situation is explained. The troops will make ready in a utilitarian way, training and preparing.

***The final model of the Dual-phased shields is drafted up. The scientist perfect the last boxes in need of a check. They prepare to finish it and quickly outfit ships with the best version. As for force blades, they seek to start producing the basic models. However that is not where the P.A.R will stop. They want to create works of deadly art. They seek to make a blade similar to the Katana capable of holding the force fields. It will be shorter and slightly curved, to aid in close combat.

Asgard Republic

Leader - Chancellor Skadi Nielssen

Population - 207,500 Humans

---------

From humble beginnings, the people who survived the crash of the Valkyrie and sought sanctuary in the ruined city of Valhalla have established a thriving society on their frigid homeworld. People now longer huddle in the ancient city of Valhalla but have spread out into their new world. Engimatic Valhallan architecture is emulated by newer human developments at the underground city's entrance. The equator, once a far-off goal, is now populated. People are spread out, with semi-autonomous communes and homesteaders occupying many of the fertiles valleys, plains and forests, but cleanly planned and purpose built cities funded by the government have been established for those who want the comforts of urban life without the freezing weather of the hemisphere-spanning poles. Even the arctic regions are seeing settlement, with half-buried mining bases being dug into the above-ice mountains to extract materials necessary for modern technological necessities like rare-earth elements. Many of the largest settlements, especially those around the equator are connected by a network of trains and hyperloops for rapid transit through the treacherous climates further away from the equatorial zone, but those that aren't are in easy reach through reliable cold-weather aircraft and hover-vehicles. Asgard is being tamed - now the attention of its people turns skyward.

It was the dawn of the Second Space Age. 23 years ago the colony ship Valkyrie had descended through the storm clouds of Asgard, never to rise again. Now, the hardy pioneers of that ship and their children are preparing to step into the stars once more. With blood, sweat and tears, and more than a little help from the technology of their ancient capital, Valhalla, the people of the Asgard Republic have completed "Asgard Station", a vast orbital complex and a beach-head for the fledgling nation in expanding their influence and economy to the rest of their solar system and beyond.

The government, under Chancellor Skadi Nielssen's administration and those before it, is spearheading the push into space. With little to no private companies willing to help shoulder the burden of expanding Human influence into the wider solar system it falls to the government, and the scientific institutions that influence it, to lead the charge. Some years ago, at great expense, a prototype vessel based on the Valkyrie (poetically named "Phoenix") was launched into orbit after construction on the ground by an engineering team. The idea of the fallen vessel once more ascending to the stars struck a chord with Asgarders, those born on Earth and those not. The groundswell of popular support has enabled Asgard to make great strides in a short period of time, culminating in the construction of Asgard Station so that vessels may be more cheaply constructed and the potential of the solar system more easily transferred planet side for exploitation. The people of Asgard are ready to make their next steps into the future.

ACTIONS - AP Pool: 4

1AP - Construction begins in Asgard Station's shipyard section on the Asgard Republic's first orbit-constructed space vessel, a CORVETTE.

2AP - Survey Probes are dispatched en-masse across the Asgard System, dispatched toward the 5 other planets of the system and its various moons, asteroid belts and comets. They search for interesting anomalies and useful resources that have not been spotted by previous surveys in the last 23 years. This includes a detailed, penetrating sensor survey of Asgard's hemisphere-spanning ice-sheets - making use of Asgard Station's sensor array.

1AP - Research focuses on improving the Republic's spaceflight technology, taking advantage of the Firstborn tech they have encountered. The scientists may be generations from replicating the (admittedly fragmentary) technology of Valhalla, but they can at least use it to inspire new avenues of enquiry.

0AP - A formal greeting and request for contact is sent toward Alpha Centauri, the original destination of the colony fleet that left Earth, via quantum comms. The hope is that, relayed through Asgard Station's powerful sensor array and a probe launched on rudimentary sub-light rockets toward the system-edge decades ago, the message will reach the rest of Humanity. Previous attempts at locating their sister-ships over the years has failed.

Jonathan Kenwick stared out the five inch thick glass windows onto the fields below. If you didn’t look too far, it was possible to imagine he was back at Porton Down, staring across the open fields beyonds its heavily fortified perimeter. Then, he lifted his gaze and the illusion shattered. Beyond the biodome lay a wilderness as wild as it was cruel. Twisted and bulbous plants as tall as trees leaned in towards the biodome, in constant war against the flamethrowers and machines used to cut them down. Their flowery heads seemed to stare straight back at him as he paced back and forth in his office.

His tower was one of the few buildings above ground in New Porton. They had no room to expand, and all the ground was used for agriculture. The common people had to build vertically, and delve deep into the earth.

“We lost five men to the jungle.”

5Z94wM9.jpg

To the jungle. It wasn’t even to the Hunter-Killers, that seemed to appear out of thin air and could move faster than the human eye could track. They’d lost a dozen men in their first expedition to those. Some of them had been SAS before their departure, and they’d fallen like children. Or the Ares plant, that would lash out with thick vines and yank a man into its trunk, where he would be crushed to death, slowly, until his body exploded like a ripe fruit. No, it was to the jungle. As if it were one, united entity as cruel as all the others combined.

“Send condolences to the families. Review the footage of their deaths. We learn from our mistakes,” he said to his secretary. The young lady nodded and left the room. Ever since their arrival on Victoria, survival had been a struggle, a struggle none of them had been familiar with. What could man even do, when a single breath of air could infest a man's lungs with hives of arachnides that would eat you alive?

Learn, adapt, fight back. So they would. What choice did they have? Fate had brought them to this death world and Kenwick had seen what the creatures that lurked beyond their borders could do. It kept him up at night, rolling around in his bed until he had to jump up and return to the labs. Nightmares didn’t plague him, they hadn’t when they experimented with anthrax on prisoners in Porton Down, and they didn’t now. What kept him up were the limitless possibilities that awaited those determined enough to break the secrets of Victoria.

*The Portons are fully aware of how vulnerable they are, not only to attack and disease from their own world, but to attack from outside their own solar system. With the Great Imperium near their borders, war devastating the South and great forces to the North, they worry for their safety. Thus, the colony of New Porton begins to work on its defences, and concealment. They plan to become as impervious as possible to threats from the surrounding jungle while hiding their location from unfriendly eyes in space. Walls are built along the borders of the Biodome, with intermittent flamethrowers and automatic turrets to discourage the beasts that lurk on their borders. Electrified fences are rigged above that, the biodome itself is reinforced. To conceal themselves from unfriendly eyes above, they build vertically, digging deep into the earth and leaving above ground to agriculture. Research goes into attempting to conceal the location of the biodome with the use of stealth and cloaking technology. (2AP) The space station is located near Thor.

*The Porton’s are scientists first. Because of this, research begins immediately on their surrounding world. Samples of dead beasts, the air and plants are taken in for study, in an attempt to find interesting mutations, diseases or biological wonders. EDIT: The scientists take particular interest in the airborn disease they have called the Worm Breath as well as the beast they have aptly named the Hunter Killer.(1AP)

*To survive in their harsh new homeworld, many scouting operations are sent throughout the system and Victoria, in search of rich mineral deposits, or other useful finds. (1AP)

*Trade envoys are sent out throughout the Galaxies 'Northern' reaches. The Portons are in desperate need of a constant flow of basic resources and offer exotic materials, beasts and fauna from Victoria in exchange, as well as other basic resources that others might require. These offers go out to:

-Zaxx Empire

-Ka'cezh Star Empire

-Zyrka Engineering

-Holy Adaptaar Commonality

-Council of Nak'nak'thax

-T'jell Galactic Bureaucracy

If accepted, their trade ships would always dock at the space station, as the Portons attempt to keep the exact location of the biodome a secret for the protection of their people. (1ap) EDIT: They send actual envoys instead of using Quantum Comms, so as not to insult the different groups.

With

Additionally, as time goes by and technology advances, the people of the Porton Technocracy prepare to make use of their second Colony Ship. They look for nearby adequate systems.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

40k_imperial_aquila__transparent__by_fug

Location: Novam Domum, Imperial palace, Imperial office

The light was on in the imperial office even as it was almost completely dark outside except for few spots of lights indicating other places where people were still awake. Here Alexander Varellion emperor of the IRM thought about the current situation at hand. The southern galactic war was the biggest war the humans had ever seen, it was almost beyond what people could have imagined back on earth. Corrupters and Keerim in the east, the Karrass civil war in the west and the Kalronians in the south all potentially dangerous for the IRM. Of those Alexander worried mainly about the Kalronians.

They had a reputation of being fanatic purgers and were known for not being the most tolerant of beings.

And the IRM had a former asset of theirs above their very heads as Alexander looked into the sky where the moon was. It could prove a huge potential boon in the future yet for now it also proved a great liability and possible target for the Kalronians. Even if the Kalronians wouldn't attack there were still the Han to worry about who would attack them if they ever showed that they were weak. Yes many threats and possible threats were there for the IRM. Some might call Alexander paranoid but paranoia had made him become one of the largest corporations on earth and managing to get him to have a colony ship to Mars originally. Paranoia whilst unfound could either prove a slight disadvantage or a great boon, mostly the latter when you were leading a nation, especially one with the circumstances the current colonies were in. Luckily he had gotten what he possibly needed and now the time was there to prepare. Soon the Kalronians would attack, it was almost inevitable in Alexander's mind, they would come to get the facility to produce more replicants in the war against the Ganvius where very extra boon could be just what tipped the balance.

That war would be huge, these two colossi had been preparing for this war for decades and in this situation all human colonies were just ants, though possibly really helpful or annoying ants. Soon the day of reckoning would come for the IRM in one way or another. Soon it would be seen who lives and survives and all this was on his shoulders, every death would be his fault as well as every survivor, it was a hard burden knowing a whole nation depended on you, though not a populous nation it was still a nation with more than 300.000 brave souls living in it. Yes it was time to prepare to make sure that the IRM would survive the storm to come, he felt that he was being judged by the gods or some other great beings, this would either be his greatest achievement or his greatest achievement.

War was coming

Twelve-year-old Shi Feng smirked as he strutted down a dirt road, his arms around two of the more rebellious girls from school. It was nearly midnight: well past his curfew, of course, but both his parents were too busy to notice most of the time: his father could sometimes be away for weeks, and his mother was so caught up in her work that she usually didn’t question his excuses about staying over at friends’ lodgings.

The lights of Xin Xi’an were a distant glow: the three had hitched a ride on a passing freight train, getting off the high speed vehicle quietly at one of the closer stops. Now all that surrounded them was rice fields. Almost all, anyway.

“Where are we going, Feng?” asked the girl on his right, a long-haired beauty for her age named Xiulan.

“I told you, it’s a surprise,” he replied, laughing.

“Come on...just a clue?” said the slightly less attractive girl to his left. Feng couldn’t remember her name, and merely continued to smirk.

Ahead, a significant group of people came into view, and their lights and music gave the gathering away as a lively one. Feng led his companions into a crowd of people twice their ages, all hurrying around or cheering at something unseen ahead. Several pointed out the young visitors with amusement; most ignored them as they pushed through to the other side. The girls clutched at his arms, but Feng kept his cool, merely winking to the older attendees as he stepped out of the dense crowd to the main event.

The flat field in front of the three was full of cars, most of them brightly painted, all being swarmed over by mechanics and admirers. The crowd’s attention, though, was on the paved road which now separated them from that field. It stretched into the distance, well worn and completely straight, and utterly empty.

At least that’s how it seemed at first. But almost without warning, the track exploded into light and sound, as about a dozen of what looked more like blurs than vehicles blew past. The crowd cheered. The girls screamed. Feng’s eyes widened, and he tried to stop his jaw from dropping. Almost before he had even realized they were there, the racers were out of sight, blasting down the road into the darkness.

“Fusion thrusters!” explained one of the nearby viewers, and Feng couldn’t help but grin wickedly. Such things were meant for spacecraft. To apply them to ground vehicles was either suicide or brilliance, but either way the idea gave him immense pleasure.

The crowd’s excitement was momentarily cut short by the blinding light of an explosion far away, briefly illuminating the racers as they drifted for what must have been half a mile, at least. Apparently one car hadn’t cut its thrusters soon enough for the turn. But as word came in over the radio that they had passed another checkpoint, with significant changes in the placing, excitement began to build again.

As the girls giggled and cheered, Feng cast his eyes across the road, to the assembled parked cars and their drivers. Each and every one was the center of attention. Each got to drive the fastest vehicles on the planet, to the eager cheers of hundreds of admirers. And each was surrounded by women.

Feng had to get over there.

----------

In Huizhou, two major triads have risen to exert influence over the city: the Wo Hop To, and the Luen. By this time, smaller groups mostly pay tribute to the two largest, and a sort of order falls over the city. While petty crime is still common and unavoidable, it takes place mostly as part of a structured organization that exists in the face of the local government and military alike. The local troops make several attempts to restore the rule of law in the densest parts of the hive, but there are simply too many back alleys, too many twists in the three dimensional maze of the city to be effectively policed. Eventually, the local government all but gives up on enforcing regulations on the area, much to the chagrin of the Jinyiwei, who are still prevented from setting up meaningful operations in the trade hub.

And yet the triads grow bolder and bolder. Their operations begin to seep into the districts surrounding Huizhou’s docks, and soon a sizeable drug-running scheme is underway. At the same time, their thugs prowl the streets like wolves, and the murder rate among Wairen visitors spikes dramatically.

The small community of Wairen expatriots begins to grow unsettled, and soon tensions begin to mount in some of the districts bordering the dense city. The Silver Knight Company receives information that the Wo Hop To is planning to incite a riot there in the coming months, as a diversion so as to raid one of the Free Human Technocracy’s itoron warehouses in the city. The information, however, comes from the Luen. Its accuracy cannot be entirely verified.

The drums of war, the drums of a march, the drums of preparation, the drums of a final battle. The Tassaran forces have gathered their remaining strength, as much as the Corrupters seem to have gathered the majority of their ships for this battle that could decide the success or failure of their continous crusade of turning everything into them. Much is at stake and many wheels are turning.

United Canadian Front

The retrofitting of the ships goes as planned. The effect they had in the battles that took place was certainly of value.

An outstanding victory. Whilst the UCF's participation might have been small, the Ganvius were able to position these extra forces elsewhere, guaruanteeing a successful offensive.

The shipyard expansion finishes by the beat of the new year, ready to produce bigger warships for the battles to come. With the Kalronians as declared enemies of mankind, certainly not a wrong decision.

The Thulean Republic

Perhaps it is sheer luck, but they do happen to find a terran planet, that is habitable, with mostly wild flora covering it. The planet itself is massive, having seven times the surface area of Earth, but sports a relatively comfortable gravity of 1.1 G. The density of the planet appears rather low, all things considered, tectonics are less active than they were on Earth. But it is a suitable candidate for colonization. Also, during the thorough examination of it, they do realize that the planet as well, has vast deposits of Trizendrium.

With the additional resources, it is expected that new factories and assembly halls will sprout in due time.

It turns out, Trizendrium is very well usable in the small amounts for single-use handheld burning charges, or perhaps as a fuel for cutting tools (that use the burning Trizendrium to cut something). The scientists have figured out how to make liquid and stable Trizendrium cells, that can be potentially utilized in such utilities. Otherwise, a drop of Trizendrium can surely start a fire in your chimney or give you a nice campfire.

The Solarin Federation

25,000 volunteers, of all races, Grgl, Tassaran, Humans, and so forth, assemble in order to join the upcoming and perhaps decisive battle for Tassarea.

All ships are constructed as planned, along with the new Quantum anchor beacons in their engineering sections. The Quantum anchor itself takes its place in orbit as a small station, ready to push and pull the ships about as needed.

With a rough 5,000 disruptor rifles being distributed amongst the soldiers, as well as an equal number of Power Armor being suited to those men, this should bolster them a bit. Hopefully it's enough.

The Tassaran Republic begins to gather up all remaining strength to counter what appears to be one powerful assault on their homeworld by the Corrupters. That is where all soldiers will go, all 70,000 of them.

United Colonial Initiative

The result is known. The operation a success, a victory for the Ganvius Offensive.

A small influx of about 2,500 volunteers, ages ranging from late 40s to 50s to as early as 18 come in.

An operational gravitiational emitter prototype is being tested to great success, able to pull objects and repel them to a certain distance. Of course, in relativity to its size and power supply it will be able to push and pull respectively sized and heavy or light objects. Or even hold them in place.

Fully automatic Gauss Rifles are a heavy task, but the scientists do pickup old Earth research and begin to work on a functional semi-automatic long-range prototype.

The communication attempts do reach some of the nations to the North, although they are currently less able to conduct any real trade or make deals, but they do acknowledge the hails and hope for good cooperation in the future. These nations include the Trialition members, the Protorian Council and the Grand Alliance. Knowledge of the remaining galaxy will seep through.

United States Of Arcturus

The support carrier finishes as planned, joining the growing fleet in orbit. By now though, many of the ships are from their overlords, the Keerim themselves, as they continously appear using the colony as a gathering point for future strikes and engagements.

Fortifications continue to prop up around the colonies, bunker systems, tunnel networks, stockpiles of supplies, firing positions for heavy railguns... the list is endless, but they are far from having reached the top.

Given how it is impossible to reach the PAR properly with so much hostilities taking place, this effort and resources go wasted.

The probe itself vanishes to the same reasons as the big vessel before it.

Hephaestus Enterprises

LEMONADE.

With the insightful input of a distant colleague of the Protorian Council, they manage to find a solution that could work at... inhibiting the process at least. Stasis cells. The Protorian science administration has distributed a dozen old Firstborn stasis cells that are literally capable of halting cellular activity for a specified amount of time. And, as the results show, they appear to affect Corrupter cells just in the same way. Whilst being incredibly high in energy maintenance, they should provide some early cases a chance of being suspended until a true cure is found.

And they do find a way. A Backhatta scientist, despite his grudges for his Redon colleagues, does indeed develop a more efficient energy transfer system that should lower the consumption of the weapon by about a quarter.

In the meantime, the Confederation of Xaplonius massively assumes the production of the droids, with hundreds of thousands, almost millions of them pouring out of the still mostly untouched industrial facilities of the Grgl. That should buy them time.

Thanks to swift action and even some calming input by Rond Trazur himself, the situation remains under control and little but a few drunken brawls are to happen on the colonies.

And their search will be of interest. ((Encounter, Skype for details))

THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN

All ships and fighters are completed as requested.

With railguns already dominating most weaponry for mankind, the improvement of them is of essence. True massdrivers, delivering heavy blows with heavy shells at incredibly high velocity are surely a reachable goal, but it will take a bit. The scientists state they know where they need to go and what to work on.

The Rebels are primarily organized under a kind of Galaron government. Not strictly organized, but they do band together to bring back their Republic and drive out the occupying Karass troops, thus far with great success.

Silver Knight Corporation

The project's result are known.

The decision lies with you, how the fleet shall be utilized. The Tassaran forces are gathering at Tassarea for the final battle.

All ships are constructed as planned.

The Redon Imperium is grateful for the offer, but currently does not see the economic assistance as needed, given their strong infrastructure and economy itself. Perhaps at a later time.

Downsizing the normal ship reactors proves to be a bit of a task, as it leads to a series of surprising delays. More time and more effort is needed to solve the power issue and finish the small reactor.

People's Agrarian Republic

Whilst the support of the USA never arrives, the project wraps up as planned and the dual-phased shields are an available standard for the PAR ships.

They manage to develope a reliable first version, that is only applicable to combat knifes, but offers a good foundation for future projects. So far, these mini-Xylorite-cell powered combat knifes should help out to some degree.

Secret projects are normally secret.

Asgard Republic

And so it flies, the small vessel, with a small crew of 50 men on board. A first ship of war, for more to come in certainty.

And indeed, they do find a strange black metal, dense and unusually hard. Located on several of the stellar objects in the system it is abundant enough to be properly mined and utilized, given if they figure out how.

As it is old, it speaks in riddles. Despite all efforts to find a point to start, nothing offers itself, old defunct systems, destroyed archives and empty storages being most that still remains of this once vast city.

In all surprise they receive an answer. In English. ((Encounter))

Porton Technocracy

Stealth technology remains a thing of dreams, but they do work on various methods of making it less detectable. So far, there are many ideas and drafts, but no real results yet. It's in work. The foundations of the space station are being worked on for the while being, external contributors, such as the Zyrka offering investments to have it as a staging point to connect North and South, given the Karass are not very... open as a gateway nation.

Most of the effort and time are being spent on gathering a good assortment of viable samples, which they do with some success, though they lose a couple of men in the process.

Alas, despite all efforts, they are unable to find anything remarkable though.

And six yes and signed treaties are on table at the end of the year, with new goods and resources flowing in and exotic and toxic objects leaving.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

Wide networks of bunkers and tunnels, hidden fortifications and retractable turrets, deep storages for supplies... there is so much being built, but so much more to build still.

On the other hand, the new colony comes along nicely, though mining facilities are needed later down the road to obtain the Xylorite.

Might be a mixup or just the assumption that the Imperial Republic of Mankind is a partner of the UCI and UCF, but the Ganvius nation sends technology for dual-phased shields to the RoM.

The Free Human Technocracy

The ship is finished as planned.

((For the AP to the Eadni shipyard, Skype please for a later map update))

The Han Dominion

Both ships are finished as planned.

The expansion of the shipyard has only just begun. (1/10 AP to SL4).

Order of Malta

All corvettes are finished according to the schedule that was given, whilst the refitting of the Dreadnought's armor plating is rapidly being followed upon.

Events

As Chaal leaves for the Protorian homeworld, the leaves the people of Han something behind..

The grinding of the war machines has only just begun as Redon and Backhatta forces fight several stalemates, Protorians and Redons fighting several stalemates. The Rebels begin to gain momentum though, caputring another two sectors from the Loyalists.

The East shows heavy engagements between Keerim and Trialition forces, with no clear winner to be seen yet. Again, are the Keerim toying?

The Tassaran Republic gathers strength for the final battle for Tassarea.

“The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday”

The rain of the jungle world poured down, though the canopy blocked most of the direct fall, water trickled through the leaves on the grass below. Only it wasn't all grass and brush.

b7e2d9801f84a23b7b60685701ee6bb5.jpg

The three snipers stalked through the trees and jungle, the sun glistening a few rays to the jungle floor, reaching the edge of the cliff they went to prone and crawled into their vantage point, indistinguishable from the brush around them. The three men watched the army below before the middle one keyed his headset quietly talking into it. “Sunray 1-1, this is spectre actual, message over.” The three snipers took the time to set up the bipods on their rifles as they ensured each one was loaded with osmium tipped bullets, a crackly voice followed, “Sunray 1-1, send traffic spectre we read 5 by 5, over” The snipers waited as the apparent leader keyed his mic once more “Spectre Actual. Be advised, we have eyes and the drop on fifty plus, enemy foot mobiles, they seem to be crowding around a two wheeled object, over.” A pause was heard, evident via the static before the voice responded, “Sunray 1-1, copy your last fifty plus enemy foot mobiles, the ROE remains the same, engage at your will. Over.” The lead sniper patted the backs of his fireteam before responding “Spectre actual, copy that, engaging enemy forces, Spectre Actual, out.”

The three snipers slowly spread out leaving a three metre gap between each other on the cliffside as they toggled the safeties off their rifles “Distance to target, 2000 plus metres, accounting for the wind and coriolis effect, travel time 1.35 seconds.” The sniper with the range finder sat it aside as he picked up his own rifle. “Let's make this quick, they are spreading out, target the ones away from the main group, let's pick them off.” The fireteam leader said quietly as he took up aim on a lone target. “Fire at will” And with that, he along with his partners each fired their shots, the bullet arc was almost visible if you looked closely enough, cutting through the mist. The bullets hit their mark as the three targets fell, the enemy never even saw them drop, the silenced rifles barely making any noise. “Keep it up, forty seven to go.” And with that the snipers began cleanly picking off targets, at around the 36 kill mark one of the targets noticed one of his comrades drop, the rest scattered from the two wheeled vehicle. It took a little longer but in ten minutes all the targets were gone, the clearing lay covered with bodies, satisfied the three snipers collected their brass and readjusted the brush so that if anyone came looking, they were never there. “Much easier than last time, and a surprise attack once more.” They then slowly stalked back into the thick jungle, silent as they had come.

United Canadian Front

e93dba17eba6df91fcb10c9ed7573a46.png

Activity:

Cheers of victory are heard across the planets as the victory over Kalronian’s is announced to the public. With a mere single ship disabled along with ‘minimal’ casualties, the U.C.F. along with the UCI and Ganvius had successfully destroyed several Kalronian ships and invaded a supply station.

The demonstrated power of their military was shown across the colonies, showing a Dundas frigate detonating a Kalronian cruiser from behind in a mere single hit. Acts of courage on the front are shown as marines storm the supply base, courageously taking on the vastly superior foes in close quarters.

Several men in the marines are awarded, and are as such paraded through the colonies of the U.C.F., urging many others to join their ranks.

Spoiler

e7a75066a2202d601737ea5070e689cc.jpg

The true numbers for the U.C.F. are grim, out of the 1000 marines sent onto the station, more than a third of them had died in combat. Total losses of the engagement were numbered to be around 400 total for the U.C.F., including both navy crewmen during space combat and marines on their raid into the supply station. This propaganda brings a large influx to the marines recruiting bank, and even a few men wanting to change branches.

Generals and Admirals alike fear for their upcoming battles, and begin issuing out their newest combat armor designed by the winner of their public competition, Aegis Technologies. The itoron-aluminum alloy armor is set to out perform any body armor made before, also being equipped with magnetic boots, the LAS VI Program, and oxygen tanks. The armor is first issued to the deployed marines, as they will be fighting the most in space and require the highest chance of survivability.

AP Activity (16 Total):

Scientists are giddy at the marines findings on the Kalronian encounter, and begin work on the highly advanced armor at once. They piece the suits together before completely breaking them down, reverse engineering them into possible ways that they  could use on their own kind. Along with the assistance of foreign scientists (Tyras), research is heading much faster than anticipated. (10 AP (8 From Tyras))

With the combat trials completed for their gauss weaponry, they found that the standard solid-shot shells were barely making impacts on the alien ships, and began to search for alternatives. Testing was done on their own shields, attempting to find any sort of weakness against them such as xylorite-fused shells or even shells with electric pulses flowing through them. (2 AP)

Mass production of the new ‘Tribal’ T-43 body armor suits were made within the factories of Carspan II due to their proximity to itoron. These weapons were shipped out to exclusively the marines. (2 AP)

The newly acquired technology of refining and weaponizing xylorite was soon traded for by the Solarin’s and eventually was put to use. Refining factories began to spring up across Jardun III, using the nearby xylorite mines on it’s moon to supply the refineries with their needed resource. (1 AP)

As the war in the south raged on, the U.C.F. was willing to assist the Ganvius yet again, this time sending a much larger force of one destroyer, three frigates, both of their corvettes, and a fully rearmed detatchment of 900 marines, now equipped with both the T-43 armor, and their gauss weaponry, and 50 members of salvage crews fitted with their salvaging equipment to bring back vessels. Desginated as Strike Group Brooklyn. they met with any UCI vessels headed to the Ganvius before jumping to the Ganvius systems to assist with any offenses or defenses in the area. (0 AP)

The Porton Technocracy => The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon

(G.T.F.O)

The three head scientists and the head engineer all stood in front of a group of seven men and woman. The scientists had kept to their long white lab-coats, each with a small, golden pin on their lapel denoting the branch which they controlled. Chemical, Biological and Physics. Marcus Taylor looked down at them from the raised table, his hands clasped under his chin. They were the brightest minds of the Technocracy, and they had done much to help stabilize the fledgeling nation when it became apparent that the had been tossed across the galactic ocean and away from their brothers and sisters. Yet they were no governors, they were not leaders. They cared about science, and while the betrayal left a bitter taste in the back of his mouth, he had betrayed many others before in the name of profit.

“So, as you see, ladies and gentlemen, I and my companions believe it is better for you to remain on Victoria when the colony ship departs. To further your studies in the Biodome.” His wife, Julia, sat beside him. She had her platinum hair in a knot above her head, her slim features thrown into evidence by the stark lighting above them. She smiled down at the scientists. “You will be properly compensated, and we are not forcing you to stay, of course.”

The head scientist, and the one who had spearheaded the movement to take control of the colony ship stepped forward and clasped his hands behind his back. Kenwick, wasn’t it? Marcus had never much liked him, his eyes were too empty. There was nothing to read behind those small, pale eyes, as if a ghost had settled within the man and sucked out all of his humanity. “We will be properly funded, allowed to research as we please and not gated by,” his lip curled “Moral ideologies?”

“As long as you work within the nation's interests, that is correct,” replied Marcus.

Kenwick nodded once. “Very well, you have control.”

“That’s...it?” said Marcus, raising an eyebrow. He had expected some measure of objection from the group, but none of them seemed to go against Kenwick. Indeed, the head engineer was even smiling!

Kenwick shrugged as he stepped back into line. “We are scientists, not leaders. We did what we did because the situation obligated us to. But what we want to do is research, without being blocked by the bureaucrats. If you guarantee us this, we will not oppose you.”

Marcus glanced between the six other people on the board before nodding slowly. “Very well then. Have your secretaries forward all relevant information to us and our people and we’ll take it from here. I suppose you are free to resume your research.”

----------------

The Porton Technocracy undergoes a political upheaval as the leading scientists give the power to a board of business men and women. From now on, they will lead the nation. The transition should be smooth however, as it was done through a cooperative agreement between the political factions and there was no resistance to the change, especially after the new arrivals announced their intent to move the majority of the population to a more hospitable planet. Henceforth, it has been renamed into the Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon.

-----------------

i3kEfXa.jpg

Godspeed to you all,” mutters a lonely guard in the biodome of New Porton as the Colonial freighter punches a hole through the thick atmosphere and roars up into the sky, towards new horizons. With it go 160.000 humans, loaded into the freighter, the two frigates and the destroyer. It’s a tight fit, but it works. They leave behind 25.000 people in the biodome, mostly guards, maintenance workers, scientists and all their families. The colonial freighter is set on course for the system they have labelled as Orimon, and the planet of London Prime. It is a cold, snowy planet, but the atmosphere is breathable and the temperatures survivable as long as the humans keep stay inside, or in insulated suits for the most part. Most importantly though, the planet is very flat and very stable, with no overpowering storms or destructive tectonic activity. The GTFO needed a planet that would suit explosive expansion and large landing zones. Comfort would be the wingman for now. It is to the east of their current territory.

--------------

TO ALL NATIONS (NPC/PLAYER)

The C.G.M.T.N.T

((Czar has stated that even with full trade partners, you can be part of the GTC. You just don’t get more TP’s in terms of AP mechanics.))

The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon and its leaders know its key location in the galaxy. They are also savvy businessmen and woman, experienced in trade, stocks, import & export and all other matters relating to the economy. Because of this, they draw up a project and send off envoys through the galaxy, to speak to the dozens of nations that they know of. Of course, nations renowned for their genocidal tendencies or cruel behavior are only sent communications, be they quantum in the north, or more traditional on the southern part of the galaxy. Each one comes with a treaty, attached, offering the nation to either strike their name from the list or agree to send an envoy to the Orimon system in a set period of time to sign the treaty upon the planet of London Prime. Most envoys come with gifts that they deem to be appropriate to the nation's culture. Those envoys sent to the six northern nations that the GTFO now has a trading agreement are the same as before, as they are familiar faces.

IN THE NORTH

MAdYKF6.jpg

In the north, the envoys approach every nation, sending first a message through quantum communications, asking an audience for their envoy. When they arrive, if they are allowed to approach the nation's capital planet, they offer the treaty to each nation. Their main line of argumentation revolves around the fact that trade has shattered in the southern regions. War is tearing them up and to send freighters into such chaos is as good as throwing assets into the sun. They argue that piracy, all around violence and theft will make such trips barely profitable enough to cover expenses. Their second line of debate is that with the Corrupter Dominion occupying the eastern sections of the galaxy, trade through those regions becomes extremely risky. Instead, they offer the Galactic Trade Center as a nexus of trade, neutral and free of risk for northern freighters, as they need only reach said location before once more returning to their homeworlds, leaving the southern warmongering nations to come North themselves if they wish for purchase the materials the North provides. The GTFO lavishes particular attention on the Ar’gakari and the Ka’cezh, as the Ar’gakari border them, and the Ka’cezh are a huge empire above them, and a potentially fruitful trade ally. To their investors, such as Zyrka, they give thanks, and request additional help ((basically extra AP tbh or some way of accelerating the building process)) in the creation of the first iteration of a space station that will handle the flow of trade. In return for a hefty amount of help, they offer 10 years of low tax rates for Zyrka freighters going through the GTC.

IN THE SOUTH

88Obgy3.jpg

In the south, the GTFO is less friendly and more professional. If anything, they act more distant to their fellow human nations than the northern alien ones. Here, they use a different angle to convince both aliens and humans to join. They speak of the great chaos that war brings, and how much of a tragedy it is to see madness take over the galaxy. They lament the loss of trade and trading ships and offer the nations the benefits of the GTC, a place where an abundance of trade from all over the northern hemisphere will flow as a resort for their failing trade routes. Even though the Kalronians are dangerous and only receives a message and no envoy, it comes with gifts of rare beasts from the Death World victoria and many wondrous plants. They are lavished with particular attention and much respect, as a refusal from their nation to sign would mean that many others would struggle to reach the GTC. (However, the exact location of the GTC is kept from them for the moment, considering their cultural tendencies.) A similar treatment is offered to the Karass Dominion for much the same reason. The Karass Rebels on the other hand, are approached with a separate treaty as they are not an internationally recognized sovereign nation. But they are approached nonetheless.

Hephaestus Enterprises is also invited and treated as humans of a similar mind and potentially valuable trade partners, they and the Silver Knight Company are approached in particular for this reason. As is the O.X.E.E council.

The Han Dominion is approached and treated with respect, mostly for the fact that they already have vassals, and are a two in one package for the GTC. The GTFO asks them to consider the offer, as it would give them access to hundreds of thousands of tons of trade goods from the North.

The Corrupter Dominion is sent a very succinct message, stating that they are welcome to join the GTC should they cease their hostilities with the entire galaxy.

The colonization of the Orimon system begins. The colonial freighter would land near the equator, in one of the largest, most temperate and flat areas of the planet. The construction of basic landing platforms, basic defences and solid infrastructure begins immediately. (3AP)

331210.jpg

The space station that had begun basic construction near Victoria is disassembled and brought along with the colonial effort. It begins construction immediately in a middle ground between the moon and the planet, as a means of preventing attack from long range bombardment. The station is given basic defences for now, and is specifically engineered with trade traffic in mind. Great docking stations, unloading areas and storage facilities are built so that ships may move at an efficient pace and cargo can be brought planetside where it is put into hangars, bought, sold, traded and stored. (3AP) The station seems to be built in a modular fashion, as if the GTC expects it to be expanded and built upon in time.

BBENEXi.jpg

The scientists understand that for now, some funding must wait as the entire nation is going through a time of movement. Their stealth research is on the backburner for now, and not their primary focus. (0AP)

Research does begin on genetics, specifically, genetic splicing between thing such as humans and Hunter Killer specimens, alien races, etc. The goal is to learn as much as possible about genes and how to combine different genomes into something even better. (2AP) ((constant investment. Not one particular project, just a general improvement and specialization in that domain of science.))

In an effort to convince as many nations as possible to join the GTC, many resources are poured into the diplomatic missions. The best envoys, the best gifts, etc. (1AP)

Imperial Republic of Mankind

40k_imperial_aquila__transparent__by_fug

Location: Novam Domum, tunnel network

Steps could be heard through the tunnel as a small group walked through it, the sounds of heavy machinery as well as normal footsteps were the most common of these. In this group the emperor himself Alexander Varellion as well as several building inspectors. They were looking for any structural weaknesses as well as the progress already made. The tunnels seemed almost endless though Alexander knew they were limited to the cities of Novam Domum. He then came to a crossroads where he then took the the turn to the left towards the gun emplacement which even then took a long 10 minutes to reach. As he walked through it he could see storage rooms to see enough supplies to hold out for possibly years here underground in case of a siege as well as mountains of ammunition all that was needed to keep the planet under control. He also climbed into one of the bunkers with an outside view that had a vantage points into the city where could be fired from in case the enemy entered the city. Here he could already see an automated machine gun which could be used to mow the enemy down or at least give a high rate of fire against any possible high-tech enemies with shielding. Yes these defenses were strong but he could also see that it was not finished yet. Many sections still needed to be build until everything was ready and everyone was safe. This he remarked upon as he also touched the reinforced walls with solid strength behind them able to at lest resist a single railgun bullet coming here if it managed to find the position of the tunnels at least. Then he eventually reached the large surface-space weapons that were ready to be used against any who dared to violate Imperial space and spew fire and smoke upon them, well not really since it used mass accelerators and other such things but you get the point.

1cbbd27126b1b505e01a84123c25ce7c.jpg

These guns would defend the IRM against any threats that were to come as well as any that they had now. He then turned to one of the building inspectors "How structurally sound would you say these tunnels systems and bunkers are ?" the  emperor inquired before the inspector nervously scrambled a response "The defense system whilst formidable is not truly finished yet and cannot be used to it's maximum effectiveness, we will still need an abundance of manpower and resources to further expand it." The emperor then contemplated the situation for a moment "That is unfortunate but that is what we have expected, as you suggested inspector this will still need to have a lot of effort put into it otherwise it might not prove sufficient for what is to come in the future, we need the resolve of the people to help pull this off and make sure that they will not have to fear for their lives when explosions sound. Though they should feel a healthy amount of fear otherwise they would not be thinking well."  He then made an 180 degree turn and went back to the Imperial palace for further discussion of the defenses.

Location: Novam Domum, war room somewhere on the planet

scifi_warroom_by_jeffyeomans-d797krd.png

The emperor stood in the war-room together with commander Dante and admiral Avery Winter looking to the large simulation in the middle of the room showing Novam Domum, it's cities and strategic resources as well as the rest of the solar system surrounding it, with the second largest forcus being on the moon where the second set of fortifications were. Here they contemplated the statistics and simulations that were goon on as they thought of what they should do once the enemy arrived, they stood together in silence until the admiral spoke up "Gentlemen, we have a problem here, whilst the fortifications do give us good defences and will make us be able to last out longer it will also make sure we can't actively respond to the threats in space and that we remain stationary, if the Kalronians attack at the end of year and we only focus on our defenses then we will have a problem on our hands." The emperor nodded in agreement with what the admiral Winters was saying "Yes that may be true but how do you suggest we take care of it, we don't have the resources available at the moment to both expand our defenses as well as defending our fleet, it is either one or the other and we definitely can't neglect either." the emperor says as the company then contemplates the situation until Dante got an idea "We could as another option invest into a large fighter squadron, we can make a hanger on the moon which we can use to hold and send out any fighters we have and with their numbers and maneuverability we can use them to overwhelm the enemy when the heavy hitters a.k.a. the orbital defense cannons give the heavy punches." the company nodded "That is a good idea commander, we will try to implement that as soon as possible to make sure we are prepared when the time comes to defend ourselves because yes it will come, whether in the form of the Kalronians, Corrupters or the Han and their minion the USA there will come a time that we need to be ready for an invasion and when that time comes we will be ready.

People's Agrarian Republic

Beatrice Klinghoffer was on the brink of exhaustion. She had though the fight against the Han was bloody. That was a skirmish, a mere note in history. But as she looked across the plains, she shook. Millions of troops were setting up in different positions. Every day more Tassaran troops poured in. It would seem this war has dragged on for far too long. The Corruptors were set to end it, either way. The allied forces were too strained to do anything else. Attrition will be the death of them. However, a decisive win here will change it all. And that was why the P.A.R was here. A small and elite force would fight alongside these millions.

Defiance-Games-German-Trooper-Concept.jp

General Klinghoffer inspected them daily. The troops had become used to this strange pattern. Every few hours she'd storm by, marching. At first they had treated this as an adventure, happy to leave the farms. The more experienced troops had known better. There had been no Shock Troop survivors from the last battle. Only droids and engineers. Klinghoffer was one of those, and had also served in the Han expedition. Now the troops were subdued. Not cowering however, they still preformed with pride. But they knew what was coming. They knew that they damn well better be ready.

The 1st Tassaran Rifles had come to anticipate Klinghoffers inspections. They stood ready, towering in their Itoron-Steel armor. These troops were the backbone of the Shock Troops. The 1st Tassaran will hold the line in the main fight. A bawdy mix of Tassarans and Human-Tassarans, they mixed well. Hundreds of Tassaran Republicans had come to visit this oddity. A Human colony, actively enrolling all alien units....

The home world of the Tassarans is a tragedy. Many gruesome battles had taken place. The once serene forest and plains were choked with ash and blood. Craters dotted the landscape, and fortifications. It is a sickening sight, especially since many know it will only increase.

Back at home, the colony rejoices. Many of their projects have been finished. This had put the P.A.R into the forefront of tech pioneering. Content, the German populace basked in their own pride. It was shared with the aliens, who had been made so well into home. For now work will continue on Force-Blades. The basic weapons will begin production in the Silver Knights factory on Jatorak.

*However the scientist seek to expand the program. They seek to increase the amount of energy the cell provides. This shouldn't prove too hard it seems. Given their recent advances in a power system complex enough for dual-phased shields. Paired with this, the blade itself is lengthened. The ideal build would be to have it structured as a shorter Katana. Work also goes into a sort of 'Pike'. Scientist see if they can fashion the basic Force-Blade onto a long shaft of Itoron to create a long ranged melee weapon.

The P.A.R announces a new committee. Several various alien citizens will travel to the GTC. There they will represent their nations interest. The main goods the PAR can offer is Xylorite and food in bulk. This is alongside the galaxies FINEST Tea, and luxury goods.

The Solarin Federation

Year 2135 Terra, Sol Colony, Sol’s Rebirth System

The Calm Before the Storm

On Tassarea..

Troops move about place to place, Hauling Crates, placing fortifications, rallying their men in their individual squads.

Staff Sergeant Miller sighed looking at a photo of his daughter, whom was safe back home at Terra. He carefully folded the picture and tucked it away in his pocket before looking over the newest Federation Power Armor he had been given as part of his promotion.

Minutes later he marched out holding his Disruptor Rifle in hand as roughly 5,000 other men stood before him, Tassarans, Libellans, Human-Tassaran half breeds. All had come to fight for this noble and enduring War. “Eyes on your HUDS! Be briefed or be sorry!”

The massive group stood at attention “Yes Staff Sergeant!”

“The Corruptors are preparing for a massive offensive once more to take Tassarea, the largest attack known to date. Knight Company’s 1 through 5 are being deployed to the front to take part in the heaviest of fighting.” He holds up his Disruptor “Let's show those bugs what Human Innovation is all about! Oorah!”

The crowd of which replied “Oorah!!!”

Transports, Fighters, and other craft moved about the F.O.B as troops deployed to their respective positions.

Meanwhile above New Bayside…

A massive Human fleet gathers in Orbit, final preparations take place and coordinates double, triple checked as they prepare to use the new Quantum Anchor Station for the first Strike & Fade Operation ever conducted by the Federation & Allies.

A young ensign marches to the Bridge of the newest Federation Destroyer “Captain Kotch, reports from Admiral Cole. The Fleet is to prepare for Operation Raid at a moments notice.”

Salen nods taking the reports “All hands! Battle-Stations!”

The Alarms went off, shutters covered the Bridge Viewports and the fleet commenced to break Orbit in Deployment Formation.

“Anchors locked on, Standby for Coordinates Captain.” the helmsman stated

Salen Kotch stares out the the closing viewport “So it begins..”

The Thulean Republic

The NMA Pèlerin's expedition to the north of Hyperborée had uncovered the presence of a moderately sized class G star, surrounded by a number of planets both rocky and gaseous. Most notably, though, was the discovery of a large super-Earth, almost 3 times the radius of the human home planet, which possessed large amounts of wild plant life. Bizarrely, the gravity of the planet was only slightly stronger than Earth's, which indicated the planet was considerably less dense, and therefore massive, than would be expected of a rocky planet. The presence of the volatile substance trizendrium was also detected, further raising the interest in the new planet. The Pèlerin's captain, Jacques Cartier, was granted the honour of naming the system's star, and he rather quickly settles on Atlantide, after the lost paradise of ancient Greek myth. The Senate decides upon the names for the various planets surrounding Atlantide, with the habitable world being given the name of Prométhée. The Pèlerin itself returns to Ultima Thule and joins up with the rest of the military fleet.

News of the discovery is quickly disseminated by state organs and the Thulean media. The government's expectation of nation-wide celebration and clamour for migration was actually met with a degree of disinterest in life away from Ultima Thule. It had been almost 30 years since the people of Ultima Thule had left Earth, and a great many people who toiled in mines and hydroponic farms had no memory of life above the surface, and a large portion hadn't even been born on Earth. The majority of people had become accustomed and even comfortable with living beneath a death world. Still, there was a sizable chunk of the populace, mainly among the elders, who did actively cherish a return to Earth-like life. A senatorial commission is convened to undertake the planning of the colonisation of Prométhée and the selection process for the colonists who will make the journey to the new world. To the surprise of Consul Lebrun, a firm believer in the promise the wider galaxy held, the commission deemed propaganda production necessary to attract qualified citizens to the colonial expedition, as well as to boost public faith in the project, the following being a widely acclaimed example:

M9IrXZR.png

Eventually the desired 20,000 prospective settlers, some 10% of the entire population of Ultima Thule, was gathered and vetted. This shock to industrial and agricultural production had been accounted for by the senate, and they had formulated a plan to export the tools and machinery to support the industrial and agricultural capacity along with the colonists who had previously represented it. The NMA Virginie, which had been pre-emptively built a few years ago in preparation for the discovery of a habitable planet, is prepped and boarded. While many were personally disinterested in moving away from the planet they had worked so hard to make a life on, the fact that the Republic was expanding its reach to systems beyond the one they had made their home on brought pride to the Thulean people, a positive outcome which was assisted by the aforementioned propaganda. The less nationalistic and more pragmatic saw that it would at least bring more resources to Ultima Thule and relieve the pressure for housing and food to some extent. Regardless, a rare optimism pervaded the atmosphere of Ultima Thule. The NMA Virginie departed for Prométhée in the Spring of 2135, and arrived soon after.

latest?cb=20110517112142

The bulk of the colonists shall establish establish a settlement on the coast of an inland sea near the equator of the temperate planet. After a plebiscite on the way to Prométhée, it is decided the name of the future settlement shall be Carterre, a play on words of the discoverer who they owed their new life to's name. Several small mining settlements are also to be established across the planet in order to extract from the trizendrium deposits, among other minerals and resources, the largest of which shall be named Vermillon. The small freighter NMA Prospérité accompanied the colonial expedition in order to facilitate the set up of these mining colonies.

With the swell of optimism among the population and the political classes, Consul Lebrun attempts to push through a bill allowing the use of quantum communication systems, and the creation of a preliminary foreign office in order to interact with any civilisations that contact is established with. His personal gravitas and the short-term zeitgeist mean that the Senate passes the bill, although thanks to a senatorial bloc who were less intoxicated by the colonisation mission, it only barely does so. Given the lack of knowledge about any other nations, races, and wars in the galaxy, the Senate decides the plan that will maximise the chance of contact with a fellow human civilisation would be to aim for Alpha Centauri (Earth being a redundant choice given the nearing death of the Sun), and work outwards from there until contact is established. The astronomers of Ultima Thule triangulated the position of the planet within the wider galaxy many years ago, and so locating Alpha Centauri was an elementary task. In a rather less ceremonial manner than the colonisation had been done, the quantum communication arrays are positioned in the direction of Alpha Centauri and fired, with only some of the upper echelons awaiting the results with bated breath.

With the breakthrough in trizendrium stabilisation, senatorial interest is piqued, especially in regards to its potential military applications. Funding and resource diversion for research into the offensive uses for the volatile chemical is increased quite substantially, as well as adding military scientists to the research team. While preliminary ideas range from things such as infantry-equipped trizendrium flamethrowers to firestorm ordinance, the focus of the research right now is to allow large-scale extraction and processing of the substance to levels where it would me militarily useful.

With the successful setup of resource extraction on both Pontos and Arés, attention turns firstly to the largest of the Pontic moons, Démètre

aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcGFjZS5jb20vaW1hZ2VzL2kv

Démètre

On the surface, Démètre appears to be a boring, dead rock orbiting a gas giant. However, below the immediate appearance lies vast deposits of minerals such as copper and platinum, which was a surprise for many astronomers. Several largely automated mines are to be constructed at various locations of the moon's surface, with a manned station in orbit to perform maintenance and other vital operations, all of which would be transported by the NMA Opportun.
