The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon

AP:

Base: 4

Tiles: 2

Trade: 4

Zyrka Investments: 2

In the end, a grand total of 25 Han scientists are invited into the highly secured facility on [REDACTED]. They are thoroughly searched while on approach to the base, lectured about confidentiality and security protocols, etc but are treated very well by any standards. While not all their whims can be fulfilled, they are usually accommodated as much as the facility leaders deem appropriate. They will henceforth use a ‘clean’ section of the facility, a section with new tools and equipment. Should they require equipment from the Han Dominion, it is ordered for them, though it is meticulously searched before being delivered to them. It would seem that the GTFO is intent on being civil, accommodating and polite, but still quite cautious about the security and secrecy of their facility. They will not be allowed to leave their assigned research area and attached living quarters for security reasons for the duration of their stay. Any guards they brought with them are politely but firmly told to stay on the ships that brought them here, as the GTFO ensures it will value their scientists safety as highly as that of its own people.

Actions

A request goes to Zyrka to help install the Northern Galactic Network that is used in both their nation and the Ka’Cezh Star Empire. (0AP)

With the initial colony created on London Prime, many of the materials and resources shipped in from the North are put to use expanding it rapidly. Using ships, the help of Zyrka and a strong flow of trade, the GTFO begins to build the basis for the GTC. With the imminent signature of the GCMTNT by many northern nations and some southern ones, they begin to build out the city to the expected standards. Skyscrapers begin to rise over the cold, white horizon, their tips piercing the snow-laden clouds above and punching into the sun beyond. With the help of Zyrka advisors and the northern internet, they also build housing blocks and areas of the city to fit the standards of life of alien nations with bars that serve their own drinks, etc. As the skyscrapers finish, they begin a marketing campaign to attract businesses from across the galaxy, leaning heavily on the upcoming formal creation of the GTC and that prime office space such as this will soon be eaten up by big corporations. There marketing campaigns seem to be mostly targeted to Zyrka Engineering, the Ka’Cezh, the Ar’Gakari, the T’jell Galactic Bureaucracy, Hephaestus Enterprises, etc. (3AP) (6 invested)

9QsWzSf.jpg

Work also begins on various cultural attractions on London Prime. The most highly publicized one is the Trafalgar Zoo of Deadly Creatures. Within will be creatures shipped in from the death world of Victoria, as well as other beasts they may be able to purchase from northern nations. However, the main focus would be creatures found only on Victoria. They would be safely displayed in their natural habitats in enclosed biodomes in an elaborate multi-leveled zoo meant to attract visitors from all over the galaxy. (2AP) It seems as if there are even whispers of a Death World resort being planned in the future....

ken_b_01.jpg

They also build a series of parks, statues and museums revolving around the culture of old earth, its art and its history. From paintings to sculptures to the great wars and events of their planet. Some are even roughly copied from older museums, such as the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam or the Imperial War Museum of London. However, considering the vastly safer and less complex nature of these plans, they should normally require far less resources. (0AP)

A new immigration policy takes place in the GTFO. It states that any non-GTFO individual wishing to gain citizenship is allowed to apply to the Bureau of Immigration & Tourism (BIT) for a temporary residence permit. If they succeed in finding a job and fulfilling other parameters (income, housing, no criminal record, etc.) after two years (the expiration date of their permit) they can then apply for full citizenship. The BIT launches a campaign to attract aliens from all nations to immigrate to the GTC. For the most part, they focus on the new job opportunities, the chance to begin anew and have a head start on others. They also focus on the GTFO’s neutral stance, the stability of the North and the riches that will soon flow through it as a point to attract people from the war torn south, be they human or alien. (1AP)

With the advent of the 8th crusade, the GTFO sees an opportunity for profit. Considering that many warehouses have already been built, and more are to come, they offer the Northern nations the GTC as a staging point for their operations into the south.

  • To stockpile resources, weapons, armor, ammunition, food or anything else that needs to be shipped from the north and cannot be bought in large enough quantities in the south. It would be stored in the GTC warehouses.
  • As a staging point and regrouping point for their armies and battleships going south, as long as their fleets respect the DMZ that is Wellington’s orbit. Their crewmembers and soldiers however are free to fly to the main city of GTC-P and enjoy its attractions as long as they leave weapons and hostilities behind. (0AP)

ZoDJGWX.png

The GTFO continues to expand their space station with the help of Zyrka. They expand it both in size, in complexity and in defenses. More defensive countermeasures are added, larger hangers, docking arms, stocking facilities, Customs Gates, housing & hotel areas, repair bays, refueling stations for passersbys as well as secured facilities such as scanning and ‘radar’ rooms, barracks, and so on and so forth. All in all, they try to make it the most efficient and effective trading port possible. (3AP) (6 invested)

5AZxTBp.jpg

With the news of the Southern alien nations prolonged silence due to the many on going wars, the GTC decides to leave their envoys in those nations instead of calling them back, if the nations would allow it. They send more gifts, mostly the exotic type, ranging from 'pets' from the death world of Victoria to rare commodities that they purchased through trade with northern nations. Much like they did in the north, they begin to treat the Southern aliens like valuable potential allies after the success of that campaign. The Emissaries are civil and attempt to learn what they can of the alien culture and act accordingly. All in all, they are simply trying to ingratiate themselves in the eyes of the southern aliens, and sway their opinions in favor the GTC and its goal. They also remind the southern nations that with the impending signature into the GTC of 11/13 northern nations, it can only mean good things for them. (2AP)

The Thulean Republic

"Consul Lebrun, Consul de Cambacérès, the use of the quantum communications array has yielded results."

"Oui? Have we managed to make contact with our brother humans, Secretary Archambault?"

"It is not so, Monsieur Lebrun."

"Ah, disappointing but expected."

"You misunderstand, Monsieur de Cambacérès. We made contact, just not with other humans. It was with an alien civilisation in Alpha Centauri, by the name of the Ascardian Principate."

"Bonté divine, aliens? What did they have to say?"

"Our liaison with the aliens was short, as I was quite anxious to pursue further communication without first consulting you both. However, in our brief contact, the Ascardians gave us a map of the galaxy."

"That is good of them, I suppose."

"They also offered warning of some other alien race they referred to the Keerim, that they are likely to attempt to subjugate us should they discover our existence."

"Hmm, this is grave news indeed. Merci, Secretary Archambault, you have done well. We must discuss the implications of your findings, so we bid you adieu."

The two Consuls looked incredulously at each other, thoroughly rattled by what Pierre Archambault, the Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had just told them both. When the go-ahead for the use of the quantum communications array toward Alpha Centauri was given, it had been expected that the first attempt would either be met with no response, or that of some human civilisation that had managed to make it to the destination of the great human exodus from Earth. Instead, they had apparently made contact with the Ascardian Principate, who had given them a map of the galaxy and a warning to avoid a great alien empire known as the Keerim Imperium, which unfortunately was only a few sectors away from Thulean territory. It certainly did not bode well. However, the knowledge they had gained put them at a distinct advantage - they knew where everyone else was, yet only the Ascardians knew where the homeworld of the Thulean Republic lay. The Republic desired to reach out to others, and with this knowledge they could reveal their existence to those who likely did not pose a threat to the Thulean people and state. A senatorial committee is gathered, headed by Secretary Archambault, to deliberate on which nations to establish relations with.

After several days of reviewing each nation using what preliminary information they had, the committee comes finally concludes which nations and corporations should be avoided, and which should be contacted. The Thulean Republic reaches out to the following nations / corporations to establish communications, requesting of each that they don't reveal their own existence or location at least to another sovereign organisation:

The Imperial Republic of Mankind

The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon
The People's Agrarian Republic

The Asgard Republic

The Free Human Technocracy

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

The Solarin Federation

The United Canadian Front

The Silver Knight Corporation

The Holy Kingdom of Eadn

Hephaestus Enterprises

A great many alien civilisations are not contacted until the Republic better understands their nature and relations among each other. The Thulean public are informed of the results of the message to Alpha Centauri, letting them know they were not alone in the void. However, the proximity of the Keerim is, for now, not revealed.

In less ground-breaking matters, yet another breakthrough had been achieved in trizendrium technology. Large-scale processing of the substance has been achieved, and with a degree of luck one of the engineers managed to produce a viable form of a trizendrium round, which yields promising results. The success of this leads to to a renewed focus on trizendrium weaponry, and with large amounts of trizendrium now available to be worked with larger weapons begin development. The main forms of these are anti-personnel trizendrium-fueled flamethrowers, trizendrium-cell artillery and railgun shells, and trizendrium warhead barrage missiles for use in all forms (SAM, ASM, AAM, SSM, etc), with other applications being designed.

With the knowledge of imperialistic superpowers on the Republic's doorstep, the administration shifts focus to military build-up should worst come to worst and they need to defend themselves. The first of this is a Chasseur-class frigate, to be commissioned as the NMR Esprit de Liberté, begins construction in the Métis Shipyard. Plans are also begin to be drawn up for surface-based defenses for both Promethée and Ultima Thule.

Activity:

The U.C.F. fleet in the Ganvius sector remains dormant, standing fast at a distant Ganvian colony near the edge of their controlled space. They await further orders from the Ganvius, waiting for their next chance to strike at the Kalronians. Drills are carried out on board the troop carrier, ensuring that they troops on board are ready at any moment's notice.

Further development goes into the research of the Kalronian body armor. With their very large sum of materials and personnel used on the research, many begin to wonder what exactly the plating is made of.

The newest and baddest ship designed by the U.C.F. enters production, hence making their newest ship the largest of the U.C.F. fleet.

“Ben, let me tell you. This firstborn. Chaal… She was way more attractive than the Commodore for the Grand Alliance you had stay with you.” Blaine would laugh to himself setting down his morning coffee, before kicking his legs up and putting them on the board room table..

“Oh knock it off Blaine. So I am guessing that is what the Han were protecting from SATO. Must of been the only reason the Ka’cezh started their crusade as well.” Ben scratched his chin for a moment before grabbing his pen to write down some notes.

“What caused the lightbulb to go off?” Blaine would grin.

“We need to help out. I am planning the effective ways of growing our navy enough to actually pack a punch. Something you should be doing as well Admiral…” Ben would jab back as he hid his smile behind his bowed head. “Make sure the troops are ready to join in on the offensive. They are going to need to be ready for it. Might have to recall Wilson. But we will leave it be for now.”

Blaine would lower his feet off the desk, “Yes sir… I am ready to get back out their and fight. These bugs need to be crushed.”

“Also Blaine.” Ben would look up from his writing, “We need to figure out the abilities of each psionic Da’nor and Hybrid that volunteered. So we can properly use them.” He’d go back to writing his notes down. “One last thing. The facilities for our clones will be completed soon. Hopefully we will no longer be required to use our own…” he’d look up at Blaine seeing him nod. “You're dismissed buddy..” he’d place his head down once more and continue writing.

======

An intern would bust through the door, holding her data pad with a “Breaking News” flash across it, “Sir have a look at this…” she'd slide the pad over to him.

“Hmmm Aurora is petitioning to join a new colony eh?” He'd continue watching the news clip, “They obviously will not join us. We are too far and we used to be former enemies because of our respective alliances. But we can advocate for another. As we want to see our technocratic brothers thrive in the galaxy…” he’d slide the pad back to her, “Get me a camera and help me record this message for them.”

===

“Hello fellow humans and technocrats.. You probably believe that we are here to petition you to join us. As we have a similar governments. Even if we have been at odds before in the past. Let us put that aside. However, we are not here to do that. We are here that you join another nation. A fellow nation and a fellow friend of ours Hephaestus Enterprises. They will protect your best interests and provide the strength you so desire in a union. As a leader it pains me to pass on an opportunity to potentially strengthen my nation. But I see it best for humans to stick in a pack where you can so thrive. Thank you, may science guide you forward. Ben Watson.” He’d shut off the camera.

The Han Dominion

Summer, HSC 5

ugql1P-mmOtN2end-Lt1VxwUEp9qWcalUiaxJoIed_H10TbGFK9mWj-ZBWai8vRxv8Xz6bbJ4rf7_8Zrhg9ySehom97Z05bHDQHUgBr89PDkXvKY2mO_ELxlIdkC4wkwuwhCxvMJ

The battle for Tassarea was won. But the war was far from over.

Huang Jie, Captain of the Jinyiwei, oldest and most powerful of the psychic Han Wushi, was far from home. The mission he had been dispatched on was complete: he had found a man somewhere in the galaxy who could do something about its plight, and he had brought Chaal where her authority could have the greatest effect. She rested now: politics were not her element, and though her presence was soothing and inspiring to the crew, Jie hoped she wouldn’t be plunged into it again. Little Hanying would keep her company, and learn from her while she did so.

But such relaxation was not for Jie. He had asked the Lord of Stars for help on behalf of the Dominion, and now he would have to see it through. The crusade had begun, and so long as it continued, there was no way for him but north.

As he stepped onto the bridge of the battleship Ly’rezh Bant, the Ka’cezh crew saluted, and he returned it with hand fisted as done at home. The view out the main bridge window was one of carnage: salvage barges floated between the ruined hulks of hundreds of Corrupter ships, and through it all glided the great warships of the Ka’cezh star empire.

“Welcome back, Captain,” said the Ka’cezh first officer, rising from the command chair. The reptilians could be hard to read at times, but the pride of victory still radiated off of the tall alien.

Jie nodded to him with a grin. Commander Gat’karon was a stern man, and in the short period of time the two had known each other, he had never shown open satisfaction at either the Han in command or the Ka’cezh he commanded. Still, here on a field of victory, the grizzled first officer was smiling.

“And it’s good to be back,” Jie said, dropping the salute. “They’re all very grateful for the help down there, but the place is a graveyard. This wasn’t the first time the Corrupters were here.”

Gat’karon nodded. “Fleet movements arrived while you were gone, sir. Seems the Star Lord wants to move quickly. Are we expecting Tassaran reinforcements?”

“Don’t think so.” Jie looked somberly out the viewport, shaking his head. By the time he turned back to the first officer though, his face held only intense satisfaction. “They’ve had a long war. Apparently they need some rest.” He looked to rest of the crew present. “Well I don’t know about all of you, but I’m not tired yet.”

A hearty chuckle spread through the ranks, and the Han took his seat in the command chair. “Commander,” he continued, “take us out of this debris field and prepare to move out.”

Flanked by smaller Ka’cezh support ships, the battleship rose out of the wreckage. All around, other capital ships were doing the same, assembling far above the planet of Tasssarea. The warships numbered in the thousands. Each was as majestic as the empire it came from. Each bristled with weaponry. And each was facing north.

Jie smiled. There was a war on, and he didn’t intend to miss it.

----------

Little of note occurs in the Dominion this year. While wealthier citizens in Huizhou may stay informed on galactic politics, the vast majority of the Han live on Yuguo, where they are insulated from the grand events taking place. The military continues to train, the Jinyiwei continues to watch, and the Daos continue to bicker.

----------

A Message to the Auroran Technocracy

At some point during the year, a quantum broadcast takes place to Aurora with full fanfare. It begins with a full hour of simply displaying the Dominion’s seal accompanied by the national anthem:

AQmK-J_Z7rWeS-2cjrRLdcxYFb9eAL2UI2tQXgeuI3Jc-G-d0wqnjmC0rQ6FYbMYbAI8-pz4KD54NjIqrVv4ne5N8Nk9IjY6q9psRyfQv36o7V38ad-9Jw0qn16scAoriadu64X7

At last, though, the masked face of a Dao graces the screen, and an impassioned address follows in its modulated tone of voice.

“Pathetic worms of Aurora,

At last, you have come to recognize and accept your weakness. Though you may truly be filthy, lowly creatures, this at least we can respect. And so you call out for help, for your dimwitted leaders cannot see a clear path forward. It is unsurprising. Few can see the path in the way that the glorious Dominion does.

You will kowtow before the mighty Han. And in so doing, you will serve a higher purpose. Your technology, your fleets, your soldiers, all will be molded into weapons to carry forth the will of the Dominion. Your talents, however meager, have languished and been wasted by your decadent leadership. No longer.

You may ask yourselves: ‘what do the Han offer in return to their subjects?’ The answer is that we offer nothing. For each individual is a loathsome insect, deserving of just that: nothing. For there is nothing worth having in life that is not worth fighting for, and you will do just that. You will fight, and you will struggle, and you will bleed. And perhaps in time you will gain some measure of redemption for the pitiful natures of your souls, but you will continue to fight nonetheless. For those who will not fight, do not deserve to live.

We await your response. Choose correctly.”

The transmission cuts out.

General Activity:

The rumbling noise of the many systems on the bridge drown out the hushed voices of the crew. The captain looks out into the vastness of space watching a small Ganvius detachment turn then warp off into the nothing. His mind was racing, their orders could come any minute now and it’d be up to him to lead his men into battle against the alien threat. An officer approaches him and hands him a manila folder titled CLASSIFIED, he then turns and moves to return to his post. Swiveling on his heels the captain would take his seat at the helm reading through the paper, his face blank as he took in the information.

Despite being far away from the frontlines the military was optimistically preparing for any incursion into their space. The remaining fleet would patrol both systems actively and soldiers are on high alert stationing the many frontier outpost. Marines patrolled the shipyard with double their numbers and kept its small defense guns ready at a moment’s notice. Daily reminders on evacuation locations and places to hide are ran twice a week, both colonies were tense with activity and fear. The need to see build larger ships would also arise as frigates and destroyers could only go so far against their alien foe, the shipyard would be upgraded.

Research taken in from their UCF brothers would be taken and made into a prototype and tested, until then production lines would start on their first set of power armor. The LAS VI program would be installed into the hud’s improving the soldiers capability. It would immediately be sent off to the Kalronian front to augment the marines aboard the troop transport.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

40k_imperial_aquila__transparent__by_fug

Location: Novam Domum, outer defenses

The emperor Alexander Varellion looked out from one of the watchtowers looking at the line of concrete bunkers lining the outside of the Imperial center and the area outside of the city consisting of mostly farms and some mines scattered around several positions. As he looked around flanked by his bodyguards the Praetorians he saw the long and very fortified line of bunkers and other positions that aimed mainly outside the city but also got a few position towards the inside in case the inside was breached. He then realized and muttered to himself "I must say I maybe went a little bit too far. or a lot." He says as he remembers hearing from the reports that Novam Domum was now one of the most fortified worlds in the southern galaxy which has a pretty decent history of war these last few decades and especially these last few years. But now he at least knew that Novam Domum was safe and good with land based defenses as well as the fortifications on the moon. What still was lacking though was the absence of a fleet in the air. This could be a large, to be honest it is a extreme disadvantage since it denies the IRM a large amount of mobility and it can not react to a attack on one of it's two outer colonies outside of Novam Domum. Still though, it was satisfying to come close to the title of most fortified world in the southern galaxy, though he still wanted to make sure that there were more delaying actions for all civilians to manage to get into cover of the bunker complexes. So what he needed was safety but he also needed to make sure there were less enemies that would attack him. Yet luckily he at least a few dealings in place that would hopefully prevent an attack from one of it's more direct possible enemies which would be more interested in him as a whole. Alexander then turned around seeing Commander Dante and Admiral Winters approaching and motioned to the Praetorians who were standing around him in a semi-circle to let them through. He might be a bit paranoid with the Praetorians following him around whenever he went outside of the palace and kept his private quarters guarded but paranoia has saved more than a few lives, if it was not overdone.

d6e144cb4c5289842f818fb3805c8160--concep

Back to the matter at hand admiral Winters and Commander Dante came to stand next to him "A good view is it not." the emperor would say looking out over the green fields of the formerly barren land.

"That is true sir, but we wanted to speak to you.""Of course." Alexander says as he listens to admiral Winters speak"Then speak, what matter would you wish to talk of.""Well my liege whilst we know that these defenses will be very good for any land battles and some slight space support with the Karras cannons we feel like there might not be enough space based defenses." commander Dante would say and Alexander would nod.

"That is true but what would you suggest I do, build the fleet larger ?" "Precisely." the admiral would say.

"Mhm," Alexander then strokes his chin as he contemplates "Yet at some point I will need to stop investing into pure military or we will get weak economically." "That is true yet I emphasize as you personally already know there are plenty of threats that would profit of our destruction."
Alexander then spoke with authority in his voice "I will listen to your suggestions and will definitely take them into consideration but I will also invest in some matters that can help strategically whilst also helping our income." "And what might that be ?" Dante inquires.

"Well chlorite of course." Alexander smirks

The NIP (New Immigration Policy)

The emperor Alexander Varellion looking from the other human colonies has seen the benefits of letting aliens join their colonies but neither does he want to dilute the human gene pool. Thus he has decided to now let any sapient species as classified by the archival in his discovery of the united gene pool of many races. a.k.a. Da'Nor Tassareans etc.

Thus any sapient races wishing to flee from the war and live on the secure planet of Novam Domum are welcome.

Any immigrants must do a test to see if they are skilled and in what sector they would prefer to work in and what their area of expertise is. Furthermore anyone who is likely to actively oppose IRM policy and believes will not be allowed to immigrate.

Activity

The Colony would rejoice as a major victory against the Corrupter Dominion would be at hand. Though four ships were lost it was a small cost to try and ensure the end of the Dominion. More resources would be funneled into Fleet Expansion once more. Along with other projects.

The Aurora Colony would be contacted "We Invite Aurora Colony to join the Corporations Sphere of Influence, offering a place within the Free Market of Ideas and Innovation where no State can hold back whatever it is the Aurorans wish to create or develop."

A reorganization of the structure of the Corporations territory would begin to occur, slowly but surely the Corporation would be begin to be replaced with a Minarchist Monarchical Government with the ideology and constitution of the territory replaced with Objectivist Capitalist Ideals. Requiring a sense of nationalism to motiviate the armed forces rather than simple monetary motivation, people needed to believe in Armathwaite for it to succeed in the competitive galaxy.

Activity Points

The Territory of the Corporation would begin the reorganization into a Minarchist State ruled via Monarchy (0AP)

The Corporation would begin to replace ships lost, moving to begin with the two Destroyers lost in the recent battle of Tasserea (6AP)

The Corporation would continue its work with Project Gawain, continuing to see about building a minature Xylorite Reactor that would work within a Mech Suit to begin with (3AP)

- Arabic Proverb

In order to most effectively provide for the protection of those who desire peace and prosperity among the surviving human nations, the most enlightened of human leaders unite in this year 2136 to from the Human Cooperative. The Human Cooperative, henceforth referred to as The Cooperative, serves to provide Humanity with a network of stalwart partners in trade, defense, and technology. As such, the Cooperative opens its membership to any human nation willing to support the defense of the common heritage of Humanity.

Article I
- All members of The Cooperative will be members of only The Cooperative unless explicitly permitted via direct vote by the entire governing body of the organization. This is effective immediately upon the ratification of this treaty by member states.

Article II
- Trade of any technology with any non-members, especially Human states whom are non-members, is forbidden. Member states will not receive nor grant outside states technology.

Article III
- An attack on any member of the organization shall prompt an immediate and overwhelming military response by all other members of the organization to destroy that threat to the stability of humanity.

Article IV
- In the case of a war that engulfs the entirety of The Cooperative, the fleets of each sovereign state will be organized into a single cohesive fleet beneath which several battle groups will be formed. It is a busy year. The 8th Crusade begins to unfold fully, with endless reports of successful and unsuccessful battles and attacks flooding in from the Northern and Southern front. Casualty statistics are mounting, for so many races and nations. But at least those who fought them for decades can rest at ease for the time being. Chaal the Saryn takes on the young Hanying as her daughter, to begin her journey through the Southern Galaxy.

Perhaps an event of big interest for the humans is the decision of the Auroran Technocracy.

The first round of votes brings only four potential banners to the next turn. The PAR, Silver Knights, Hephaestus and the Solarin Federation. ((Encounter))

----

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

Despite the fact that it is in a warzone, the ships go unheeded by all fighting sides, colonization taking place as usual.

Still, the results are only theoretical and mathematics, as this field is entirely new for mankind to explore as such straight away. This is not reverse engineering, this is inventing. Time and effort are of essence in this venture.

The two ships are built as ordered, and join the Fleet of Malta as planned.

The retrofitting of the ships goes slowly, but steadily. Although that being a given, they will need next year too to wrap up the retrofitting.

United States Of Arcturus

A long journey, but thanks to the supplies the freighters take along, this is journey is well supplied. At the end of the year they have arrived, communications with the homeworld are good and stable, the ships awaiting command.

Some interesting findings have been made. ((Skype))

Even more fortifications? Like madmen, digging and drilling, building and stockpiling. Bunkers, tunnels, reinforced positions. It almost feels like they are building that for the Keerim.

Hephaestus Enterprises

And eight frigates with Hephaestus standard are ready to go where Penrith points.

These... rabbits appear very comfortable around human beings. In general, they have observed that they tend to linger around peaceful bigger creatures that they consider not a threat to them, but capable of protecting them. Whilst there is no real return for being protected, something still seems to satisfy other native fauna on the planet when they are present.

A rich Grgl shows up, bringing a peculiar object with him.

THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN

Whilst the light cruiser and the colony ship are finished and head out into the stars, one to fight in future battles, the other to claim new grounds for the Eadni people, the investment into the research goes just as well and as planned. Minor corrections in material quality, deviations in calculations are being fixed and in general the computer simulations look quite promising for this improved weapon.

Two sectors away, they are lucky, finding an earth-like world, rich and fertile, with breathable atmosphere, fauna and flora in place. Something is off about the planet, the sensors can not quite pinpoint it.

The Solarin Federation

With inspiration from the Kalronian combat interface in their helmets, they actually manage to make some significant improvements to how the LAS system operates and how the system interacts with the wearer. This update could well be called LAS II, current designations ignored. With new streamlined information output and tactical information and interlinking between the soldiers it should assist them like never before.

The field of force blade technology is new for the Federation, although there are several nations in the galaxy that have force blades as a standard equipment piece for their soldiers. Whilst the majority uses regular forcefields similar to shield technologies, the Ymorians have disruptor energy infused energy blades, the Ka'cezh use combat knifes that are covered in light energy, laser, when active. The concept phase requires to make a decision in which direction they should go.

The search is extensive, but does indeed yield results. Two sectors south of the old Remnant capital world, they do find a system with Itoron deposits, with a neighbouring star holding an arid planet that is inhabitable, much alike Tassarea.

The Colonial freighter is finished as planned, ready to set foot upon a new world.

Rond Trazur does indeed bring important and valuable insight into how the military structure may streamline itself. His experience in the war against the Corrupters, his martial education in the Redon Imperium have both left their mark on his perspectives. Currently, as per contract, he is rooting out shortcomings in the current system, replacing and moving officers and commanders as required, reassigning captains of ships if given permission, conducting hundreds of interviews with crewmen and soldiers, to bring them all together into a more efficient fighting force.

And the little corvettes do wonderful work. Never caught, they hop in, mark targets, for a nearby Ka'cezh fleet to jump in and conduct business. The losses of the Corrupters are rising steadily.

The communique is acknowledged by all nations, yet they remain steadfast in their cause. It appears that both sides still believe they can win.

They fought together, they bled together, they died together.

The People's Agrarian Republic

Many secrets.

Given current technological standards, the first version of the combat knife with integrated forcefield projector reaches it peak of performance. Stable for extended periods of time, capable of cutting heavily into material, well balanced and light weight, it is a useful addition for any soldier.

The proposal is welcomed by various commanders of the Ka'cezh fleet quite readily. Fresh food supplies for the fighting force, it easens the strain on the long supply route from the Star Empire, and frees up cargo capacity for more weapons and soldiers. (1 AP from 8th Crusade Breadbasket)

Chaal smiles sadly, as she is approached by the veterans of this pointless battle. As she states that they are a foolish young race that still has so much to learn, she does forgive them for what she can forgive for, but for the other men and women, their children and families, they have to seek them to ask for forgiveness. They are free to go.

The new planet the colony ship settles upon is yet another mountaineous alpine world, rugged formations and mountain ranges dominating the landscape. But the flora and fauna is rich despite the cool climate. Sturdier crops will grow just fine here.

The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon

The Zyrka do indeed connect the communication system and network of Orimon to the Northern Galactic Network, with all regulations and contracts of the Ka'cezh Star Empire in place. Mind you, all nations of the Northern galaxy actively are part of this network, with the exception of the Zaxx and the Ar'gakari.

It's still a way from becoming the essential trade center between North and South, but it will get there at some point. Right now, it begins to serve as the last supply point before they reach Hephaestus. Many materials and wares, weapons and soldiers are beginning to be funneled through the new trade port. For the while being, whilst the trade port is still growing, the investments into potential tourism do not prove of much value yet, very few come to stay. Currently. But those who stay are intent to establish their own businesses too. The importance and the potential of the planet can barely be put into words. (2 AP from 8th Crusade Rally Point)

Proper immigration on the other hand might become feasible, as soon as the port reaches a certain point of attraction. But, the first few already wage to start a new life. ((Sounds brief, but I was not sure what else to state, you need to grow this port.))

The Thulean Republic

Whilst they do manage to have Trizendrium as a payload in missiles and shells, less relevant of size, it appears still to be unusable for the proposed flamethrowers. But the technology stands.

The ship is finished as planned, ready to defend the interests of the Thulean Republic.

The planning of the defensive systems might go well, but there is no build progress.

And at the beginning of the new year, sensor alerts indicate an unknown fleet enters the capital system of the Thulean Republic. ((Encounter))

United Canadian Front

And the UCF Stalwart is ready for combat. It might be sooner than later, as the Ganvius Nation does indeed contact them, reporting they have a battle for them to fight.

There is unfortunately not much more to discover in this standard infantry combat armor. But they do finish a first prototype of the suit and successfully test it on the field. Whilst it looks like a cheap copy, it should be possible to produce it for the men on the field.

The Free Human Technocracy

And so they continue building it. Next year, the architects state, they will finish it and get it up and running if the resources assigned remain even.

All four ships are finished as ordered.

The Han Dominion

With the required goal set, the project continues, but remains in the concept stage. This is a difficult project and it will take a while.

Chaal and Hanying leave Jie to his duties of war, whilst they begin to journey the Southern galaxy, avoiding conflict. After a brief visit to Proteum Davun with the Archivar as their host, their journey begins.

United Colonial Initiative

With the sheer amount of resources and manpower invested into the shipyard extension they manage to finish it in just under a year, ready to pickup construction orders already again. (6/6 AP. SL 3 now.)

And the first set of 1000 suits are being made, based upon the UCF design (see above). It should be noted, this is NO power armor. It is combat armor.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

With reparations sent off, the remaining resources funneled into the shipyard, yield the construction of three frigates, ready to defend the homeworld at any cost.

Expanding upon the Xylorite mines proves to be a good idea. The additional Xylorite can prove useful for powering the generators that supply the now very vast defense network.

Whatever effects the new immigration policy may have is yet to be seen, as the amount of foreign races in the Imperial Republic equals zero. Probably the lack of appeal.

Silver Knight Corporation

((I assume the first thing refers to a change from Oligarchy into Autocracy, changing your bonuses.))

Whilst the two new destroyers leave the shipyard as planned, there are good news from the Xylorite reactor front. They have managed to build a functional version of the intended small reactor, with everything fully in order and functional. Apparently one of the scientists who was tasked with the job had a chat with an old man in a white suit about the formula he was struggling with and got helped out. A formula that is two pages long.

Asgard Republic

According to external sources, the black ore is called Itoron, a metal that is incredibly resilient and is the material of dreams when combined with common steel, beating Titanium for space constructions in every aspect. It is usually mined by laser, although the drill approach works too, with pure Itoron drill bits and saw blades.

The corvette is finished as planned, just when the positive reply comes for the Lithruan Coalition. All four member nations are willing to enter a trade pact with the Asgard Republic.

Events

The year is slow, the conflict with the Keerim and the Rebellion showing little activity this year. Only the Kalronian and Ganvius are at full power, with the military losses climbing into the hundreds of thousands, several thousand vessels destroyed, planets devastated, millions of civilians evacuated.

Chaal's gift remains. She herself begins to pay visits to various nations and human colonies.

A communique is received by a group of humans calling themselves the Colonial Militia. They are offering to join any nearby Human colonies, as they have barely avoided extinction by Kalronian hand it seems.

Base: 4

Trade: 4

Tiles: 2

Zyrka Investments: 2

8th Crusade: 2

With the official confirmation that the GTC will become the final port before Hephaestus Enterprises for the duration of the 8th Crusade, work on the spaceport is doubled. Such high demand and so many goods flowing through helps the GTC realize they are far behind what they need to be if they wish to become the center of trade in the galaxy. Thus, the station is grown in size. Their goal for the end of the year is to reach a length of 7km with a height of 3km and be able to field at least a 1100 freighters every day. Their goal for 5 years is to reach 20km in length with a height of 7 and be able to field 5500 freighters a day. (6AP) (12 invested total)

The city is continually expanded as the population rises to approximately 200.000 people. Now, plans are laid and construction begins on a large university in the town center. The Central University of Negotiations, Trade & Services (*****). It would be carefully built to be both beautiful and practical, with facilities that can accommodate humans and other aliens of ALL nationalities. There would be no GTFO-only rule, but non-citizens would indeed have to pay a higher entrance fee. Professors from various nations are invited to teach here for high salaries as the GTFO preaches the value of education, and many of those who they wish to send to learn amongst the Ka’Cezh and Zyrka would also return to teach here eventually. (3AP) (9 invested total)

Project THEIA aims to create a scanning system far more advanced than the sensors used in this day and age by humans. The goal is to have nodes surrounding a system along with central nodes on planets that all link together but are also independently functional at a lesser efficiency. They would be able to detect & identify objects approaching the system, even at lightspeed or warping in, days before they arrive. The system would also have an branch dedicated to close-range minute scanning, much like in airports of old. This would function as a system that can scan ships entering the system and see what they carry within. It would be somewhat intrusive insofar that the ship would be made aware that they are being scanned. And also politely notified! Zyrka and the Cevelli are asked if they have an interest in cooperating and sending people to work on this project in tandem with GTFO scientists. (4AP)

Museum & Cultural exchange All eleven signatories in the North as well as The Han Dominion, Novam Domum, the Silver Knights, The Order of Malta, The Thulean Republic and The Asgard Republic are invited to come visit the GTC and see its spires, the Trafalgar Death World Zoo and its many museums as well as contribute their own culture through the medium of museums, cultural centers and statues of their own history. (0AP)

The GTFO approaches the Cevelli Pact, the T’Jell Galactic Bureaucracy and the Ka’Cezh star empire for investments into the GTC stating that Zyrka has proven to be invaluable in the rapid completion of many crucial aspects, and that their contribution would not be forgotten. Additionally, it will accelerate the process and make the GTC ready for the official signing ahead of projected due dates. (0AP)

The GTFO approaches Zyrka Engineering and the Ka’Cezh. They come bearing gifts and ask if the two nations would be interested in hosting some of the GTFO’s brightest minds, both scientists, businessmen and military. These humans would come to labs, universities and military academies in each nation and learn more about their respective trade under the teachings of the two nations own brightest minds, in an effort to emulate their own knowledge and move the GTC further from the chains of what should rightfully be obsolete technologies and ways of thought. (1AP)

The BIT (Bureau of Immigration and Tourism) lets it be known that any Cevelli, Cynn,  Alduu'uuraneans or Da'nor with psionic capabilities who wish to immigrate to the GTC will be given full citizenship in 1 year instead of 2. Additionally, they or their children will receive a special grant if they wish to pursue studies in the GTC. The GTFO expects that this move might accrue some backlash from those without such capabilities and reminds the population that such capacities are invaluable and rare, and we should all be grateful for such an addition to society. Cevelli or Da'Nor who should happen to marry a GTFO human will receive immediate citizenship as the GTFO sees the merit in human/cevelli hybrids with psionic capabilities. (0AP)

United Canadian Front

Activity:

The U.C.F. fleet known as Strike Group Brooklyn is soon reinforced by their newly built cruiser, the U.C.F. Stalwart. With their sudden boost in firepower, the fleet heads for a central rally point in Ganvius space, meeting with several dozen other friendly vessels from The Cooperative. With their orders assigned and issued between the several fleets, Strike Group Brooklyn leads the Cooperative’s fleet towards the edge of Ganvius space, towards the Kalronian frontline.

The council that runs the U.C.F. turns into one of pure chaos, with too many voices in the room all voicing opinions of different subjects, the decision is finally made to cast a vote on the matter, to have a single voice to govern the council as a whole and as such, the entire Canadian Front. The voting process is as long as it is difficult, to choose a single leader from a council of over three dozen does not prove to be an easy task. To solve this issue, all of the voters are put into brackets with one another, making it so that there are only two candidates per bracket. The entire process takes several months to conclude, though it runs smoothly as the choices slowly begin to narrow.

earth_federation_flag_by_onesangheili-d3

Salen, Vira and Rond Trazur stood at a window looking out into the Shipyard as the Federation began construction of it’s first Cruiser Class Warship. Many other nations have larger craft though the Federation prioritizes more advanced technology to remain ahead not numbers.

She’ll be a beautiful addition to the Fleet once she’s finished” Salen remarks. Vira nods “Newly acquired technology will certainly put us ahead of our enemies. How are the reports on the front?

Salen looks to her “Hopper and Spiderbait? Oh they are doing a fantastic job. Our stealth ships have gone absolutely unnoticed, several key systems have been struck by our Northern allies thanks to our efforts.

Vira smiles “Good.

A nearby worker looks over the details for the ship’s construction.

Athens Class Light Cruiser

The Light Cruiser contains a wide array of Dual Railgun Turrets, the first Federation Warship to not have a MAC Cannon.

The Athens Class was equipped with a Xylorite Core, Dual-Phased Shields, the new LAS II to allow the crew and it’s men to better coordinate. Another first, the Athens features two forward arced Laser Cannons, It’s main array is standard ballistic but it’s two forward laser cannons are meant to help it punch through Shielded Targets.

This Light Cruiser also contains an Auxiliary Bridge deeper in it’s belly in the event the Main Bridge should be lost.

IN GOD WE TRUST

______________________

“There comes the time when we sail so far, our homeland dips beneath the horizon, and we will have no choice but to press onwards to the destination.”

“Captain, ship nav systems reporting linked, quantum jump drives are spun up and warp transition is standing by, estimated time to destination three hundred and eighty nine days from first jump. All compartments are reporting in readiness status, the expedition is reporting go for jump.” Captain Jyne took hold of the ship's intercom, as he switched some knobs relaying the information to the other ships.

“Sailors, scientists, engineers, ladies and gentlemen, today, we embark on one of mankind's greatest journeys, together we will go down in history as explorers and those who reached our hands into the unknown. It will be a long road, and when we arrive we will be so unimaginably far from home, I will not lie, should a system fail in the void, we will be doomed to forever roam the stars as but passengers aboard a derelict vessel, but that is the payment, that is the risk we must be willing to take for our reward, and what is our reward, to be exact our reward is nothing material nothing of possessive value, our reward will be that of advancing our species, and ensuring that, not the united states, no nation, but we. As a species shall live on. No matter the outcome, this species which originated in a small, sliver of land on a savannah, of a backwater world. Will be forever ingrained among the stars, today as we set forth. We make history for all mankind.”

A lone man without a spacesuit leaned against the back of the quantum anchor station, he raised a wrinkled hand with a white suited collar in a wave, as the expedition raced off.
