Thulean Republic

The successful start to the Republic's immigration program was celebrated by bureaucrats and politicians as the beginning of a new era for the Thulean people. The Thulean people themselves, however, were less enthusiastic, unsure of what to make of their strange new neighbours. Still, it is widely hoped and believed that the new citizens of the Republic will prove their worth on Prima Thule, and become just as necessary to the continued survival and eventual prosperity of the Thuleans as any human. Regardless, efforts to attract foreign colonists to Prima Thule remained an ongoing priority of the Council for Military Governance.

As did seeking ways to improve the domestic growth rate of the Thulean population. While both advancements made in the past year were welcome, neither would not drastically improve the growth rates: resilience was a far less prominent issue for Thulean farms given they were on a rather idyllic planet, and the increased growth rate of the crops would likely not be transformative. It is celebrated as a success by the public relations organs of government, but further investment in agricultural research is deemed desirable and necessary. A focus is put on improving crop yields, and potentially seeing if it was possible to have the crops also produce human-fertility-boosting hormones such as gonadotropin (a hormone which not only increases fertility but increases the likelihood of multiple birth).

GNRH1_structure.png

In a rather different area of Thulean government, the discovery of a habitable planet in a neighbouring sector was met with a degree of elation, even if it was a desert planet. While the Republic lacked the spare population as it was to send on a colonial expedition, it is treated as a solid prospect for future endeavours. The corvette NMR Pèlerin is sent to perform a more in-depth resource survey of the system in which the habitable planet is located.

The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon

9v5lRx1.png

“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it,” said Marcus, reaffirming his grip on his wifes hand and sighing happily.

“Tired of what?” asked Julia, leaning against his shoulder.

“This.” He spread a hand out in front of him, his gaze flowing through the reinforced observation deck of the destroyer FFS Southbound. It felt like they were floating amongst an artificial beehive in space. All around them, dozens upon dozens of ships buzzed about, their metal carapaces filled with goods and materials, working men, women and aliens. And yet, despite their apparently erratic paths, they always congregated around the monolith that sat in front of them like some great beast, feeding off of the offerings of smaller creatures. Nexus, the great trading port housed with the Orimon system. It stretched across the sky, blotting out half of the stars in Marcus’ sights. Already a 7km long monolith, he could see even more sections being worked upon, with lumbering platforms slowly moving their weight around the skeletal growths sticking out of the thriving port like new roots waiting for the life-giving flow of trade to make them grow.

“How many ships passed through here in the last month?” he asked.

Julia lifted up her watch and a small holographic display popped up. “30.157 ships, counting independant traders.”

Marcus turned towards her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close as a smile spread across his face. “And this isn’t even step one. We haven’t even started.”

Far, far away from them, in the depths of GTC-P, sat a tired looking man with a grizzled beard and a antiquated cigarette hanging limply from a swollen lip. He sported a pouchy eye, black and yellow from last night's bar-brawl. It was only 10 in the morning but he already had five empty glasses next to him. He sniffed and rubbed away a little bit of stray white powder from his nostrils. A large television screen covered half of the wall in front of him.

“...Official confirmation that Hephaestus Enterprises and the Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon have opened trading routs, War continues to spread through the south like wildfire, a special interview with T’juul Sum’nuj, the newest great investor from the north and finally, more coverage of the recent gang takeovers in the slums. All of this right now, with the Galactic News Network.”

Jordan Pyle leaned back in his chair and struggled to tie together his frayed thoughts. He had a ship to take in two days, bound for the south. A shipment of refined xylorite for Hephaestus. Apparently, they had a good life down there. Aliens who looked almost like humans but could keep you going all night and even some fluffy bunnies he could bring back for his little Jenny. Until then though, he had two nights left, and neither would be spent sober. “Hey Mike, two more beers!” he yelled across the bar. Life was good in the GTFO.

Trade taxation

A list of taxation rates if given to the northern states. While they take effect immediately, the GTFO welcomes any nation with issues about the taxes to come to the current GTC-P capitol to discuss rates. However, they remind them that for a trading federation these fees are quite low and a necessity. (0AP)

An agreement with a foreign nation leaves the Galactic Trade Federation with a new type of orbital defense cannon. Almost immediately, production begins on creating as many as the military deems necessary and installing them across London Prime. Of course, the main focus is on the city of GTC-P and other points of strategic value. However, with the growing size of the space station, now called Nexus, a handful of these large orbital defense cannons are now installed upon the station itself. This variant of the cannon is labelled ODC-S. (2AP)

Work on Project THEIA continues. (5AP) (9AP invested)

The space station of Nexus continues to grow exponentially, and with every new ship that arrives, more materials pour in to allow two more to take its place. Of course, the GTFO agrees to comply to the northern standards for their space station, as long as they are informed of these standards! While they continue to expand the station, its defences, its trading capabilities and its size, work now begins on making a shipyard connected to Nexus, so that they would no longer have to rely on land-bound ones. The GTFO agrees to rent a generous section of the shipyard to Zyrka for their own business (at a generous price), if they help build it and offer advantageous deals to the GTFO on ship prices. (8AP) (20 invested)

citadel04.jpg

The arrival and birth of about 30.000 new people in the GTFO leads to even more construction in the city of GTC-P. Expanding like veins in a growing body, roads cut through the flat arctic expanses of London Prime and buildings rise about them, the bones of civilization. With the continued arrival of new species, cultural expansion is also required and new sorts of entertainment are built to suit many alien species, as well as aesthetically pleasing neighborhoods for them. Additionally, the foundations are laid in the middle of the city for a MASSIVE project. If the GTC is to become a true nexus of trade for the galaxy, it must have a center of trade. Architects are hired from within the GTC as well as Zyrka, the Skellar Kingdom and requests are even sent to the Ar’gakari. The plan is to build an enormous building, 3km wide and 2km tall to incorporate many of the administrative aspects of the GTC and its dealings with its signatories. Planning begins, as well as the very first aspects of constructions. The Monument to Prosperity will rise. (3AP) (13 invested)

JediTemple00.jpg

With the mitigated success of the previous immigration campaign, the GTC begins to pour in more resources into it. Advertisements begin to pop up not only around the GTC, but also in other nations that would allow it. Additionally, they begin to appear on respectable websites that allow such ads in the Northern Internet. The BIT begins to spread word as far as they can reach about the quality of life in the GTFO, the chances of fortune and the potential for profit. (1AP)

At home, as well as internationally, the GTFO advertises an experimental section of their growing University in which psionic powers will be tested and knowledge of psionic capabilities expanded upon. They promise a safe workplace, with a VERY enticing payment, as well as the possibility of settling in the more luxurious neighborhoods in GTC-P for those psionics who respond and play the whole experiment out. In particular, they seem to be looking for very capable psionics no matter where they are now, or what their origin. (1AP)

THE GTFO ASKS THE NORTHERN NATIONS WHEN THEY WOULD BE PREPARED TO OFFICIALIZE THE GCMTNT.

Player Relations

Trade begins with Hephaestus Enterprises, and a part of all taxated xylorite in Nexus is shipped to H.E’s own ports in the south. After it went through the highly advanced Ka’Cezh xylorite refinery, of course!

A group of scientists with access to the northern internet depart from the GTFO and arrive in the Asgard Republic shortly after, to aid with the research going on upon the surface. They seem to be quite happy to analyze the Firstborn ruins for language, cultural artifacts and excerpts of their history. Indeed, it seems like it is both a cultural mission of learning as well as one of scientific advancements. What artifacts they are allowed to ship back to the GTFO, they take.

The GTFO dispatches a group of experts to go on the mission to the new galaxy with the USA.

General Activity:

The Vixen was accepted graciously into the fleet taking it’s rightful place as pride of the UCI fleet. It was to be given to a captain who participated in the first battle against the Kalronians, Leahy. Fighters were quickly loaded on board after a few weeks and shortly after the crew began training onboard to increase their efficiency with her systems. Fighters began flying in formation and practicing space combat with drones to hone their skills before they enter into war against any threat thrown their way. Frigates practiced new formations and escorting patterns to protect their new carrier, the size comparison left the crews in awe. Meanwhile the upgraded LAS program was installed into hud in the UCI’s arsenal augmententing their military into a more accurate and cunning force.

(Cooperative Fleet open fires on Kalronian Battlegroup)

After spending six months training their crews and preparing for their new doctrine the UCI granted Leahy command of his own carrier strike group. It would become the standard makeup of the UCI carrier fleet consisting of a single carrier or support carrier, two light cruisers, three destroyers, six frigates, and a multitude of corvettes. This fleet would be deployed in theory on long tours outside of the homeland to do battle or project force when necessary. It's a momentous step for the fleet as it undergoes a phase of understanding and maturity, it’s a good time to be a member of the military. Meanwhile as this training and construction occurs, the Kalronian front has seen immense progress over the year. The battle for a Kalronian colony is a success but fighting is still continuing.

The space battle was long and bloody, many ships were lost due to the Kalronian technological superiority but the tenacity of humanity rang true. The UCI would have been dealt a staggering blow to its navy losing a great deal of frigates, a destroyer and a corvette. Captain Bellson, the acting commander of the Cooperative fleet fielded them to the best of his ability in unison with the UCF commander. The footage of this battle having been recorded by a far off allied support carrier would be saved and analyzed by combat specialist. Seeing that many rounds of their kinetic weaponry don’t even find home they purchase laser weaponry from their cooperative brothers and began research on improving their kinetic weaponry. The Kalronian accuracy is immensely punishing and in an attempt to reduce their accuracy rating by creating ECM’s on their spaceships much like the old naval ships of old.

People's Agrarian Republic

Tremors ripple through the society of the P.A.R. A furious General Klinghoffer had returned from the Aurora discussions. The revelations she brings back were not quite welcome. Other human nations were looking to the P.A.R as an enigma. Stories spread of the foul language flying between nations. It would seem mannerism and quality of life would not be the winning champion. Klinghoffer soon sets to work, sorting out all the new projects her military has started.

On the highest floor, a meeting of the military minds take place. Arrayed around the room, their focus was on one man. He wore foppish robes, and had an acolyte swinging incense. He was the purported high priest of the cult of Chaal. He had come to plea to the military to lend their support. It was quite well known Bianka and her inner circle were Chaal supporters. However he did not quite expect the unmasked hostility.

"You do not know half of what you purport, and the half you do know is skewed." Klinghoffer begins. She angrily stands and strolls to the window. "Even now the galaxy is out there. It is churning with war, a pipeline of death and power. But it's all just the same. All of this is circles, within circles. Eventually it'll all spin us into a death spiral. Something is coming, or going to happen. I wish I could tell everyone. But I have no idea what is at the bottom of all these machinations. Chaal is not some goddess to control and worship. She is something much more, and less. Something beautiful. And this is the main reason I allowed this audience. From now on this false Chaal worshipping will be purged."

Pamphlets of this speech are distributed across the P.A.R lands. People were starting to understand what she actually was. And they were starting to listen to Klinghoffer's rhetoric. They all could agree. Something bad will almost certainly happen. Many have been scared into silence, sticking to comforting routine. But staying like they were was going to lead to stagnation.

The majority of the military was of the new philosophy. They truly believed Chaal to be a herald to times of great importance. And they knew that it would not be easy. The best option was to prepare, and survive. And so the P.A.R military -always a separate entity- does a total reorganization. With Klinghoffer at the top, Die Ritterstrahlen is founded. Their purpose is to train themselves into a weapon. They expect that before their colony is dust, they will be called upon. Be it by the herald Chaal, or some other ethereal force.

The majority of the Germans found themselves without jobs. However this was not bad, merely all the lowly jobs were filled with robotics. With this new 'Die Ritterstrahlen' influence began to spread. Humans begin to join the army in a flood. They truly believe Klinghoffer, and want to ensure their colonies survival. In government voting takes places as the majority decides how to react to the military advances.

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

170px-Coat_of_arms_of_the_Sovereign_Mili

The red sun over Silicien beat down on Sir Robert as he stood on the terraced defensive platform of the colony's headquarters. His promotion had come with his colonization - from mere Citizen level parents to Knight Third Class, First Degree. High above him a Maltese frigate orbited the planet, and in front of him a scene almost reminiscent of the pictures of the frontier towns of the 2070's sprawled in front of him, short three story buildings beginning to branch out from the base.

To his left stood a glass-and-metal table, in the dated modern style. Rhodium had long since started using the galactic era style, and so the furniture built right after their colonization was transferred to Silicien. Economic, considering the factories were all based in Rhodium to begin with. His rations rested on a sleek black tray, chicken parm with purified water and Xobalius rainbow fruit jello for dessert. He hated the jello, which was served every day with a cap that said "Made with real Rainbow Fruit!" in neon colors. It was an essential nutrient supplement, so it was served every day and some version of the fruit in every knight's meal. When he was citizen-class his family only used their denarim on rainbow fruit for celebrations, like his knighting, and the state only provided sliced and canned versions of the fruit every half a month. When he went back to Rhodium for the holidays he'd bring some to his family. Halfway through his meal, though, he received an order through his transmitter. He tapped lightly on the glass screen, which lit up and was immediately filled with a promotion and notice of transfer to one of the colony ships being built.

Maybe he'd bring the fruit back next year.

Andorra La Nueva: Capital Building

A young man in a trench coat dashed through the hallways of the capital building, with papers dramatically flying from his grasp as he ran. He'd gain a few disdainful glares from the janitors as they picked up the papers littered all over to realize that they were blank, and were dropped purely for the dramatic effect. As he approached the meeting room he threw off his coat and slammed the few actually important papers onto the long table, exclaiming, "Leaders of Andorra! I have some critical information that you must hear immediately!"

"Yes, we know, that is why we are here Fernando. You sent us all a message saying exactly that." She paused, sitting up straight to see the very long paper trail that was left in his wake, "But were all the theatrics really necessary?"

"Hey, I thought the paper was a nice touch, made it feel like I was in a movie or something."

Fernando was clearly excited that he gained the favor of one of the princes as he smiled broadly.

"How are you taking up for him! He made such a big mess! The cleaners are just gonna have a big fit, and..."

"That's enough, we're wasting time with this idle jabbering. It's just a bunch of paper, and we have much more important things to discuss." Prince José turned calmly over to Fernando, "Now, Advisor of Defense, what is it that is so urgent?"

"Well, it's quite simple actually. Our scanners tell us that there have been some space shuttles of unknown origin routinely passing through the system. Our best guess is that they are cargo or passenger ships, but we cannot say for sure as they do not seem to resemble any known design for human-made space vessels.

"So.." Prince Pablo relaxedly scratched his chin in thought, "..Aliens? I guess?"

Isabella was wide-eyed with shock and a hint of terror, "How are you so calm about this! We are talking about aliens here! Brain sucking, laser zapping, parasite spreading aliens! This is a major threat to Human kind!"

Prince José was similarly shocked, but attempted in vain to maintain his relaxed appearance, "W-well! We clearly need to make contact with these new... neighbors? Yeah, and uh, make sure they aren't any threat to Andorra!"

"My thoughts exactly sir," Fernando, already having coped with the shock of the situation, had a serious disposition about him, "And I recommend that we make a batch of fighter planes to supplement our existing forces just cause... you know... just in case."

"Sounds like a good plan, and by not making too many we don't run the risk of them thinking we plan on going to war." Pablo clapped his hands, and picked up the memo in front of him as he said, "Well, that's done. Let's move onto the next thing on the list... let's see... oh, looks like the colonial freighter found absolutely nothing particularly useful on P-2."

"Oh, so we're done with that alien thing, yeah? I guess I'll just be on my way then..."

"Nah, just stick around. These guys are probably too scared out of their socks to be all that helpful.

"Oh, oka..."

Isabella hastily interrupted, "Hey! I'm not intimidated! I bet you're intimidated and just blowing it off on us so you don't look bad! Yeah, that's what I thought, you coward!"

"Calm down Isabella, we don't need to be demeaning each other right now," he'd pause, looking up into the sky from the window, looking for aliens, "A-after all, we need to finish the meeting quickly to reassure the people everything is alright."

"Yeah, so anyway we probably don't want to waste any more time with this sector since most of the planets probably have similar mineral compositions to P-2. Maybe we should have them look 'west' of our area for deposits of valuable ore."

"Yeah," José would look back down from the sky, "Maybe send some more folks in the S.S. Santa Maria to help search a little quicker."

"Yeah... sounds smart," she said, clearly making an effort to calm down, "Also, our scientists reported that they are in the early concept phase of the development for the advanced camouflage plates."

"A secret project! That sounds pretty neat!" Fernando chimed in, "It should have a cool code name though like maybe... Operation Hidden In Plain Sight, or Project H.I.P.S.!"

Prince Pablo laughed heartily, "Oh! I love it! That is just hilarious! Let's use it."

Prince José chuckled lightly, "Yeah, it is a pretty smart name, but only the concept phase? I mean, I'm not a scientist or anything, but maybe they could set up a network between the different plates. Each plate would show a different part of a programmed scenery, and the only thing worth researching would probably be a high definition display that could look like the real thing."

"Yeah, but what about radars, or whatever else like that? One of those things could probably still detect an object like that, so what you're suggesting would just be invisible to the naked eye."

"Oh, yeah true..." he thought for a moment, "Maybe the plates could also absorb those radar detector beams, or however that works, and it would appear like nothing was there."

"I don't know how possible that is, but I'll mention it to the scientists anyways."

"Well, I guess that's it then? Class dismissed."

As everyone walked out, Fernando tapped Prince Pablo on the shoulder and asked him, "How were you so calm when I made to alien announcement? Everyone else freaked out."

"Oh, it just takes a little bit for these things to sink in for me. I'm probably gonna have a nervous breakdown in a half an hour."

Summary

AP Usage

Research into advancing camouflage technology is continued, and Prince José's idea is suggested to the scientists. The project is re-named Project H.I.P.S. as well (2 AP).

Due to suspicion regarding the unidentified spacecraft that constantly go by the system, a squadron of 100 fighters are constructed as a precaution (1 AP).

The colonial freighter and colony ship are sent to the cube of space directly to the left of the Andorran territory to continue the search for a substantial resource of ores (1AP).

A discreet message requesting identification of the unidentified ships routinely flying by the system is sent to hopefully make a peaceful first-impression (0 AP).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was January of the New Year on the planet of Aurora. Though its alpine climate was chilly at that time (more than usual, anyway) the people were in a pleasant mood. The Hephaestus “merger” had many of the new employees worried, but after a week surprisingly little had changed. Many of the most pessimistic people thought they’d be relegated to salt-mines or sweat-shops, but Jim Bean appeared to be nothing but magnanimous during his time administrating Aurora. Other HERMES agents kept local comm-lines open to answer questions and aid with the transition.

All government property had been auctioned off, and re-invested into Aurora by Administrator Bean. This had the effect of boosting the planet’s economy, raising wages, and just improving life in general. The new subsidiaries quickly took control of their growing assets and gleefully bought and sold all they could. However, there was a feeling of grim foreboding in their actions. All their advertising spoke about “supporting Auroran business” or “buying local.” They played on people’s emotions and loyalties but for no expressed reason. What were they afraid of? What could these unshackled industrial titans be afraid of?

Above Aurora, the great space-station quietly milled away its time, inactive, save for the occasional Solarin construction team. Two servicemen (now initiate Enforcers) sat quietly observing the myriad of scanners that covered the walls in front of them. Suddenly, a spike on their monitors—a ship had arrived in the system.

Before they could hail them, another popped into view. Then another. And then five others. A hundred others. Hundreds of ships, all from the same place--Hephaestus.

“Is it an invasion?! The Keerim?! The Corruptors?!” cried one.

“No, they’re civilian ships.” Said the other.

The comms blared into life, as dozens of vessels hastily requested permission to descend to the planet’s surface. As they tried to process the few who had the courtesy to call in, the rest simply bypassed the station, and hurtled down to the surface.

On the ground, the Auroran employees looked into the sky, and saw a hundred fiery streaks blaze against the atmosphere. Ships landed everywhere they could; when the landing-pads were full, they called property owners in order to purchase more space. Some simply opened their cargo holds, and hordes of briefcase-toting business-people jumped on to the ground risking injury or death.

They race into shops, buildings, and even towards people on the street, seeking to buy property. Ravenous marketeers practically frothed at the mouth as they gazed around a whole new market, untapped and untouched by the outside. Like rabid dogs, they ran around jostling at every piece of marketable infrastructure in an attempt to assuage price. It was something that had not been seen since the purchase of New Zealand in 2080.

The Acquisition Frenzy had begun.

-The populace of the former Technocracy are introduced to the Race. The great economic war between the Hephaestus subsidiaries pours into the closest colonies, quickly overtaking many local businesses and industries. Though it’ll still require a sentient to indirectly control group actions, they are being re-designed for greater individual autonomy, tactical awareness, and combat flexibility. It will be known simply as the Tithonus Mk II. (-4AP from Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon)

Sirens blared. They echoed through every hallway, slow haunting sirens that sent chills up one’s spine. For a long moment after they began, hundreds of eyes simply stared at the ceiling, in surprise. This was unexpected, after all. But the second of stillness was over as soon as it began, and suddenly the ship was alive with frenzied motion.

Gat’karon was not among those who waited in that moment of stillness. Sirens meant battle, and the first officer’s place in a battle was on the bridge, not speaking with the engineering crew. As soon as the sound started, he wordlessly saluted the primary core chief and turned on his heel. By the time a booming voice over the PA system called the crew to action stations, the commander was already sprinting towards the nearest lift. He wasn’t alone for long: this level held the mess hall, and after a hundred meters the hallway was swamped with other Ka’cezh, all in just as much of a hurry.

No matter. At a shout from their commander, they all made a hole, and Gat’karon sprinted ahead into the first lift. It leaped upward with a quiet hum, and he and the other sailors inside were able to enjoy a couple moments of peace...or they would, if the sirens were not still ongoing. A slight shudder vibrated through the ship, and the men around Gat’karon began to look visibly worried. He was too, of course: who wouldn’t be, away from their station and with who-knows-what happening to the ship? Still, it was an officer’s duty to mask his emotions, and Gat’karon always did his duty.

As the lift opened and the soldiers within stepped out, another shudder hit, this one big enough to nearly knock the commander off his feet. He steadied himself against a wall, caught his breath, and kept running. The hallways began to clear out as he approached the main bridge: like him, most were reaching their posts, and he was able to move faster. Nevertheless, there were two smaller shudders before he reached the end of the run, nearly out of breath. No time to rest. He tapped the console to open the bridge door, and stepped in.

He was immediately greeted by the blinding flash of a cruiser exploding, perhaps a mere kilometer off the Ly’rezh Bant’s bow. It clearly wasn’t a Ka’cezh ship, and yet there were no cheers, and Gat’karon soon saw why. As the warship disintegrated and the flash faded, the rest of its fleet became visible, and it numbered in the hundreds.

The captain looked back as he entered, and gave him only a brief nod, before turning back to the viewscreen. “Good to have you, Commander,” he said, facing in the other direction. “As you can see, we have a bit of a problem.” Another shudder hit the bridge as a Corrupter destroyer fired all weapons at once in a desperate salvo, while it too was torn to pieces by the precise strikes of lasers.

ZYOxB9WRHcz9eoUTmW9F6VFqUx0FWhrlNUYCpgzX6jAlCeNVa7V2gKyfab_S0q3ZDR6gTV1z_FQujhuPnjocXFHCxKk6VE1lVmRqcBciyWWImEA7_dGpKZJIBeSvh6uceo-FETEU

“Minor damage to dorsal hull, captain!” called a lieutenant towards the back of the bridge. “We’re down to single-phased shields.” Captain Huang merely nodded.

“Tell Engineering we don’t have much time before we’ll need those layers back. Commander, take a minute to assess the situation. I think we’ll survive for that long.”

“Aye, captain,” Gat’karon replied, quickly stepping to the console in the middle of the room, which showed a holographic projection of the entire area to go with the view out the front portal. He sucked in a breath: the position wasn’t good. The planet designated J-328-I was the largest Corrupter stronghold for dozens of lightyears, and the xylorite deposits it held were in a strategic enough location for refueling that simply bombarding the surface of the world was deemed counterproductive. Instead, when the fleet secured the system several hours ago they had begun a full invasion.

Apparently the decision was ill-advised. Wherever this fleet had come from, it had caught them right in the midst of that invasion. There were already over a million Ka’cezh troops planetside, and now their orbital support was outnumbered and caught off guard. As far as the commander could tell, there would be barely enough time to get them back on the ships, if even that.

“I thought we had run them out of the sector!” said Gat’karon, hurrying to the captain’s side as a massive railgun volley smashed against the battleship. The second layer of shields sputtered back to life, only to fall once again as a new challenger appeared: a heavy cruiser, trailed by a full complement of destroyers and frigates.

“Apparently someone made a mistake.” Jie replied, gritting his teeth. The battlefield was alive now: in every direction, the flash of lasers and the light of explosions highlighted ships being torn apart as the Ka’cezh struggled to hold their ground. Towards the planet surface, hundreds of shuttles frantically tried to ferry soldiers back on board their transports.

“We can’t fight that on our own, captain,” offered Gat’karon, gesturing at the Corrupter strike group bearing down on them. “Not with weak shields and no screen.”

Jie glanced at the holographic projection at the center of the bridge, and was forced to agree. The Ly’rezh Bant’s support group had all been either destroyed or forced to retreat in the initial attack. He nodded. “Pull back and reform with the battle line. Three-quarters reverse fusion power, and concentrate our fire on that cruiser.” The enemy didn’t cease their charge as the great warship retreated: if anything, it intensified. Even as major chunks of the cruiser’s hull were carved off, its guns kept firing, and the destroyers which accompanied it rocketed forward in a pincer motion.

l0srfUnv3gBxQS0ezBnK-KvBBea2spWLwNSVDg3BF-3HwIV0B6ItUPYdP8Ks5wVfS7WFLZLfq61HH_jU0X4CsjJRHyfpbPyiT2YiSA5xOYsptZOTIRz4VWbCgfUghUfOxN_6hLWn

The Corruptors were too slow, but just barely. The destroyers, together with several frigates, were able to pierce the Ly’rezh Bant’s shields and disable one of its thrusters, and much more damage would have been done if the battleship hadn’t regrouped with a larger force of Ka’cezh ships. With their combined power, they were able to drive off the attackers, while the battleship finished off the Corruptor cruiser.

“Well done,” said the captain, after listening to the damage report. “We can hold here, at least for a moment. Get the shields up.” His voice was calm and collected, but Gat’karon noticed him gripping the back of the command chair as he stood by it. His knuckles were white.

The ship’s guns never stopped firing, as there were no shortage of targets, but with proper support none of them came close, at least for a moment. The shields flickered back to life, layer after layer, and the men on the bridge enjoyed a few seconds of peace. But elsewhere, the battle was not going so well. The Ka’cezh were being pushed back in almost every area. From their position, Gat’karon watched as another battleship and its strike force was cut off and annihilated, taking with it dozens of Corruptor warships. Even so, the enemy swallowed the loss, as yet more warped into the system. For an hour the battle raged, and the situation looked worse and worse.

“Captain!” called the communications lieutenant from the back of the bridge. “The admiral’s ordered a full retreat. We’re to regroup with the fleet at system J-312.”

At this, Jie whirled around. “What?!” He gestured at the battlefield projection. “Most of the veterans are all still on the planet! How does he expect to retake the system without them?”

“Warships are equally important, captain,” said Gat’karon in response. “It will be far worse if the entire fleet perishes here.”

Jie scowled, and studied the projection for a long moment. “How long to get those men off the ground?”

“Thirty minutes, sir, at least. Who knows how many Corruptors will be here by then?” Gat’karon’s objection was halfhearted. Ka’cezh navy doctrine was clear in the role of the first officer in a battle: to provide counterpoints and play devil’s advocate to the captain’s reasoning. But in this case, retreat was asinine. The men on J-328-I were the best marines in the fleet. Without them, further planetary assaults would be drawn-out affairs at best and impossible at worst.

“Signal the ships around us. We can buy thirty minutes.” Jie’s decision came with a feeling of firm resolve, and his hands balled into fists. “Set a course for the planet, and let’s try to avoid the worst fighting. We need to be at full combat potential when we arrive.”

The commander did so, and once more the Ly’rezh Bant began to glide forward, this time accompanied by a full support fleet of smaller ships, left with little choice but to follow the capital ship as it moved out of position. All around, the Ka’cezh fleet pulled back, but the strike fleet charged forward, toward the troop transports orbiting the planet.

w5cyMzsZNyIGOKF2lD_IAiLeS3SYnju8RN7z9i-qneYCnRNmOCUonuIWNV-WEF6nDCC2yLmX7tBT8feoUU3eHopN47J4WbM4dGIFmFJny776IcSLA3omWp2d4Me2j-DVLJvUcE9G

Some of the commanders around the area had had the same idea, and now were completely cut off from the main force, desperately trying to fend off the endless horde of corrupted attackers. As they came closer, the crew could clearly watch as two light cruisers were overwhelmed and disintegrated before the onslaught. Through it all, the hundreds of shuttles continued to ferry troops up from the surface.

“Looks like we’re here just in time,” mused Jie. “Ready all laser batteries.”

“Fighters approaching, captain!”

“Launch countermeasures!” shouted Gat’karon, without a moment’s hesitation, and not a moment too soon. Soon the battleship’s missiles intercepted hundreds of fighters moving to a killing blow on the beleaguered defenders, and the swarm melted in trizendrium fire. Mere seconds later, the Ly’rezh Bant and all the ships accompanying it opened fire, and smashed into the Corruptors’ back as they tried to surround the transports.

It took ten minutes to clear the area of enemies, and only one more for them to show up again. Before the captains of the damaged and desperate ships could even transmit a proper thanks, swarms of corvettes attacked from every direction, losing many of their number but hounding the defenders into a smaller and smaller ball. They were far from help now: in the distance, Gat’karon could see flashes of light as his countrymen began to jump out of the system.

“Inform the transports that once they are at capacity they are to donate the use of their shuttles to filling up the others. Nobody leaves until everyone does.” Jie took a seat in the command chair, tightly gripping the armrests. “How many men still on the planet?”

“Approximately two hundred and thirty thousand, captain,” replied the communications lieutenant, and Jie sighed. An hour ago there had been nearly a million. They were almost there.

The shuttles continued to fly, and the corvettes laid down a constant hail of low-intensity kinetic bombardment as they searched for a weakness. The Ka’cezh defenders were arranged in an outward facing sphere now, and occasionally a destroyer would venture out to make a dent in the small ships, only to be harried back into position by sheer numbers. Still, they were holding...for now. It looked ridiculous, really, so few warships trying to protect so many massive transports. But they had no choice. The rest of the fleet had left by now, leaving only these few to fend for themselves.

Gat’karon glanced at the battlefield hologram again, and his heart skipped a beat. The corvettes were merely wearing them down. The rest of the Corruptor fleet was still out there, and it had not forgotten about them. Even now, a full attack force was inbound, and at the head of it traveled an almost-undamaged dreadnought.

“One hundred and eighty thousand men planetside, captain!” called the lieutenant, and Jie glanced to his first officer with worry on his face. The evacuation had slowed. Twice that number should have been brought up in that amount of time. “Corvettes are attacking the shuttles, sir,” the communications officer explained.

“Deploy all light ships to protect the shuttle line,” came the captain’s response. “We’ll just have to hope we’re up to the task of holding off…that.” As if on queue, the opening salvos of the approaching Corruptor warships smashed against the outer layer of the battleship’s shields. Great projectiles, meters across, hammered away at them and earned return volleys of lasers from the Ka’cezh.

The enemy came closer and closer, though the Ly’rezh Bant gave as good as it got. When they were within range, Jie ordered the last of the missile tubes emptied, and though most fell prey to enemy point defense, many found their targets and wreaked havoc. But still, they came, and the dreadnought locked onto its target. It was impossible to miss when the monster fired: the entire surface of the outer shield was now permanently lit up with impacts, but each time one of those projectiles hit, a full layer went down with a spectacular crackle. The fourth shield phase barely lasted a minute after the onslaught began.

ZtKGTbvBgtInObPd7C1INmsd8eCe50Lh0szsJAC6h8qVzKSuT_jEBSsrbVOB-b14cODcidykTVFaoAxTO29ECBAFUd4fXLFUVyoqe1fpa-JraJu0-vc96xPMubZyD02-awrVU_T2

“One hundred thousand men, sir!” The Corruptors were on them now, and the battleship was forced to turn much of its firepower into protecting the ships around it from flanking light ships, rather than defending itself. Its main guns fired on the dreadnought’s weapon systems, and they fell silent, partially disabled. They stood no chance of destroying the thing, but perhaps they could buy some time. Nevertheless, there were many more ships besides the leviathan, and their attacks never ceased. The third shield phase soon broke down, and the stress in the room increased palpably.

“Sixty thousand men!” Most of the transports were full now, but yet they stayed, their shuttles helping to move more soldiers off the planet. Jie could only imagine the chaos that must be taking place down there. Another swarm of fighters appeared from within the Corruptor storm, and though some fell to missiles from other defending ships, the battleship was powerless to stop them as they fell upon the second layer of shields. In the Corruptors’ frenzy, some of them even died to friendly fire, but there were always more, and they did their job to great effect. The shield was shattered, and the enemy pressed so close now that it was all the Ka’cezh could do to stop them passing through.

“Thirty thousand!”

“Commander, prepare to jump,” called Jie instantly, as if he had been waiting for this moment. Gat’karon nodded and hurried to the main console, where he entered his authorization code and scanned his palm to prepare the retreat. “Not long now…” muttered Jie.

The last of the shuttles fled from predatory corvettes into the cargo bays of the transports, and soon their captains were informing the battleship of their desire to leave. The request was granted instantly: there were only moments left before the entire defense collapsed. Bright flashes appeared as each freighter jumped to freedom, but Gat’karon could not yet breath a sigh of relief. Not when the only view out the viewport was explosions engulfing the last shield.

“Inform what’s left of the fleet that they should go now,” called the captain, as the ship reversed into the space left by departing vessels behind it. “And dedicate all our fire to keeping them alive. We’re going to make it out of this, they might not.”

More flashes came from every direction as their comrades jumped, but the Ly’rezh Bant held out. It was surrounded, outgunned, and outnumbered, but it stood its ground…at least until a colossal, resounding explosion smashed the last layer of its shields. When the fiery debris cleared, Gat’karon looked out the viewport...directly into the still-functional cannons of the Corruptor dreadnought, practically on top of the battleship.

“JUMP!” yelled the captain, and Gat’karon pressed the button. Before the dreadnought so much as took aim, space tore and shifted apart entirely, and the nightmarish enemy was replaced with peace, safety, and the company of allies.

It was all Gat’karon could do not to collapse into sleep at that very moment. The rest of the bridge crew seemed to be thinking the same, and the captain slumped back in his chair, his eyelids closing. The commander looked down at the Han captain with concern. The losses from the prolonged action had not been insignificant, and they had come as a result of direct disobedience to orders. Still, for now there was no reason to stop him from resting. The consequences of his actions, and the rest of the war, could wait.

The street racing in Xin Xi’an comes to an abrupt end, as the Jinyiwei discovers the community to be linked to certain criminal enterprises, and cracks down with brutal efficiency. While most of the complicit are sent to forced labor camps, one individual is the son of none other than Major Shi Yimu, a leading force in the secret police. The army soon gets wind of this, and rather than let him be spared, they push their case hard. Young Shi Feng is soon drafted and sent to the military-led tundra planet of Taiyuan for training.

On Proteum Davun, Dai Hanying turns 15 years old, and under the tutelage of Chaal and the Archivar her powers grow, along with her knowledge. She soon finds a talent for music, and studies both history and science. A common sight around the capitol building, she soon gets to know the children of leading Protorians, spending her days socializing and her nights studying.

Some of the merchants of Huizhou, in a fit of patriotism, went ahead with a wager on the Aurora lottery in the Dominion’s favor during the last year. Their losses were so large that the ramifications throughout the economy even show up in the national budget. Each complicit individual is soon stripped of their remaining property and sent to work the rice fields for the rest of their miserable lives. The military in charge of the city calls it “a shameful display, unfit for true Han and no doubt the result of association with the filthy Wairen.”

Even as its corporate elite are plucked from their orderly towers, Huizhou’s streets below begin to settle down. For two years, a major street war has been taking place between the Luen and the Wo Hop To within the dense hive that makes up most of the city. At last, several high-level Luen lieutenants are cut down during an offensive, and the triad falls back while its rival licks its wounds. The criminal world of the Dominion’s only port city is at peace, for now...or so it seems.

Meanwhile, a colony ship bearing three thousand Han departs to the south of the Shaanxi system, to settle on the xylorite-rich alpine world found there. They christen their new home the Hunan system, and name the planet Jianshan, after the majestic mountains which cover its entire surface, ranging from titanic snow-covered peaks to green outcroppings in the lowlands.

Through it all, xylorite pokes from the cliffs, and the new settlers begin to contemplate how to extract it...

The Solarin Federation

Year 2138 Terra, Sol Colony, Sol’s Rebirth System

dcc6577db28e32421bae41ae2d7134d7.png

The Prometheus’ engines burned bright as she left port. “Bring her about Helmsman.” The Captain ordered. “Aye sir.” he replied as the ship turned making it’s way clear of the small amount of traffic as Space around the Shipyard was exclusive to Military Vessels.

1326722.jpg

This year the Shipyards were undergoing heavy construction as the Federation began to expand it’s Capacity immensely.

Sir Councillor Uri’s shuttle is on approach and is requesting to come aboard.” The Comms officer announced. The Captain nodded “Bring em aboard, Hangar 2.

The shuttle approached and landed in the 2nd Hangar Bay. After landing, Chancellor Uri, Director Usenko and Rond Trazur enter the Hangar bay being greeted by a Marine “Welcome aboard Sirs, please follow me.” he would escort the group to the bridge which was alive with activity as the ship went through its first flight throughout the local system.

Captain Harrow is right through here.” he would move out of their way as the trio made their way onto the bridge

Hello Chancellor, Director..uhm Sir.” he nods to the three. Vira smiles “How is the new cruiser Captain?” she asks

Doing just great Madam Director, Engines are at one hundred percent, weapons fully tested and ready to go. Are we expecting a deployment soon?” he asks

Uri shakes his head “Unfortunately no, recently we lost our two Corvettes Hopper and Spiderbait. We need another year before we deploy our fleets once again. For now we need them here at Terra. The Federation has too much going on to leave home defenseless.

The Free Human Technocracy

“Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” - Paul Tournier

_HAox3QeyTszo2w63MzEeTe1KhSbWJE4znozJo-WnPAa-Kzy0POADmrI6wb5swVXXhIYuonyfH8-tEoPiwDwkGeM-tdcAOxYnLiSwLiqkNYQmsJEost8-HQnUD3IcFirWjSu33kR

Viyter was turning into a bustling planet, industry was booming and business was beginning to blossom. Neon signs lit up the streets, with new businesses popping up and Kyber Kore expanding. Ben and his son Johnny Walker strolled through the midnight street, Johnny just turned 16. Johnny was turning into quite the young man, he followed after his father; with the tall, athletic frame. Then he got his mother’s blonde hair and green eyes. He also got her personality, out-going and people loving. Ben also regretted sending him out with Jim Bean, the HE lead-sales person who so inspired Johnny to become one and he dreamed of changing the nation into that of one focused on making money.

“Dad! Look at this place, imagine if it was bustling with more businesses. Foreign investors and businesses! More business means a better life for all of us! Come on just give it a thought Dad!.” Johnny looked at his dad, with the sparkle of a dream in his eye.

“Johnny it is impractical right now. You know the current situation of our neighbors and the southern Galaxy as a whole. We just lost two ships in combat with the Kalorian purgers. If we decide to go for a more peaceful business approach. They could walk over here and stomp us out. Right now we have to focus on our survival. Not profits.” A stern, fatherly look formed over Ben’s face as if he was trying to convince his son that the idea of a business run nation is a horrible one.

“Dad but look at Hephaestus Enterprises! They are the biggest human nation after the successful merger of Aurora! The GTC is booming as well, the connection between the northern and southern galaxies is a genius idea and floods them with freighters from all over the galaxy.” Johnny obviously was not going to give up on this idea with his dad.

Ben looked at his son’s face, the neon signs reflected off his oily cheeks. Johnny’s bright smile stretched ear to ear. Ben could not just destroy his only child’s dream. He let out a deep sigh, and looked down towards the sidewalk. “I’ll think about. Johnny and when I say i’ll think about it, that means it’s unlikely to happen.” He sighed again, “But I will think about it. For you.” He looked back up at his son and a big smile formed on his face as the pair walked down the streets of Orion. “Let’s grab a steak. This place his open 24/7..” The pair ducked off into a famous steakhouse on Viyter..

======================================

Two weeks later, Ben was scrambling around his apart trying to find the package he had hidden away to surprise his son. “YES!” he let out an excited yell, “Found it, thank you lord.” he laughed as his son walked in through the door to his home office. Johnny looked nervous, like a little child who had been in trouble one too many times.

“Hey d-dad what is this for?” Johnny placed a finger in his mouth and started chewing on his finger nails, a quick examination of his hands would show he does this quite a bit.

Ben laughed, “No need to be nervous Johnny! Remember two weeks ago when I said that I would look into the business investment you told me to look into?”

Johnny nodded his head, his eyes lighting up, he removed his fingers from his mouth. “Yeah dad what about it?”

Ben would open up the package presenting him with pictures and data points of the previously scouted out habitable planet in the neighbouring sector, Johnny’s eyes lit up as he saw the pictures. “We will be colonizing this within the next year. With that, I will be putting Logan and you in charge of the planet. Logan will handle the political stance of it, and you the business. As I want it to be a trade/vacation planet. Understood?”

“Yes sir..” Johnny got up from his chair and bolted down the hallway to his room, jittering with excitement. The visions of a grand tradestation starting to form, as the location was perfect as it fed into the mouth of the LC. Making it a perfect station to refuel, dock, and sell wares at. The dream was becoming a reality for young Johnny.

A battle takes place between the Karass Rebels and the Eadni Navy. The outcome is one of success, with the Eadni Navy proving its capabilities to their Karass allies. Mass Drivers, as it turns out, proved incredibly effective during the battle and ripped apart most of the ships they encountered. Such astounding success makes the Eadni reluctant to share this technology outside of their own Navy.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

40k_imperial_aquila__transparent__by_fug

Location: Novam Domum, streets of the Imperial center

Through the streets of Novam Domum music and happy cries of both children and adults were heard as the troops proudly with or without power armor walked through the streets. In general there was a great mood among the people at the news that had just been gained not hours ago. The Colonial militia had accepted to be annexed into the IRM for more protection from any outside threats. From his balcony at the Imperial palace the emperor Alexander Varellion looked down with a smile almost plastered onto his face.

This sudden news would propel the IRM into greater heights then thought before and speed up many of his plans. To his left and right stood Commander Dante and Admiral Winters, the hammer and anvil of the military.

Alexander then spoke to the both of them "I don't think I could have imagined this just a few years ago that this would happen, it was all just chance but we took it with open hands and now we are one of the major human factions in the galaxy."

The commander and Admiral both nodded in agreement "Yes this is truly a great asset, and like you said it makes us more of a force to be reckoned with. It has been expected that an almost 20-30% increase of government spending will now be available to invest into projects." Commander Dante would say.

"That is true but there is a matter I think I should address." Admiral Winters said and the emperor and Commander looked at what the admiral was going to say.

"I think we should help the Solarin federation with their shipyard ?"

"And why would we do that Admiral ?" The emperor would question

"Their shipyard is much more progressed then ours and has the capacity to produce bigger and more advanced ships and it would be cheaper to contribute a few of our resources to help them and not have to make them ourselves."

Hearing this the emperor would ponder for a few moments.

"Mhm you have a point there but we shouldn't be too reliant on any nation outside of our own, still I can see the point and agree with it, we should make the investment and start putting resources into the special projects."

"Now back to the matter at hand." the emperor would say as the parade came to an end in front of the Imperial palace and the emperor stood up to speak.

"My people, we have faced many hardships these years, from the near destruction of human civilization when we lost our original home of Novam Domum to here. We have had to live through harsh conditions especially in the early days with no infrastructures and the harsh days and nights of the endless desert planet."

"Yet look at what we have achieved. We have turned this planet from an empty desert into a green planet with thriving cities in which proud Imperials live."

"Earth may have died but we have grown strong and now we have grown stronger once again with the Colonial Militia joining us after them being attacked by the Kalronians. I am proud to say that we together have worked so that the Colonial Militia would choose us of all people."

"Not the Free human technocracy or any other colony us. and I say to you my people be proud of yourself be proud of being an Imperial."
"Because being an Imperial is not only something you are born to be but something you choose to be. To be Imperial is human not simply in body but in soul. It is to be stubborn and adaptive and always ensure your survival. To be human is to be in the darkest of times and always work and hope for a better future. To be human is to be strong and to be human is to be victorious."

The Emperor would then shout "LONG LIVE THE IMPERIAL REPUBLIC !"

This cry would then be followed by all the others at the squares and beyond at the other planets of the IRM where this speech was broadcasted live.

Activity

A New Colony Ship had been created, the borders of the Kingdom and the Corporation would expand, as would its access to general resources and eventual manpower following a long term plan with long term goals. It would be sent off just East of the Borders of the Collective Silver Knight Corporation and Kingdoms Space so that it may secure expansion Eastward, away from the borders of the Redon and Backhatta as to not give them reason to attempt disputes into their space.

Fleet Expansion would continue to be a prevailing issue to the Corporation, wishing to ensure its fleets size remains fairly large so that it is prepared to defend itself if needs be. But trade would also become something of a priority, not wishing its competitors to gain a leg on the Corporation part of the yearly project budget would be put into establishing a proper trading post for Armathwaite.

Projects themselves would continue as scheduled to do so. The Foreign Policy of the Kingdom itself shifts as influenced by the Shareholders of the Silver Knight Corporation, shifting towards the GTC, Armathwaite leaves the Human Cooperative, citing ideological differences between some of the members and its own policies. It would subsequently request entry into the GTC.

Action Points

Project Gawain's work would continue on attempting to create miniaturized shields to be fitted onto the new mech suit frames. (3AP)

---------

ACTIONS - AP Pool: 6

Base: 4

Trade: +2

0AP - Trade established with the Han Dominion.

0AP - Due to conflicting trade interests, Hephaestus Enterprises declines a request for an official trade detail. As an apology for this, and a sign of friendship they have gifted basic deflector technology to Asgard.

0AP - In addition to ongoing Itoron upgrades on the modest Asgarder Navy, efforts are made to retrofit the existing ships and fighters with basic deflectors.

1AP - The colony ship ARN Valkyrie II is dispatched at warp to the jungle world discovered in the sector to the galactic east of Asgard with enough crew and materiel to start a modest colony on the surface in advance of more extensive settlement, with the ship capable of landing and serving as a base. The colony is named Vanaheim, and Asgard announces to its galactic contacts that it has laid claim to the sector.

1AP - State investment in industry continues. (4 AP total, counting this).

1AP - Research begins into adapting the military bot designs gained from the Solarin Federation into civilian models - robotic miners, farmers, unmanned heavy lifters and the like. These are designed to allow faster establishment of new settlements, more intensive agriculture in Asgard's sparsely populated fertile lands, and mining in the unsafe environs of the volcanic yet Itoron-rich moon colony of Muspel.

1AP - Existing Asgard military suits are little more than advanced cold weather gear, featuring heating systems and basic armour. Research priorities turn toward improving this, seeking to create a new all-purpose suit for combat and exploration across numerous environments - possibly including space at some later point in development. Research into perfecting this hostile environment suit starts with attempting to integrate jump-jet technology into them. The reaction thrusters of space vehicles are an obvious inspiration, as are Asgard's pre-existing hover technology. The aim is to create a lightweight, agile Hostile Environment Suit for exploration and combat use that is capable of using jump-jets for short-range flight and the scaling of obstacles. ((Think the suits from ME: Andromeda)).

2AP - Construction begins on a frigate, armoured with Itoron alloy and the new shield technology.

Just another dark year in mankind's history, their fight to live on and prosper (in some places). The actions of one fool, to cost the lives of half a million people. The ill decisions, the greed, oh the humanity. One tried to manipulate the feathered death. You don't manipulate the feathered death.

Then again, humans are not the only ones to suffer. Planets scorched, people slaughtered, ships destroyed, homes torn down, chaos, poverty, devastation. War consumes everyone and everything. It is the chef of death. Mounting casualties is what the Southern galaxy has to witness. Great wars left and right. Sentient beings dying because of hierarchies and orders from supposedly superior sentient beings. Others dying for ideals. Others dying to escape into another type of slavery. Who is a true master of his own destiny. Nobody, as in the end War and Death continue to win and feast upon us all.

----

United Canadian Front

The corvette and light cruiser are finished without delay. The shipyards hum with activity and the ships are churned out relatively quickly as the Canadian people take great pride in their work, especially as news of victory reaches the homeworlds.

Project: GOLIATH begins as planned.

Without any actual effort into the developement of the suit, there is no progress. To make the suit usable for zero G, it requires resources.

Left to their own devices, the colony ship finds a world covered in savannah in the sector north of the capital world.

United States Of Arcturus

The colony ship sets foot on the same world of the previous colony. The people are grim and in a bad mood, just to be greeted by a colony littered by corpses. The Keerim spared nobody.

Whilst cleanup progresses decently with the now arriving Lithruan Coalition forces, migration appears very unlikely from outside, considering that the USA are a warzone now, or at least very close to it.

Thulean Republic

Though immigration slows a bit this year as a result of the major battles all across the southern galaxy, the human population of la Republiqué increases substantially. Part of this improvement is in the newly engineered crops, though the data is not definitive yet to prove if the hormone is actually improving their population yields, or if this year just happened to be a more pleasant one.

The extensive scans reveal that the sector west holds a world with a deposit of a very familiar material. Trizendrium, accompanying the people of the Thulean Republic whereever they go it seems.

The Galactic Trade Federation of Orimon

Upon the taxes being imposed, the Northern Galaxy Nations are quite displeased. A T’Jell and a Zyrka Official find themselves quite immediately after the newly imposed taxes in the office of the leader of the GTFO.

With the ODC-S weapons systems entrenched throughout London Prime, the GTFO would find that their planet seems rather defensible now from a fleet of modest size. These guns do slightly upset the civilian population though, some considering them an eyesore and others worrying about the potentially oppressive nature of the government by making such a display of force. These complaints, for the most part, cause no real issues for the GTFO though.

Project THEIA continues.

With the added investment into the station, the GTFO’s Nexus becomes a rather substantial hub of trade, moving a tremendous amount of product between the North and South. The expansion of the facility also opens up a tremendous amount of opportunity for new trading partners, and as such new partnerships between the GTFO and other nations are likely to follow. [20 AP invested = Level 2 Trade Station, +6 Trading Relationships]

A H’Wong engineer, two Zyrka, a Ka’cezh do join the architect team to assist in the construction and extension of the city. The trade center itself is being planned right now, and at the end of the year, one of the perhaps most ambitious and elaborate buildings ever devised by mankind is ready to begin construction. In fact, it exceeds the size parameters by double, and even has its own power plants.

Migration takes place as usual, perhaps some more people arrived than last year, but who knows. Given the location of the GTFO, certainly a good thing.

Unfortunately, no people with psionic abilities turn up, despite all effort.

The Archivar is not on the Protorian homeworld at this time and indisposed, as he is participating in the peace conference.

The Northern nations are currently running the treaty through official channels, most being stuck in bureaucracy and office work. The 8th crusade and its administrative and organizational efforts have priority.

United Colonial Initiative

The search takes a long while, until they do manage to find an arctic world that is habitable. Running out of fuel they make planetfall and setup their new colony.

The construction of the Light Cruiser is certainly a massive undertaking for the UCI, and because of the incredibly sophisticated nature of the project, it nearly fails to meet the deadline! However, after nearly a year of constant work and several near disasters, the first Light Cruiser of the UCI’s Navy glides out of the shipyard fully operational, equipped with the most up-to-date weapons systems that the UCI can muster.

The scientists do propose the research of an improved guidance and tracking system for the turrets. It might help out in the effectiveness of the guns or cannons. On the other hand, the tests between Itoron and Tungsten shells show, that Itoron outperforms Tungsten quite substantially, but shows a peculiar hardness that might become a weakness, if the shell pierces the target entirely.

People's Agrarian Republic

The aid sent to the Eadni is utilized by their Navy in constructing and deploying the nation’s first Battleship. It is certainly a majestic ship, and the Eadni government expresses their gratitude to the People’s Agrarian Republic.

The upgrade to a Class 3 Shipyard is complete, certainly a substantial achievement for the P.A.R and their navy. Soon after its completion, the construction of the boat is underway.

100 Strike Suit Fighter Mechs are completed and deployed by the end of the year.

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

The construction of the twin colony ships goes as planned with alien and human alike clamoring for a spot aboard these ships. They are eager to be apart of whatever luxurious plan the Maltese surely have in store for these two great vessels.

Project Star Trek and MD Device Research continue.

Andorra

Common camoflauge techniques from Earth are certainly applicable for ships, but the issue is right now, that ships give off quite the amount of signatures, heat, electric, radio, etc. The scientists work steadily on it, but can not guarantee results any time soon.

The one-hundred fighters are constructed and completed within the year with dozens of pilots eager to take a swing at flying them.

They do find an arid, almost desert-like world covered in strange black chunks of metal. The atmosphere is breathable and gravity is favorable at about 1 G though, temperatures being rather high ranging from 20 to 50 °C

The message appears to be received, and the cargo ship that just happened to pass by replies in an unknown language.

Hephaestus Enterprises

The four frigates are completed without delay, making a wide array of people extraordinarily happy. The fleet amassed by the traders now appears rather formidable!

Project Pineapple, that's very juicy.

Despite it all, the Auroran businessman are not to be sniffed at, and in some places, where Hephaestus representatives appear to have success at first, they are being outsted and outbought again by the same Aurorans who had to withdraw at first. Nontheless, this fresh economic impulse will do good for the nation as a whole.

Under the leadership of Administrator Beam, the educational institutions of Aurora receive a significant overhaul and expansion package. The quality and rigor of Auroran education increases substantially as a result, much to the chagrin of the students currently attending those institutions.

And with great success, the input of an independent Zyrka programmer who usually codes and maintains battleship systems for the Ka’cezh quickly brings the project to fruition, when he heard about the potential challenge. Given he had holidays, but was bored he took up the task… and just did it.

Ms. Phelps proves that her time away from the fleet did not go to waste and the implementation of Tassaran tactics quickly improves the capabilities of the Haephestus fleet substantially.

The Enforcers begin their work on retraining the Auroran forces; a task that will take some time but will eventually pay off as the force will increase substantially.

The Grgl himself cuts down McPhaestus by half its size but manages to save it and turning it into a small but liked fast food chain. The ominous tablet itself just hangs there, inscribed.

The Han Dominion

Secret projects are secret.

Definitely an ill-advised investment in the Aurora lottery!

The colonization of the Alpine world goes as planned and soon the Han Dominion holds another territory of space.

The Solarin Federation

The shipyard sees a significant amount of expansion this year and becomes capable of some rather impressive ship-building feats. [SL4, 5/20 AP into SL 5]

The developement of both an improve Warp drive and the disruptor force blade go without any remarkable results this year. But the scientists are optimistic that they are close to getting a breakthrough in some aspects.

The Free Human Technocracy

The two destroyers roll out of the F.H.T. shipyard by the end of the year with no issue. They are equipped with the most up-to-date tech the F.H.T. has to offer, but otherwise there is nothing unique or substantial about them. The colony ship sees a similar fate, finishing production without issue by the end of the year.

The defensive batteries do well to improve the strategic capabilities of the F.H.T.

THE HOLY KINGDOM OF EADN

Secret projects are usually secret.

The battleship is finished as planned, with all effort invested. Truly, a mighty ship to demonstrate the power of the Eadni people.

The new material is very… unusual. It does not adhere to some laws of physics it seems. Touching it appears to do nothing, though a brave volunteer who moved his hand directly into it, says, it feels as if it was devoid of everything, not even a temperature to be felt, which is a very… disturbing feeling.

The concept of a charged shell is done, and with some adjustments they are capable of building a dozen of them. Tests show though they have no immediately better effect at this point right now.

Whilst they still continue to upgrade, they are not done yet, one could say. They will need more resources to make a good breakthrough to the capacities of cloning new people.

Imperial Republic of Mankind

The heavy infantry equipment rolls out of the factories of the Imperium and into the arms of waiting soldiers, eager to be bestowed with such fine equipment and utilize it in the field of battle.

Secret projects are secret.

With some effort, they are able to prototype a single phased shield onto a fighter, although it makes the fighter heavier and slower.

A frigate and destroyer roll off of the line and into the fleet of the Imperium.

Kingdom of Armathwaite/Silver Knight Corporation

With the traded in shield technology of the Solarin Federation, the downsizing project begins. Thanks to so much of the work being done already now and the contribution of the Solarin Federation, they finish the first version of a shielded mech, sporting dual phased shields, without any notable losses in performance over the original one.

A dense tropical world will be the new home of many humans living in the Kingdom of Armathwaite.

Secrets everywhere.

The three new corvettes are deployed rapidly into the fleet in order to replace the losses from the previous year. Their construction goes very well and act as a fine way of tuning up the skills of the shipyard’s workers.

The beginning of plans for a trade outpost begins to take hold in the Kingdom of Armathwaite. Upon completion, it could prove incredibly beneficial to the Kingdom!

Asgard Republic

The ships of the Asgarder Navy have been refitted with the basic deflector shields, a much needed boost in the defensive arsenal of the Navy. Equipped with these shields, the ARN Valkyrie II reaches the new colony of Vanaheim, successfully establishing a colony there for the Asgardian people.

The industrial growth of the Asgardian people begins to have a more visible effect on the planet of Asgard as industrial parks become far more common and larger swaths of the population gain employment from these new work places.

The adoption of military robots into civilian workers proves rather effective, however malfunctions do occur occasionally. Though they don’t seem to have a substantial impact on the culture of Asgard presently, perhaps sometime in the future they will.

The work on the new jump-suits begins with rather promising conceptualizations and designs, however in practice the concepts appear to be rather clunky in their handling and accidents appear to be common. More work will need to be done.

The construction of the frigate goes as planned, fully equipped with Itoron plating and primitive shielding technology.

Events

The war in the West grinds to a standstill, as the Ganvius offensive is being forcibly stopped by a well planned Kalronian counter attack. The death toll is rising, breaking already millions.

The Lithruan Coalition bleeds, and it bleeds heavily. Every sector, every planet, they push back the Keerim, at incredibly high costs. But they are steadfast in their determination. It shows results. Under incredible losses, with genocide happening all over the place as the Keerim withdraw slowly, scorching entire worlds, the Skellar and Libellans are freed and pick up arms against their former overlords, to bolster the LC forces.

A new power shows up in the events of the Galaxy, as the Darkul Regime from the Carina cluster makes its presence known. For now they appear to mostly observe and trade through that small trade part built by the humans and them, but who knows for how long?

Under guidance of Chaal and the Archivar, the Protorian Council has called for a truce and peace negotiations. Under pressure of the Redons who do heed the wishes of the Saryn, the Karass have agreed to attend and adhere to it. It is in effect starting 2139. Following nations are bid to the table: The Karass Dominion, the Karass Rebels, the Backhatta Hive, the Redon Imperium, the Imperium of Mankind, the Protorian Council, the Holy Kingdom of Eadn. Any other potential parties must file a request to participate in this gathering. Chaal and the Archivar will head the peace talks.
