The Affiliation

Work was going well thanks to the help of the Affiliation's new cloning expert. Carefully monitored, they continue the work step by step. The facilities will be their first step into the process of Cloning. Many different life forms are hope to be compatible. The Tassaran population living around the facilities are also prospering under their mayor. Guarded by a strong fleet, they continue to establish their new home world.

In Utopie massive parades are held s the crusaders return home. many were doctors, working for years under the hired elite healers. They had seen countless battles, wounds, and different species. And them and their accompanying marines were hardened. For years they knew nothing but death and loss. But it was over and they had returned home in triumph. The doctor cadre and the hired ones are drafted up to start their next project.

In Utopie itself they will use these expert doctors to start a state of the art hospital. It will have it's own valley, linked to Utopie through the underground river systems/caves. Their primary concern for now will be toBuild a large enough building and get more staff. Work will also begin in repairing/expanding  the Silver Knight factory to further improver Utopie's industry.

Faint music drifted through the air as Yang leaned on the railing of her favorite pagoda, gazing at her reflection in the water below. She looked tired: her hair was streaked with silver, and bags had formed under her eyes long ago. Still, this was perhaps the best place to be. Despite its importance, Laandaalir Triat was among the most peaceful locations in all the Dominion.

M4PUKM1p2OPLKcmwDMEkidXndJouQaepIQBzEqzilKf1Szc6afsh7IjScJxBM0xWyxMJBXnYZSOzRUrWQnlABqMKQW5tdWeRZiihQj_Ns5BuKbuolEDq82Bho0B8rIc16DEX7_SR

"Peace is hard to come by, these days," she thought to herself. When she'd arrived here two years ago, it had been infested with Zeng Xue's freakish death cult, spouting nonsense about the "Old One's Will," or something to that effect. The idiot would have gotten himself killed if she hadn't stepped in. But what else could she do? She was the oldest now, and she had been for years. She had to do what she could to look out for the others.

Yang sighed, and gazed upward, to where stars glittered through the vast dome. There was nothing she could do now. She shouldn't be worrying.

"Right where I left you."

The voice came from behind her, and Yang instantly whirled around. The man it had come from was immediately recognizable. He was bearded, now, his hair silver and his face aged far more than one would expect from the mere ten years away. And yet, the look in his eyes was unmistakeable: intelligent, intent, and fierce.

"Jie!"

Before Yang knew what she was doing, she surged forward, her arms wrapping around the older man, still strong as ever in his middle age. He returned the embrace, laughing in satisfaction. "You should have come," he finally said, when she at last pulled back, still within arm's reach. "You would have loved to see the things we saw." At that, his face went somber, if only for a moment. "Some of them, anyway."

Yang nodded with a slight frown: Jie's statement came with no small amount of ambient pain. She wouldn't press him further. "Hanying?" She asked, instead.

"Went even further north," he replied. "She's quite the young lady now, Yang. Clever. Lively. Happy. You'd be proud."

"I already am." She smiled up at the large commodore, leading him by the arm to the edge of the small pagoda, where it looked back out over an artificial pond. "You've been gone a long time. Things have changed. Yimu's high inspector now." At that, Jie grunted, and shook his head almost imperceptibly.

"I know. I got orders from him while I was up there, you know. He wanted me to get him a sample from one of the terror Corruptors." He nearly spat the words out. "If he had only seen the things I'd seen...it's a blessing those things are dead, and I don't intend to be the one to bring them back."

"He won't be happy to hear you say that."

"He won't have to. I quit."

Yang raised an eyebrow, and silently demanded an explanation.

"I'm going to speak to the Daos, and request command of the navy. General Shi's made a mockery of it for too long, and now I know how to handle one. If there's one iota of thought left in those masked fools, they'll give it to me." A tense thought from Yang warned him not to speak so loudly, and he settled. Truly, he had been away a long time.

"I'm sure they will," she finally said out loud, once he lowered his tone, and squeezed his hand. "It's good to have you back, Jie."

"I missed the company," he replied, smiling down at her. "Some of it, anyway."

----------

As the nightmare of the 8th Crusade comes to an end, a grizzled Huang Jie returns home, after a grand ceremony hosted by the Ka’cezh Lord of Stars and attended by the thousands under his command. Immediately, he requests command of the Dominion’s fledgling navy, so that he might build it and mold its doctrine according to his ample experience. In response, the Daos grant him the rank of Admiral, over the protests of both the Jinyiwei and the army. Jie doesn’t seem too bothered about it.

Immediately, the new admiral takes over the construction of the great shipyard-fortress on the ice moon Lenguo: Beijing Stronghold. More and more area is cleared, tunnels dig deeper and deeper as the shipyard expands. Jie pushes the process along with great purpose: soon the Han will have their fleet.

Meanwhile the military announces their mastery of weaponized plasma, and begins to put it into practical applications. The first of these is to be a new standard issue plasma rifle for the infantry: cheap to produce, while packing the biggest wallop possible at the cost of lifespan. Han soldiers are not expected to use their weapons for long in any case, and if they can do vast amounts of damage while they’re alive they’ll be seen to have done their duty.

Solar Ascendancy

Founded 2143

Nira walked down the hall of the Ascendancy’s Main Government building, Gideon catching up with her. “Nira, My Sovereign.” he’d call out. “Oh Gideon, I told you you’re not on duty do don’t need to refer to me that way.

I know, where is Mr. Armathwaite?” he’d ask. “Alfred? Oh he’s on a patrol to see how we operate.” she’d smile

You’ve been spending an awful lot of time with him. Without escort I might add..” he’d say a little agitated. Nira would sigh “Stop it..I’ll be fine. I trust him.

I understand that Nira but perhaps you forget what happens anytime there is trust given to a non-Solar-” She’d hold a hand up “That’ll be enough Captain..

Yes my Sovereign.” he’d bow his head, his face still showing agitation. “You’ve also been missing your practice sessions.

Well I can’t always have time for everything Captain.” she’d turn to face him “If you’re so concerned then let's go to the gym, you can handle it personally if it bothers you so much.

After you my Sovereign.” he’d gesture ahead as the pair would go to the gym.

After a few minutes the two would meet in a small arena like floor with wooden swords. “Have you been practicing your Psionics?”, Nira readies herself in a defensive stance “I don’t think that's anyone’s business but my own.” she’d comment.

Gideon adjusts coming at her as they exchange blows and parries several times before they’d be a break in the combat “You’re fighting too defensively, if you had to go up against a Redon or another Xeno you’d wear down first. They’re stronger. Now attack back!

Gideon and Nira would exchange blows several, he’d push forward as she lost her footing turning back to catch herself as his sword would hit her mid back with a painful blow. She’d grimace moving away and turning around as he’d only continue his assault.

No respite, the enemy won’t give you a break so neither will I!” they’d exchange blows and parries again and again. Swinging upwards he knocks her sword upwards as he plants a swift kick to her stomach knocking her back onto the floor, he’d take a few steps forward raising his sword.

Nira thrusts her hand outwards as a hard gust of wind blows him back several feet losing his footing, she’d stand running to as she’d now be the aggressor. Forcing him into a defensive posture back him towards the wall. She takes a step back thrusting both hands forward as he slams into the wall hard only to feel a swift jab to his stomach.

Gideon falls to his knees coughing “I..ehh.I yield!..” he’d catch his breath before suddenly lifting in the air to his feet. “Now will you leave me alone about missing my training?” she’d ask as he nods “My apologies Nira.

She’d smile “You’re a good friend but you have to relax I can protect myself.” He’d hug him, he’d return the gesture “Alright..

She’d break the embrace handing him her sword “Come on, lets go eat.

Meanwhile in coordination the Ascendancy and the Silver Knights would work towards the creation of a Light Mech using all currently available technology.

Activity

“You sent the Crown Prince where?!” Stanley Hunt would say via hologram for the monthly meeting of the Armathwaite Corporate Council. “To the Solarins to continue our efforts in bolstering our relations with them.” responded Edward, calmly though somewhat ticked at Hunts outburst. “You go too far this time ‘King’, you cannot simply put the future of the Corporation and your personal little fief at risk.” Hunt would say in retort, his visible distaste for Edward becoming clear to all those present, professional courtesy had been abandoned. “Stanley, when you opposed me so many years ago I won, I then gave you Gibraltar, I even made it for life. Back then you had a chance at winning, but you don’t have the finance I have now, nor the popular support.” the King retorts dismissively albeit politely.

“Perhaps the Governor of Gibraltar merely suggested it might be best if we increased the security detail on the Royal Guard.” Admiral McGraw would interject, he too in holographic communication, lightly suggesting for Stanley to calm himself down. Stanley himself simmering down shortly afterwards and remaining silent. “The Royal Guard is sufficient, we need to lock down ties with all we can, their leader, the girl is important in the grand scheme of things. We must ensure that we maintain our Kingdoms future that is tied with all of our Corporate interests.” he says addressing all those present amongst the Council “However, as per the constitution, I will call back the Crown Prince if you, the Council decide that it is for the best.” he finishes.

After a brief pause, no one raises the motion for a vote among the Council, the Military being especially silent on the matter. Shinzo Sato soon interjects “Perhaps it is best we move onto other matters yes? The Navy proposes three new Destroyers this year, the Engineer Corps agrees.” he’d say, as the meeting would simply continue on, all matters of governance, finance and defense being discussed at length.

The Crown Prince of Armathwaite, Alfred was sent to the Solar Ascendency on a tour of duty with his Royal Guard. The mission itself is intended to bolster relations between the two peoples of the two Countries respectively. This marks the first time the Kingdom of Armathwaite had begun Military Cooperation and exercises with a foreign force. Though there are other hopes for the visit that the media of both nations speculates on.

The Bank of Armathwaite continues to grow into various interstella Xenos Nations, a relationship of trust would begin to grow between various species and cultures with the Armathwaite Humans due to their general neutrality to the politics of the Galaxy and their effective business methods in banking and commerce. However the Bank had more places to expand to, the Democracies were especially important in the grand scheme of the bank, due to their relative party dependence on finance along with mostly liberal economies that Armathwaite would integrate itself into.

Navy Expansion was still a priority, with the annual meeting of the Corporation of Armathwaite approving the construction of three Destroyers to bolster the numbers of the smaller vessels in the fleet. It was expected by the media outlets on Armathwaite that Fleet Expansion will be a continuous process for the next ten years. With each year allocating a third of the yearly budget (Relative to 2142s onwards) towards Naval Expansion. Regardless, the Shipyards were put to work with many high skilled workers earning their keep.

The associate of Armathwaite through the affiliation of the Free Economic Zone makes the Silver Knight Corporation an offer that is difficult to refuse. Assistance in finishing the GTC for the Trade Federation, entitling the The Silver Knight Corporation and the Kingdom of Armathwaite ownership of the quarter of it that is constructed. After much deliberation on the Council it is agreed upon that they will fund this project, so long as the Silver Knights, Bank of Armathwaite and the Kingdom itself get publicity and the Flag and Logos of the Kingdom and Corporation are placed upon the construction work and the Quarter itself when it is finished.

Activity Points

The Naval Expansion Project continues, a construction order is placed with the contract being awarded to Knight Heavy Industries. The order is for 3 Destroyers (9AP)

Resources are given to the Trade Federation for the construction purposes (10AP)

The Bank of Armathwaite would begin to expand into the Galaron Republic, seeking to integrate itself with the economy in the Republic, beginning to finance the campaigns of popular candidates in the Republic if possible. The purpose of this is to quickly grow and expand the bank (5AP)

The Secret Project Continues (5AP, 24 Total, 29 Accumulated next turn)

The Royal Navy of Armathwaite under the command of Admiral James McGraw would be deployed to patrol the trade routes between the three nations surrounding Armathwaite territories. Seeking to counter pirate activities. (0AP)

The Trade Federation

Miranda Thresh stepped out onto the open fields of Terminus. Behind her, the dropships hydraulic doors hissed and moaned before snapping shut with a clang, just behind the last passenger. Nobody had time to wait around here, not with everything that had to be done. She glanced around the huge open field and clasped her hands behind her back, her pristine suit glittering in the dim light. A pale pall hung in the sky, the last remnants of the passing of a Ka’Cezh purging fleet.

xGOvJ4p.png

Corrupter presence on this world had been minimal, the world left largely unstained by the vengeful plasma of the Crusade. Yet, a large scar remained near the equator, a gash that bled smoke and dust for years, not enough to hurt the ecosystem or the inhabitants, but enough to remind them all of what had once lingered on this planet like a malignant tumor.

All around, men, women and aliens toiled away at the ambitious foundations of GTC-2. The second nexus of the Trade Federation, a nexus far away from Tony Blaze III and his hot-headed ambition and greed. A nexus guided by ruthless ambition and cold calculation. Hers.

Miranda smiled up into the weak sun and took a step forward, her perfectly polished boot kicking up a puff of dust. It was good to be rich.

The Colony Ship created in the past year is loaded with all the necessary materials and people and sent off on its long trip across half the galaxy. Using previously acquired scans from 8th Crusade Nations and escorted by a significant FEZ fleet, it will settle a world with as little tectonic or climatic activity upon which most species can live without any sort of life support. (0AP)

Soon after the creation of the new settlement, a THEIA scanning system is installed. (1AP)

An important public announcement is made by the representative of the Council of Corporations, Xino’Xan Xeros, announcing the establishment of the second arm of the GTC in the newly liberated Corrupter space. They announce that soon, they will bring the services of the GTC to all parts of the galaxy, and spread prosperity through all nations. This announcement is heavily publicized. (2AP)

The newly anointed GTC-2 will be operated in part by other FEZ nations who contribute to it by constructing large sections of the space station that will hover above GTC-P2. These sections of the trade station will be operated by said nations. (0AP) (Contributions of 10AP by Heph. Ent., Armathwaite & the Thuleans = this.)

A good amount of ressources is spent for the construction of defenses for GTC-2. L.S.A.A is contracted to build a defence platform orbiting the growing space station. (5AP)

It is announced that any nation wishing to accelerate the creation of GTC-2 and thus the flow of ressources through the now empty Corrupter territories is welcome to do so. Particularly hefty donations might net the donor some beneficial deals too. (0AP)

The Trade Federation continues to work towards a more multi-racial visage, with language classes expanding and the school system adapting to most species living in the TF, even as early as Kindergarden. (0AP)

The Trade Federation invites all nations willing to sign the GCMTNT and enter into the GTC to convene on GTC-P this year, at a period agreed upon by a majority of parties. They wish to officialize the deal and iron out any issues held by the parties. (0AP) (Event request)

Our Posts are Cost-efficient AND Fantastic Value!!

As the last Ka’cezh warships finally departed Hephaestus space, the marketeers collectively sighed and gave their fondest farewells. “Come back any time!” –the phrase uttered the most by the businessmen, had a melancholy tone to it despite their best efforts to keep it cheerful. The capital obtained from the Ka’cezh was the stuff of legends, now. They were stories to regale young children with, along with the awe-inspiring fleets of warships that buried themselves in the blood and gore of the corruptor menace. The spiders were dead, but so were the profits. It was a sad end to a miserable war. And yet, despite the loss of money, despite the billions of lives spent, despite the hardships, the fear, and anxiety, they were finally safe. Every employee could sleep at night knowing that the monsters were slain. No matter who reigned in the galaxy, at least they weren’t mutating spider-men. In the words of the New Sephorites and the Maltese, ‘God be praised.’

Hephaestus ordered all synth-alcohol products to be marked down 50%, and proclaimed a yearly Corporate-wide celebration for the newly-named “Extinction Day;” the first (and probably only) sanctioned inter-corporate holiday. Streets filled with jubilant employees as spontaneous parties erupted in every city and Habi-dome. It was as if a horrible, heavy weight had been lifted off their shoulders. A new, pure galaxy awaited their children, and investment.

But even in times of loss, there is profit to be made. The newest GTC outpost offered a number of less scrupulous individuals a unique opportunity. Tales from the Ka'cezh troopers revealed stories of dead civilisations buried in the masses of corruptor-corpses. A dead civilisation's trinkets would be worth a significant amount of money, and that was assuming there wouldn't be other things worth digging out of the dust and ash.

Young Johnny begins his tertiary education.

A group of five very well dressed individuals sat around a very finely polished wooden table, with two on each side, and one at the front, The room the table was placed in was rectangular shaped and was decorated with what seemed to be a layer of fine silver paint over cold and sturdy metal walls, elaborate patterns of yellow, blue and purple all traced down to the floor. The people around the table all looked to the one sat at the very front with anxious appearances, one of the men sat at the side of the table coughed once and placed his hand onto the table, "Your Excellency, I wish to bring up the issue of our culture being.. well, corrupted, first you invited non-humans to come live on our new home, and then you had us join this.." The man spoke in a rough deep voice, taking a break and looking at a file under the table before continuing "Dominion of Man, And we have no clue how isolationist our fellow members of mankind have become over the years of our separation, I have a certain distrust for this.." The man paused again, glancing up at the people sat around the table and then back to his file, flipping the page "Han Dominion?", The man who was speaking looked as if he was going to continue before the one at the front raised his hand and spoke with great authority "Grand General Rickard, I did not call my advisory council here to discuss how much faith we can put into the Dominion of Man, If you wish to talk more about this matter, you will bring it up another time, understood?" "Understood." Rickard replied bluntly yet formally, "Now before anybody else speaks out rashly, I would like to discuss the formation of the governing body, I, as the King have authority over all matters political and military, with Grand Admiral Arthur taking the reigns of the Navy for me." The King spoke once more with great authority as he pointed to a man sat by Rickard "And in turn I control the Admirals, who each control a fleet, who control Commanders, who each control a ship. Of course, at the moment we have just the one fleet but I trust investment will be made to improve the situation, Feel free to continue Sir." Arthur rushed out, trying to sound as polite as possible "Yes yes, and a similar system for the ground forces with Grand General Rickard." The King stated as he pointed to Rickard, the one who had stated his distrust before, "Now we also have Head of Intelligence Claire Williamson, directing any matters related to covert operations, military intelligence, and whatever else I deem fit." The King then pointed at a woman sitting opposite from Rickard who simply nodded and almost whispered "Yes my King." "And of course we can't forget my good friend and the current head of the Humanitarian Service, Lyara." The King bluntly said, pointing at the last unnamed person "I'm not sure why I'm on this council, I'm nothing to do with the military." Lyara replied naively "Now, Before any of you tell me I'm just reminding you of information you already know, There is another reason you are all here, And what I'm about to order you to do is to be followed by the letter." The King spoke and then paused as the council waited patiently "I didn't work for my position, I'm.. barely even qualified, The people chose me to guide them as.. the King, for killing the Prime Minister in a fit of rage, everybody on that ship was angry and in mourning at having to leave so many loved ones on Earth, and my anger relived the pain that we all felt, I can't keep my family in power we gained from what you could say was.. a murder, so I name Lyara the heir." The entirety of the council opened their mouths to speak, but looked as if they had been overruled by the King "She is far more qualified, I was just a soldier in my younger years, Lyara has gone through higher education and shown her capability to lead by heading the Humanitarian Service, She has all the traits a leader needs, I won't take any objections, even from you Lyara, I order you accept this honour." Grand General Rickard instantly stood up and slammed a fist into the table and shouted "Lyara is hardly old enough to become Queen, and helping a few sick and poor people is not what I would call qualification for controlling a Kingdom!" The King looked at him in shock, before rising in anger himself "I said I would not take any objections! Even from you Rickard, take a seat before I remove you from this council for putting doubts in the poor girls mind!" He and Rickard lowered themselves back into their chairs and then he spoke again "I did not say I was abdicating the throne, I simply name Lyara the heir, she has plenty of time to ready herself for this position." He looked over to Rickard in obvious disapproval at his sudden outburst "Maybe she will also find time to pick a new council." He simply stated, before looking to Lyara "The Humanitarian Service will have a new, temporary leader, you will be with me, watching what I do, so you are ready for this position." Lyara gulped and nodded once, clearly in shock about the sudden announcement and then the following argument, although inside her head she felt rather pleased, yet she tried to hide her pleasure and maintain her appearance of shock "Thank you my King." She blurted out quickly "The council is dismissed until I next summon you, and next time I hope people can control their emotions." The King echoed angrily as he stood from the table and began to quickly walk to the nearest door, a red cape flowing behind him, before vanishing as the door he left from sided shut behind him. Rickard and Arthur both left through another exit, seemingly in a hurry to get somewhere (Arthur seeming much calmer and a lot more professional than his friend Rickard), Leaving only Lyara and Claire sat at the table "Well, going places are we?" Claire would say calmly as the room emptied "Come come, As the heir I must show you the current major project." She continued on as Lyara nodded "Well lets go then." Claire said once more, standing and marching out of the same door Rickard and Arthur left from, with Lyara not very far behind her, trying her best to keep up "What's this project about Miss Williamson?" Lyara shouted as Claire approached another door "Well we are now calling it Violet Noise." Claire said, dragging a key card across a scanner and then placing her hand on what looked like a finger print sensor, Claire then dragged Lyara into a room with two armed men, who nodded and then opened yet another door, Claire grabbed Lyara's arm and dragged her within.

Imperial Provinces

40k_imperial_aquila__transparent__by_fug

Location: Novam Domum

Rain was rocking down the streets of Novam Domum. Small streams flowed across the streets as people took shelter in shops to the side or rushed to either their work or their homes. Through the dark water a pair of men in dark clothes were walking through the streets as if they hadn't even noticed the rain at all. Then after what was almost 10 minutes the men went into one of the many tunnel/bunker entrances that littered Novam Domum and walked with darkness surrounding them on all sides. The pair of men walked on for what seemed like hours, remaining silent on the way, the elder of the pair knocked against a door in what seemed like just a regular storage room. one of dozens upon dozens in the tunnel system.

This knocking was in a peculiar rhythm and after almost a whole minute of knocking a voice come from the other side of the door the elder man of the pair was knocking on. "What comes at night when the citizen sleeps ?" With which the elder man in front of the door. Who had a noticeable scar running across his face replied. "He who uses the shadows to hide and those who are the shadows."  Then with a loud cracking the door opened and a pair of guards were there in full power armor, holding their position and observing the men. They noticed the scarred man to which they nodded their heads inn their direction and one of the pair of guards said. "Identification please." As was standard procedure even though both guards clearly knew the scarred man. The scarred man then took from one of his jackets many pockets his ID card, to which his companion followed his lead and also showed the guard his ID. The elder man then spoke "Inquisitor Allisandor Carrow and Interrogater Timothy Faulks."

To this the main guard nodded and both guards lifted up their rifles allowing the pair to pass into another room. This room was filled with much light and people milling about. People were chatting, instructing or discussing with each other on several issues. In the middle of the room there was a large table that showed a holographic statistics or maps and on the walls there would be several screen showing data. From population demographics to the known criminal elements inside or outside of Imperial space under watch from the inquisition. Furthermore the room was well lit and was fitted with itoron-steel panels to make sure that the base was protected from bombardment.

Most of it was ignored by the two men though who walked to a single door at the end of the room in which's proximity almost no men came. All instinctively staying away from that single door and what would lie behind it. Then the elder of the companions knocked at the door and a voice said "Come in."

As both men walked inside in the center of the room sat a seat with it's back turned to them and the same voice as earlier said. "Just as I was expecting, inquisitor Carrow and investigator Faulks, I have an assignment for you"

The Maltese Principalities

The view from Rhodium's House of Malta was no less than stellar, Tul said ironically to those around him as the massive elevator continued to move up past the near-hundreds of floors of civilian and military living quarters. No human that had yet come within viewing range of Rhodium had been unimpressed - the massive arcology that dominated the landscape and the circular city that expanded what could be dozens of miles in any direction was something distinctly Maltese in this cold new galaxy. To Tul, however, it was a similar type of monument to that which had been popularized in the Kalronian core worlds, where they were built in displays of power. In fact, he had seen larger and wider, more technologically forward and more grand. He had left it behind when he moved to the outer reaches of Kalronian space, where, once war was declared, the various events that then occurred left him in Maltese space with little to do but accept.

In fairness to the Maltese, the arrival of the Kalronians on their home marble was relatively free of conflict, and many of the Kalronians, those that had lived on the colony all their lives or lived in some outer reach village, were stunned. For an inferior race, not terrible. The structure was most of what the three "translators" the Maltese had assigned to his group of 100 claimed.

They never went to that city-within-a-city, though. When they landed, a small army guarded the private terminal on the outskirts of Rhodius. 'The sun here is mild,' he remembered thinking. Far more pleasant than the sun on his colony, and far less dusty. As they left the repurposed cargo and military ships, their pictures were taken and identification cards given. Five alien letters, he was. Later, he'd be told it meant K1623. He was jostled forward by a female human guard little taller than a footstool, towards a parking lot. Five hundred archaic-looking electric buses stood in wait, and they were directed on. When the bus was full, there was an armed guard for every five Kalronians.

They stopped perhaps 30 or 40 miles from the capital building, in front of a walled off town section. The walls were lined with guards, facing both inward and outwards, and a massive gate marked the main entryway. The sign over it, he'd be told, meant Sector 1A-234F. The sign next to it, Population 2,500.

[0 AP] - The colony ship is sent to the sector directly to the east of Malta's northernmost, where reports of orange crystals call attention to the Maltese High Command. (Please do TCs for me, only other map change is another xylorite is required in one of the connecting looking colonies)

[10 AP] - Project Star Trek [50 AP Total]

[10 AP] - Migratory invitations, posters, and advertisements are sent en masse to LC, Tassarean, and Ganvius planets by Maltese merchants as they travel the galaxy. "The worlds of your dreams," "Utopia made real," and "All accepted" are the most widespread flyers. In addition, some show up in Protorian, H'wong and Ka'cezh space, where pictures of Ganvius, Kalronians, and Maltese smiling in front of the House of Rhodium or Maltense Amusement Park are the main point of the posters. The smile from the Kalronian does look a little forced, however. Most of the posters in that space say something closer to "Just like home". Lastly, those alien races previously cut off from the South, namely the Cynn and Lorhi, are also invited to move to Maltese space. Any immigrants are offered free government housing, stable income and employment, and high rates of promotion.

Also employed is a unique strategy - those Kalronians living in space ceded to the Ganvius Nation are invited to move to what has been nicknamed Ystor Circle in the outskirts of Rhodius, where their brethren also living in exile live in peace, generally leaving and being left alone by the Maltese. Housing and a stable job with minimal required English learning is provided.

[1 AP] - Further ship-based disruptor tech research. [6 AP Total]

[0 AP] - Maltese Academies, long the best in the Accord and much of the far southeast, begin to reach out to foreign national schools and universities to begin a galactic exchange program. In particular, the Ganvius, Protorians, Lithruan Coalition states, Zyrka, Libellans, and Ka'cezh are the first states reached out to, while any other nations are just gauged for interest. The Accademia system offers a competitive, up to date galactic studies program with multitudes of majors and the option to be recruited directly into the Maltese Officers Corp, both in military and civilian such as research from graduation. Housing and board will be included in the top academy-universities of the budding nation, along with many state funded scholarships.

The Free Human Technocracy

“Has it finally happened?”

“Yes, your father has passed away.” The doctor looked towards Johnny Walker and placed his hand on Johnny’s shoulder. “It was peaceful. I did everything I could.”

Johnny pushed the doctor’s hand off him in a fit of rage. “Obviously not enough to save him.” His stare turned dark and icy, as he switched his stare from the window that overlooked Viyter back towards the doctor. “Failure. Both of us. Stagnated by the lack of competition in our very nation. Lack of development on my part and lack of a doctor to compete against on your part.” Johnny’s demeanor had changed quite a bit from hopeful and bright to grim and dark.

“Get out. Call for Saelesh as well.” Johnny through his arm straight and pointed towards the door, his tone was cold. “You’re not going to be working for me anymore. Pack your things, I will have a team help you move.” The doctor nodded as he hurried out of the room, following a quick entrance by Saelesh. Her age was starting to show now, it had been ten years since she joined the Technocracy and has been essential to them. Also her and Ben were extremely close in fact that they saw each other as brother and sister. It was only right for Johnny to call her in to see his father.

Johnny looked at her, the cold expression finally broke into a flood of tears. As he was crying she hurried over to take him into her arms. While crying he was speaking to Saelesh, somewhat muffled, “Kyber Kore is taking over. I am not going to let this happen to any other person. We have outgrown the authoritative nature of our nation. I failed. We all failed, to keep the one person who cared for all alive.”  he pushed back from Saelesh, and looked her in her ever changing eyes. “I want you to have my back on this. I want you to head our protection forces. I will be instating a specific division in the military for psionics. However, I want you to oversee every aspect. Your days as an agent are done.” He stepped back from her to give her time to adjust to the news.

“Johnny.. Are you sure? I would be put in a difficult role.” letting out a deep sigh, she’d look towards Ben’s lifeless body, a tear rolling down her cheek before she reached up to wipe it away. “The funeral, I assume you are holding one. I will prepare security immediately sir. I hope it is grand for him.” She smiled as the two hugged one last time and then departed.

The door is opened, and then locked again.

The tram starts, drives, then stops again.

Jarring alarms sound in dark tunnels.

Camille was getting rather tired of the miner's life. He had expected a life as a colonial pioneer on Belenos to be full of excitement, maybe even adventure, but something fresh. Instead, Camille had ended up working in a trizendrium mine, stuck in the doldrums of each day differing naught from the next. He was only young at 23, and yet he could not foresee anything but his life being this way until his death. Camille was resigned to his fate, even while he lamented it. But last year he was finally freed as the new Consul liberalised the economy, and so, full of hope, he left his job as a miner and the planet of Belenos, returning to Prima Thule. A life in the Marine Républicaine laid out before him, joining as an Aspirant on the NMR Vercingétorix, ready for his first voyage as part of an exploratory mission to the east.

It was more or less business as usual now in the Thulean Republic. Consul Montesquieu's economic reforms rapidly transformed the economy of Prima Thule from a tightly controlled, centrally planned and state-directed to a capitalist market-driven economy. There had been some raucous from the more committed hard-line centralists, but for the most part the people were happy to be given the opportunity to not only generate their own prosperity, but become leaders in an important facet of the nation.

One note of excitement for the Republic was the Trade Federation's creation of the GTC-East trading centre, to which the Thuleans had been invited to construct their own quarter along with the other Free Economic Zone members. The prospect of opening up trade with the prestigious Northern nations was of great interest to Montesquieu, given that until now it was almost entirely the domain of the Trade Federation. A new market, and potentially new partners awaited the Republic. Such partners are also contacted by the Republic to begin preliminary talks in preparation for the completion of the Thulean Quarter of GTC-East. The closest in proximity to GTC-East such as the Cynn, Cevelli, and Lorbi are naturally given slightly more attention, but any nations in the North open to talks are contacted.

In preparation for the coming year, a colonial freighter named the NMA Avance begins construction to prepare for the continuation of the expansion of Thulean holdings. Several Thulean vessels are also dispatched to different territorial claims of the Thuleans to see if there are any habitable or resource-rich planets that the colonial freighter might land on.

For now, Project Taranis was put on hold to accommodate all this.

A state representative is sent to attend the funeral of the FHT leader.

The craft plunged spiraled out of control as it neared closer to the treeline, spinning and spinning the last thing that was seen, was the tips of the jungle canopy before a jarring shock and then nothing.

And then a light, bright, piercing through the darkness, and then again. It went black.

As she awoke again, this time is was not for a millisecond. Slowly opening her eyes the woman looked around her surroundings. No longer in her gear she was in a blue hospital gown. Laying in a bed of a small room with steel walls. The blinds were closed but she could hear commotion in the hallway outside. She struggled to remember where she was. As she lay back in the bed the door opened and what looked to be a doctor stepped inside. Followed by another man who looked strangely like a soldier of some sort she struggled to speak “Wh- where?” The officer nodded “I'm sure you have a lot of question, and don't worry we will answer them all. But for now you need to rest. It is very important.” She nodded as the doctor injected something into her IV and she once again slipped unconscious. An unknown amount of time passed before she awoke again, gazing through the same familiar room she found even more men in military clothing and a few women, all watching her. As she rubbed her eyes the man she spoke to for a brief moment stepped forward and sat down on a chair facing the woman in the hospital bed. “Do you know where you are?” He asked curiously as he studied the woman. She shook her head “Its all foggy the last thing I remember was going down….” The man thumbed his chin with a slight sigh. “You are on board the aircraft carrier USS Valley Forge.” she nodded slowly thinking to herself how unfamiliar this was “Did you pull me out? Out of the wreckage?” The man bit his lip before pausing. “No, we didn't.” She gave a confused look as she thought to herself “Well how di- how did I get here?” The naval officer took an even deeper breath as he looked to his colleges behind him, silently studying the interaction. “You are aboard the USS Valley Forge, currently orbiting the planet Hermes in the Arcturus system.” She chuckled trying to rationalize what the man was saying “Hermes? Artur what?” The man nodded to his aide who began pressing buttons. And he responded to her. “The year is 2145, you are in the Arcturus system of the United States of Arcturus, successor of the United States of America....” He paused as the aide finished pressing a button and the shades began to open revealing the view from the hospital room of an Ocean of Stars. “You have been in stasis, for two hundred and seven years…..Miss Earhart. You never died in that plane crash….” With a gasp Amelia looked out the window next to her bed, and fully grasped the reality of her situation.

L'estel : Escut Mining Station

planet-four.png

Pablo followed the station manager across the dirt path in his 'safari' outfit while constantly reapplying bug spray as the manager spoke.

"Sir, I can't tell you how thankful the guys here are about you sending over all those supplies and workers in the colony ship being made up at the capital. We've been having to work with the bare necessities here to get the job done," As they walked out of a small thicket a sound of heavy machinery got louder and louder. “Here we are! So this is where the dakite ore is drilled straight out of the ground. We’re standing above the largest vein of dakite on this planet, but there are a couple other spots that have noticeable amounts.”

Pablo gazed in awe at the wonders of machinery, endlessly drilling into the planet and bringing forth large hunks of ore. “My, we should be able to have a whole fleet made of this stuff in no time!”

“Well, not exactly sir,” He said as they walked into an adjacent building, “You see, this isn’t pure dakite that you see before you, but rather the ore. This needs to go through a smelting process to isolate the dakite from the regular stone. It is long and rigorous due to the durability and scarcity of this material, but when we’re done we are able to make about ten of these units per year.” The manager took a key card out of his pocket before he opened a safe with it and withdrew a hand-sized disk of dakite.

“Wow, that’s not very much, is it? But I guess if each load of ore makes ten of these…”

“No, actually that’s the amount we produce in a year.”

“Oh, so each drilling site gets…”

“No, with all the mines on this planet we can only prepare ten kilograms of dakite each year. It’s just that rare.”

“Wow, really? Dang, I hope I haven’t wasted resources on this stuff.”

“Oh no sir! This is the single most durable material in the entire galaxy, that we know of at least. And we know a lot.”

“Well, if you say so. I suppose we can find a good use once we’ve stockpiled enough of it. In the meantime, the Pinta will be finished sometime this year and arrive with everything this place needs to become a thriving city. Keep up the good work.”
