Lieutenant Hussein al Noor strode rapidly down the dull grey corridor, in his left hand he carried his sharp white officer’s cap while in his right he carried a schematic of the newest capital ship bound for service in the Reformed Navy of The Caliphate. Arriving at a set of massive metal doors bearing the insignia of the new naval hierarchy, the Lieutenant paused and took a deep breath, relaxing his body before stepping into the meeting. As the doors opened before him, a grey-haired man with a dark complexion rose to meet him. Dressed in the standard work attire of the Prophet’s Legion, Hussein couldn’t help but admire those fine suits designed so meticulously for the new vanguard of the Caliphate.

“Lieutenant al Noor! Assalamu alaikum, aki.” The old man beams at the young officer, straightening his khaki shirt as he stands. He beckons Hussein into the white room, the walls pristine and covered with Quranic verses and proverbs of strength. Behind the General’s desk, a wide open window peers over the massive shipyard facility orbiting the planet Amal. “Tafaddal, tafaddal Hussein. We’ve much to discuss this afternoon.”

Hussein bows his head respectfully, slowly lowering himself into the chair before the General’s desk. The general himself does not sit down, instead walking to the window overlooking the shipyard. Shifting uncomfortably in his seat, Hussein thinks quickly of something to say to lighten the mood of the room. “General Idafa, your new office certainly has quite the view sir.”

“It does indeed, doesn’t it Hussein? A good place to oversee the construction of our new fleet."  General Idafa smiles, watching drones circle the massive outer hull of the newest battleship of R.N.C., the Hayreddin Barbarossa. “You know Hussein, in the old regime, the first Hayreddin Barbarossa was commanded by your father?” Hussein flinched a bit at the comment, for most of his life he’d been attempting to escape the shadow of his father. First at the academy, then in the fleet… he couldn’t help but wonder if it wasn’t his last name that helped him survive those brutal purges after the exodus.

“I do, General Idafa. He died a warrior's death against the Karass insurgents, inshallah.” Hussein let out a half-hearted smile, placing his cap on the desk in front of him. He relaxed in his seat, watching the General as he sank back into his seat with a smile.

“Your father was a hero, Lieutenant. He led us in our first wars and never tasted defeat. He was the best of us in those early days. He knew the potential that Eadn had and believed in the Sultan’s cause wholeheartedly. It’s a shame, perhaps if we had him at Utopie…” The General shakes his head then waves his hand dismissively. “Enough about the old world. We have a new one to worry about.”  Hussein nods, leaning forward in his chair to listen to General Idafa.

“I’ve got an assignment for you, Hussein. Since the purges, the staff for this particular project has been… shorthanded.” Hussein tilts his head a bit, clearly interested. His mind drifts back for a moment to those days immediately after the Exodus - the execution of the Sultan, the eradication of any other Earth-Borns, the installation of the Caliph… it all happened so suddenly. “Hussein? Are you listening?”

“Na’am, General.” Hussein snaps back to attention, looking to the General as he describes the project he’s joining in great detail. At the conclusion of the meeting, Hussein rises from his chair with a smirk. Shaking General Idafa’s hand and bowing, the Lieutenant marches out of the meeting confidently, ready to take his place among the heroes of the new Caliphate.

Ensign Thor Bellson stood at the window, his blue navy fatigues reflecting in the glass. The young man was only nineteen years old and freshly graduated from the naval academy, right out of school he had been assigned to the only light cruiser in the fleet, the E.N.V. Jarvis. Thor’s role was a space warfare officer and had control over the weapons systems of the vessel, his crew members numbered to two hundred. A finger tapped his shoulder, one of his warrant officers held out a document to him,“What’s this?” he said taking the manilla folder from him. “The captain has asked that all officers are to receive a briefing on our next operation soon, it’s going to be rather unique.” the warrant’s response interested Thor, “Thank you, you should hurry up delivering these I’m sure the captain will tear you a new one soon.” The officer laughed before saluting then walking down the hall, a few more manilla folders in his left hand.

Peeking at the cover of the folder, CLASSIFIED in red letters covered the front of it. Whatever this briefing was it needed to be read immediately, Thor went on his way down the hall passing the many rooms of deck B. The ensign blew off many people trying to speak to him as he walked to his room and upon reaching it he shut his door. The room was modestly small with only a bed, locker, a desk, and a single shelf that was half full with books and documents. Thor took a seat at his desk opening up the document taking out and reading it extensively, Keerim forces had been spotted not too far from Accord space. Immediately Thor’s heart began pumping faster as he realized the situation was an Accord matter not an Edonian one. The briefing inside detailed that a small task force consisting of the four member states would rally together in the Kanatian border and watch for any incoming Keerim forces. “God ******* dammit! I was for sure they would only stay north!”

Thor put the classified documents back together hiding them in a secret compartment built into the desk, turning he went to his locker and took out a xanax and took one. The ensign had awful anxiety issues for his age, the whole experience of being away from home and now the Keerim only made it worse. “Sir! The captain request you come to the CIC immediately!” The abruptness of the hollering startled Thor before he answered. “Roger that!” he responded gripping his locker door to collect himself. Thor gathered his sidearm and took his cap off his bed opening his door and walking out heading for the CIC located in the middle of the ship. Upon reaching the entrance to the command center he could hear extreme debating going on inside.

“What the hell do you mean there’s more on the way! I thought for sure they had no idea we even existed down here!” one of the officers shouted at the captain. “Can it soldier! This is the card we’ve been dealt with and as such we will respond with ours. A taskforce consisting of us and a few other ships will be deployed east as an early warning force, we are NOT to engage them unless we have to. High command assumes that they want to colonize a small outpost world and nothing more to ensure the Lithruans don’t strike them in the ass.” Thor took his position at the table, a holographic map with the eastern fringes of the Accord on it. “We are leaving in two days and are expected to remain there for a year before we are relieved by another Edonian ship. Brief your team’s, I want our men to know exactly what to expect and make sure the gravity of the situation is known to them. Thor, I want you to do diagnostic test on our weaponry asap.” Thor nodded at the captain, his chest felt like a Redon was stepping on it. “Yes sir, my men will begin test as soon as our meeting is adjourned.” The captain nodded then began to go over orders for the other officers, Thor himself sat in silence tuning out the voices. The only thing on his mind was the hellish tour he was going to have.

Chapter I: The Great Wars (Ended)

Chapter II: Old Shadows

The Great Wars were over, an era of peace seems to settle in. Prosperity was coming to many, it was calm and quiet. Before the storm. A peace, yes, yet uneasy, with the Lithruan Coalition and the Keerim Imperium staring at eachother, armed to the teeth, billions of soldiers in arms. In their back, a Redon whose motives of conquest and expansion are unknown to many, after he has taken control of the Karass people, their lands and space, giving his Imperium a massive boost. In the North, the Darkul have grabbed a foothold on the milky way, after conquering the Ar'gakari. Their motives as unclear as ever. The Heart within appeared dormant. The Saryn Guardians laboring ahead, silent, with minimal contact to any outsiders. And amongst it all, with Margek in charge of the newly established Saryn State, the oldest and most advanced race in the galaxy, ready to prove its mettle in these times.

Republican Systems of Edonia

The construction of all ships proceeds as planned, with the first battleship being completed, whilst leaving two structural bodies in the vicinity of the shipyard, waiting for completion.

The trade post is expanded as planned, allowing new merchants to successfully dock their ships and conduct free trade.

The Affiliation

Construction continues, but the rumors and news reach the outside, bringing heavy complains from the surrounding nations. The Protorian Council specifically notes, that clones are not meant to be, lacking the spark of true life and just being products of people dabbling with natural evolution and growth, something not supposed to be done by them.

The construction of the valley hospital begins, depending on how expansive it gets, at the current rate it might take many more years before being fully operational.

On the other hand, the industry grows richer by yet another complex, producing new goods and bringing fresh wind into the nation's economy.

The Han Dominion

Redacted continues.

The first concepts are drawn up, ideas worked out, and a prototype for a simple plasma pistol is finished, proving to be surprisingly reliable and solid for a first-time plasma weapon of mankind. The design of various bigger firearms is still something they need to continue working on, but it is a start.

The shipyard grows and grows, but still, the end is not in sight. (26/40 AP to SL6.)

Two massive Darkul freighters with heavy escort show up by the start of this new year, dropping off their cargo.

Solar Ascendancy

Eve, Longshot, Swarm. So many names, so little time. :D (Skype)

A light mech, or light walker, as utilized by many nations as a light combat unit with a support role to the infantry is a concept they will continue exploring. Given the technological relationship between the Silver Knight Transformer and this project, it proceeds quite steadily and rapidly, a concept already finished with all required details at the end of this year.

The support carrier leaves the shipyard as planned, ready to carry the hundred fists of the Solar ascendancy.

The colony is established as planned, a frozen world not unlike their capital. It is familiar and perhaps gives them more of a sense of home than one would anticipate.

Kingdom of Armathwaite

And three destroyers are finished the very same year. They join the growing fleet of the Kingdom.

There is a recent election in the runs with three major candidates, one being more conservative, focusing on strengthening the country's autarky, the second pursuing aggressive free trade, the third focusing a more relaxed middle approach. Currently there are no favors. The big topic of the Republic is economy and rebuilding at this point.

Secrets. (Skype)

Given that there is no piracy and Redons and Protorians have a firm grip on their space, makes the traders feel more secure than ever. But hey, more protection is not an issue.

It might be a shock, a surprise, but it is real. 2146, the Kingdom of Armathwaite receives a message from the Redon Imperium, where the Redon demands direct vassalage under the Imperium.

The Trade Federation

The deal is signed.

They finally choose to settle down on a beautiful lush green world, which does hold a series of deep ravines from previous combat between Crusaders and Corrupters. If they only knew, it was one of the worlds where Jie of Han was in command of purging it. Nevertheless, they install the THEIA scanner system and continue about their daily lives.

The publishment gets a response by the Cynn Foundation and Cevelli Pact, who themselves have already established new colonies nearby. They claim to share the goal of furthering the wealth of all, and bringing new activity and life to this devoid area of the galaxy.

Trade station and defense platform are added as planned, ready to fulfill their duties.

The Saryn language is the most suitable language for a multi-race language. Many have learned it and it is often the first foreign language children learn in their schools in many different countries.

The signing of a contract of such extents will be a difficult task, but many of the nations, north and south agree to join the talks. (Skype)

Hephaestus Enterprises

Efficiency, focus, cutting strength, the list of improvements is long, but in no category have they finished up. Improvements left right and center, but never done, never finished. (They got better, but there is more potential ;) )

With a big bugfix in the targetting system, the swarm missiles have drastically reduced the chance to crash into eachother when rapidfired in huge clusters.

The two ships return to Hephaestus space as intended.

On the other hand, 12,000 Tithonus combat droids are finished and delivered to the US in the east.

The colony ship leaves its own shipyard, ready to settle another world for the evergrowing corporate state.

And he is hitting on probably anything with two legs, Tjieran, Da'nor, Ascardian, Terraskolarian, even one or the other human. Might even hit on one of the Redon gals.

The Kingdom of Unified Systems

The secret project Violet Noise rolls on. (Skype)

Imperial Provinces

Yet another colony ship for the Imperials, and their ever-growing populace, ready to settle another world.

Business investments en masse to bring new speed to the economy of the capital world of Novam Domum. It seems to attract some tourists from the nearby LC. (+1 AP from Tourism per turn) (These investments count into business separately too.)

Fulmuris continues, and the boarding put enters the earliest stages of idea developement. Claws, anchors? Drills? How to go about this...

The colony ship was just finished. It first needs to load the new volunteers and goods before it can set out to settle a new world.

Without the practical knowledge to do so, there does not appear to be anything psionic about the Imperials as is.

The Maltese Principalities

Yet another colony is settled for the populous Maltese Principality.

Star Trek continues, but there is no end in sight quite yet. Not yet... not yet...

What follows is a curiosity. A shipload of Adaptaar migrants turns up in the Maltese immigration office. 3,000 Adaptaar are looking for a new home, a place to practice their religion in peace. It appears there are some heretical issues going on here within the Commonality.

The Kalronians on the other hand appear grateful to be left alone. Tension lowers, they do interact more willingly, although still sparsely with the remaining populace.

And they get offers from every single one, positive answers. Exchange programs ready to be set up, foreign students flooding in, bringing some knowledge, but also willingness to learn. Oh and a lot of money. (+1 AP from Exchange programs)

The Free Human Technocracy

With little steps they roll out the old plans and schematics for their kinetic technology, to begin their improvements.

The colony ship is finished as the reports come in. Three habitable worlds are found. Two are arid types, the third being a tundra world.

The construction on this new FHT stadium begins, ready to host football events from all over the nation.

Thulean Republic

No resources are found, whils the colonial freighter is finished as planned, ready to settle another world for the Thuleans.

United States Of Arcturus

Despite it all, the settlement does not discover any resources worth mentioning.

With this proceeding, the LC nations show their gratitude, sending a generous fiscal package to the US. (+4 AP this turn only).

The four cloak-capable corvettes are ready for battle.

Andorra

Whilst the colony ship is finished, it has yet to wait a year to gather the people to settle this new world.

This year, it appears that there are more Cevelli coming in to begin a new life in another country, another world. Immigration advertisement does pay off in some form after all.

Dampening the traces and emissions caused by these ship parts is the right way to go, and the scientists begin to diligent work on the task at hand.

With yet another trade station, Andorra's effective trade capacity is increased, allowing more merchants to successfully dock and appraise their wares.

Republic Star State of Kanata

The shipyard expansion finishes as planned. This new size will allow to build heavier ships.

Whilst the shields are installed as planned, the weaponry enters the proposed developement cycle and advances steadily.

Asgard Republic

A stale year, as nothing new is reported whereever improvements are made. Progress is slow, appears unfocused this year, no project reaching any kind of results or finish. Odd. On the other hand rumors indicate that an old man in a white suit was seen on some excavation sites, talking with the workers there, bringing them drinks and refreshment boxes.

Protocol 12. (Skype)

Events

The Redon Imperium officially demands vassalage from the Silver Knights, also known as the Kingdom of Armathwaite.

The Saryn Guardians appear to suffer some kind of internal conflict with machines fighting eachother in space near their systems in the West. Traders report passing by battles, with some ships getting caught in the crossfire, subsequently being destroyed.

The Zaxx Empire appears to be in diplomatic tension with its neighbours.

A new empire in the West is discovered as a scouting ship of theirs finds various colonies in former corrupter space. They introduce themselves as the Empire of Chupan'Mo.

The man in the white suit shows up in some places, according to rumors.

The Maltese Principalities

"A thousand tons of xylorite a year, to free what again? Giant crabs?"

"They're known as Ar'gakari, sir."

"They're known as whatever the f*ck I want them to be known as, Stacey. Who approved this?"

"Your father, sir."

"And the space pilgrims?"

"The Adaptaar?"

"Yes, them. Can they really teleport?"

"...No."

"..."

[4 AP] - The Academia system and connected exchange program, with the additional funding from abroad and the influx of students, is invested into by the government to expand even further (the hope being it would soon become the best in the South, if not the entire galaxy). A huge government grant, sent to the Accademia Lombardie, Rhodium Military Academy, and other Maltese schools in the program, ensures that everything promised and more is delivered to those students being sent to Malta from abroad, even as it sends many of its own across the galaxy to learn from those great civilizations that had accepted its proposal. Language and ESL/SSL (English/Saryn Second Language) programs are improved to ensure all students are able to communicate amongst themselves and the professors and teachers, even as government money is spent on recruiting the best and brightest from across the galaxy to teach. An effort is made, as well, to ensure that most (if not all) courses have equivalents taught either in the native tongues of exchange students or in Saryn. All accommodations, of which many have been built up specifically for this purpose, are equipped with top-tier imported furniture, amenities and eating plans, tailored to the many races now attending Maltese Academies for semesters or years. (TL;DR Professor recruitment, academic course tailoring, and campuses expanding and improving)

[0 AP] - A second call to join the exchange program is sent to much of the galaxy - the Skellar, Redon, Galaron, Xaplonius, Ymoria, Cynn, Cevelli, T'jell, and Alduu'uuraneans are invited.

[0 AP] - In addition, more schools within each of the previously contacted nations are reached out to build further rapport between them and the Academia program - many smaller Maltese Academies offering exchange programs to private schools within the empires to bolster association.

[0 AP] - The Adaptaar are wholly accepted, with the government of Malta encouraging them to bring all of their religious sect with them, should they wish. The following are made citizen races of the Principalities as they do so, as they confirm the exchange program with said nations:

Adaptaar

Protorian

Redon

Zyrka

Ka'cezh

[1 AP] - The Maltese government quietly begins to send diplomats to Grand Alliance worlds, where they go to various noble worlds searching for a suitable bride for the 21 year old Franz of Malta, heir to the Maltese Principalities. The criteria are meritocratic, size of world/population ruled, psionic ability, length of rule, and looks, in that order. Strangely, though, Franz puts in a unique request - "If you find a beautiful psionic, the other criteria don't matter. If she is breathtakingly so, do whatever you can to bring her." In the hopes/eventuality of this occurring, a gift is prepared for the family of the selected princess/female noble with the promise of far greater to come.

[8 AP] - Project Furmis

[5 AP] - Project Star Trek [55 AP total]

[5 AP] - The Maltese capital is expanded horizontally around the House of Malta, with many small malls, novelty/trinket stores, amusement and theme parks (a couple built in partnership with the same Lithruan company that built the giant park on Maltense), carnivals, and other public works such as pools and parks being built. Most have noticeably low costs, even when pitted against the rest of the galaxy - they're generally funded or subsidized, at least in part, by the government. Some more housing, sometimes obviously built with nonhuman populations in mind, is also built. Most of these places and attractions, interestingly, seem to be geared towards families or students, and most seem to have advertisements on screens and posters inviting emigration to Malta plastered all over them.

[1 AP] - Ship-based disruptor research continues (7 AP total)

[0 AP] - The Empire of Chupan'No is contacted, Malta hoping to establish friendly relations with the previously unknown people.

[0 AP] - The Ar'gakari are freed the moment they arrive in Malta, being made citizens and given government housing and translators. In respect to their probable culture shock, they are all given housing in a single district. Any children among them are brought into the public schooling program, and all adults that can work are given jobs suitable to their previous walks of life. The government, in addition, asks if any once held scientific or technical jobs, in the Ar'gakari Star Empire, and if they would like to do so once more in the Principalities.

[0 AP] - Maltese ships are upgraded to the Longshot/Lirjae railguns.

The Frontier Colony Affiliation

Baron Manfred Gottheim arrived on Utopie to jubilation and cheers. He had just got done coming home from the Silver Knights home world. At long last, the Solarins had been brought to the negotiation table. Though forced to publicly make some announcements in the coming years, the deal was quite favorable. The resources sent would go into the ever growing Utopie hospital. They would use it for good, where the Solarins try to conquer. Following this massive change was series of diplomatic talks.

The Frontier Colony Affiliation at this point was quite unruly. Many of the colonies were far away from Utopie, and governed locally. This was a breeding ground for crime and vanity. Thankfully however, the Utopie military and navy was some of the strongest in the sector. They kept things tight, and ensured Democratic ideals were followed. The Barons were all for the people. And though they may be independent, at the end of the day, everyone answered to Utopie. For now this way of life will continue. The Baronies are allowed to grow, as the Frontier will always need good men.

Cloning programs will be temporarily slowed down. The Utopie delegation as the surrounding Alien nations to state their exact grievances with Cloning. The plan has always been to work on only humans, which the Aliens have no right to meddle in. It seemed a double standard was forming. That of Alien intervention, but a fiery response to any Human attempts. However Utopie wishes to have only friends, and ask the aliens to work with them on a compromise.

*Cloning would still continue in small increments. For now Han officials are brought into the facility. All the [AP] this year will be on making a good genetic template for human cloning. They will focus on improving the reflexes of clones. That alongside making their bone structure more light weight but durable. For now they just want to get the basis of expanding upon making lighter/faster clone versions of Humans. The [AP] normally planned to help further Cloning but is halted. Utopie wishes to keep the peace with aliens. Instead this [AP] will be devoted to making a large freighter.

**The F.C.A will begin it's long sought after ultimate project. They will begin the preliminary work on enhancing their Force Blades. They were already extremely reliable/durable, but were very short and not long lived. Utopie wanted to craft works of art, not utility knives. So for now they will focus on refining their energy sources. They want to make the small shield generator capable enough to add more blade to the length. The Protorians are begged to help in this process. Utopie even hints at ceasing it's clone program if they are forthcoming.

General Friedrich Marcellus and his procession stormed down the corridors. They were based on the Silber Barony. Very close to the Silver Knights home world, they had enjoyed several new delicacies. But that was all coming to fade now. Every day more troops, droids, and tech flowed in. Marcellus had originally been training the reserves on this harsh desert world.

Now he commanded a full 2/3 of the Utopie standing army. And that number will be rising. Manfred has begun to exert his influence on the scattered baronies. Levies from every world are coming in. Even some men from the fabled 1st Tassaran Rifles, though they were busy with their new home world.

Their primary reason was to train, and become ready. Their intentions are broadcasted to the Lithruan Coalition. At the first sign of a new war, the Utopie land army will stand ready. They will fight side by side and take death to the Keerim. The LC is asked to send advisors to prepare the army for truly full scale galactic combat.

General Activity:

The six small transports sped through space from Feldspar, the mountainous terrain below quickly becoming less and less visible from orbit. In the distance a small task force of ships awaited them, a singular large vessel in the middle of a formation surrounded by a few screening craft. Inside the transports held a fresh batch of marine recruits fresh off boot camp, many of them were young men eager to see what the universe had to offer. One of the men who was sitting towards the ramp looked terrified, while space travel wasn’t new to him it still made his anxiety sky rocket. His uniform was the standard Edonian blue BDU, all of his items were in his duffel bag on his lap the only memory of home would be a picture of his mother. His comrades were all solemnly quiet as they approached their new home, they all knew they were going to be in an environment unlike anything in their lifetime.

Soon the squadron was met with an escort of A-50 interceptors, old fighter craft created at the dawn of the Edonian navy. The wear on their hulls visible from the windows situated in the room, some of men were starting to turn more nervous. The man sitting by the ramp looked around once more before looking to his friend and whispering to him. “Do you think the food is going to be like basic?” The comment seemed to calm his friend even causing him to chuckle a little. “Ross, the navy is notorious for having slime for potatoes.” Ross looked at his friend with a smile seemingly unaware that the transport had docked in the mediocre hangar of the large warship. A tall man stood adjacent from Ross, the man turned and shouted. “Alright marines stand up! We’ve arrived on the ENV Jericho, the first Edonian battleship to grace the milky way. We’re to unload our **** then proceed to our rooms on B deck where we will promptly prepare for a tour.” The marines began standing getting into their respectable lines, their lieutenant turned round awaiting the ramp.

While the ramp fell Ross felt like it took years, his palms were sweaty and his nerves were completely shot. The noise of work from inside began to shower through into the hull of the transport, many hangar crew were busy on maintaining the newly arrived transports and their fighter escorts. Ross tried peeking past the LT to see what awaited him, to his surprise the hangar wasn’t very large for a ship of this size. The LT stepped out and onto the hangar door, Ross and the rest of the marines in tow. Parallel to Ross was three other transports with marines unloading out of them, two transports on the sides of Ross’s also had men pouring out of it. The hangar itself had at least two hundred men assigned to running it, only ten A-50 interceptors sat prepared to launch at any moment with crews eagerly working on them.

The marines behind Ross seemed to be just as captivated as he was, their first tour was on one of the most prestigious ships in the Edonian navy. The some 700 marines began to march towards a set of large doors situated at the back of the hangar. Once through these large doors the hallway would suddenly branch off into multiple ones leading to different decks and sections of the warship. Ross’s platoon would be heading straight for their respective room, it took them about twenty minutes of walking to reach it. Once there the men would be set up to bunk with their squad mates. The room itself was large enough to hold a maximum of sixty soldiers, a platoon was only fifty men in the Edonian marines.

“Get off fucker, I called the top bunk.” Ross grabbed one of his squad mates and yanked him playfully off the top bunk, the smaller man whom he threw was laughing. “Listen here *******! I know where you live!” Ross had been friends with this man since they met in Boot camp and been assigned as battle buddies. His name was Michael, the man was born and raised in the slums of Feldspar with only his father to raise him, his mother had died in childbirth. They bonded over the fact that they were both raised by single parents and took solitude in this newfound companionship. Ross threw his bag on the top bunk after helping Michael up. “Ross, do you think we’ll be able to communicate with home from here?” Michael looked curiously at Ross as the two men began unpacking their things. Ross shook his head, “The only thing we will be able to talk to is the wall and each other Michael. Michael shrugged setting down a picture of his father down on his bed, he patted Ross’s back before turning to leave.

Ross watched his friend leave, he took out a photo of his mother and taped it to the wall of his bunk. After all of his items were unloaded he stuck his duffel bag into the locker by his bunk then walked up to the small window in the room. They were orbiting Tyrese I, a gas giant situated in the Feldspar system. In the distance the sister ship to the ENV Jericho, the ENV Mabel could be seen approaching surrounded by its escorts. The ship arrived two hundred kilometers from the Jericho, it’s shadow visibly being casted on one of the moons surrounding Tyrese I. Ross sighed then turned to see all of his peers preparing for the tour, the only thing in Ross’s mind would be the coming campaign. Everyone knew that the feathered menace would soon strike out and it would only be a matter of time until the Edonian’s were at war once more. Their tour guide arrived motioning for the platoon of marines to follow her, she was blonde and in her blue navy fatigues.

The group of men followed her out, Ross found his way to the middle of the group. The tour lasted a whole three hours, the ship was symmetrical but massive. Ross was already tired from his journey, the touring made him exhausted all he wanted to do was sleep. When the tour ended he headed straight back to his bunk, on his way he took time to admire the handywork of the engineers from the shipyard.

The Caliphate of Abdullah al-Mansur: Geography & History Volume I

Chapter III: The Home World, Amal

EFzzUDgXHBlUo1vWpKzA6mIDZVbamwnqaxjD44CZ_O9Nhn_K8LE0EPChv7OM7WhzmTsJrzB9a5EwTZGz2YGtnPSt5fGy-nBzdiU0WATAVO1dGjr8Bpkw-FLgxUcFt0jRMOZD_o05

An enhanced image of the desert world of Amal taken by the Harun Satellite, circa. 2144

Overview

Settled in 2143, Amal acts as the cradle of Eadni civilization after The Calamity. A world covered mostly in vast deserts and savannas, the planet proves remarkably reminiscent of that first cradle of the Eadni, Arabia. Upon arrival vast ecological and geographic surveys began in order to better understand the new capital of the Caliphate. The results of these surveys proved incredibly promising, yielding an extensive amount of natural resources that ensured prosperity during the early years of Eadni settlement.

Though Eadni are spread out across the planet in small settlements, two major metropolises act as the seat of culture and civilization. Madinat Amal serves as the beating heart of the Caliphate. From this city, the Caliph and the Mutamar issue the laws of the Caliphate and declare the policies that inevitably bring about prosperity to the people. The city is located in the heart of the continent of Al Arabiya Al Kabira and is straddled on either side by two rivers, the Kamal and the Al’Noor. Across the vast Al Muhit al Hadi Al Jadida on the continent of Harara, one finds the cultural center of the Caliphate, Al Jeddah. The more populous of the two cities, Al Jeddah sits on the coast and acts as the commercial capital of the Caliphate on Amal as well. Just beyond the city limits, one can begin to see the faint shadow of the massive Jabil Mudhhila mountain range. The range effectively separates the connected continents of Harara and Medinati, rising thousands of feet into the air. The mountains prove an incredibly popular tourist destination where thousands flock for skiing throughout the year.

In orbit above the homeworld, two large structures currently dominate the skies of Amal. The Grand Shipyard of the Caliphate employees thousands of workers and affords the Reformed Navy of The Caliphate with production capabilities unlike anything the previous regime might have conceived. It’s size and scale, at least according to pre-Calamity records, prove unmatched among other known human civilizations. To protect that shipyard and the homeworld itself, the second structure, Shajarat Eadni Al Jadida, provides massive firing support against incoming threats.

Several years ago, Hephaestus Enterprises purchased a system previously colonised by the PAR. It was a terribly silly place to colonise, really. Likely it had been a ploy to appeal to the Aurorans during the bidding over their colony. “See? We neighbour you too!” Excessive wastefulness was a hallmark of non-corporates. Though, being excessively wasteful was a hell of a lot of fun.

“So the Krauts do the swap and leave, yeah? And my HERMES admin gal, Miranda I think her name was, figures that a good way to make the place feel ‘new and fresh’ would be to rename the planet. Guess what these grease-necked miners voted to name it?”

Jim Bean, lead accountant and head of HERMES, sat in the chair opposite from Steven. His practised, toothy smile seemed to take up half of his rosy face. HERMES agents were known to smile for an unnaturally long duration, but no-one knew how they managed it. It was rumoured they had synthetic tendons planted in their cheeks, but Steve never saw any scars.

“Bill! They named the planet Bill! I tell you, boss--that Aurora union really buggered our branding. Everyone wants to name their dumb planets after their dogs, or something. What next, a planet named after a cheese?” Steven looked down on the little mining colony below him. His air-car swooped over the pock-marked landscape where workers pushed their laser-drills into the itoron-rich earth. In the distance, freighters were carting off the ore to Grand Ares to be processed. The colony was still too small to bother doing it here.

“Isn’t Jason supposed to be here?” Steven remarked, poorly masking the outright hostility in his voice. Jim was quick to notice this, and toned down his cheery attitude. “Mr Woolard is currently on Woolongong, sir. He’s preparing the payment to the Han-“

“Preparing the fuckin’ payment to the Han, hey?” Steven spat, his wrinkled face scrunched into a unpleasant scowl. “Buying up damn slaves-“

“Which you agreed to, sir.”

“Which I was pushed into agreeing with, Jimbo. You may have convinced those dimwits on the Board, but you haven’t convinced me. This is a PR nightmare. Hephaestus Enterprises purchasing slaves?!” Steven rubbed his temples in exasperation. “My dad would be hounding you out of his office with a bullwhip.”

Jim kept his gaze low and endured his employer’s fiery temper.

“You listen here, Jimmy my old mate.” Steven glared at his accountant with silent fury.

“If this hurts this Corporation’s PR, I swear to the Old Man, Christ and God himself that I will kick you so far down the ladder you’ll be sweeping streets on Aurora just to make ends meet. You understand? You live or die on this deal, Jim.”

The rest of the flight was pretty awkward.

Not only will it have upgrades to power-efficiency and damage output, it would also include dual-firing modes. The simplicity of laser-weapons would theoretically make swapping crystal arrays equally simple. So why not have a laser-rifle that could be switched to a scatter-laser at the press of a button? (-6AP, total of 19AP invested in laser-weapons)

-Yet more resources and technicians are sent to the Han Dominion for the construction of a battleship, and another heavy cruiser. (14AP)

-Further improvements are scheduled for the Hephaestus laser-lances. There will never be an end to the improvement. They will be improved until there is nothing left to improve upon. (-10AP, total of 44AP invested)

-The swarmer missiles are similarly improved alongside the lances. They are equally important for the corporate fleet, after all. (-5AP, total of 20AP invested)

“Tell me, do you know what the term ‘Call of the void’ means?”

President Whitmore said to the young man taking notes beside him.

“N-no sir I don't? What is it?” James Whitmore bit the tip of his tongue a little bit as he swallowed the last drops of drink from his crystal glass. Staring out the window of the vantage station in the direction of Keerim space. “You ever find yourself in a tall place, say the ledge of a cliff or a building and think to yourself, that to jump would surely mean death. But you are compelled to anyway?” The aide paused his writing with a stumble snapping the lead of his pencil “I suppose sir, I never really thought of it.” James Whitmore set his glass down on the oak desk behind him. “Its called the call of the void, and now you know.” Several seconds of silence passed by. “You weren't born on earth were you son?” Looking up the young man shook his head “No sir, my parents were but I was born on Iris.” James nodded “I should've thought so, we are a dying breed, I was but a boy on Earth. Tell me, Phill is it?” The younger man nodded “Yes sir, Phill, Newmann. I started here last week.” James nodded “What do they tell you about the United States in school, the old states of Earth?” Phill paused “Enough sir, we were taught that it was power-” James cut him off. “Not just powerful, a superpower, coast to coast, millions of people, democracy, apple pie. A far fall, we are not them anymore. We are barely a democracy, if you could even call it that.” The two men stood side by side as they stared out the large window “But times are changing, in the near future big things will happen for us Phill, just you wait and see.”

“As we step into this new era, I am proud to be chosen by the members of the Dominion to lead this federation for the next term, the next five years will see great increase in trade, military and population growth of the Dominion, to that I promise. But we must remember those who made this great federation possible, a great many people died to preserve humanity in the fight against Eadn, many lost their lives driving back the tyranny of THC and protecting the affiliation against the purge that many nations worked so hard to facilitate. Therefore, my first act as the Arbiter of the Dominion of Man is to declare today, June 21st. Thule day, in honor of the brave men and women of the Thulean Navy who put their foot down and tried to stop the THC northern battle group from purging the peaceful citizens of the Affiliation. Even though they all died in their endeavor their sacrifice allowed us the time we needed to intercept the battle group, their action undoubtedly saved hundreds of thousands of lives, and so this day, will be a federation holiday in memorial of those who helped it form.”

Activity

The Kingdom experiences a brief scare with the Redon demand, though all is ironed out through expert diplomacy from the King himself. The threat level subsided and a promising new era for Redon-Armathwaite relations which is expected to lead to expansion in friendly economic and peaceful relations between the two Monarchies for generations to come. The announcement of the engagement between Prince Henry of Armathwaite and the Second Princess of the Redon Imperium was cause for excitement as the first Royal Wedding between a Xeno and a human Royal. Markets looked strong and business is booming, everything for the time being was looking positive and had an optimistic outlook.

Edwards own popularity was boosted in this event, ensuring the freedom and liberty of the people and the businesses of Armathwaite in the face of what initially appeared as overwhelming odds strengthened the position of the Crown. Along with the excitement for two Royal Weddings in two years, though some were irritated that so much Capital was being put into these events, though for the majority it kept them happy and allowed them to look forward to something in the near future. Security however would be paramount, Armathwaite would not allow something like the ill fated Hades Conference to occur in its own Space.

Even with all the spending that was going on, Edward in his methods of austerity managed to find a way to ensure that Fleet Expansion could continue into this next year, outsourcing the work to his future daughter in law two new Light Cruisers would be able to be built and join the Royal Navy by the year's end, and at a cheaper cost than in Armathwaite. Keeping up with Admiral McGraw’s quota for yet another year keeping the Admiralty happy with the state of being at the next Armathwaite Corporation Meeting.

Special attention would be given to the Galaron Elections that were ongoing, Galaron Space was a promising new Market for the Free Economic Zone to enter within the next few years, while the Free Market Candidate does stand for everything the FEZ do, it was decided that they were too radical a side to choose, Moderate Candidates with reasonable Free Market Leanings would be chosen from what would be called the ‘Middle in the Road’ faction that appeared to reject the Hawkish Foreign Policy of the Galarons in the past and favoured loosening many economic restrictions and regulations.

Activity Points

The Naval Expansion Project continues, a construction order is placed with the contract being awarded to Knight Heavy Industries but outsourced to the Solar Ascendency. The order is for 2 Light Cruisers, resources and some engineers are sent to the Solar Ascendency to construct two new Light Cruisers in their Shipyards. (10AP)

An order would be placed for 200 new Gawain Suits (2AP)

The Design of the Strike Suit Fighter would be upgraded to include the latest technology available, i.e Shields and Xylorite Powersource. (1AP)

The Royal Wedding between the Crown Prince of Armathwaite and the Sovereign of the Solar Ascendency is planned to take place this very year. Preparations and large amounts of money are pumped into security to ensure the event is a safe one. All acting and some former heads of states of various alien nations are invited. The Royal Armed Forces of Armathwaite would be deployed to ensure that Armathwaite would be safe for this event, special care would be undertaken to ensure there were no repeats of the Hades Conference. (10AP)

The Bank of Armathwaite would begin part of the bailout package for Solar Ascendency Loans (2AP)

The Bank of Armathwaite decides to back the candidates that are middle in the road during the Galaron Elections, needing the Galaron Republic to be moderately strong but requiring them to take a less aggressive hawkish foreign policy while also maintaining somewhat loose restrictions on the market. The Bank and the Corporations Executives hope for many favours to be gained through this, such as lucrative banking deals. They would make Campaign Advertisements that only the Moderate Faction can rebuild and with the assistance of foreign banks they can fund the rebuilding of infrastructure and the Galaron Economy by in large. (8AP)

The Secret Project is put on hold due to other matters that require attention. (0AP, 29 Accumulated)

The Kingdom of Armathwaite announces the engagement between its Second Prince, Prince Henry, and the Second Princess of the Redon Imperium. It is expected that the wedding will be in the following year and resources will be allocated to it at the beginning of the next fiscal year. (0AP)

“Sir, the new board is awaiting you.”

“They can wait a few more minutes. Who accepted the positions from the council?”

“Only two… Saelesh accepted, very quickly at that. Also Logan said he would return under the VP of Finance.”

“Execellent. We have a new and challenging road ahead of us.”

“Yes we do sir. Now can you follow me?” She’d start tapping her foot impatiently. Having to deal with Johnny and keeping him on track was obviously a trying task. Her being his lifelong secretary, which was not a long time considering he recently came into the CEO position four years ago.

Johnny would shake his head from the stare at one of his books, “Yes. Sorry, you know I am hard to keep on track.” He flashed his smile towards her and she shook her head and flipped around to guide him down towards the boardroom.

=========================

As Johnny walked in, he looked across the face of every new member on the board. He had a healthy smile on his face. As did all of his board members, he nodded to each one before gliding his hand down the bend of the wooden table. He placed his hand on his chair and spun it to where he could sit down. As he did, he looked out and cleared his throat. “So first order of business?”

A blonde haired man with grey streaks in it would clear his voice, and adjust his glasses on his face. “Em, yes sir. You know me I am Logan Dial, now your VP of Finance. Now I suggest that we further our freighter fleets now that we are galactic franchise and more importantly a nation. We will have our supplies in high demand and the lack of freighters will hamper our ability to reach these shops with supply in time.” Logan nodded and adjusted himself in his seat.

“Good point. Approved. Anything else?” Johnny’s eyes darted around the room, his smile still on. He was content with the first project would be.

“No sir.” The group of people all shook their heads.

“Dismissed then.” He would nod to each one of them, “Let us begin our first days on a positive trend.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The King was sat behind a solid and metallic desk, it was coloured bronze, silver and gold and on it rested stacks of letters, documents and finely written notes. The King lay one arm across the desk and used the other to hold up a seemingly very official letter, he raised his free hand to his brow and sighed to himself. A loud buzzing noise resonated in the doorway and cause the King to look up, light flooded into the room and for a moment he shut his eyes and quickly raised one arm as if to call whoever opened the door inwards "Step in then, I'll be blind by the time you close that door!" The King growled, the door closed as Lyara stepped in to the office-like room "You said you needed help with something." She simply stated as she stepped towards the desk, looking down at all the paper "You do know that all of this mail can be computerised right?" She then continued on "I'm fully aware but Rickard has recently started sending all messages, reports and notes to me on paper, possibly because his little fit over me disagreeing with his anti Dominion of Man and anti Alien rhetoric." The King echoed out dropping the letter to the floor, Lyara quickly scooped it out and began to scan through it "When I retire you will either have to get rid of him or deal with his tantrums, and trust me he is good at his job, so the second option would be better." He continued on as Lyara read through this letter "Nothing on here is from his reports, looks like he's just ranting on about the Han, Dominion of Man and the non-human population." Lyara replied to him keenly "Why not just dispose of the letters and tell him to speak to you in person." "I spoke to him after the most recent council meeting and he simply ignored my orders to stop his ranting and continued on, I even asked Arthur to speak to him and that didn't help." The King stated to her "Read the bottom of the letter." Lyara quickly read through until she reached the bottom of the letter upon which a fine hand written message was left in bright red ink "Take action or I will." Lyara read aloud before furrowing his brow "You have the authority to do something why call me here?" The King looked up to her and tapped his fingers against the desk, one by one, before finally replying "I'm giving you authority over him, as my heir I expect you to go find him, and order him to stop, and if he refuses I want him brought to me to explain why he is being so troublesome." Lyara nodded and walked back over to the door, she clicked a button laying next to it and light flooded into the room, she quickly stepped outside of the room and looked around..

"Authority over Rickard now? My my, you are going places in the world, but the question is, will you be able to control him?" Claire questioned leaning against a wall as Lyara left the room and the door closed behind her "Did you just listen into our conversation?" Lyara quickly responded with a slight hint of shock "It's my job to know things Lyara, you should know this." Claire chuckled out, moving from the wall to Lyara, placing her arm around Lyara's shoulder "Let's go find that pesky Rickard shall we? Some of us are still loyal." Claire continued on as she laughed "Well I suppose you coming with me couldn't hurt." Lyara answered as Claire guided her down a corridor, eventually they reached a large window that looked down upon a shooting range, and stood below five men tested some recently acquired guns, with Rickard watching them, taking notes.

Lyara and Claire came down a set of stairs and reached the shooting range, instantly Rickard turned and said aloud with a cocky tone "Oh look who it is.." "Good to see you as well Rickard." Claire replied sarcastically before tapping on Lyara's shoulder and giving her a quick look, expecting her to say something, Lyara looked at her with confusion before Claire sighed "The King has given Lyara authority over you and she has came here to tell you to stop sending xenophobic letters to the King, and if you have any objections you may go and see him yourself." Claire continued, nudging Lyara slightly "Oh yes, that.." Lyara whispered rather nervously "Maybe next time you should let her speak instead of controlling her like a puppet and saying things for her Claire? I will speak to him about this and I refuse to let him control what I say." Rickard snorted as he turned and left the shooting range "That went better than expected?" Claire said as she guided Lyara away

The Han Dominion

Autumn, HSC 7

Year of the Horse

ugql1P-mmOtN2end-Lt1VxwUEp9qWcalUiaxJoIed_H10TbGFK9mWj-ZBWai8vRxv8Xz6bbJ4rf7_8Zrhg9ySehom97Z05bHDQHUgBr89PDkXvKY2mO_ELxlIdkC4wkwuwhCxvMJ

Most of the inhabitants of Huizhou had never heard of a “Gakree” before: even the most cosmopolitan among them couldn’t be bothered to make distinctions among Wairen farther away than the Ascardians. When the shipments began to arrive, then, they were caught completely by surprise.

Hundreds came to watch as the forlorn-looking arthropoids were unloaded, herded into orderly rows by the sting of electric batons. The Han officers seemed to take nearly as much pleasure in torturing the Gakree as their original Darkul captors, and the new arrivals soon learned that it was easier to simply do as they were told.

Some of the slaves were lucky: they would be shipped back out of the Dominion, to be sold into freedom among the Maltese, or others. But for most, their destiny lay deep within Han space, where they would live out their miserable lives working the rice fields for superior creatures. The Han had been told little about them, save that they were invaders. The Gakree were the lowest of the low among Wairen, a race of criminals that had sought to attack the entire Milky Way. They were to be treated with the utmost contempt.

----------

The pathetic procession was broadcasted all over the Dominion, even on the cold and desolate military colony of Taiyuan. Feng watched from the back of the room, sipping a cup of mediocre tea as his comrades laughed and jeered at the screen. For his part, he said nothing, but if he were to be honest, the edge of his mouth did curl up a bit.

“Enjoying the show?” came a voice at his shoulder, and Feng quickly snapped to attention. A shake of the head from the newcomer put him at ease, before his superior continued. “The Dao Yi tells me your father tried to stop the broadcast, and to have the Ar’gakari sent to Gansha instead. Why do you think that is?”

Feng looked to his side. General Shi Cheng was a thin man, with a likeable face...except for his eyes. Something about them, no matter how he looked at you, always seemed malicious. Feng still couldn’t get used to it, even after years of working for him.

“I suppose he could have just wanted them to get started sooner, sir,” answered Feng, guarded.

The general snorted, and turned on his heel, beckoning the younger officer to follow. “As if. The rat bastard was trying to hide the whole thing from someone, and I want to know who.”

“He is High Inspector, sir. He hides things from everyone. I should know, it’s not like he said two words to me for most my life.”

That got a chuckle. “Yimu’s a weak little man with a chip on his shoulder. He hides everything he knows, no matter how insignificant it is, just so he can feel superior when someone else doesn’t know it. It’s pathetic, and I’ve always let him know that, ever since we were kids.” Cheng looked to his side, continuing to walk. “You seem like you’re turning out alright. If you ask me, that car crash was the best thing that ever happened to you.”

Feng didn’t answer, beyond an almost-obligatory nod. The two strode together toward a quieter area of the base, where a wide window gave an excellent view of the tundra stretching below.

“Lieutenant Shi,” said the general at last, addressing his nephew formally as he came to a stop. “We have a problem.” Feng looked to him curiously.

“The appeasers of Yuguo think they’ve won,” Cheng continued. “The Dao Yi’s health is failing. They’re sending that Wairen-lover, Huang Jie out here to be his replacement. I’m supposed to...attest to the admiral’s death.” General Shi spat out the last few words, as if disgusted with the very idea of being complicit.

“And you’re not going to do it?”

There was a long pause before Cheng spoke again.

“No,” replied the general, in a voice full of resolve, his cruel eyes sweeping out across the landscape. “I have given the decision much thought. The Dominion was not built by those who compromised with Wairen, and it will not be sustained if the strong yield it to the weak. This softening has gone on too long.” He looked down to the lieutenant. “We’re going to put a stop to it.”

Feng withdrew, taken aback. “We?”

“You’ve proven yourself reliable, and what I have planned can’t be done alone. Help me, and we can take this planet for ourselves, and go on to return Yuguo to its proper state.”

“You mean a state without my father.” Feng was reluctant, and looked back out the window. “Sir...uncle, you know I can’t. Maybe he wasn’t particularly good at raising me, but he is my blood.”

“The Dominion is above blood, Feng,” replied Cheng. “And in any case...you share none with Yimu.” The general barely contained a wicked grin, as the comment got Feng’s attention. “He never told you, did he? Surely you knew your ‘mother’ was barren?”

Feng only shook his head, his eyes wide. Cheng nodded.

“I can show you who your real family was, Feng, and how my brother stole you from them. But I can guarantee it won’t be easy to watch.” Cheng’s eyes held no trace of sympathy, but in the shock of the moment, his adoptive nephew didn’t think to notice.

“First though...I need your help.”

----------

In the year 2146 by Earth’s calendar, but merely the 7th by the Han’s, disaster strikes the Dominion. Unanimously elected by the four Daos on Yuguo, Huang Jie travels to Taiyuan, where he is to await the death of the Dao Yi so as to quietly replace it. Upon arriving, however, the admiral finds that the Dao has miraculously recovered his health. The reason quickly becomes obvious to the psychic: the Dao Yi is not the Dao Yi, but in fact general Shi Cheng, reported killed weeks earlier in a freak microwave accident. The whereabouts of the original Dao are unknown and remain so, as in the course of his subsequent investigation Jie is attacked by a significant force led by none other than the son of Shi Yimu.

Barely escaping the planet, Admiral Huang finds his frigate under attack by a significant number of modified shuttles, but unfortunately for the attackers, space battle is Jie’s element. Easily able to fend off the ambush, he returns to Yuguo unscathed, though with the loss of many companions.

Over the next few days the situation becomes clear: a coup has occurred on Taiyuan, and the highly-militarized planet has stopped responding to orders. The imposter soon publicly declares itself the legitimate Dao Yi, though it remains to be seen to whom military divisions elsewhere in the Dominion remain loyal. For now, Taiyuan braces for a siege: the incensed government on Yuguo dispatches both of its destroyers to secure the outskirts of the system and prepare to put down the insurrection. Though the forces there have no ability to leave the planet for now, there is little hope for a rapid solution: the snowy world holds more soldiers than any other colony in the Dominion, and they have had years to dig in.

Compounding the problem facing the central government is the influence that Zeng Xue, psychic leader of the Triple Crescent movement, has garnered among the next-largest force: the garrison of Yuguo. The soldiers prove resistant to the idea of going to battle without Xue’s blessing, and Xue himself seems unwilling to give it for mystifying reasons. While the Daos bicker about the course of action, it quickly falls to Shi Yimu to contain the situation…

----------

Despite major tensions suddenly flaring within Dominion borders, news of the occurrences is muted to the outside galaxy, although those with a presence in Huizhou begin to hear rumors of battle lines being drawn. For all intents and purposes, the Han state functions as well as it always has, with diplomatic overtures reaching the right people, and goods traveling to the right places. As the Han population continues to steadily grow, a new colonial freighter is commissioned out of the continuously-expanding Beijing Stronghold, to claim a new world shortly.

Meanwhile, Han engineers continue their work with plasma weaponry, building off the sturdy pistol design to attempt a more powerful rifle, to be used more commonly among the Dominion armed forces.

To be christened the Shengli rifle, the weapon is to be of the highest quality possible, sparing no expense. After all, what the engineers learn here will need to be applied aboard ships...

Andorra la Nova : Princes’ Office

Prince Pablo marched into the office and slammed his hand onto Josè’s desk.

Josè sighed, “What do you want today? What do you need my consent for?”

“Guns! We need cool guns! Everyone else has cool guns! Why don’t we get any!”

“We don’t need guns Pablo, we’re not under any threat from hostile foreign

interference. It’s pointless.”

“No it’s not! I mean we don’t have any idea what those sneaky Darkul are up to!

And who’s to say that some big bad alien, or maybe even human, won’t

spontaneously decide they want our territory just because they can take it! We

need to prepare! We need GUNS! If you don’t gimme the goods I’ll alert the

media!”

Josè sighed, “I swear, you act like an infant wailing to get burped sometimes. But

fine, I will make a compromise. How about we buy a shipment of some guns from

that new Texan company, the L.S.A.A., I believe it is called. I hear their

equipment is at the least very competent in the current stage of warfare. I

believe we could even arm our entire army with just a single order.”

Pablo smiled gleefully, “Good, now the fleets of our enemies will quake in their

boots as they see our mighty men march upon their worlds with weapons of mass

destruction!”

Josè looked back at his papers and feigned a smile, “Yeah, yeah. How about you

go let Fernando know about that, so he can plan an attack.”

Pablo marched back out the door, and slammed it behind him.

Josè leaned over to tap his intercom, “Hey, Fernando. Pablo is headed your way.

He still needs his morning coffee, so give him a little grace until he wakes up,

alright?”

Fernando’s voice crackled over the intercom, “He wants me to invade the black

hole again, doesn’t he?”

Josè said one final utterance as he turned off the speaker, “Good Luck.”

Despite all odds, Pablo got his guns, but the black hole is safe for now.
