OKUDKREESH 7 Share Posted January 13, 2018 (edited) Andorra Andorra la Nova : Palace Balcony Pablo relaxedly lied in his chair, gazing out upon the starlit city, with a sparkling cider in hand. He took in the grand atmosphere and took a sip from his glass. “We have come so far, forty years since we left earth, but only eight since we’ve met the rest of humanity.” “Time certainly flies fast, does it not?” said Sonia calmly as she walked up beside him. Pablo sighed, “Yes, too fast for my taste. Wars erupting left and right, more political dramas than I can count on my hands, and here in our little corner of space the Andorran people live on peacefully, but for how long? It is a lot to take in.” “This job is making you too old, darling. I think you need to take a break.” “I cannot turn back the clock. My body will age no matter what I do.” Sonia laughed lightly, “No, I mean old of mind. You could be the most ancient relic and still be a young man at heart. Oh, If you remember my father you know what I mean.” Pablo smiled, fondly remembering, “Hah, yes. He was a lively one, never quit. Perhaps I should reevaluate my thinking. I am getting too old, too soon.” “Yes, think about the goodness that still persists, and have hope. I know that things will continue to be difficult, and the politics won’t stop anytime soon. But there is always something to be glad about. After all, the people are healthy, the economy is growing, you have a beautiful wife.” She winked. “Yes, I think I should take a small recess to recuperate and think about all that I have to be happy about. Spend some more time in prayer and with the Lord. Surely José and Isabella can handle the country by themselves for little bit.” “I’ll go let them know about it, you can stay here.” Pablo got up and stretched out his arms, ”No, I’ll tell them myself in the morning. Tonight I want to spend some time with you.” Summary AP Collection Total: 24 (+ 10 Just this Turn) Base - 4 Population - 1 Additional Territories - 2 Proximity to Trade Federation - 1 TF's National Idea - 2 Trade - 6 Member of CCS (Prosperity Fed) - 6 Neutrality National Mentality - 2 (.2) White Suit Bonussss (Just this Turn) - 8 Funds from Solar Ascendancy (Just this Turn) - 2 AP Usage -H.I.P.S. scientists rejoice as they make some progress on their cloaking fields, and they push forward on to completion (10 + 50% = 15 AP). -Project EVE is adopted from the Solar Ascendancy, and scientists get straight to work on developing this promising tech (10 + 50% = 15 AP). -The Andorran shipyard produces one Destroyer, one Frigate, and one Corvette this year (6 AP). -An expansion to the existing trade outpost on Mindesorra begins this year (4/10 AP). -Envoys are sent to New Siam bringing workers and resources to be at the command of Siamese leaders. Praetor 1548 Share Posted January 13, 2018 The Trade Federation The FFS North Sea moved like a dancer in a crowd of drunkards. Its sleek white hull flashed like a beam of sunlight amidst the hulking carcasses of a dozen dead monstrosities. A bolt of energy, sickly green in hue and nearly as wide as the ship itself flashed above its bridge, missing by a mere dozen meters. The lance continued until it smashed into a faraway ship, the impact roiling through space and sending dozens of pieces of molten slag flitting through the void, set on a course for infinity. “Stay away from their line guns,” snapped Captain Eldrige, standing amongst a flurry of activity upon the bridge. She glanced around her at the crew quickly, before refocusing her attention upon the large holographic display in front of her. Her people were well trained, drilled when she could and trained in simulators when the upper echelons of the government said they could 'afford' it. It was not enough, but they were holding up better than she had expected. She snorted, Admiral Chance Tike had not deemed it necessary to drill his crew as much as she and now he was a million atoms, floating freely through space. “Focus fire on the cruiser, ID 12.” She tapped the holoboard, highlighting said ship. Something had hit it full on, and large chunks of armor and hull were floating away from the cruiser as it listed heavily to the side, its engines and thrusters unaligned and powering it down, down, towards the planet below. “Move to align and fire into the breach. Focus on the engine block, don’t let it get close to the planet.” Her voice stayed cool, but inside, Eldrige felt as if a nervous current of electricity was bouncing through her system ad infinitum. This was a pitched battle of the likes that she had never experienced before. The North Sea slid along the still burning ruins of a Replicant cruiser, gigantic cables whipping out of the broken hull and smacking the hull, sparks flying upon contact. For a moment, the room went dark. A cold sweat broke down Lily’s back as she clutched the railing around the holoboard tightly. It was a calculated risk by the pilot, as smart as it was stupid. Concealing yourself from enemy fire didn’t count for anything if it disabled you. She would have words with him, if they survived. Then, the ship broke away from the wreck and burst forth, skimming under a quartet of Ymorian fighters chasing down a replicant bot. A cloud of debris blew away from in front of the North Sea with the shock of a nearby explosion and suddenly, the unaligned cruiser was in front of them. Almost immediately, a burst of green energy shot alongside the hull, searing the North Sea’s armor and Lily flinched. “Align and fire, all guns!” she commanded, her hands tightening around the Bridge's railing. Another laser barely avoided their shields as the pilot dipped the ship a fraction. Maybe she wouldn’t have to dress him down that bad, she thought as the laser shot past them and lost itself within the vicious melee behind them. “Firing.” said one of the officers, before pressing a button. The vessel shook as every available railgun unloaded upon the crippled ship. For an instant, Lily held her breath. Then, a flash of light, a blooming flower of fire, a ripple shaking the deck beneath her and the wounded cruiser exploded, its final cry of agony taking the shape of a last volley of weaponfire, shooting far off to their right and into the void, escorting its crew to whichever hell they were destined for. Lily let out a shaky breath and flicked an imaginary speck of dust from her shoulder, straightening herself and wiping the worried look from her face. “Well done, sailors,” she said as a few smiles and woops went through the bridge. “No time for celebration, get us back into the fight, Pilot!” ——— For a mere moment, Lily relived the birth of the Universe. A brilliant flash of light, more powerful than a thousand nuclear missiles flashed in front of her, her eyes spared only by the grace of the FFS North Sea’s dense, dark transparisteel portholes. All around her, color morphed to darkness as shadows flashed through the ship, and as if paralyze in time, everything and everyone stood still. Nexus cracked, deep within its core the light grew stronger and stronger, until its titanic bones snapped like so many twigs blown away by a cosmic wind. Metal splintered and exploded outwards with all the violence of an angry god, sending shards of steel the size of battleships careening through space. “Brace!” yelled Lily, knowing all too well what was to come. She ducked instinctively and grabbed onto her command chair, her fingers bone-white against the dark wood. A shockwave followed the sharpnel like a deadly twin, evaporating its brother with a swift strike of immeasurable heat. Nexus glowed so bright Lily thought her eyes might burn away into embers, but she couldn’t tear them away from the ghastly sight, as the symbol of the Federation’s might disappeared before her eyes in an ever-expanding orb of energy. The FFS North Sea’s hull smoked and steamed and turned cherry red as the station finally disappeared within the confines of its own fires and the terrible stream of destruction smacked into the assembled fleet, no more than a hundred kilometers away. Lily watched with squinted eyes as a small corvette received the brunt of the explosion. The frail ship looked like an ant beneath a boot as it flipped over with the impact and almost immediately snapped in half, the shattered corpse expelling its crew like so many vermin, into space. Lily had lived through a few skirmishes with belligerent mercenaries or pirates before, and survived a terrible battle above the burning Nexus but a few moments ago. Her ship had taken hits, shuddered as its shields and armor struggled to hold back the impact of violent green energy. The explosion was like nothing before. It nearly blew away her ship, sending it reeling through space with alerts blaring and a failing reactor. “Adjust course, power emergency reactor! Get engineering to shut down the main!” she yelled, clinging to her seat as the small frigate’s tortured hull screeched in protest, metal crying out in agony as it twisted and bent beneath the strain. She reached out and grabbed a private as he nearly fell to the ground, a gash on his forehead. “Get to Doctor Chelsy, make sure she’s ready for wounded and get treated!” she yelled over the hubbub of orders and cries of pain. It took five minutes for the red lights to stabilize and the bridge to regain some semblance of quietude as the ship re-aligned and engines powered back up once again. Lily crawled out of her chair and pushed herself against the railing, standing as straight as she could while nursing a growing bruise on her thigh. “Captain,” said the comms officer, slowly turning towards her with a stricken look. “Admiral Chance Tate is reported as dead by High Command.” Lily leaned back and kept her lips in a tight line as she stared around the bridge. Mostly human crew, aliens were still not fully implemented into the Navy. Only a few cevelli scattered around. They all looked scared, she could feel the heavy weight of tension upon her shoulders as it sank down across the room, a mantle of fear for her crew. She cleared her throat and nodded. “Then I am assuming command of the fleet.” Or what's left of it, she thought, barely holding back a grimace. “Round up the remaining ships and order the Ymorians to check for survivors, pods and Replicants. I must speak to Commander Aldaar.” Actions 41AP The Trade Federation, led by the decision of council member Miranda Thresh, decides to expand the trade capacity of GTC-2, in the ‘east’ of the galaxy. It takes the name of Citadel. With the contributions of the FEZ, Citadel already outsizes Nexus by a significant amount, and has the capacity to ferry and manage massive amounts of trade. (20AP) ((T3 Trade Station. (T6 with FEZ combined.)) Project Ruthless Monkey continues in the jungle. _pok_ 1759 Share Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) The Union of the Lily & The Crescent Anno Domini MMCXLVIIIسنة ٢١٤٨ As the Erakat Caliphate prepares to once again embrace the galactic community, it finds a friend in the Maltese Holy Reign. In the days prior to the fall of the Holy Kingdom, collaboration between the Eadni and Maltese made possible various diplomatic and technological advances impossible for either nation, or any other human state for that matter, to complete on their own. Because of the incredible bond forged between these two peoples through both war and peace, the Erakat’s saw fit to select the Maltese as the Caliphate’s chief partner in introducing themselves once again to humanity, and with the collapse of relations with the rest of the Interstellar Accord, the Habsburgs turned to the Caliphate to become its greatest ally once again.---Pillars of the UnionI. Mutual DefenseBoth nations pledge to defend one another in the case of conflict whether the threat human or alien. The full naval forces of both nations stand primed to strike in defense of the new Union. II. Trade PartnershipFor the first time since the collapse of the Holy Kingdom, the Caliphate will begin openly trading with a human nation. Maltese ships will be given access to Caliphate controlled regions and transport goods freely between the Caliphate and Maltese space, and vice versa. III. Research CollaborationWhile no requirements shall be decreed about technology sharing, projects between Maltese and Eadni researchers are encouraged and will be well funded by both governments. This research spans all fields with no special focus given to any sector. IV. Religious DialogueDespite doctrinal differences between the state religions of Malta and Eadn, religious leaders from both nations decided to maintain strong dialogue and education on the respective religions of their peoples. This includes frequent conferences, open religious debate, and thorough discussion about Abrahamic religion’s place in the twenty-second century. V. Commitment to Combat With the knowledge that past conflicts could have been won with a heavier focus on discipline and acting in accordance with naval doctrine, the Eadni and Maltese jointly agree that any retreats from battle are to be ordered only, and by all, admiral or general level commanders present at the engagement. “...a sacrilegious union of the lily and the crescent” Edited January 14, 2018 by _pok_
Catostrophy 111 Share Posted January 15, 2018 (edited) Is Weapon Manufacturing the Next Boom Industry? Read More at HEPH-NET! The bright, tropical sun shone down on the pearl-white sand of Aphrodite’s beaches. The resort planet’s profits had gone down during the last batch of wars, and business had slowed down with yet another looming on the horizon. This was tragic for the hotel chains, but for someone desiring a quiet beach getaway, this was perfectly fine. The soft breeze and rolling waves were only broken by the gurgling of the baby happily grasping the finger of CEO Steven Penrith. Steven doted on the child since he first laid eyes on her, and wheezed out laughter every time little Sinchil smiled. His wife and secretary, Sally, also seemed pleased, though she was up to her third glass of wine since her future daughter-in-law Aleya had arrived. Johnny stared silently out towards the ocean while his father and fiancé talked. “We met during the first semester, my Johnny and I,” chirped Aleya. Her Terraskolarian accent reminded Steve of the French, and he had even mistaken her for a Thulean at first. “When he arrived at the academy, I was volunteering in secretarial work. I believe he made a pass at me, but I’m unsure. His Firstborn was quite eclectic." She giggled at the memory. "Soon enough, he joined the academy himself, and started appearing in the same lessons as I. Such a wonderful coincidence, no?” Steven nodded, though his attention was still plainly on baby. “Well we got to talking and the rest,” she looked to John with a soft smile, “well, the rest you can probably guess.” “Yeah yeah. We can work out the logistics of the situation, sweetheart.” Another round of wheezing laughter struggled its way out of Steven’s mouth. “I never thought I’d live to see grand-kids.”“I was so surprised to learn that John was not Terraskolarian. Our species are oddly similar in appearance, aren’t they?” Aleya smiled warmly as she joined Steve by the cradle. “I always wanted to be a mother. I am not a talented psionic, but I joined the academy anyway since my family insisted. But John, he is so talented. He dazzled everyone with his abilities...”“Yeah, I’ll be sending him back to that academy after the wedding. He needs to finish that education of his, don’t you Johnny?” Steven’s gaze broke from Sinchil, and wafted to John. His eyes had a dangerous gleam. “He’s a very responsible young man, and he’ll be working very, very hard so he can come back to his new family. Won’t you, Johnny?” “He’s going back?” Aleya looked between Steven and John with a forlorn expression. “I had hoped he would spend more time w-““No no no, lovey! We never waste an investment. But don’t worry—we’ll make sure you and the little one here will be very comfortable. Hades is a little ah, grittier than Aphrodite, but you’ll be in the lap of luxury. Besides, we can’t really afford to hold a properly lavish wedding or pay for his next round of education until next year. Bloody war.”Aleya immediately perked up. “So it means John will be here until next year?”“That’s right, sweetie! And I’m sure he’ll be very pleased to spend every moment he can with you. Because my John is a responsible, gracious fiancé. Aren’t you, Johnny, mate?"Johnny Penrith said nothing. His mother poured herself another glass of wine. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The monolithic HCAC tower loomed over the chaotic sprawl of factories, warehouses and businesses that littered the surface of Hades. Far above the wafting smog and milling throngs of traders, industrialists, and entrepreneurs, a man with the most difficult job in the Corporation was preparing himself for a drunken bender. Jim Bean, lead negotiator, lead accountant, and administrator for the HERMES program poured himself a glass of synthetic brandy. He wouldn’t usually indulge in drinking during office hours, but frankly he was at the end of his tether. His bloodshot eyes and the bags beneath them spoke volumes of his workload. The scattered papers and data-pads around his previously pristine office seemed to reflect the frustration and stress his job brought. He just had to hold off from drunkenness for just a little longer—he just needed to smile his way through the interview and then inebriated oblivion awaited. A gentle tap on his door announced the arrival of his guest. Jim quickly flattened his hair, forced out his smile and cleared his throat. “Come on in, mate.” After a few moments of fiddling with the door-handle, a small, orb-like creature skittered into the room. Its small, grasping mandibles were a little short to reach most human-sized doors, and it waited awkwardly in the doorway. Jim immediately stood up, and cheerily gestured towards the chair in front of his desk. “Sit on down Mr Gnrry- ah, Gnrruyg-““Do not worry, Mr Bean.” Boomed a deep, synthesised voice from the Grgl. Jim could hear faint chirps and gurgles beneath the voice’s unnatural sound--clearly the Grgl was using an advanced translator. It was possibly one of the new models that could translate inflections and tone, judging from how the voice sounded somewhat sympathetic. He could have sworn he heard a similar voice in an old sci-fi movie he saw a while back. “I understand that the Xaplonius standard speech is terribly difficult for your species. I have already chosen a new name that reflects the culture of Hephaestus Enterprises, and my desire to integrate myself further into the Corporation. You may call me Jimothy Sonjohn.”“Right, so ah, Jimothy.” Jim took a moment to gather up some of the papers on his desk, if nothing else than appear to be in control of his surroundings. “I’ve been looking over your accomplishments during the last few years. McPhaestus was a dying franchise, and you turned it completely around. You’re the owner of almost half the family restaurants in corporate space, am I right?” Jimothy bounced in his seat with a flurry of excited chirps clearly audible over the translation. “I am very proud of my efforts. Furthermore, I am deeply pleased that you have noticed.”“Hard not to, Jimmy my friend. Look, here’s the rub of the situation.” Jim Bean could feel the muscles in his cheeks begin to wobble. After nearly 36 hours of ceaseless smiling, they were starting to get tired. He needed to end this chat quickly. “Another war is gearing up, we have a whole heap of money going to different places, and I’m running three departments. I’d like to offer you the position of lead accountant.” The tiny grgl’s black eyes blinked at him for a moment. It’s mandibles covered its chirping mouth in what was possibly shock. “I am surprised. I am also bewildered. I am also frightened. I am also happy. I am experiencing oscillating emotions,” the translator boomed. “Ha! That’s fantastic, Jimmy-my-man!” Jim Bean tossed a data-pad towards the Grgl, who caught it clumsily. “Right. There are all the figures. You start tomorrow!” “Tomorrow?” The grgl exclaimed with a tinge of confusion. “This amount of time is simply too short to accustom myself to my new duties and-”“Yeah it’s great, huh? Straight to the grindstone! Nose right up in the arse of Corporate issues! You’re one hell of a team-player, Sonjohn!” Jim Bean quickly began to bustle the confused Grgl out of his office. “Give me a call in a week and tell me how it’s going, baby! We’ll do lunch! Really hash out the knitty gritty! Ciao ciao!” He closed the door before the grgl could utter another word. As the confused Jimothy quickly pitter-pattered his way off to his own office, the former lead account proceeded to get extraordinarily drunk. It appeared he’d be having a long weekend. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Action Points 4AP by default, 20AP from trade, 6AP from population, 10AP from sectors, 3AP from business, 6AP from industry, 2AP from the Trade Federation, 1AP from cargo capacity. 30AP from Redon Imperium (One turn only) Total = 82AP BONUSES: -Ravenous Industrialism: -5AP off industry investments, +25% manufacturing output. -National Idea, Peace: 1% extra growth on primary population. -What's better than a large manufacturing order from a massive and wealthy empire? Zanderaw 161 Share Posted January 17, 2018 (edited) The Han Dominion Spring, HSC 8 Year of the Monkey Merely the dawn of year 8 by the Han calendar, but by the calendar of Earth it has been 40 years since the Human race first left their home, never to return. In this, the year 2148, humanity at last stands united. Though the hour is dire, though the threats are many, though they still may not survive the winter, in every Human heart that knowledge rings true. On every world, in every nation, the same cry goes out: “long live our people.” ---------- Shuichuan, Insurrection Colony Shi Feng could only look up at the sky in shock. Above him drifted the ruins of his fleet, nearly two dozen improvised warships now scattered in orbit. But the bombardment had never come. Even as he watched, the great warships of Utopie and Yuguo disappeared in the flashes of quantum jumps, vanishing as quickly as they had come. His second, a lean older captain, reached his side. The two watched the debris fall through the night sky for a moment as tropical waves rolled in, before he spoke. “Why?” Feng shook his head. “I don’t know. The admiral isn’t one to turn down a victory. Something more important must have come up.” “It could be a trick. Your father is a crafty man.” “My f-” Feng bit his tongue. “Shi Yimu kidnapped me from my father. After having him killed. He isn’t crafty. He just doesn’t care how many of his own people he puts to death.” The captain nodded. “The men don’t seem to have noticed there was even a battle. They’re celebrating the colonization, with the settlers. I have to say, I didn’t expect them to get along so easily.” “Why wouldn’t they? They’re all Han, and we have just conquered a new planet.” Slowly, the last of the visible debris burned in the atmosphere, leaving behind only stars. “Should we tell them, then?” “Tomorrow. When they’ve gotten all of this...celebration out of their systems. For now, we may as well join them.” He turned to the captain, shock and sadness replaced with determination. “When we win, we’ll be better than Yimu. Whatever that was...” He gestured to the sky. “It was a gift. We dust ourselves off, and we get back to work.” “For a stronger Dominion, sir.” “For a stronger Dominion.” --------- Captured Imperial Cruiser Taiyuan “...though your life is forever your own, you must never forget who you are. A time will come, when…” On board the cruiser Taiyuan, Jie stopped his letter for a moment as the fleet completed its jump to Arcturus. At last, he had arrived on the edge of human space, ready to accept a new command. Ready to embark on another war. The admiral stood up, walked to the window, and with his tired eyes looked over the assembled fleet. It was hardly the Ka’cezh imperial navy. But it was a start. Arcturan ships drifted alongside KUS vessels, as the Utopian delegation moved to join them. In time, the Solarins and Maltese too would arrive. Around them all swarmed the Lithruan combined navies, the true muscle here. But this time, the humans would give as good as they got. Supreme Commander of the Eastern Front, the coalition had named him. Jie hardly felt very supreme, surrounded by the full might of the Lithruans, but that had not stopped him when he accepted the assignment, and it did not deter him now. Duty was duty; his talents were the talents of his people. “Captain,” he spoke, activating his intercom to the bridge. “Inform our hosts of my arrival, and arrange a meeting with their commanders. I want to reassure them that their experience with this enemy will not go underutilized. And request a meeting with the Lithruan commander, as well; I want to know who I’m dealing with. You have my schedule.” There was a short moment before the simple response came back: “Yes, sir.” Jie nodded, and gazed a moment to the east, into the blackness of space. How many Keerim were out there? A trillion? Two? Perhaps he would find out soon. The admiral turned on his heel and walked back to his desk, where he continued to write. “...A time will come, when you will have to choose what…” ---------- Onboard spaceliner Remvate, somewhere north of the Protorian Council “when you will have to choose what truly matters to you, and once you make that choice you must never retract it. Do not hold back, do not falter. For there is much to give in you, and if you hesitate you will only limit yourself.” Had it come from anyone else, Hanying would have had to stifle a laugh. Many old men had tried to give her advice over the years. Most of the ones worth listening to were gone forever. She owed it to Jie to listen, though. He was the one who had pushed her to explore her abilities. When she was cast adrift after Salraku’s death and Chaal’s disappearance, it had been he who offered guidance. “He wants me to go back home,” she mused, smiling at the screen. It was transparent who he meant when he talked about devotion to a cause. The man’s loyalty to his nation had never flagged, not once, not in her entire lifetime. Of course he wanted her to come back; he’d probably consider it a small betrayal if she didn’t. Or perhaps he just missed her. That’s what Chaal would have thought. She had always had a talent for thinking the best of everyone. The thought came nearly by surprise, and suddenly Hanying was full of conflicting emotions. Of course Jie missed her. She certainly missed him. And Chaal. And Salraku. But that was precisely why she would not go back. There were no answers for her on Yuguo; there was nothing to salve the yearning and guilt she felt every time she closed her eyes to sleep. Put perhaps….perhaps where she was going now, there would be. Yes. There surely would be. Hanying pushed the thought under, and shut off the console - she could respond to the letter later. She drew herself to her feet, raised her chin, curled her lips into their usual wry smile, stepped from her cabin to the corridor. It was still nearly an hour until the spaceliner would serve dinner, but there was usually someone interesting in the main lounge. She’d find a way to pass the time, as she always did. ---------- The Capitol Palace, Xin Xi’an Yimu leaned back in his office, hands clasped behind his head. For the first time in months, he felt optimistic. Just when it had seemed that his influence was waning, just as it had seemed obvious that he could not control the pace of events, the war had happened. Suddenly, the Daos were looking beyond their borders. Suddenly, his brother and son’s rebellion was no longer the greatest crisis facing the Han. Suddenly, the armies and fleet of the Dominion would all be leaving its territory. It would fall to him then, Shi Yimu, to deal with the tumor within. That meant he could select where to attack first. He could negotiate, could appeal to the other side. Perhaps he could begin to mend his broken life. There was so much work to do, but for the first time all year, he couldn’t bring himself to think about it. For nearly an hour he sat, contemplating the future as the rain outside slowed and finally dried, before he finally leaned forward to pick up the phone. And when he did, it was neither a superior nor a subordinate that he called. For the first time in too long, it was his wife. ---------- In the year 2148, the combined leadership of all humanity convenes in the city of Huizhou, where each of their disparate federations vows to unite in a grand coalition. But such drastic actions need drastic catalysts: the triple alliance of Kalronians, Darkul and Keerim threatens to upend the galactic order, and to meet this threat every surviving enclave of mankind prepares for war. In the city of Xin Xi’an, the news takes the populace by storm. For nearly a week straight, each billboard serves the state, blaring new announcements every hour. The most despicable of Wairen, united in an unholy alliance to destroy the Dominion’s glory! The survivors of Earth, united behind the leadership of Yuguo! A mighty fleet assembled! Hundreds of thousands of loyal men, prepared to drive back the Wairen horde! War fever grows like wildfire within the Dominion, and the first transport to leave bearing the finest of Yuguo’s soldiers is seen off by no less than ten thousand adoring civilians. Every other day, it’s the same. The marching of jackboots through the city becomes a regular sound as regiment after regiment is transferred from training grounds in the north to the spaceport in the south. But by year’s end, 50,000 men leave Xin Xi’an, mustering on the Imperial world of Novum Dovum alongside Edonian regulars. All around the city, the factories of the Han turn to a new purpose: unceasing, relentless war. Churning out materiel in all forms, they send a constant stream of ammunition, body armor, and packaged rice to the front, and along with this the first batch of the devastating Shangli rifle, a weapon engineering to tear through any variety of defense. The workers within these arsenals of the Dominion are pushed to greater heights of productivity than ever before, the droids run on double speed. Everywhere in the city, the war is placed first. The Han civil war suddenly seems a secondary concern: grounded on their stolen planets, they can be dealt with as necessary. Furthermore the Triple Crescent declares that it is the holy duty of the Han to go out into the universe and lead their lesser cousins into victory. Thousands of eager recruits begin to enter training as the true enemy is revealed. In the skies above Yuguo, hundreds of construction drones swarm around Beijing Stronghold as the great shipyard is pushed to its fullest capacity, every worker constantly hurrying to meet their demands. In the largest drydocks, not one but two mighty dreadnoughts enter construction, to enter the service of the Hephaestus corporation. Around them, the Han too are busy: to meet the demand of troop movements, a new freighter has been commissioned to ferry Han soldiers to the front. But above all this greater changes are ongoing, as the greater Dominion of Man steels its resolve and prepares for the great war. The declaration goes out from Huizhou and from the arbiter in the USA: henceforth, the purpose of the Dominion shall be what it was always formed to do. To fight, and to win. On each planet, propaganda that only the Han are used to floods the airwaves. On each planet, the old flags fly amongst more and more of the one flag that matters: that of the greater Dominion. The dusty remnants of the lie that had been “equality” are stripped away throughout each center of Dominion authority. Those that resist are sent for re-education or worse, but their replacements have already set about their glorious work. The new generation shall be raised as warriors, to fight without fear or hesitation under the eagle and the dragon. By the strength of their arms and the volume of their blood, the universe shall be conquered. And so in factories, barracks, shipyards all across the galaxy, the Dominion of Man puts every ounce of its strength into restructuring, into forging itself into a single, united weapon. And so, the same manic preparation that engulfs Yuguo engulfs the human galaxy. With the sons and daughters of earth united under a single purpose, none can say what the result will truly be... ---------- Han Stats Link: Everything you need is right here czar^^^^^ Summary Federation change penalty [10 AP, pending changes?] Constructing a medium freighter, for troop transport [4 AP] From the factories of Yuguo, the first batch of the new Shangli rifle is produced, ready to be sent against the Dominion's enemies. _Noah_ 4 Share Posted January 19, 2018 The Kingdom of Unified Systems Fleet + Info ^ Czar -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- News of the Coalition of Humanity arises across the KUS worlds of Zukaden-II and New Stafford, Citizens are filled with joy of being united once more with their fellow humans, but also of fear stemming from the new "Triple Alliance." The Grand Fleet arrives at the rendezvous and drifts alongside the Arcturan and Han fleets, tensions run high aboard the KUS ships, this will be their first taste of combat. The Commanders of the KUS ships are eager to assist Jie, who seems to have gained popularity among some in the KUS military, from Recruit to Admiral. ------------------------------------------------------- The Council was all sat around the table, all looking rather irritated at this abrupt meeting, Richard quickly spoke up to the others "Now, important Earth-Based files have gone missing from the locked room in Engineering-Bay twenty, I want to know if any of you had any idea who it was." Most of the table looked confused and just stared at the King, watching his growing irritation and worry before Rickard finally spoke up "I'd head an investigation if that is what you desire my liege." Richard nodded once to him before placing one hand to his head "Report anything directly to me." He simply stated, and with that the council all stood and began to exit the room. Rickard grinned to himself as he looked upon Zukaden City, his plan had worked, however his agent had been sloppy, this irritated him greatly, for a pawn was useless if it lied to it's master. Rickard turned from his view of Zukaden City to see a small group of men armed with old Rattler rifles, Rickard looked at them in slight confusion before one stepped forward and saluted "We've been assigned to help with your investigation sir." The man said rather emotionless, "Yes, I'd like people patrolling the corridors, especially any visitors can enter through." Rickard replied in a commanding voice, the man lowered his salute and made a variety of hand signals to his comrades before they all marched down the grey corridor, Rickard chuckled to himself as they marched away, soon he would have enough power to execute his plan, with the fleet under his command and a growing contingent of Soldiers his chances of victory where high, all that remained to threaten him was Lyara. Claire lurked in the shadows, keeping a vigil over Rickard, she knew he was up to something.. but what? She watched as Rickard stood looking blankly over the city, she had seen his meetings with the Engineer and Rookie, but she had no evidence that she could use against him. Claire knew very well that a bit of blackmail could go a very long way, she had full authority over research, spy networks and most of all she had Lyara in her pocket, but until she knew what Rickard was planning she was in danger, she needed his fleets. Just then a group of soldiers began to approach Rickard, so she quickly turned and left, hoping she would not be seen by the man. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACTIONS 4AP + 1AP + 1AP + 2AP - 50%AP (4AP Base + 1AP Second system +1AP Pop +2AP Legacy of the ERIC Indies - 50% Switch.. ) The KUS dispatch a colony ship to settle a new system and announce new teritorial claims. It was seen as something of a new era between Armathwaite and the Redon Imperium, peace for at least a few generations seemed a certain thing between the two nations. Coincidently talks had begun with many of the major Southern Galactic Nations on Armathwaite concerning the threat of what is dubbed in Armathwaite the “Imperial Axis” of the Kalronians, Keerim and Darkul. With Edward attempting to form something of a unified front of the most respected Xenos Nations to assist in the endeavor of ending their threat to the Galaxy. Territorial Expansion had become something of a focus for Armathwaite now. A new Colony Ship would be ordered to be constructed using the current shipyards of Knight Heavy Industries on Armathwaite. The fourth world of the Kingdom of Armathwaite would be properly sought out, more resources, opportunities were to await them as they would begin the work, hoping to finish the vessel by the end of the year. Once finished it would set off in pursuit of a new world. With the establishment of the Human Coalition, the North Western Theatre of War’s Command was given to Armathwaite’s own Admiral James McGraw, First Lord of the Admiralty on Armathwaite. Sovereign_of_Solaris 39 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Solar Ascendancy Founded 2143 Colonel Roland stood with his men armed and suited up as they stood on the lifeless, airless rock they had been assigned too waiting outside an older facility as the power finally kicked on. “Alright men file in!” he ordered as they entered the facility. Once inside the airlock it pressurizes and they remove their helmets. “Alright, get the landing pad ready to receive the shipment. Admiral Darynna wants this place up and running soon. Where the hell are the workers?” he asks “Their transport had some issues, they should be right behind us.” one of his men answered. Roland sighed looking around the place, machinery, heavy armored crates and old production lines from the time of the Federation. Roland looked out the window as the Freighter landed “Sargeant Reynolds with me.” he ordered making his way down the hallway to the massive sealed door as the transport’s landing area pressurized “Colonel if I may ask what was this facility used for before?” the Sergeant asked, though he wouldn’t get an answer. They stood by as the door opened and men in basic garbs and civilian based exo-suits carried in crate after crate. They were unmarked and heavily secure. “I’ll give you a hint Sargeant, there's a reason we weren’t requisitioned Laser Rifles for this assignment.” he said watching, the Sergeant gave a confused face before suddenly the idea came to him “Xylorite Sir?...” The Colonel smiled “Smart man.” In orbit above Terra aboard the Light Cruiser Prometheus Admiral Darynna stood on the bridge going over the instruments and running drills with the crew. “Admiral, we have a priority one comms for you, It’s from the Citadel.” Darynna stood to attention “Put it on the main screen.” she ordered stepping over in front of it as a picture formed of Nira Usenko “Sovereign.” she bowed her head respectfully “How may I help you Ma’am.” Nira nodded back “Admiral Darynna, I’ve heard you’ve been taking to your new position well. How is the fleet doing?” she asked, Darynna gives a light gesture “Excellent, they are ready to deploy at a moments notice.” Nira nods “Perfect, well I have a mission for you. Once the Nemesis Fighters for the Retribution are finished I want you to lead the deployment of the Retribution and the Void Hawk to the Imperials up north. I want you to aid them in their attacks against the Kalronians.” “Of course my Sovereign, are there specifics to this deployment aside from aiding the allied fleets?” she asked, knowing better than to straight out ask why in God’s name they would send 1 of their two Support Carriers so far from home. “We require the procurement of as much Kalronian Weaponry and Technology as you possibly can..Supporting our allies comes first, but if you see an opportunity Admiral..” “I won’t hesitate Ma’am.” Colony of Terra Capital City, Sol Facilities Stellar Class Shipyard - Level 4 (5/20 AP to lvl 5) Trade Outpost - Level 1 Solarin Battlestation - (3 AP) Emmerson Science & Research Facility Notable Locations: Sol Colony Total Population Peacetime - Restoration of Humanity - 3% Prime Pop Growth (Current Status - Peace) Solar Ascendancy - 651,000 Humans, 85,000 Grgl, 50,000 Tassarans, 40,000 Libellans, 35,000 Human-Tassarans, 11,500 Karass Total Pop - 872,500 Civil Development/Research Expanded Farms - Harvest Emmerson Science & Research Facility - Terra Federation Academy - Terra Enhanced Medical Facilities - Terra Colonies Terra - Capital Harvest Remnant’s Memory -Technologies- Quantum Comms Oddball Warp Drive Gamedi Warp Jump Drive Railguns (Ships/Stationary Platforms) Mass Accelerator Cannons (Ship Weapon) Mining Drones Xylorite Missiles Xylorite WMDs Xylorite Power Generators Miniature Xylorite Generators Xylorite Torpedoes Xylorite Refining Disruptor Weapons (Infantry-Human Designed) Power Armor Itoron-Steel Armor Designing Quantum Anchor Laser Weaponry (Infantry/Vehicle/Ship) Laser Lance (Hepheastus Upgrade) Swarm Missiles Mk II Hunter & Tank Bots (Improved Thinking Chip/Dexterous Hands) Improved Labor Bots (Non-Combat, Thinking Chip/Dexterous Hands) Jump Packs Itoron-Steel/Itoron-Carbon Weave Troop Armors LAS II LAS I Single Phased Deflectors Dual Phased Deflectors Tri Phased Deflectors Artificial Gravity Fusion Engines Fusion Power Nuclear Power Military Forces (Total) - 54,000 20,000 Army - Itoron-Carbon Weave Armor/ 15,000 Marines - Itoron-Carbon Weave Armor/ 4,000 Heavy Infantry - Power Armor Mk I 10,000 Navy -Resource Access/Trade/Expenditure- Rodina - 1 Ton Per Year/Total Current Tonnage =3r Tons Xylorite Mine - Terra - 100 Tons Per Year/Total Current Tonnage = 350x tons Itoron Mine - Remnant’s Memory - 100 Tons Per Year/Total Current Tonnage = 700i Tons Naval Fleet SAS Fatman - Solarin Freighter SAS Sprite - Strike Class Corvette SAS Manta - Strike Class Corvette SAS Daring - Strike Class Corvette SAS Courage - Strike Class Corvette SAS Viking - Centurion Class Frigate Mk II SAS Roman - Centurion Class Frigate Mk II SAS Liberty - Centurion Assault Frigate Mk II SAS Savannah - Centurion Assault Frigate Mk II SAS Raider - Centurion Assault Frigate Mk II SAS Glory - Centurion Assault Frigate Mk II SAS Voidstar - Colton Class Support Carrier/100 Nemesis Fighters SAS Retribution - Colton Class Support Carrier SAS Void Hawk (L) - Praetorian Class Destroyer SAS Undying Hope - Praetorian Class Destroyer SAS Unyielding Faith - Praetorian Class Destroyer SAS Prometheus - Athen’s Class Light Cruiser AP Total = 22 Standard - 4AP Trade - 4 AP 3 Colonies - 3 AP 750k Pop - 3 AP TF Bonus - 2 AP Expansion Mentality - 2 AP Federation - 4 AP -Trade Partners- Hepheastus, Silver Knight, Andorra, Malta, Trade Federation, Confederation of Xaplonius, Tassaran Republic, Protorian Council, Lithruan Coalition +4 Nations --Actions-- The Ascendancy continues paying for Reparations to Utopie as Solarins are always good on their word, perhaps this will aid in their efforts against the Keerim (2 AP) Project EVE is handed over to Andorra for further development along with aid and resources to be spent at Andorra’s will (14 total 5 years, 2 AP to Andorra) Project Swarm ‘On Hold’ (9 AP total 3 years) The Ascendancy puts 100 Nemesis Fighters into productions to serve upon the SAS Retribution Support Carrier (1 AP) The Paladin Mech within the true final stretches before the Prototype can be tested to see if it reaches expectations is given more resources than the previous year for development. DoomedDM 20 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Imperial provinces Location: Novam Domum, Fortified sector B6 Horus Varellion looked down at the rubble that was spread around what used to be one of the main sites of defense around Novam Domum. Here one of the Karras defense cannons had stood before it was bombarded from a distance by a Replicant battleship. Now it was merely a pile of rubble. It was laughable what the Cannons had done. They had at best only been a delaying action. Who knows what would have happened had the Replicants not suddenly been withdrawn in the heat of battle. Luckily the damage was only focused on military areas. All civilians had been secured and only a few of the cannon operators and soldiers in various sectors had lost their life. Luckily a small minority and the majority of the gear of the soldiers had been recovered and repaired. Yet the fact how little had or could be done plagued Horus's mind. He realized they had not been prepared enough. These defenses had been outdated and had not been built considering battleships. The same with the Karras defense cannons, they were simply not up for the task they had if they were simply outranged by the battleships of any faction. Something needed to change or the second invasion of Novam Domum would not be so (relatively) bloodless as the one that was here only just recently. Luckily he had managed to strike a deal with LSAA to at least get a large amount of fighters and bombers of excellent quality for a good price. Horus then thought back of the tales he had once heard of the moon base on Novam Domum. First the initial encounter in which almost four squads of soldiers and researchers were lost and in the second in which the quantity of the death had been much higher. And if the reports were correct these were the same creatures the galaxy had just fought last year. It made the story of the moonbase all the more intriguing looking back at it. Still it was funny how a problem that had ailed them previously had now once again come but in a much more dangerous form, greater than any of the Imperials could have imagined. Then his thoughts went to the recent human coalition and the the so called Axis of Evil. The Darkul, the Keerim and finally the Kalronian Ystor, a combination that could previously only happened in one's deepest nightmares. Yet this nightmare has become a reality. Now this new threat occupied the galaxy and it's nations whilst a new or old threat has arisen, of unknown proportions. Were the axis of evil somehow manipulated by the replicants, did they just see opportunity or was it completely unrelated to the new Replicant attacks. That is unknown and it is the question if it will be ever found out. Meanwhilst stories of a white suited man were growing to become more common, Horus just like his father had suspicions of such a man. Reports seemed to continue as the white suited man appeared in several places mysteriously often creating suspicious breakthroughs in significant technologies. But back to the topic, Horus scolded himself mentally. The new arrivals on Novam Domum had caused quite a bit of unrest amongst the civilian population. With the previous propaganda depicting the Han as evil being and our enemies this move does not sit well with the general populace. Though Horus had tried to move the Han encampment from civilian areas and the media extremely limited on the subject, merely allowing the fact to be used as a footnote in the news and other media outlets restricted from reporting on it, so as to make the unrest less common. Yet several times Imperial soldiers had to stop angry protestors from approaching the Han encampment and there had been several organized protests against their presence. This caused quite a lot of headaches for Horus himself but some sacrifice would be needed on his parts to make sure humanity was safer in this dark age. Even if he himself did not like the positioning of the Han and even if he was by extension blamed for the recent positioning of the Han on Novam Domum. Horus then gathered himself, after seemingly looking of into the distance for a minute or two. It was time to go back to the palace, do meetings and do the paperwork in order to transfer the money to LSAA and work on project Artemis and to build and repair the defenses around Novam Domum. hellfiazz 878 Share Posted January 21, 2018 (edited) Thulean Republic After the rebuilding of Phénicie, business was as usual for the inhabitants of Prima Thule. There were considerably more tourists than there had previously been, thanks to the whole capital now being a vast work of art, but other than that everything was normal on the surface. In orbit, however, it was an entirely different case. A truly vast amount of resources had been funneled there, both from the surface and from Armathwaite and Hephaestus (as well as a smaller amount from the Frontier Colony Affiliation), all for the express purpose of arming Thule and her allies. Two large Federation ships of the line, a battleship armed with Taranis and a carrier, and 2 smaller vessels for Thule herself - a destroyer (the NMR Lafayette) and a corvette (the NMR Corbeau). More awesome though was the massive project being undertaken - the upsizing of Svarog to being Dreadnaught-capable in the space of one year. There was upwards of 10,000 Thulean workers in orbit devoted to this huge work alone. By the end of the year, the Thulean and FEZ war machine would begin growing into an irresistible force, one yet unseen in scope by humanity. The newly completed TAROT station, manned and operated by Federation specialists, was another jewel on the new Thulean fist. It is immediately handed directions from the government. Summary: +10AP from Hephaestus, +10AP from Armathwaite, +2AP from FCA 1 Battleship, 1 Carrier, 1 Destroyer, 1 Corvette [18AP] Shipyard expansion [40AP/40AP] Using TAROT Thulean Republic Data Edited January 21, 2018 by hellfiazz
