Soul Puppetry Clarification (Guide / Lore)


CURSE TIMES:

 

  • All ingredients used for soul puppetry have to be in a timelimit of 30 minutes to one hour once harvested. 30 minutes for lesser items (hair, saliva, ext) one hour for major items (an arm, blood, nails, teeth, ext)

 

What is the source / How does soul puppetry work?:

 

  • Soul Puppetry works with the soul blueprint of the victim / person afflicted by the magic with a link created by the puppeteer attached to a puppet. This link is created when the puppeteer has acquired a bodily item from the victim / person and bound it to a puppet. Once this bond has been created the puppeteer opens a bridge to the void using the puppet to locate the person inside of it to first create this link. Once the link is created the assistance of the void is no longer needed as it’ll remain once disconnected.

  • You will still have all voidal debuffs when using the puppet persist on you as it passively drains your mana.

  • You can apply curses and have them linger on the person when not holding the puppet in your hand though the power of the curse will decrease overtime if not replenished.

  • Any variety of curses are able to be performed as long if it follows the guidelines, specifically not performing curses unable to be done (read below), these curses can range from physical degeneration to bringing happiness to people, it's at the cost of the players imagination and learning.

 

What curses can you do at different tier developments?: 

 

  • Tier One: Physical weakness and disorientations.

  • Tier Two: Mental misconceptions/feelings. Note: These feelings are general feelings and can not be used for specific people. E.g. Stephanie can not make Bob feel scared of her, just general fear.

  • Tier Three: Physical pain, damage and minor physical alterations.

  • Tier Four: Supernatural mental misconceptions.

  • Tier Five: Extreme/fatal physical alterations, often of unnatural nature (e.g. turning someone to stone or ice).

 

What type of curses are you unable to do?:

 

  • Due to soul puppetry accessing into the target’s soul, specifically their soul blueprint, puppeteers are unable to modify things such as the mana pool, life-force, memories, or things of that nature.

 

Why do you use different materials for puppets?:

 

  • Each different material meant for the different tiers allows for stronger links to be made, which is why simply having the basic materials won’t allow for stronger curses to occur.

  • Due to stronger curses being able to modify the victim / person soul blueprint with better specification materials which resemble organic life and a better resemblance of the person are required on construction of the puppet.

  • An exception to the rule above is only allowed when a T5 puppeteer are able to construct a puppet from any material. Though only curses can be done relating to that material. Eg: A stone puppet cannot make someone combust with fire.

 

Tier 5 material puppets, what can they do?:

 

  • These puppets once linked with the victim/person are able to modify the soul blueprint to the extent of becoming that material. Though this isn’t instantaneous and takes time. Four+ emotes are required.

  • Due to the material puppet itself, it will most likely always kill the victim if not stopped upon full completion. If this were to occur the curse will remain on the victim/person for period of time before reverting back into flesh, this is determined by how much energy was put into the victim. (7 IRL days max)

  • If you disconnect these puppets in a quick manner it has a chance to implode storing energy inside the broken puppet.

 

The Draught of Incite and Soul Puppetry?:

 

  • If under the influence of the draught of incite, soul puppetry will still affect the individual in question as they have bodily substances to bind towards the soul.

  • If the user is turned into a life-puppet the tether carries on to the afterlife, tethering to the ‘lich, darkstalker, wraith, ext’ to still carry this link. This will be dealt ‘phantom pain’ though it feel like the real thing.

  • If a specific puppet is made while the user is under the draught of incite and the user dies. The specific puppet effects (Curses on organs) can still be done.

 

General Clarifications?:

 

  1. If a victim dies under soul puppetry the link is broken and another will be required to enact any curses. An exception is a life puppet.

  2. You can only have one life puppet at a single time. You can only have two other puppets (including specific puppets) active at a time while a life-puppet is connected.

  3. As soul puppetry works with the soul blueprint no magic can amplify it or get a boost/work with it. This includes wraith increase learn time.

  4. Wraiths / Liches / Anyone without a flesh suit who practice the magic will still receive all the drawbacks as phantom pain/effects. Having the curse drawback still affect you on the allocated body part/mind.

  5. If you are connected to a user that has the soul stored away (eg: Liches phylactery), and if they wish to be disconnected without destroying the puppet they need to present the soul stored object towards a user that can disconnect, eg: Handing the phylactery to a holy user to remove the link.

  6. You can do up-to T5 curses on any individual if (including soul trees). 

  7. No magic can work alongside Soul Puppetry to give magical curses, such as using fire evocation to burn someone.

  8. Fi'hiiran'tayna magic will terminate the link and will need to have it re-established if performed on another person.

  9. Users that have a "protected" soul such as ascended cannot be soul puppeted. Eg: Ascended.

  10. Soul Puppetry being a gray magic and not being dark.

  11. To break the link without the puppet you'll require the holy user to be the same tier as the puppeteer (1 less for Fi').

  12. If you put an anti-age curse on someone, once broken all the days/months/years will catch up to them in a instant. 

  13. You cannot use holy/Fi'hiiran'tayna magic on yourself to break the soul puppetry link.

  14. Due to keepers being directly protected by Xan, they're able to remove the connection on themselves, otherwise soul puppetry works as normal.

  15. Void wards do not prevent a soul puppetry connection from tethering to the person.

  16. A puppet in soul puppetry needs to be a shape of the person reflecting the current soul blueprint. If one does not have a soul blueprint then they don't require a puppet being in the shape of that individual.

  17. If you are actively pushing a curse onto someone. You can be harmed by holy magic. Otherwise, it has no effect.
