The Adherents of Tahariae

~~~
We are those sworn to one.
The Judges against the dark,
The Healers of the Grey,
The Wardens of the sun.
The Guides to all,
Sworn to one noble goal:
In land, no darkness,
In body, no wounds,
And show worship to the light.
For in all, only purity.
For  Tahariae, our lord.
Overview
On the 12th of The Amber Cold 1571, a small band of the fallen Clerical order, the Curatrix, gathered together. There, they joined together in arms to bring back the clerical order, but under a new name and title. Long since had the name cleric been tainted with crimes of past clerics and shame, dishonour, and failure. These individuals sought out to change that, they wanted to bring out the true side of the followers of Tahariae, to make His name known across the land, and that purity strides across the lands.  They desired for a new start for the clerics, and thus this order was formed from the ashes of the Clerical Order.
The Adherents of Tahariae determined to do succeed where the other past orders failed.
The Adherents of Tahariae is an order devoted to the Aengul of Purity, Tahariae.  It is the official Clerical Order under a different name, to represent change and a new beginning for the order. The order consists of clerics who have sworn their lives to Tahariae's Mission: Bringing Purity to the realm through healing the wounds of descendants, and ridding the living darkness that sweeps the lands in the form of undead and unnatural beings.  Wielding Tahariae's power in the form of light, the clerics can perform miracles by healing away even the worse of injuries and bringing forth light within the darkest of places. Aside from healing and fighting, the clerics also offer prayers and worship to the Aengul of Purity, Tahariae, the one who has gifted the clerics with His gift.
The path of the cleric is a path not recommended for the weakest of hearts or those too devoted to their normal life, for many sacrifices and decisions must be made. Those who accept the path have thrown away their old life, relinquishing themselves from family and friends for the necessity of purity. They must uphold the Tenets and Utterings of Tahariae,  rules far strict and must be kept to at all cost. Failure to keep to such rules will result in disconnection: the loss of Tahariae's gift and banishment from the order. Those who have taken the mantle of cleric must keep to their duty to the very end... even if it means turning the blade on a friend who has become impure and dark.
Order's Ranks
The Prime Adherent
Current Prime Adherent:
Seyer Reesye (Nekkore)
Spoiler
The Prime Adherent is the main leader of the order, they are in charge of major areas such as alliances, paperwork, organisation, and overseeing the order. They can forge or dispel alliances with other orders, as well as nations, to ensure protection for both sides and that the order is not defenceless. Furthermore, the Prime Adherent typically holds the seat for the order within alliance councils, serving as a representative for the order. They can make decisions for the order, as well as lead meetings with the order as a whole, and with certain Adherents. The Prime Adherent is also the overseer of purity, they must be ready to send Adherents into places and situations where purity is disrupted and have the situation handled. Whether this be tackling impurity in a nation or disconnecting a cleric who has gone rogue. The Prime Adherent is capable of connection and disconnection, as well as serving as teacher. The Prime Adherent can be addressed by first name in informal/normal activities but must be addressed as ‘Prime Adherent’, or ‘Prime -name-’ in formal situations, such as meetings, during formal celebrations, etc.
They are the wielder of the clerical relic known as the Arm of Tahariae.
The Chief Adherent
Current Chief Adherent:
TBD
Spoiler
The Chief Adherent serves as the Second-in-command for the Prime Adherent, ensuring that the order is running smoothly and representing the order. Like the Prime Adherent, the Chief Adherent has the same responsibilities, both when the main leader is away or active. With the Prime Adherent, the Chief Adherent holds any secondary seats within alliance councils and is liable to temporarily take the Prime Adherent’s seat during alliance meetings, if the  Prime Adherent has permitted it or is away. Both the Chief Adherent and Prime Adherent must have strong communication and trust between each other, sharing vital information if the other has not received such. The two must work together in many areas.The Chief Adherent, much like the Prime Adherent, can be called ‘Chief’ if during a formal event.
The Masters
Current Masters:
Seyer Reesye - Trine Master (Nekkore)
Aerin - Trine Master (Hettty)
Spoiler
The Masters are fully trained Adherents who are teachers or/and hold a clear mastery within a particular area. They are responsible for ensuring the training of Initiates and Apprentices. They are capable of connection and disconnection, as well as attending order meetings with the Prime Adherent and Chief Adherent to discuss about how the order is functioning. They can take on initiates - non-connected people who wish to become Adherents. They can give these initiates trials, although can send the Initiate to another Master for a trial, if they are not knowledgeable in a particular trial. This is also acceptable if a Master needs another Master to teach a student the opposite area.
Example; a Master who specialises in healing sending their Initiate to another Master who specialises in War Clericalism for the Trial of Combat.
Example - A Curative Master who has an Apprentice wishing to learn war clericalism, thus sends them to a War Master to become that Master’s student in that area.
A Master can have up to five students and they must be Initiates that the Master has chosen to be their students. The same Master will teach the students until the students are deemed fully fledged Adherents. Although if their slot is full, the master can direct any new recruits to another master. Each Masters have a title that represent the area they are most skilled in, these titles help indicate which master is skilled in what areas and can teach.
Curative Masters - Masters of healing who have mastered both mundane, alchemical, and.clerical healing. They are knowledgeable in the structure of the body and how to heal many injuries. They are commonly the ones who take in Initiates who wish to heal.
War Masters - Masters of both fighting and war clericalism, these masters are known for being in many fights and knowledgeable.about the impure forces. Aside from teaching how to fight and use war clericalism, these masters teach their students about the impures and how to fight against them.
Priest Masters - Masters who specialise in rituals and ceremonies towards Tahariae, as well as the art of Holy Alteration. Although they can teach priest healing and/or war clericalism, they commonly teach about Tahariae, and all the knowledge students must know. They are usually the best teachers for the Trial of Devotion, as well as introducing Initiates into clericalism.
Trine Masters - Masters who have trained many years in Priest Healing, War Clericalism, and Holy Alteration. They are adept in all three areas, thus making them not only flexible but also capable of teaching all the areas possible. They take students who want to learn both priest healing and war clericalism, as well as Holy Alteration.
Trial Masters - Masters who are capable of giving trials to initiates when the other masters are unable to and see if they are worthy of passing the Four Trials of Tahariae. They do not need to be able to teach the magic, but rather able to teach about the clerics, mundane healing, combat, and patrols.
The Masters are to be addressed as ‘Master -name-’ during lessons or when patrolling together.
Adherents
Spoiler
Fully trained clerics in one of the subtypes of clericalism but are not teachers. They serve as the main body of the order, going out into the field and ensuring purity is kept throughout the realm through patrols and answering the calls of descendants. Adherents cannot take up Initiates to teach but can aid Apprentices in practices and training. They can however direct potential Initiates to a Master. It should be noted that Adherents cannot speak fully for the order during official negotiations with orders or nations. Adherents can lead operations and missions, such as attacking an impure base, with approval from a Master and either the Chief or Prime Adherent. Adherents are free to reside in any nation, as long as their alignment remains with the order. They may take a role within a nation, as long as it is approved by either the Chief or Prime Adherent. They cannot give out trials but may assist a master in preparing or playing  part within said trial for the Initiate.
Apprentices
Spoiler
Apprentices are connected clerics who are learning one of the subtypes of clericalism. They are commonly under one teacher unless their teacher cannot teach them a certain area.
Apprentices cannot teach or take on initiates but can aid other Apprentices in training. Apprentices are heavily encouraged to take on patrols but are advised to go with Adherents when they are under Tier 3. However they cannot lead large operations or missions, they need an Adherent overseeing the operations. Like the Adherents, an Apprentice is allowed to hold a position within a nation as long as they have been permitted so by the leaders. Residences are allowed but Apprentices are advised to keep their alignment to the order first. Apprentices cannot give out trials but may assist a master in preparing or playing a part within said trial for the Initiate.
Initiates
Spoiler
Initiates are people who have shown a clear interest in becoming a cleric, as well as serving as a member of this order. They are not connected to Tahariae but move onto being Apprentices when connected. The Initiates must take the Four Trials of Tahariae and pass each one. It is the Initiate's responsibility to turn up to lessons and the official trials. This is the lowest rank within the order but Initiates are allowed a room within the temple. Initiates are permitted to take part in ceremonies or prayer sessions.
~~~

The Rules

The Adherents follow three sets of rules: The Tenets, the Utterings, and the Order Rules. The Tenets and Utterings apply to all clerics whenever they are apart of the Adherents or not, for they are the very laws Tahariae has placed upon them. Breaking such rules upon being connected will result in the cleric being disconnected, their very soul fractured and scarred for betraying their deity's laws. Whereas, the Order Rules apply only to clerics within the Adherents.

The Tenets

Spoiler

When Tahariae first revealed Himself to Braxis Silverblade, He bestowed upon the first cleric five tenets that the clerics must keep to at all cost. Those who break one or more of these tenets would be disconnected without hesitation. These five tenets have stuck to the clerics for countless years and have always remained as the main code. Down below is the Tenets and an in depth description of what they mean.

I. Shelter and protect thy brothers and sisters in Tahariae.

A cleric must protect another cleric from harm and danger, never to abandon them or cause direct harm for any selfish reasons that are outside of Tahariae’s Mission. Allowing such to befall upon a fellow cleric is impure.

II. Do not stray in thy dedication to Tahariae.

A cleric must show dedication to Tahariae, showing clear worship and devotion towards Him, as well as recognising Him as their patron. Respect towards other religions are acceptable, yet a cleric must always show worship to Tahariae. No other. A cleric must never stray in their Mission, acknowledging that their Mission must be above all else, including family, friends, and a normal life. To stray is impure.

III. Guide and protect the Descendants of the Four against the Impure.

A cleric must be there to guide Descendants away from the clutches of darkness, as well as protect them from the Impure. A cleric must heal or aid a Descendant, regardless of racial prejudices and hate. To commit such scornful acts to occur is impure

IV. Do not spill the blood of the innocent.

A cleric is not the harmer of innocent blood, rather the protectors of the innocent. To harm an innocent who has done no ill in Tahariae’s Mission is impure. However, a cleric is only allowed to harm a descendant in the means of self-defence or if such harming will benefit the Mission.

 V. Do not use Tahariae's blessing for anything other than His will.

A cleric must use their light in the name of Tahariae and towards His Mission. A cleric must never use their light for business, to harm, to intimidate, or anything unrelated to the Mission.

The Utterings

Spoiler

The Utterings of Tahariae occured during Vailor, within the years of 1436 and 1442, by Tahariae Himself when He spoke to the clerics through the Prophet, Ashanaak. The Utterings are additional rules, with the Tenets being the main five. The Utterings come in Four Revalations: The Apokalytiria, The Eight Woes,  The Eight Commands, and The Anachorisi. While The Apokalytiria and The Anachorisi are not rules, the Eight Woes considered as rules, thus breaking one of these Eight Woes will result in disconnection. Whereas The Commands are seen as guidelines on being a cleric, these Commands are not disconnection worthy but if a cleric does not stick to them, it makes the cleric appear shameful and bad in the eyes of other clerics. Below each woe and command is a direct explanation as to what they mean.

The Four Revelations

The Revelation of Judgment: The Apokalytiria

I am the Glory of the Rising Sun. I am the Bringer of Light. I am the Lord of Purity and the Archon of Justice. I am the Vehement Lord. I am Tahariae. Witness Me, Ashanaak, My Chosen Prophet. Witness Me.

I, the Divine Stag, He Who Walks in Pure Light, the Great Purge, have merely watched My Servants for too long. You have Divided, and Divided you shall fall. You failed to Understand the Mission I had given to you, and so you have deteriorated into mere wandering healers and warriors who know only my Blessed Name. Your mockery of Faith and Piety offends Me, and so I return once more. Witness Me, Ashanaak, My Chosen Prophet. Witness Me.

The Revelation of Wisdom: The Eight Woes

And now, my Chosen Prophet, recite My Sacred Words to thy Brothers and Sisters, or My Blessing shall be torn from their hearts for their Sins:

Woe to those that turn against Me and My Mission, for they must be cast out of thy ranks.

To those who turn against Tahariae or His Mission, they will be faced with  disconnection.

[II] Woe to those who only know Me for My Blessing, and not for My Mission, and do not recognize Me and My Glory in prayer except when My power is needed.

To those who only know and recognise Tahariae for His Blessing, using it for their own needs and not for their duty, nor recognising Tahariae as their patron will result in disconnection.

[III] Woe to those who refuse to heal the Innocent, to return to Pure form what has been rendered Impure.

To those who refuse to heal a Descendant because of racial grudges or prejudice, refusing to bring the Descendant back to pure form will result in disconnection.

[IV] Woe to those who let the Impure, the Beings of Darkness and Evil, and the Descendants who bring harm to the Innocents, walk free when they cross thy path.

To those who allow dark beings or descendants intent on bringing harm to the innocent descendants, even when committing such acts before them, are to be disconnected for this breaks the Third Tenet and goes against a cleric’s duty. A cleric must slay the dark being, regardless of intentions, and/or  successfully stop the attacking descendant till a nearby guardforce can take them, or kill should they be too dangerous to yourself and others.

[V] Woe to those who cause harm to the Innocent, for they are those you are sworn to protect.

To those who willingly harm or kill the innocent because of mortal arguments or grudges, nothing to do with the Mission, will face disconnection as this breaks the Fourth Sacred Tenet.

[VI] Woe to those who are sexually immoral, who give themselves outside of the holy bed of marriage, who dirty themselves and thus dirty the Name they represent.

To those who carry out sexual activities outside of marriage dirty Tahariae’s name, the very name they respect. Therefore shame be upon them and disconnection shall come.

[VII] Woe to those who give themselves over to perpetual drunkenness and intoxication, for they dirty themselves and thus dirty the Name they represent. Such is only acceptable in celebrations and festivities.

Those who constantly get drunk and intoxicated are to be seen as shameful within the clerics, for they make fools of themselves and dirty the Name they represent. Furthermore, their drunkenness can lead to one breaking a Tenet or Uttering, thus leading to disconnection. A cleric is only allowed to drink within celebrations or festivals, as long as they act sensible and a good representation to Tahariae’s name.

[VIII] Woe to those who steal, cheat, and utter vulgarities, who abuse the Innocent with their tongues and hands.

To those who steal, cheat, lie, or abuse the Innocents or other clerics with disgraceful acts are to be shamed and disconnected, for the clerics are those who aid the innocence and are not the ones who use their power and roles to abuse them.

The Revelation of Valor: The Eight Commands

And now, Ashanaak, I give you these Commands. Recite My Sacred Words to thy Brothers and Sisters, that you may live a Pure life:

Go forth, and spread not just my Light among the Descendants, but My Words and the Truth of My Glory.

A cleric can willingly spread Tahariae’s Name and Glory through talking to the Descendants of such, thus keeping many informed of the clerics and of Tahariae.

[II] Go forth, and become true Clerics among the Descendants: scholars, protectors, and leaders, to guide the Innocent with words, justice, and wisdom.

Clerics should go forth and guide the descendants through knowledge, protection, and leadership within the dark times. If the descendants need information, defence, or someone to guide them through a situation, the clerics should be willing to place themselves in these roles. However, sometimes some clerics take these meanings true to heart, becoming actual scholars, protectors, and leaders.

[III] Go forth, and guard yourself against marriage, for service to Me demands complete and total commitment. If you do marry, do not marry those who serve Darkness and Evil, for in doing so you taint the very nature of holy matrimony.

Typically, clerics are advised against marriage, as many see it as a distraction from their Mission. However, should a cleric want to marry, they are free to marry another cleric, member of an order with similar goals to the clerics, or normal descendants who understand the cleric must place their duty above all else. Although holding a relation with or marrying an impure is forbidden.

[IV] Go forth, and kneel before Me in maniael: private prayer, gratitude, and submission before My Glory when you awake and before you sleep.

A cleric is free to give forth private prayers to Tahariae, in signs of gratitude, submission, and acknowledgement that Tahariae is their patron only. This is a sign that the cleric are devoted to Tahariae and He alone.

[V] Go forth, and kneel before Me in manaakh: prayer, worship, and submission in fellowship with your Brothers and Sisters in Me once each Elven year.

A cleric is free to give forth private prayers to Tahariae, in signs of gratitude, submission, and acknowledgement that Tahariae is their patron only. This is a sign that the cleric are devoted to Tahariae and He alone.

[VI] Go forth, and respect the fallen clerics who I have sent back to you, to listen and follow what they have returned to say. And when their wisdom has been imparted, that you will have the strength and courage to send them back to My Halls.

A cleric must acknowledge and respect the fallen clerics before them, those who have fallen in battle or have since moved on, for they have fought for the same Mission as you and have sought out to bring purity to the realm. Should any remain on the mortal planes as ghosts, whenever sent by Tahariae, or are bounded there, a cleric is advised to listen to the fallen cleric to hear their wisdom before allowing them to move on.

[VII] Go forth, and follow My Chosen Prophet, for they shall be My Light in the darkness of the world for you.

When Tahariae has chosen a new Prophet, the clerics are expected to follow and listen to the Prophet, for they are the mouth of Tahariae. Through the Prophets, Tahariae speaks to the clerics therefore the Prophet must be treated with utmost respect.

[VIII] Go forth, and in My Blessed Name, use any means necessary to bring Purity to the Taint and Darkness that has become the world. The realm must return to how it once was, when the Four once ruled in Peace and Taint had not yet manifested. Through the suffering My Mission shall bring you, remember that it is not out of Moral Good that you must do these things, but out of Necessity.

The clerics can use any necessary means to bring forth purity to the realm to how it was during the time of the Four Brothers, as long as these means do not break any of the tenets. Additionally, the clerics should be aware that their Mission will bring them immense suffering at times and that they are not performing such Mission out of Moral Good, but rather out of necessity.

~~~
The Revelation of Hope: The Anachorisi
Do all that I have commanded for you to do, and do not do all I have commanded you not to do, and you shall not perish. Nay; once suffering consume you and you leave thy mortal coil, I shall welcome you into My Sacred Halls, to forever be with Me in Purity, to forever be witness to My Sacred Light, forever and ever more.
The Order Rules
Spoiler
These rules only permit towards members of the Adherent Order. These rules are to ensure the clerics are behaving well and not causing any serious issues. Breaking some of these rules will not mean disconnection, rather punishment instead, but if the rule does align with the Tenets and Utterings, disconnection will be committed.
Rules of Service
  • Be devoted to Tahariae through daily prayer and recognition.
  • Only show worship to Tahariae and He alone. Acknowledgement and respect towards other Aengudaemons are permitted but worship towards them is not.
  • Slander and disrespectful comments towards Tahariae is strictly forbidden, even if it is just a joke.
  • Follow the Five Tenets and the Utterings of Tahariae.
Rules of the Order
  • Adherents are to patrol and travel between cities, for remaining at the base will not restore purity.
  • Adherents must obey orders given by either the Masters, Chief Adherent, and Prime Adherent, especially under life threatening situations.
  • Adherents are responsible for representing the order and Tahariae to the Descendants and must not tarnish either names, especially Tahariae’s.
  • Adherents are to attend their lessons and perform patrols. Slacking or lazing around the base repeatedly will not be allowed.
  • Any situations or incidents, such as impure sightings, or any noticeable figures, must be written down on a report and given to one of the Masters, the Chief Adherent, or the Prime Adherent to make the order fully aware.
Rules of Comrades
  • Your fellow order members are your brothers and sisters in Tahariae. Aid them and protect them when their lives are at risk.
  • If a cleric outside the Adherents needs assistance, be willing to aid them for they are also your brothers and sisters in Tahariae.
  • Any hatred or prejudice towards any races that are not impure are to be demolished as our comrades will emerge from the Descendants and those not impure.
  • If you have an issue with another Adherent, speak with either one of the Masters, the Chief Adherent, or the Prime Adherent so that the issue can be sorted out.
  • Never disrespect or show vulgar behaviour towards another Adherent.
  • Do not steal, cheat, lie, betray, or make harmful rumours towards another Adherent.
  • Do not peer pressure another Adherent into performing an action that goes against the tenets and utterings, or performing something they are uncomfortable with.
  • Issues with another Adherent must be dealt away from the Descendants and kept strictly within the order, for noncooperation makes the order weak and unstable in the eyes of the enemy.
  • Secrets or stories shared between Adherents must be kept between the two to prevent trouble or damage for any Adherent related to the topics.
Rules of Allies and Nations
  • Obey the laws within a nation. An Adherent is not above the law and constantly breaking the rules will shame the order.
  • Show respect towards allies of the order and towards nations hosting the Descendants.
  • If an allied group follows an Aengudaemon that holds a mission akin to Tahariae’s, Adherents are to show respect and acknowledgement towards such group and aid them when necessary.
  • If trouble occurs between an Adherent and an ally/nation, the Chief Adherent and Prime Adherent are to swiftly sort the issue out.
  • Spreading lies or slander about another group or nation is strictly disallowed.
  • Only the Chief and Prime Adherents may represent the order in official negotiations with another order or nation. Any below these ranks may not perform such unless.given permission by either leaders.
  • An Adherent wishing to uphold a place within a nation must speak with the Chief Adherent and Prime Adherent who will speak with the nation leader to explain what the Adherent can and cannot do. The Adherent must understand that they must place Tahariae and the order first, and cannot be of a major political status or partake in wars between nations.
  • Military positions that strictly specialise in handling impures and/or healing within guard forces, without taking part in wars between nations, are permitted but if the guardforce or nation shows corruption or impurity, the Adherent must leave to ensure they are not ordered to perform an order that defies the tenets or utterings. Allow a nation guardforce to handle any crimes that occur within the city they are protecting.
  • Adherents are permitted to assist a guard force through healing or fighting.alongside the guards when in a situation that will cause impurity or harm to others. However an Adherent cannot interfere in a guard’s work when the situation has nothing to do with keeping purity. Any issues with a guard force in regards to any incidents that occur to an Adherent must be brought up to the leaders.
  Becoming an Adherent
To become a member, just state in here if you are interested or PM the following people on either the forums or on the server itself.
~ (Nekkore) - Seyer Reesye (Prime Adherent / Trine Master)
~ (Hettty) - Aerin (Trine Master)
We’ll try and set up a RP scenario for you to join our ranks. There's no need for an application as we'll be testing you by your true roleplay skills than how good you are at writing an application and will ask for contact information when we've officially met. We will just require your username, skype username, and then we can arrange a meeting.
You won’t be accepted immediately and connected on the spot, you will be made an initiate of the order and will have to go through four trials in order to join this order. These trials will help you understand the different areas a cleric must be experienced in before having to take the trial itself with the new skills you’ve learnt. Also, it is a good way for your characters to learn new skills and improve your roleplay, even if  you fail to join the order and become a cleric.
There are a series of links that I do advise reading first before considering joining the order. They are listed below, so do take your time reading them.
The Official Clerical lore
Tahariae Lore
However. If you are not keen on religious RP, or you do not like the restrictions being a cleric has, or if you don't have a lot of free time then I do not recommend becoming a cleric as this role does require a lot of time, effort, and patience . There are some aspects that may hinder or reduce what your character can do at times. Be warned that if your character does break the tenets or uttering, they will go through disconnection which will greatly affect them Just adding that here now.
(So as a new cleric guild is there like a crafter area or like a quartermaster. Don't want to be a cleric but it might be fun to be part of the guild as the guild chef or something. :D )
We're not actually a new cleric guild, since this order was reformed during the start of Axios,  it's the successor the official Clerical Order, which has always existed since the first Clerics of Tahariae lore was released until it fell during Vailor.
We do have a crafting area but we do not have anyone managing the quarters, it's most just either the Prime Adherent, Chief Adherent, or one of the Masters who give a room to an Initiate. Although having someone assist with crafting and is a non-cleric would be quite useful.
However, we aren't currently accepting non-clerics into the order In-character for the sake of keeping our current location a secret. The clerics in the order want to maintain their base's location as a secret to allow them time to regrow and teach the initiates and apprentices. Furthermore, non-clerics may be a little harder to trust as they are not bounded to Tahariae as the clerics are, and can freely hand out such information. Hence why the order is not accepting any non-clerics into the order.
OOCly, I have not worked on a rank for non-clerics, as well as rules aimed towards them yet. Hence why we are not accepting any yet.
