I.

In order to begin to even grasp the concepts of cursing someone or something, one must use an intermediate which must be fresh off the body of the victim. There are countless ways of retrieving such material, such as;

SDqhGGx.png

Hair, skin, saliva, sweat, other biological fluids/pieces take 30 minutes to expire whereas blood, bone and limbs/anything of large scale take a full hour to expire.

Soul puppetry has three main concepts that a puppeteer must develop their skills within, we have already gone through one.

images

II.

The most basic fundamental that a puppeteer must know, is how to use said bodily material, in order to create a three way connection.

This connection is between the puppeteer, the victim, and the puppet itself.

In order for one to connect the puppet, the puppeteer must be taught through lessons. There are different ways a puppeteer can connect a bodily item to the puppet, as there are many types of materials they can gather from said body.

The blood must go behind the eyes, the saliva upon the mouth, hair on the head, and sweat on the back. These are the most common techniques a puppeteer may use to connect themselves to the puppet and their victim.

Curses/Boons may be cast after this three way connection has been achieved.

A puppeteer may puppet anything with a Soul blueprint/Soul may be cursed/Booned or affected at all with puppetry.

Physical contact must be retained in order to continue the curse or boon onto the person, however at much higher tiers, the puppeteer can just keep the puppet, or puppets, on their person; therefore it can be in their satchel, or perhaps their boot.

Depending on the curse and or boon, it may stay or cease after a puppet is broken.

A puppet may be broken by simply ripping off its head, among other ways.

A curse of blindness will cease to exist after some time, once a puppet has been broken, depending on the tier, this time can be prevented even, for an instant ‘cure’ of the curse. However, a curse of breaking their ribs, will stay permanent until the victim receives healing.

III.

Creating the puppet is the primary when going to puppet Sentient beings.

However such is not required when applied to an animal, we will get into this later.

A puppet can be made out of a huge variety of materials, from wheat and clay, to flesh and even netherrack. The types of puppets a puppeteer can make distinguishes them from others, one who can create only simple clay and wheat puppets may be only a novice, yet one who can create not only netherrack, but multiple others, is significantly more experienced, a master puppeteer, you could say.

When creating the puppet, one must follow the blueprint of the said race, for example;

A puppeteer walks into a tavern, and see’s an Orc, Khara’jyr, Wood Elf, and Halfling. And no. This is not going to be a joke.

Orc - An orc would have more mass, the puppet needs more mass. The puppet would need orcish tusks, and depending on if they are half orcish or not, the tusk shape would be different. The puppet would be much more taller as well, orcs can grow and grow!

Khara’jyr - A khara’jyr would have a tail, and would be more lean. They would have feline ears, and a more slender figure. Thus the puppet must be this way.

Wood Elf - An elf is lean, just like a khara’jyr, yet they also have elven ears, make sure the puppet goes according to their blueprint, or else the link will not work.

Halfling - Halflings are little stout rambunctious shits make the puppet just like that.

Now, this is where we go into the upper tiers,

A soul puppeteer is able to create various other puppets, to allow the puppeteer to use more focused curses or boons on the body, or the mind. One example of this being specific puppets. It would have to replicate the skin perfectly, and if a curse/boons would need to develop in such a way to affect their insides, the puppet would need to have all the right things, such as heart and ribs protecting it, etc etc. . .

An example would be;

A development of curses which allow the said person to turn into a cake! Or, rather, more of a gingerbread man/woman/creature

Now now, this sounds silly but is actually rather amusing... and yummy.

This puppet would be designed as a cake; it would literally be made out of gingerbread, be covered in frosting and all that, yet in the shape of the race! Do not forget!

Once the bodily item has been applied, the puppeteer needs to make sure that they go through, the steps of evolving their victims being into a gingerbread, ouch!

If this person was under this curse for long enough, they would die.  . . either by being eaten! Or by just being a cake, which doesn’t meet the essential requirements for life.

Dying under this puppet, would break the link, therefore you would need to reestablish the link to put more curses/boons on them, however the dead body they’ve left behind will forever remain a gingerbread man, and be harmed by Clericalism, because it’s the changing of their body.

Another type of puppet a puppeteer can create is a life puppet, which establishes a link, for an X amount of time, depending on the puppeteer. However, Specific spells and Fi'hiiran'tanya magic is just as easily able to break a link as if it were a regular puppet.

The soul blueprint is a unseeable part of a higher beings body, the soul powerful enough to project and create one for greater souls. This blueprint acts as an imprint mirror of someone’s body, reflecting any damage being physical to mental upon the body saving it to this blueprint. If harvested, the soul will tug back trying to tie the blueprint back upon itself to become complete, this method is what a puppeteer utilizes to find the host and create a link upon them.

Harvesting from people to first create the connection from the puppet will require one to gather a plentiful of fresh materials. These will have to come in an abundance. Those marked for 30 minute timers to bind once harvested will need to come in a plentiful amount rather than a single strand of hair, spec of skin, a dribble of saliva/sweat, for such you’ll require;

  • A Lock of hair.
  • 5cm patch of skin.
  • Quarter of a Tall glass of saliva. (2 whole mouthfuls)
  • Quarter of a Tall glass of sweat. (2 whole mouthfuls)
  • 5ml of blood is required

Hair, skin, saliva, sweat, other biological fluids/pieces take 30 minutes to expire whereas blood, bone and limbs/anything of large scale take a full hour to expire.

Anything else which is not listed will either should be common knowledge or greater body mass such as a limb. Placing more bodily items upon the puppet will not increase the connection or make more potent curses/boons. Roleplay time counteracts the previously stated time of biological harvest, if you’re within continuous roleplay with people; unless the time passes in said roleplay of the fixed time set the biological blueprint will not expire.

Substitution of biological materials can be gathered, these have to follow or be attached to a soul blueprint and or soul which includes misplaced souls, some examples: tree sap from tree lord husks, archon blood being gold, ext.

`

The puppeteer has the ability to create a soul concordat, a process which results in the attainment of a biological blueprint from the target's body. To achieve this, the puppeteer must be within close proximity to the target (e.g touch, or hovering of the hand over their body) in order to create a connection with the target's soul. This method of attaining one's biological blueprint is far more time consuming in comparison to stealing it off someone's body. However it should be noted that strong resistance (e.g large amounts of movement) will force the puppeteer to start the process over. Essentially, this technique offers an alternative process of willingly connecting someone without necessarily taking a piece of them or causing any bodily harm.

93j5qVx.png

A connection in soul puppetry will be utilized through the void, seeking to locate the individual bound to the puppet, this has the possibility to bypass deific connections one might have, although a limitation of range within the overworld is required being in the same region of the one seeking to be bound. Once a connection has been formed, being connected to the void is no longer a requirement as a link between the individual and the puppet has just formed, attaching to the soul blueprint. This however will create no sort of taint inflicting the puppet or individual soul in a harmful way making it hard to detect and disrupt, the soul puppeteer will also receive no taint upon themselves while performing any act of soul puppetry.

If the individual has a misplaced soul blueprint but has a soul, the link will directly attach to that without any further effort from the soul puppeteer. With the individual in lack of both a soul blueprint and a soul, the link will be unable to established.

Once having a mastery of the magic has been accomplished soul puppeteers have the possibility to tether several people to the same puppet if they've got similar features, overlapping the biological blueprints between each, allowing a full puppet to substitute between those with extreme deformations if one has a full body, however this will still increase the limit of the amount of connections done/puppets able to be utilized.

Descendants who have taken guidance under a specific deific connection may have their soul protected by a deific blessing, although due to the nature of the biological blueprint creating a connection will not disrupt the tether and will still be able to link as it bypasses these types of protections. The cause for this is due to the biological blueprint mirroring an attachment to the individual connected and ‘fooling’ the deity into allowing this connection to be formed. This'll be the same process for any other type of soul shield/barriers. The only exception to this is realm protected souls, souls protected by a deity within a separate realm are unable to be bound towards unless you're in that realm yourself.

Once the link has been created, curses or boons are able to be developed upon the puppet to reflect upon the individual bound, this will be able to affect all individuals that have had the possibility to be bound. The connection can be removed by certain mages with the ability to do such, though as the link doesn’t create any sort of taint, a certain ability is required from all those who wish to disrupt and break the link with an exception to Fi'hiiran'tanya. This specific spell would require the mage to target the soul blueprint apart from the soul, this might prove difficult depending on the level of the mage to the puppeteer that formed it. The link will also be unable to be broken by the individual it’s attached on unless they break the puppet, this is due to the individual’s magic ceasing to work on the link as it holds the same biological blueprint tied to the puppet.

As the connection directly establishes a link with the soul / soul blueprint voidal wards won’t be able to prevent the link from forming, while it utilizes the this link, the magic works by directly afflicting curses/boons upon the individuals soul / soul blueprint giving the puppeteer access to manipulate each to a limited extent (See conclusion for what you cannot change).

Amplification of the magic cannot be done due to connecting directly with the soul blueprint. Other various tools to increase learning speeds, and various curses with magic, are unable to be performed. If a curse/boon has persisted on someone for longer than a week, the spell will bind towards the soul blueprint itself, be it mental or physical curses/boons performed this way and will not revert upon the breakage of the link. This includes it being stuck on the caster. Only specific ways can be done to cleanse the individual of this fate, be it healed by specific mages or alchemy needs. Invading the mind of a user connected will result in some or most of any curses or boons brought upon the individual connected will result in the invader to have those curses/boons begin to reflect upon themselves, this however will only ever be mental curses; the potency of this is how far the invader goes through the connected individual’s mind.

Soul Puppetry having a collaborate list of puppets bound to them, each puppet serving a different level of puppeteer. Each puppet to tier are disposed or improved to utilize the new curses or boons present at that level and to amplify the potential of the curses/boons that came prior. A puppeteer is unable to perform curses and boons without the correct puppet present to be used.

The materials a puppet is required to be comprised of will depend on the level //tier// of the soul puppeteer, the materials are listed below under the ‘tier system’. The reason why these materials are required is due to a safety clause placed in, a beginner puppeteer can pick up an advanced puppet but using it will result in harsh backlash majority of the time leading to extreme exhaustion to death depending on the curse/boon used, this is why we learn from a basic level of materials before starting to advance ourselves.

The puppets through tiers are constructed directly by the soul puppeteers, imbuing energy into the puppet upon construction. This however will make the puppet able to be susceptible to being drained of energy and potentially warded, this energy is not of a dark nature which specific mages are unable to use spells to break the puppet, unless of course with direct contact to remove the connection. If a link is currently present on the puppet this energy only amplifies taking small amounts of energy from the puppeteer connected and the individual bound, this will be a minuscule amount but enough to wear out both if put under this treatment for a prolonged time. This energy is a direct attachment of the soul/soul blueprint. This energy would be also known as; élan.

The energy has a secondary priority, if enough is collected a puppeteer can expend it to cast several curses/charms without consuming energy from their own pool, requiring no focus to cast. This method however will still cause the knockback effect on the caster.

Once these puppets are bound, they’re able to be utilized by several soul puppeteers, passing them around to each other if they’re at experience to use them, this however cannot be used in conjunction with other practitioners as if they attempt to push a curse/boon over while one is present made by another, it’ll override it. If the puppet is lost, trapped, given to another, ext; the puppet will not consume a slot in accordance to the amount you can have active at once.

Other parties (non puppeteers) are able to physically harm the puppet, which'll cause both the puppeteer and the individual bound to the puppet to take affect on the wounds being done, if this where to occur the puppet will soon break down as the energy leaves it disconnecting both parties.

Once a biological blueprint has been sealed inside of a puppet it is unable to be extracted or reused for other puppets, this is due to the puppet absorbing it upon connection.

Various forms of puppets can be used some more unique than others, these being; specific puppets and life puppets which we’ll discuss later down. The basic puppet which can be utilized has no special abilities like the ones stated prior besides curses/boons upon the body and mental mind, although they cannot specifically target an area, this is where specific puppets are used. The specific puppet has to completely resemble the person you want to puppeteer down to the scar on the right hip, once these types of puppets are created you’re able to affect specific parts upon the body, including organs. This will go into the last type of puppet which the puppeteer can use, the life puppet, these types of puppets bypass the limit of time before disconnection lasting until the puppet or discussion is forcefully broken; for a puppeteer to achieve these puppets they’ll need to be a master of the craft and learn to imbue more energy into the puppet to perform this, lingering curses/boons will last a longer period of time upon these puppets. Once you reach the development of expert rank of the magic //T4// you're able to create flesh and bone puppets, this would include upon a living person.

Puppets constructed from the rank //T4// and up no longer need to follow a consensus of following the soul blueprint, however puppets constructed this way are seemly more potent in boons, giving added strength towards those type of spells with the restriction of curses being less effective to not effective at all locked to beginner curses. Boon spells this way have half the drawback percentage of the puppeteers current level and give them possibilities of utilizing magic a tier above them, giving an extra rank at full mastery. This gives the possibility to do more extreme versions of flesh mending without much of a consequence then previously on the caster(s).

The Material puppet being an masterful ability //T5// is something more special, the puppets made from these materials following a similar blueprint outline of the individual however hold a special curse attached to them. These material puppets can have two innate things about them, a passive effect which is put on both caster and target and the material effect itself, an example of both could be Nether-rack, a passive effect being; dry rough skin over the duration of the connection and a material curse would be to set the target on fire.

The connection to those with inferior souls, however do not have a soul blueprint; if this is the case a puppet is not required to bind them, however any source material present is able to be used, be it a pile of dirt to stone pavement, to do it this way, the practitioner of the magic is required to imbue the same energy into make a puppet into the source material present and it'll connect to the individual bound.

A puppet is used by the soul puppeteer due to the reason of not being able to acquire the magic by normal means, the puppet is actually used as an amplification device to enhance their own abilities to directly manipulate the soul blueprint. Due to this reason without the puppet a puppeteers magic is unable to be utilized. Various items are able to be used to assist in doing particular curses/boons though having to relate to the item; such as a flute to cause dance if an attached biological blueprint is present on the object. This'll be limited to only one curse/boon per item, having to create some noise from the item and having to be done where the individual is within the same area of the soul puppeteer performing.

Any curse or boon a puppeteer performs will backfire back on them for a percentage of the spell dealt, this increased based on how many curses you hold upon the individual/s. The backfire percentages decrease based upon the current level of the puppeteer, decreasing by ten percent each rank, the backfire of these curses will always hit the caster before the individual bound, if the caster is unable to handle the curse done this way, they'll break connection from the puppet and lose a lot of mana which might lead to death, depending on the curse done; this however will not stop the curse from passing to the bound individual. If brought upon by another party to wound/harm the puppet while a connection remains- you won't be at liability to PK if death was brought upon. Curses that are created and persisting upon an individual will be disorientating towards the caster, this will cause other magics to significantly fail in power, unable to use them to full effectiveness as a limitation you’ll be treated towards being adept in other magics while a curse is present //T3//.

A curse that would do the unthinkable and inflict death upon one’s being will be brought to the puppeteer directly as backfire, causing them in turn to die, committing suicide. These brandings of curses will take a long time to perform for a successful attempt for a soul puppeteer to successfully pull off, with the end result of them not dying. If performed the puppeteer will be unable to form a new connection and other curses or boons for an elven day as they try to recover.

With this, Material puppets are very complicated to use, if you use the material puppet is used to kill the person, eg: turning the whole body into a cake. You will also submit to the above clause of death. This makes material puppets very complicated to use and hard to pull off successfully.

However an adept puppeteer is able to aid in others progression of curses/boons, having an ability to take half of the percentage cost from another puppeteer, this aiding in learning and performing high curses or boons. This can be performed by both puppeteers holding the puppet and beginning to draw some of the energy out of it taking half the backfire cost upon them. This does however not disrupt the amount of mana put into performing the curses, fatigue will hit you unable to perform a multitude of curses in quick succession and over separate periods of puppets without break.

The backfire of good boons / bad curses will be evident by taking a small substitute of the curse/boon each, however performing a relative good boon will result in an extra amount of energy that is taken from the puppeteer imbuing this energy to be sealed inside the puppet. These boons as an example would be 'healing' in any form, mental boon of happiness, ext.

ooLFebf.png

Soul Puppetry in accordance to misplaced souls, a misplaced soul are individuals which have the soul stored away from the mortal body, either different realms to objects. A soul puppeteer is able to still link to these individuals if said beings have organical substances on them which’ll link to the soul or soul blueprint, these organical substances could even be replicas of such, tree lords for example being sap.

If the victim is of a death nature, several ways in attempts can be done towards ensuring a harvest of a biological blueprint, such ways include; the Draught of Incite. Once the individual is bound to the puppet they’ll be unable to remove the link upon them unless a specific individual operates on wherever the actual soul is located, although if the soul is trapped within a different part of the overworld they’ll need to wait until the puppet is destroyed or the connection is broken, in exception if other worldly realms kept sanctuary of these souls and soul blueprints the link will be broken within three elven days.

If extreme trauma is done to the soul of the individual such as physically changing or altering, unless a life-puppet is connected the connection will cease to exist from the individual.

Any pain brought to these individuals with curses will be dealt ‘phantom pain’, feeling as if the real pain is brought upon them, including mental trauma. If an individual would die within this state, the link will be disestablished unless a life-puppet has been bound to them and hold the link even if they switch forms.

This will consist of otherworldly beings of creation, such as Archons, Voidal Horrors, Izkuthii, Wraiths, Liches, ext. Will be at liberty to learn this magic, however they’ll not get any type of increased learning curves, this includes self-teaching from the beginning and will always require a teacher until adept //T3// where they’re able to self-moderate themselves. Beings of these natures will still undergo the same affects of soul puppetry which includes the backfire clause; this includes the death curse bypassing any rule set in place committing suicide to a permdeath upon them.

'Phantom pain’ will be dealt as the backfire towards these creatures, affecting them alike the real thing upon them.

Good Boons

  • The slightly tired puppeteer cast his shadowy gaze upon the form of his frail and sickly mother -- her days were numbered, and he wished for her to be happy. At that, he procured a bone and flesh puppet that looked like her -- even a bit of hair attached to the scalp of the puppet. His hand pressed flat against the base of the puppet as he began to imagine good thoughts -- his wife, his children -- even him and his mother when he was a child. His energy seeped in and allowed his frail mother to experience memories of peace and happiness -- for this was all he could do for the aging woman.

  • The warzone happening in front of the duo, guards enforcing the laws upon the land in a ruthless manner -- slashing and stabbing blades into men and women without escorting out the city. A little girl cut over her right arm, though only a flesh wound -- the two puppeteers move up to take the child away, escaping the wrath of the guards the duo take the little girl to a safe location, although none with bandages or healing ointment they go to the next best thing, puppets. The girl in agonizing pain the duo remove a puppet between each other -- comprised of flesh and bone, going to connect the girl to each puppet, one puppeteer begins to send a calmness boon towards the girl and the sensation of pain disappearing by reflecting on his own memories in doing such. The other puppeteer begins work upon the puppet, placing her hand upon the right arm where the wound would be, exhaling out in a rasp breath the skin around the girls wound would begin to regrow over itself, sealing the wound shut as if it never happened -- the puppeteer doing this would grow a scab around the same area of her body, thoughts of regrowth and memories of it gave the ability to perform this healing boon.

  • Courage and Dexterity, something that this elven man lacked, he was going into a spar with no chance of success at least in his perception, the puppeteer his friend placing a winning bet on the man he’ll want them to beat the opponent and win the fight -- While changing, the puppeteer accessed his room and took a lock of his hair. The start of the fight occurring,   the elven man is seen visibly shaken -- Connecting them to the puppet, it’s time to begin inflicting a boon of courage and bloodlust, although nontraditional the man began to roar in a rage and have push behind every attack, more confident and fierce than before blows seem to bounce off him. The puppeteer would start to shake upon the occurrence before disconnecting, the man unknowing of what occurred falls into a small trance before getting knocked out. Losing the fight.

  • The puppeteer wasting all patience on those around him, his work at interrogation falling thin and long throughout the cells. The last individual causing a lot of trouble and not seeming to be finished anytime soon, the puppeteer knowing a fact he could help speed this up, as he'll place a hand upon the individuals head asking him several questions waiting to connect to his blueprint. Drawing his energy out of the body enough he'll siphon it into a puppet connecting before persisting with the questioning. This time a charm of truth bestowed on the individual. His work finishing soon after as the truth spoken without hesitation putting them behind bars.

Bad Curses

  • The puppeteer begins molding the puppet in front of her to resemble the new victim she wishes to endure pain upon -- after grafting the puppet to her liking she goes to seek out her captive, getting a bit of his blood she’ll finally connect the puppet. She’ll go to cover a hand upon the puppets forehead starting to imagine horrific memories she’s endured throughout her life -- ones that deformed her, destroying who she was. The puppeteer holds these memories dear to her gathering the energy and emotion of it all before pushing it onto the puppet. Giving the victim a horrific experience seeing his nightmare in front of them.

  • The small and energetic teen fiddled with the puppet in his grasp, his ecstatic eyes wandered along the man that sat on the other side of the tavern. He put the hair that was recently gathered on the head of the bone and flesh puppet -- the small, anorexic teen smiling deviously. His hand slipped within his pocket and he procured a needle, sticking it into the chest of the puppet. As soon as he did so, the man that was sitting on the bar cried out in agony, falling out of his seat in pain. His hand clenched over his center chest area. Before he could do anything else, the teen gripped the right arm of the puppet and bent it at a weird angle, a loud crack being heard from the right arm of the man as the denizens of the tavern gathered around him -- marveling at the strange thing that was happening. The tortured man soon passed out on the bar floor, saliva leaking out of his mouth. As he stood up to leave the tavern, he faltered -- feeling a dull throbbing pain in his arm, a little bit of blood appearing on his white shirt as he staggered outside.

  • A musician upon delicate audience begins to practice Soul Puppetry to further his career in theatrical arts -- in doing such requiring a stage presence, yet an unwilling audience awaits him. The musician puppeteer creating a specific puppet for each, one by one connecting and inflicting the curse of song -- starting to forcefully make the users speak in song and rhythm unable to control themselves. The musical production can finally go on and succeed now with his slaved singers under promise of the curse being removed if they partake in his production.

This Soul Puppetry rewrite focuses on aspects of defining what soul puppetry currently is a bit more and some new additions included onto it. It puts all current accepted lore of soul puppetry into this collective post making it easier to understand, below we’ve already established a written guide and a teacher's guide to include upon this rewrite.

Some little notes to go by:

  • Soul Puppetry //Healing// can only be done at rank T4+ with the use of a specific puppet, this'll be known as flesh mending and can only be used to heal flesh wounds and help fix bones. If a puppeteer practices any further in flesh mending, such as fixing/healing organs, they run the risk of suicide due to growing secondary organs on-top of their own with the backfire.

  • Binding several people to puppets will still take up the allocated slots in connections and have the corresponding backfire.

  •  The puppeteer will have to do 3 emotes after connection to get full potency of the curses/boons, over the course of getting to these emotes the curse will build up inside someone. This is the minimal emote time required.

  • No magic can work alongside Soul Puppetry, this means if you had fire evocation and burnt the puppet nothing will happen, this is the same as other magics such as necrotic curses on puppets, Thalloss curses and even Shade curses.

Role-play Guidelines:

  • For one to gather a biological blueprint sufficient role-play is required, some examples will be below:
    • A puppeteer, is a bartender within a noticeable tavern, cleaning up after his shift has finished and the last customer is within the tavern seemingly drunk and unknown if he'll leave or not. The puppeteer begins to walk up to them planning a plot on how to dispose of this man who'll end up being disruptive if asked to leave by normal means... The puppeteer walks up towards the man going to remove the glasses upon his table, leaving the half emptied glass waiting for the man to scuff it down. As the man does so the puppeteer reaches forwards to take the man's hair in a quick motion and begins to cut the hair with a small pocket knife used to cut olives. Slicing through the hair with ease the drunk dwarf didn't even feel a thing... The puppeteer collects the next emptied glass as the dwarf finishes and returns back towards the counter with a fresh lock of hair, unnoticed by the dwarf.
  • .
    • A battle sprawl happening inside the mother grove of druids, orcs demanding tribute, weapons ready and a stance for an attack. One of the orcs snap and goes to cleave his battleaxe down on one of the druids heads after refusing a final time for the proposal. The druids having to take a forceful action, deciding to ready the roots up from the nearby trees in case anything else would occur, the orcs spouting spit and sweat from their hulked bodies before enraging to another attack, the druids throw up the root wall defending the ones the orcs charged at, the other druids sends roots to wrap around the orcs legs, holding them in place, thorns growing from the roots to impale the orcs and forcing them to bleed. Allowing the orcs to exhaust all the energy they have as the druids go to decapitate one of the orcs heads, vines wrapping around his neck and pulling upwards as the roots hold the rest of the body down... Eventually as time passes the orcs manage to leave the grove aggravated and will be back with an army. Blood dripping from their calves from the thorns as they tread off... A nearby watcher, nor druid or orc begins to walk up and touch one of the fresh puddles of blood an orc has left behind... collecting a small vial of blood from the orc war-chief before walking off, going to practice his talents.
  • .
    • A puppeteer, seeing a women in pain and distress, her child just lost in battle from the frostbeard clan attacking them, the human women grieving over her sons death... The puppeteer would go up towards the women offering a small token of forgiveness as she'll ask her for a lock of her hair saying to the women that she'll remove all her pain and hunger for vengeance. the women struggling before agreeing to the women comment cutting off a lock of her hair and handing it towards the puppeteer, a shaken hand unknowing of what to do. The puppeteer would slowly go to remove a human based puppet before going to place the locket of hair upon the top connecting...
  • .
    • A puppeteer goes up towards an unsuspected man and shanks them from behind with a numbing agent tipped blade, although a flinch felt from the man the puppeteer manages to extract a few droplets of blood...

A user of this magic must have a Mechanical Representation of the puppet prior to cursing someone, this can be any mechanical item that the User must hold.

All soul puppetry curses/boons will follow this rule;

Due to soul puppetry accessing into the target’s soul, specifically their soul blueprint, puppeteers are unable to modify things such as the mana pool, life-force, post(past) memories. However they're able to manipulate the link / soul  / soul blueprint and any current or future memory while connected. "

And

"An soul puppeteer wouldn't be stopped from using their magic in a brazier, but the victim wouldn't be able to be given new curses while within the brazier radius, as it halts any sudden changes/curses to the soul. Think of it like a temporary shield around a person, the connection from the puppet to the victim will not be severed, but it just won't be able to transmit any new curses until the person is outside of the brazier area. Similarly, if you already gave them a curse (e.g. let's go with an allergic reaction), that would still be in effect while in the brazier as its a change that occurred outside. It wouldn't simply go away due to the brazier."

This lore gives the player who practices the magic these abilities;

  • Create a puppet, push mana into a puppet and bind people to a puppet. (Any Tier).
  • Develop curses/boons which use the allocated mana on one’s self and puppet to inflict on another person (Any Tier).
  • Transferring backfire modifier between other members that practice the magic assisting you (Tier 3 and above).
  • Creating a puppet of someone with the use of a living being (Tier 4 and above).
  • Utilize multiple people onto a single puppet that take averages between each apperance. (Tier 4 and above).
  • Creating a puppet from various objects, limited to a single curse/boons on a object (Tier 5).

If you further read above on these abilities you'll see the rules that they require to follow.

I.

In order to begin to even grasp the concepts of cursing someone or something, one must use an intermediate which must be fresh off the body of the victim. There are countless ways of retrieving such material, such as;

When creating the puppet, one must follow the blueprint of the said race, for example;

It would have to replicate the skin perfectly, and if a curse/boons would need to develop in such a way to affect their insides, the puppet would need to have all the right things, such as heart and ribs protecting it, etc etc. . .

An example would be;

Introduction:

This guide will be an aid for beginning teachers of Soul Puppetry that would need a bit of help with getting them on their way. In no way or form is this the required progression of teaching even if it is the recommended one. Creativity and unique ideas are of course always appreciated. It is meant for this guide to remain public for the MT and any of the Students of Soul Puppetry  (And other individuals of course) to rely on in case they have any questions or hesitations on the matter of teaching methods.

First we offer to all, a quick summary of the content that is to come further below.

Beginning the magic, // T1 //

  • The first lesson, explaining how the magic works and showcasing it to the student.
  • What materials are required and how to create the first puppet.
  • The connection; introduction to engaging a tether onto a puppet
  • Explaining curses, how they can be utilized.
  • Defining curse backfire
  • Learning a mental curse.
  • Learning how to perform joint pains.
  • Learning how to block the senses.

Advancing through, T2

  • Discuss the different puppets required and why.
  • A more in depth conversation on curse types and the like.
  • Start building up the body and mind for physical and mental curse backfire.
  • Give an example of a paralysis curse, one radial and one linear.
  • Ask the student what curse they wish to develop and assist them in creating this curse.

Once a student has learnt how they’re able to create a curse, they’ll be moved into the Adept class of the magic T3  able to start self-teaching themselves and begin their own experiments. Each puppeteer is unique in crafting even if they hold similar curse affects, the progress towards learning them however, is unique.

  • The first lesson, explaining how the magic works and showcasing it to the student.

A student would have to be aware of what Soul Puppetry is and how it’ll function; in its core Soul Puppetry is a dark art, to which you’ll have to explain why the magic is considered such, this can be done by going into detail about the individual’s biological blueprints that are required  to first create a link. Explain curses to the student, detailed or vivid it doesn’t matter.

Once this has been achieved you’re able to showcase the magic to the student, for flavour you can do this on a puppet they’ll be progressing with or another style of puppet. It wouldn’t be recommended at this level to show flesh and bone puppets as it might scare the student.

  • What materials are required and how to create the first puppet.

Now, the first puppet to be created, this puppet requires organic materials to be constructed with. The most basic materials and commonly used are; Wheat, Moss and Clay. These materials are able to create your first puppet. I’ll go into explanation below on how to create this puppet and why these materials are required.

Clay:

Clay is the base material, it represents the body of the individual. This is where you’ll give it a few of  the specifics of the person's body, greater mass for an orc, slender for an elf, short and stubby for a dwarf, etc.

Moss:

Moss  is used to wrap around the clay, as a nervous system around the body if you wish to explain it as such. The moss will act as the primary agent on the curses done at this level. If it is removed or damaged the link will break and the caster is unable to perform curses until fixed and the link re-established.

Wheat:

Wheat will need to be sturdy and enforced to protect the puppet, this acting as not only the skin but also as a defence to prevent the moss from being damaged. Weaving it around like a basket to wrap around the puppet is a prefered method to make sure no damage can be brought underneath. Added on, the wheat is the layer where you begin to shape the puppet, adding in elven ears, the tail for a kha.

Now before I continue, if the individual themselves are missing a piece of the body said piece has to be missing from the puppet else you will be unable to create a link and connect to the puppet. An example of this being; An elf missing his right arm. If your puppet has a right arm, the link will not be established between you and the elf.

ucZ_TFiWpwS7s-xsNQOn2zggEreRwqm6LAswdxzA1eLMRf4eryFCNqaB9q9XWIBHTZ6uxs1ZurwGNoj7a4wr2PRLht6KcsQrMRMJ2zStvLyK4FFa7Jj2_7c3oxXTdrHfWUQncTE76bcU9nULnuYX8zUyfAg2PqvTZMoCFaef4V3njPFnK1ZR8HNdDRM_HDb5_x79ctnXVZ6MQIAjfuCVl5XUuRAyuGQjvjkTL2ZQo9FAFKKZEbY23hiDY1IFVeCA7UZ26sBdASz1E4e54hOnA6xXnUXjAPaGtcJT8t7UmJHrRSwdDJJAmupHyHODwPtnmmAoTu4BLaA_CG2qTnQK0UOMoFNBDYeShTIzNpZ0rDZnPwf0J1HI4w-ql3rzurh0rjfLw-vP7drDLrRi2x_DnA3S

  • The connection; introduction to engaging a tether onto a puppet

Although I don’t really have to explain this much, an OOC standpoint is that the connection is done through the void and a link is then formed, you’re able to remove the required void connection as it is no longer required.

Though, mages who have learnt voidal arts will still find it challenging to work with this bond as it connects to something different, it’ll be unknown that a void connection is even required. This connection can be made through getting the person to meditate while holding the puppet to try and find the person it will be bound towards. Once this has been done a link will be created and you don’t require the voidal connection until you need to establish another link.

Of course this requires to first have a biological blueprint from said person you’re trying to establish a link with and the puppet to match. Once a connection is made it’ll be useful to teach the student of disconnection and various ways a puppet can be disconnected, holy magic would require a specific spell to break, Fi'hiiran'tanya simply requires mist, the  easiest way would be destroying the puppet or having a puppeteer disconnect it by pulling all the energy out of the puppet. Also take note on the time of connection. It can be read in the guide how long each tier can hold a puppet for.

  • Explaining curses and how they can be used.

Curses learnt through soul puppetry will be done through the teacher until the point at which they learn how to create curses themselves. The first curses you’ll be teaching your student have been said above in the contents page, though this section will be where you teach your student about various other curses and how they’re able to be utilized within the server.

Explain curses; how they work and how they’re able to be brought over towards the puppet, whilst explaining all puppeteers are different and unique to themselves rather than being all the same. Copying someone else's curse can be achieved but the process of learning will be different.

Examples can be used where you can show/tell how different curses on people can have reactions, either performing a fear curse or headache curse. Try to keep it within the current level of your student as it should be something they aspire towards learning at a faster pace without over a long progression as it might dull the student down to learning seeing the end goal rather than the start.

RdwBdJDsPSTeRJdUgl-HSGdy8VtrxLCcI-fc3eYLvM7x-Zxttzw9oHom-OtdG3UUhScPM8cty8rjfno1aO7r7I4IrjS2p_imvm5gXj9HCjq8KkLNK9J4wdu0sruwyd2m9mr61tR8

  • Defining curse backfire.

Curse backfire, as stated within all the current lore, should be self-explanatory though giving examples of it in roleplay might be different. As you explain this to your student try to make sure not to go into much detail. Simply say that the curses will be reflected on themselves once performed but only a small percentage. This can give an impersonation that the curse they’re performing is much more powerful than it currently is. Although you can simply say half and it’ll get better upon progression, it is your choice on how to teach your student about the backfire effect.

  • Learning a mental curse.

Mental curses should the first thing a student learns up to this point. To first perform these you must place your student under either extreme trauma or anger. From this they’re able to more easily bring the curse to existence due to the strong emotions with an attached memory towards that particular feeling. Once this has been done, connect a puppet with another, this can be the teacher if no one is found.

Once the student has a strong emotion in recent memory and a connected puppet it’s time to teach them how to bring them both together to transfer the curse. This can be achieved by building up the emotion inside the student’s chest, holding and building it all up. Do note any reaction the student has towards the puppet be it squeezing from anger to rubbing the head has no real effect on the puppet at this current level. Once the student has built up all the emotions tell them to picture it upon the puppet and envision it upon the person. Once achieved the curse would latch out towards the connected individual.

Once this has been achieved, students after this lesson have the possibility to do this with any emotion they have strong recent memory of to learn and memorize the pattern, this however is only able to be achieved through emotional based curses.

  • Learning how to perform joint pains.

_UM1tvid7T7NNqHYr6ohvx8sPEAJeVXNL2p29p9Fb6zN3DUWVAmcys_kCedfsQ5Zh9VFRTS9RL8fqgJYx3uAMkfAYh6eDc9R87a3WNuDYmBvCQlmIcXp3ETloeroI176hY5lZLaz

Joint curses are some thing more advanced and should be learnt after a student has learnt or mastered themselves at least three emotional curses. These will all coordinate with the connected individual’s nervous system, joint pains can be, for example; arthritis, back pain, eye strain and more. These curses will be all very minor at this stage of progression. Unlike mental emotional curses all these will have to be learnt, although simple without a teacher the student might not believe a curse has worked to not being able to prevent the student from killing themselves.

Joint pain curse work is done all upon the puppet. The student will have to press down on the selected area where they wish for the curse to be placed on. In this example i’ll do eye-strain. To first inflict this curse the student requires placing his/her hand onto the puppets eyes. Try to get the student to envision a needle starting to penetrate their eye, a memory which makes them feel pain, or a prolonged experience where it’ll encourage eye-strain. When the student has done either of these examples, get the student to press the energy caused by these memories and or experiences into the puppet; you’ll have a slight chance of destroying the puppet at this moment.

Once the energy has been poured through the puppet, it’ll be first backfired on-to you, prior to the individual connected. If the student is unable to handle the pain caused by this as with all curses it won’t transfer to the individual connected.

S94Hpb1m9skrxxR4nFvNvROr_jfi6Z0P03YNSOioUU9S48AJlWpFDFGeZrChI8DYJ2f34t90NfgcrxKD8-UPoTBuVn2MAzMrfAnmIAKwcYdHfnpXi0SiywYfC_RoJN8NEfF4QSYz

Learning how to block the senses.

Blocking the senses using the curses you learnt above and trying to place them together. In simple terms you’re able to block the senses across the body, sight, taste, smell, hearing, feeling, ext. These will be done upon combining mental and joint pain type curses. Now giving it a simple term, you’re mentally blocking the senses by disrupting the nervous system in that area.

How this can be achieved is done through, touching the area you wish; in this example I will use the eyes once more for a blindness curse. First once your hands have been secured over the eyes of the puppet you have to start to imagine your sight. Visualizing everything presented in front of you, after begin by darkening regions across the eye based on the light and distance. This will give someone a short sight, unable to see things from afar without seeing blurry images. Continue this process and eventually darken more images across this visualization. As you continue press down upon the puppets eyes or even rub down across them.

After a small time the target will be completely blind on who’s the puppet connected towards, in conjunction the student will be unable to see anything besides very bright lights while this curse is in effect. The same process can be achieved for all other senses, just create different scenarios related to them; hearing being all the noise in the area fading to nothing.

  • Discuss the different puppets required and why they’re required.

It is at this point that the different types of puppets should be explained. The explanation can be vivid or detailed but you’re going to need to explain the different types of puppets with each level of advancement.

First, it’ll be good to explain that each advancement you make you’ll discard the previous puppet as the new curses are unable to work upon them, making the puppet ineffective.

The list of puppets within order are;

  • Clay, Moss, Wheat.
  • Wood, Pine, and Hide.
  • Flesh.
  • Flesh and Bone.
  • Materials.

  • A more in depth conversation on curse types and the like.

Soul Puppetry curses are created with imagination of real world and fantasy settings, twisting it to your own wicked ways to changing it to become something calming for the mind. The different types of curses which can be done at this level are very minor but you’ll need to discuss current level curses; improved joint pains and stiffness to cause paralyzation to creating migraines. When this is all explained you’ll then discuss further advancement of curses, such as nightmares, physical deformation, ext. To give some ideology in improvements.

Although the curse backfire has decreased by 10% (40%) majority of it will still fatigue and be painful to the caster. This will only decrease come more knowledge and advancement in the magic.

This will go into discussion on both linear and radial curses, what they are and the difference on each;

Radial curses:

These types of curses are much more weaker, mundane towards linear curses though they hold more broad learning possibilities of other curses. An example:

A curse that ages the skin, an application to eventually decay the flesh.

This can be used on a multitude of applications, rising goosebumps to increase warmth within the skin, creating boils, warts, pimples along the arm, ext.

Linear curses:

Linear types of curses are more stronger than radial, potent, these curses follow a straight forward pattern to the end goal without giving much else to elaborate and learn from. Although it might help gain knowledge for other curses, you’ll still need to pick it up from scratch. An example:

Studying the wolf-spider-venom, to rapidly increase its effects on the skin to cause decay

This wouldn’t be able to be used on any other application, as you’re primarily using it to decay flesh at a rapid rate.

  • Start building up the body and mind for physical and mental curse backfire.

Simply being, as soul puppetry is an extensive magic on the body and mind, strengthening both will provide a good head towards learning the art and not going too insane or killing themselves. Provide insightful lessons to help test the individuals by putting them through physical and mental trials. Some examples could be causing them/loved ones extreme pain physically and mentally.

You’ll need to push the student to almost breaking point, that is where you can see they’re able to begin learning the art for themselves and progress smoothly through it without much distress. This might be considered barbaric but it’s essential for training the student for what’s to come.

  • Give an example of a paralysis curse, one radial and one linear.

As I described radial and linear curses above, I would recommend reading it back over the student so that they understand. As we get into learning more about these curse variations, this is where you’ll begin to teach your student on how to apply it to a puppet.

First we’ll explain radial paralysis:

To perform this radial curse, will have to go through some stages of learning, first you’ll need to understand the cold. How the body reacts towards it, this will most likely cause goosebumps as it’s the body's defence to try and keep warm. It’ll be recommended to show this to the  student by taking them to a cold environment to fully understand the function.

Once achieved, you’ve completed the first stage of developing a radial curse, begin to start applying this knowledge to the puppet once collected. Raising goosebumps across the arm/s. In this moment is where we’ll begin to use some imagination and push for a different effect, go to increase the amount of goosebumps across the arm/s to the point of stiffening the skin to a lock state. This is mild paralysis. Although the user can still move and feel anything done to them, they’ll be unable to move the said ligament.

Now to linear paralysis:

To perform a linear curse of this nature would be a bit more complicated as we’re gathering a specific way to paralyze the person. We’ll first need to study the anatomy of a being, animal or man. We’ll need to start looking into joints of the person and how they’re configured into the body, a body wouldn’t be necessary if you have knowledge or knowledge to be passed onto you. This will be done due to understanding the specifics of what to not only curse but to hold. Once you have the knowledge of the biology of a living being, you’ll need to grab your puppet- begin by connecting and placing your hand/s over the arm's joints and press down, focus on the muscle around the bones and start to loosen the feelings inside of them densifying movement, feeling. This will create a full sensation of paralysis on the body.

  • Ask the student what curse they wish to develop and assist them to create this curse.

This will be your final lesson, once this is complete your student will become adept in the magic and having the ability to self-teach themselves //T3//. To begin you’ll first ask your student what type of curse they wish to develop following any of the rules stated above, linear, radial, good, and evil. Although you can teach them other curses afterwards this lesson brings a sense of realism within progress giving the student the ability to become their own unique puppeteer.

Once you have asked the student what curse they’re wishing to develop, begin by asking them how they’ll believe to learn the curse, going through methods and helping them along the track without giving them the full answer. You can do this through a physical demonstration or theory. Once the student has successfully got to the right track you’ll begin to apply it towards the puppet, showing them exactly how to perform the curse.

An example of all of this would be:

- A student asks how to create a dehydration linear curse -

NAK5b9C65O7FNfErvNRsRDXpmFYSPFjPY9fKO53uXdH-BRIApGSEg0p4pDEC_EOPysOh__aITYyqNOF00D_C3mBWgpKSDwWtc9fzaN3Xy4XeLcfeNHSERfiIOfs9Y3gqsY_bcIHR

If given a physical demonstration with a rat, you’ll first begin to outline the organs within the body that require water. Asking where the student would begin to start From this, moving towards what the body uses water for and the core of it.

Once this has been established you’re able to begin practicing onto the puppet, not requiring a specific puppet you’ll place a finger upon the puppets chest, connected to the rat. Focusing energy into both the puppet and the rat you’ll start to deprive the body of water, around the body; besides being a long process the individual inflicted will feel malnourished once complete and look like it.

After this is all complete the lessons are over for the teacher, the student embarking on his/her own quest of domination and or assisting the world around them.

This seems better than it was before. - Less of a magic that people just get to make people annoyed and kill them when the defender has no defense, or no safety net. Also, no more having just a little bit of spit or sweat, and then being able control somebody for a week... @P A R K E R

Just now, Gladuos said:

There's no soul in a tree lord husk. ;~;

I was told prior that it was acceptable to get the soul blueprint this way and it was accepted under the clarifications. However as I discussed with the MT other kinds of husks are unable to be done.

Why though? How do you connect with a soul that isn't there?

With gathering the substitute for blood, in this case being tree-sap. This having a direct link connected to the soul tree, you can bind it towards the soul. This will be the same case if you throw a draught on a lich and get a biological blueprint from that to connected to the phylactery. Both of these examples are currently accepted.

Lame. I was told a while ago that it wouldn't work unless taken from the soul tree, where the soul is.

Also what's this about wards not breaking a link or whatever? Does this mean the magic can't be dispelled? If it's magical then warding should be able to dispell it period.

I like it. It's very compact and more detailed than past versions - it's helpful to both students and teachers that practice the magic!
