I prefer magic to be more realistic / gritty / mystical rather than scientific and extravagant. Makes it easier to immerse yourself.

+1, though due to Elle following Astrid I would like to make a suggestion. Instead of having one of her spells cause attraction, have it cause an increased arrow accuracy. In lore she's a symbol of honor and loyalty, as well as vengeance if I recall correctly because Beorn cheated on her so she slid an arrow into his heart while he slept. Having one of her spells make someone more attractive makes next to no sense in my opinion. Otherwise I liked it. 

 

If you don't like the arrow suggestion, she also tended to their farm so perhaps a spell relating to her that aids in crop growth or animal happiness.

 

Edit: Also Snow's spells should have to be sung AND accompanied by an instrument to be cast in my opinon.

Despite having an absolute ass ton of possible abilities, the ones you can actually access are very limited due to the quadrant and patron system. We needed a wide variety of spells because they are a very straight forward application. It isn't like fire evocation where you can be creative. Most prayers have a single very straight forward application, buff x or nerf y in z fashion. Hence we've tried to give users a wide variety of options while forcing them to make conscious decisions about what they want to specialize in. We're also reworking the spells atm.
