((Note, this is NOT a complete or well detailed list of ALL the religions within LoTC. These cover the MOST POPULAR ones. I'm sure there's many that don't have a spot on the forums, or those that are hidden due to the religion's creator not wishing to meta-game the info. If any of the religions creators want me to remove their religion, please PM me over Discord.))

Religion, a fascinating subject that's been used to cause a lot of things both IC and IRL. For new players, the religions on LoTC can be quite confusing, and which to follow. Below, I will separate the religions, and what races tend the follow them the most.

Faith of the All-Father and The Red Faith.

The faith of the All-Father is like the medieval version of real God. People who worship this faith are encouraged to pray everyday, and heathens are often branded and hung admit tree's for their crimes. The faith of the All-Father also centers around Saints, or holy people, in which people can give tribute to. There's several splinter groups which sprouted from this.

Those who follow the All-Father think:

-Hate Voidal Magic and Druid Magic.

-Those who live in the All-Father kingdoms are encouraged to worship only the All-Father.

-That everybody is inherently evil and corrupt.

-Mentions of the Seven Deadly sins, those who partake in those sins become stagnant.

-Those practicing and found themselves partaking in these sins can cleanse themselves with the help of an All-Father Priest.

-That openingly and proudly worshipping the All-Father will help you not fall into decay.

-To convert those who do not worship the All-Father.

-To root out the causes of corruption and decay, which include, Voidal Magic user's, Druidic Magic user's, undead, mythical or magical, Orcs, and Kha's.

-Racial interbreeding and racial mixing is a big no. All interbreeds (expect Norfolk) are to be burned at the stake.

Mostly followed by humans.

Chruch of The Cannon, or The Creator.

A completely different religion than the faith of the All-Father, this one one is called The Creator. There's a lot of lists and rules for this one, however condensed, it follows:

-Aeguel's and Deamons are true, present beings.

-The Exhaulted are chosen beings with great power, who walk on the world.

-Do not worship anything other than The Creator.

-The Holy Scrolls play a big part, and are revered.

-Scroll of Viture is basically a set law, which includes, prohibit murder, thievery, sexual immorality, miscegenation, judging one’s own virtue, lying, disloyalty, apostasy, blasphemy, covetousness, sloth, wrath, ambition, pride, and indulgence.

-Humans are not better than the other races.

-Half-elves, Dark Elves, and Snow Elves are seen as flith.

-Nine planes of existence, or the Seven Skies.

-Other races than human are allowed to worship other things than The Creator.

Mostly worshipped by humans.

Aspectism

Aspectism is more closely seen as a pagan religion, as it is mostly tied with nature and the balance with it.

-Take what you need and give back what you can.

-Mostly accepting of other races.

-Think anything that comes from the Void will upset the balance of nature.

-Mostly accepting of other religions besides undead and Deamons.

Igne’acaela

This is a completely separate from Asecptism. Most of these worshipers only worship one deity.

-Most accepting of other magics.

-Lapis is sacred.

Most that follow are dark elves, however their can be other races.

The Spirits

This is an Orcish religion which includes shaman's, but is different than Igne'acaela because they do not follow the belief that lapis is sacred.

-Shaman's are the most ones that hold an understand of the Zodiac's.

-The Spirits are worshipped, please refer to the Spirit list for one you would like to worship.

Mostly worshipped by Orcs.

Shenjiao and Huajiao

Both of these figures cut different sides of the coin when it comes to worship. Both are within the same race but vastly different.

Shenjiao:

-Centers around the Prince and his three sons.

-Special care around spirits and ghosts.

-Most that follow this 'sect' hate Kha, as when Metilzal created him, and then cast him away.

-Ghost festival is important.

-Accepting of other races. (Besides Kha)

-Accepting of all magic.

Huajiao:

Yemekar

This is an interesting faith as this one revolves around a Pathoen instead of one, or three Gods.

-No official speaker.

-Different Gods within, including Anbella, Dungrimm, Belka, Ogradhad, Armakak, Grimdugan, and Khorvad.

-Accepting of other races.

-The Main Aeugel's are, Tesion the Wise, Tahariae the Pure, Irfan the Inventor, and Aeriel the Benevolent. The Lessers are, Eshtael the Noble and Azendital the Brave. The Daemons are, Dragur and Meztli. The Turned are, Nemiisae the Killer, Iblees the Nameless, and Gaezardiel the Foolish.

-Horna created the first race out of ice, then took a mace and smashed the ice, creating more humans. Then he fought a dragon and won, then created the stars.

-One of the smart human females discovered fire, was kidnapped and tortured for the knowledge, then when she died, she got to be Horen's wife in the afterlife.

-A man fought a sea serpent and wholly mammoths, returned alive with the big skull. Lived a long life before dying and going into the Great Halls.

-Souls have to pass trials in order to get to Lighthalzen otherwise they go to Hell and swim a river with all their regrets and sufferings. Oh, and they have to beat a giant beast or if they fail that, then take the Wheel of Re-birth.

-Some guy got his wife kidnapped in battle, and the other side made the bad mistake of shoving her off the wall. When the guy saw his wife dead, he flew into rage and slaughtered the entire army on the other side. When the citizens were hosting a funeral for the wife, the guy chucked himself into the pyre.

True Faith

-It all started when this one guy did not like the Cannonist faith and heavily stressed anti-Cannonism. However this other guy came in and said that they had to return to the days before Cannonism, pre-Cannonism.

-This new guy came in and made the clergy look for knowledge, then made documents called The Golden Hand'. Many people were hesitant on following it, however a King was brought into the faith, and soon many people worshipped it.

-However after the death of the King and his wife, the new king was overtaken by the now Cannonist forces and their citizens where killed. However years passed and now it remains on neutral territory.

-The Void, the Seven Skies, and the other worlds where created by one deity.

-Members who do not agree or follow their orders are killed.

-Their Goddess Nyaja is mute, and only Speakers may listen to her.

-Those chosen are given gifts to change the future.

-The Origin Story goes, The Aeungel's and Daemons were roaming one world when the Goddess Nyaja was creating life on another world. She created Elf like beings and gave them gifts, however these gifts corrupted their souls and together the Elves fought three civil wars. Vaktovia entered and brought order, Valkyru was then pulled through a rift and turned into a dragon and spoke to the Elves, where all of them dropped their weapons and gave back their gifts. Valkyru created the Azdrazi but Nyaja was mad and didn't speak to them. Years passed with peace, but then the Elves wanted to flaunt about the war so they told the Azdrazi about it, which before the dragon race had no knowledge, and they freaked out. Nyaja saw this, transformed into a dragon and spoke to them. Nyaja was mad and said as punishment she will never speak to them again, then she punished the one who broke the rule, a female Elf, by eating her alive. She then said she was never returning and then opened another rift and vanished. Then the Earth vanished and turned into The Void, where over time, more rifts were opened and the Elves and Azdrazi found a new Earth, with the Orcs, Kha, Halflings, etc.

Completely false, dwed elves and all other descended races can be good cannonists and are treated as such.

Acts of degeneracy such as half elfs, dark elves and snow elves are classified as degenerate and treated as such.

Could you add Knoxism to this list of religions? I know that Knoxism doesn't have a very big following, but it's been an important part of the halfling culture for quite some time.

PM me on discord if you want to know more about Knoxism, my discord is Gregory Nelson#2321

Followers of the dwarven faith don't really frown on magic users, most of the info here is wrong.

Most of the info came directly from the thread that I linked. So please update it if most of it is wrong.

When it comes to canonism (especially among very pious) half breeds are often all seen as degenerate, not just half elves. Mixed race breeding corrupts bloodlines and is badbadbadbad in human culture (unless you’re a Norlander)

Our religion forbids race mixing and says the cure to it is burning at the stake

This thread is a good start but you might want to verify some of the claims made here, some of the Red Faith stuff is a bit wrong. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have tho

You should mention that Canonism's most prominent figure is the High Pontiff, basically like your catholic pope.

When it comes to canonism (especially among very pious) half breeds are often all seen as degenerate, not just half elves. Mixed race breeding corrupts bloodlines and is badbadbadbad in human culture (unless you’re a Norlander)
