"I fear it will be sometime before I understand why people kill others. Why end the life of an

intelligent creature. Is its knowledge, are its experiences, not worth something? Must they be

lost to oblivion?"

Personality

Description: Quin is a distant woman, polite enough company but holds few casual friends- instead if she is to bond with anyone, it is deep and true, and that person will find they have a loyal friend indeed. With such a small pool of close friendships, she leaves time for work and ambitions, seeking high and hard-sold on being content with where she is. She is enduring, persevering, and task-based, liking things to be cut and dry accomplished before moving on. She dislikes disorder and senseless chaos, and always thus respects a good library or a tidy person. An intellectual, and a curious one at that, learning and discovering more is usually at the top of her task lists. Quin cannot  stand people who are complacent with saying, "I don't know" and moving on. Bundled into that, once on a tangent or topic with someone who knows what they're talking about, Quin easily becomes rather animated and energetic. The prospect of making friends over information excites her, even if she doesn't entirely know what she is doing regarding the "friend" side of things.

Backstory: Born at the dawn of the spring month to an elated Tylin and Val'isil Idrith, her naming is one of jest and one she has come eventually to own. The pair, hoping for a son, had neglected to concoct any names should a daughter be born- so from Quinn and Ceciliyen, her name was decided at the outskirts of Haelun'or and there she had her childhood as her parents stayed faithful to the High Elven city even as better prospects arose among the settlements of humans and others. Together her parents owned and operated a tavern down the road, customers being travelers rather than usual townsfolk. Quin grew up a sickly child, staying indoors with what books her parents could afford for her, and she was taught the manners and respect that would serve her well as an adult. Certain themes of superiority did not go amiss in the household either, though they were less pronounced than in the families of the city, as of course at a tavern for travelers one would encounter many folk, and customers ought to all be treated kindly. Coming into her teen years, Quin helped around the tavern and learned stories from the passersby when she could, in her spare time taking up archery, as well as seeking libraries and private collections of the friends she made for further studies. Her parents, glad to see their child pursuing scholarly activities, encouraged her with this and turned a blind eye to her more boyish habits as she grew. Though she remained staying with her parents, set to eventually take over the tavern, and she largely stayed out of politics, the city life did grow more and more alluring. Coming into maturity, Quin spoke with her parents and some years later bade them farewell, beginning her journey to the path of knowledge, knowing not exactly where it would take her. Her first goal has been to seek out libraries, in her spare time making money as a courier.
