 Ritual Of The Three Moons.

Amongst the whispers of the descendant community, there have been controversies that these creatures have nothing but malicious intent and are only animalistic in nature. Though the ritual process of these beautiful creatures is something like most cultures withhold, before one becomes claws and canines there are practices and stages that one must go through alongside an alpha in order to make, what is believed to be a successful transformation. The Ritual Of The Three Moons.

Once a descendant has been found worthy to be considered of the affliction, a rather tricky and tiresome process, they must go through the three stages of the lunar cycle; the three significant moons. Crescent, half and full moons. Though such a cycle does not affect the process of the main turning of a feral, it is believed culturally that the spirit of the mani blesses those whom consume the blood of the alpha at the peak of these three moons and have the easiest process of shifting unlike others whom may be turned outside of these times, will be rather painful.

Stage One: Mani’s blessing (Crescent moon)

This is the first stage of the transformative ritual performed at the peak of the crescent moon, one where the pack comes together and greets the descendant with a watchful eye, deciding if they are willing to accept the individual into their family. Though it is believed that one must not utter a word during this sacred night, for this is when the first presence of the Wolven prince is felt. Instead the afflicted individuals will line in front of the descendant, once they come face to face they will either bow their heads in an act of acceptance or turn their back in an act of denial;  the decision falls down to the vote of the majority before the alpha(s) lay the pelt of the pack’s most recent kill upon the descendants shoulders as an act of symbolism - the fur they may soon come to possess.

Stage Two: The binding (Half Moon)

The second stage is where the consumption of the alpha’s blood occurs, though such an honour is not so easily gifted unto the descendant, for the pack upholds worth over all. The descendant must bring themselves to challenge the alpha of the specific pack in witness of the members where the challenged feral will shift into their bestial form and the descendant must draw blood, for within the culture the ferals believe, the descendant must draw the blood in which they wish to consume. If the challenger is successful in drawing a sufficient amount of blood to consume then the fight is immediately halted and the descendant victorious, in which the alpha shall allow them to drink the blood of where they were injured and the changes are triggered by the howl of the said alpha.

The next few days after the consumption is what truly matters, for the state of the person’s body begins to change, this transformative state is referred to as a ‘fragmented’, where both their physical and mental state are reformed by the mani. The name comes from the state where their descendent soul is shattered and pieced back together with that of another, their bestial form. The change though causes one of great discomfort, ranging from roaring fevers to delusion; one that must be kept supervised by the members of the pack to keep the fragmented in a stable condition, if left unsupervised then the state of the descendant will deteriorate until they reach the state where their body is by far too weak to support the drastic changes in which their body is going through.

The way in which one could be saved from the transformation of such a consumption is dependant upon how long ago the blood was consumed, if the blood was taken mere minutes ago then one can undergo vomiting before the effects of the blood takes place; though the fragmented stages begin around after thirty minutes after the consumption and the only hope of ridding the blood from this point onward is through open bleeding, causing the alpha’s blood to run out through the open wounds.

Stage Three: Afflicted (Full Moon)

This stage, if the descendant survives the stages of the fragmented process, is the final stage of the lunar cycle; where the descendant will be able to shift into their beastial form for the first time. When the descendant first transforms into their bestial form, they will feel an unquenching hunger for raw red meat; it is advised that when they embrace their first transformation they are kept within the confines of their den as they will have very little control over their lupine state. A danger within themselves, it can be assumed they will act upon their animalistic nature and attack anything that either hold a danger or provokes them. In which why it is best that a new blood stays within the safety of their territory where their pack can control them. In this stage, once control has been found within the new blood, the pack will come together beneath the peak of the full moon and hunt as one; though it is the new blood’s responsibility to use their newly heightened senses to lead the hunt and once a kill has been slaughtered a celebration is held beneath the remaining night of the full moon.

Ritual Red Lines.

~The ritual is strictly cultural, not performing the process will have no effect upon a descendant's transformation. I just wished to include more depth upon the process of changing an individual.

~ Only an alpha can offer the blood needed to carry out a transformation, the blood of a normal feral will have no effect.

~The ritual must occur within the presence of the majority of the pack.

~The Ritual is a three day process, each stage happens per week to mark the changes within the lunar  cycle.

~No other pack member other than the alphas can lead the ritual process.

10/10 would lore again

Rituals make the world go around.

Pass the lore.

[In all seriousness]

Very well written Tork, it brings a lot of meaning and clarity to a section of lore that was not particularly understood. I think that this lore will foster more roleplay as well, as it makes the ritual a sort of event. Major +1 from me!

Thank you for submitting your piece! This will be our final vote until the end of February and due to the amount of lore currently submitted, will take 2 weeks to finish. Expect a verdict here on the 30th/31st.

Unfortunately, due to the large amount of lore pieces (32 or so) that we're reviewing this time around, I am extending the current vote. A verdict will be posted here around the 5th. I'll post here again to keep you updated if anything else arises.
