The Brotherhood of the Sword

image.png.0cd147d46b38dc66f4f6df858b761c5f.png

“Well if these people love their … ‘unique’ statue so much, who am I to not put it back up?” ~Casimir Christophe

Seeing the error in his previous protégé, and the consequences of his choice Casimir decides it would be best to acquire a new protégé via a new system of trial. Christophe says “A Trial by wits, strength, and skill, only a true General and warrior can pass this trial, many will go into these ‘War Games’ but only one leader will come out, and that deadly, brilliant man, will become my heir”. Christrophe challenges all those who dare to join this trial to gather men in the field between Taneth and Morokath where a trial will begin placing the leader’s and their men against other groups.

With war waging over in Skyrim, Christophe sees that the Brotherhood’s military may not be sufficient to stand in war, so he goes to commander’s and demands “Round up as many men as you can, I want at least 3,000 to be drilled and trained so that the Redgaurd remain the true Swordsmen that we are!”.

After scrutinizing the history of Hammerfell in his study, Christophe determined that something must be left behind from the great events that occurred and the civilizations that stood before. Christophe demanded that the Brotherhood’s lands be searched for artifacts of use. Ensuring that nothing stops these explorers, he also ordered the Arrow Battlegroup to defend these explorers and ensure their search is protected.

 The county of Falinesti

                              the_elder_scrolls__flag_of_valenwood_by_

Ulwnis sat in his wooden throne, contemplating what he would make his followers do this year. He was satisfied that education was improving across the country. The history and education classes would make sure that he had loyal soldiers and agents in the future whilst the others would make sure that his populace worked more effectively than before. Working in more advanced crafts and resulting in more money flowing into the pockets of the crown.

Even now the results of the investments into education were starting to be seen. The numbers of skilled craftsmen were quickly increasing in numbers, starting to produce luxury garments and robes, a good resource to export to other countries as well as good trinkets and exotic crops.. Though he suspected that markets of his current trade partners were too small to adequately benefit of this new development. It could be wise to gain more affection with Aurion. They would provide a large market for any produce created in the future in the county and keeping good relations with them would mean that the chance of them protecting his trade routes would remain highly likely and hopefully this would result in the money to keep flowing into the government pockets. And of course the government was him.  Still Ulwnis would be more happy if his entire population was educated. It would be a nice thing to boast about if he ever met any other leaders and he was not entirely sure but it might result in him having the first government to have a completely literate populace. Except maybe the Dwemer though he was not sure.

Still it would be quite an achievement and a strategic boon to him. It would probably result in his population becoming more knowledgeable and able to develop new technologies. Which was something  that Ulwnis was quite eager to see. He believed that if one had technological supremacy over ones enemies that the person with the superior technology had an immense boon and more possibilities to exploit certain situations.  But then Ulwnis's mind shot to his territories. To call them small would be an understatement yet  his sole province was quite rich. But he himself wanted to get more land. This land could aid him in getting more resources for his craftsmen to exploit and export. And export meant more money which was always a good thing in Ulwnis's books. Because who did not wish to have money to further increase one's money, research new technology or employ an army to protect one's self. Or possibly attack but that would be so uncivilized. Attacking another person without prior provocation was heinous, it was always good to have a decent casus belli to seem like the justified party. The party who was acting reasonably.

But as of right now war was not something Ulwnis had on his agenda for a long time. War cost money and money could be more effectively used in the economy or education. Furthermore because of the altogether friendly and close-nit relations in Valenwood military expansion would most assuredly be seen as aggressive and hostile. This would mean that if one had to secure Valenwood he or she would need to act wisely but Ulwnis had not come as far as he had by being unwise. He took as few chances as possible, even now exploiting his people into creating a better economy and becoming smarter so as to employ better jobs and be loyal to him.

Ulwnis then stood up and would go to the prison to see the thieves that had been captured. He had hoped that these thieves might have had a small amount of treasure that could be used for the coffers of the crown but it seemed that they were not leaching of the economy that much. But how could he best use them. Employing them in the territory of other lords would probably provide only limited funds and would become a diplomatic incident if it was discovered he would be behind it. Even if he had plans to get his own agents they would be his own, not the bunch of scum that was now rotting in the dungeons wasting space.

Ulwnis then realized that he had arrived in the dungeons where these thieves had been gathered. Here he saw that the warden was sitting there in his chair, he seemed to be doing some paperwork which Ulwnis approved of, much easier than hearing so many people whine all the time. Much more efficient use of his time. Then he saw that the warden's eyes saw him and immediately saw him straighten and bow at him. "M'lord, I had not expected you"

Ulwnis then put his intent gaze on the man "Indeed it seems you have not warden. How are the prisoners doing ?" Ulwnis said in a semi-interested tone. "It is doing alright, they are becoming physically less fit because of a lack of movement but their body is not suffering because of a lack of nutrition" Ulwnis nodded approvingly at this. It was good to hear that the prisoners were in a good state for what he wanted to do and it was nice to see that this man was somewhat educated and knew how to talk properly. "That is good to hear, you will go to administrator Crannick and bring these prisoners to the quarries. There they will be paying the price for stealing from proper citizens" Once he was finished speaking the warden gave a short bow "As you wish m'lord" Ulwnis nodded affirmatively at this and would then move away back to his personal chambers. He would go to sleep for today, a good amount of sleep was always needed if one was ruling a country.

10 ap is spent settling a province to the east of Falinesti, in an effort to increase the territory for the county and get more land to develop it's natural riches

3 ap is spend for enhancing the education system once more. Getting the final stretch of education enhancement so that each and every citizen of Falinesti is literate and educated.

1 ap is spent sending gifts to the kingdom of Aurion. The hope is that with this relations between the two factions will improve, with indirect suggestions being made that if they were interested Aurion could have a trade agreement with Falinesti. If they would prove agreeable to this they would become a new trade partner of Falinesti and Elden root would be replaced as trade partner.

0 ap the criminals are sent to the gulags, *COUGH* I mean manual labour camps to pay off that which they have stolen from society until the government has determined they have paid off their debt to society. Here they would be properly fed and clothed but they would need to work hard labour in either small local quarries or doing other manual labour tasks.

0 ap is spent on searching through the ranks of the militaries for any person standing out who would prove to be talented enough so as to effectively lead the military. Meanwhilst the group of children that stood out in war-games are kept an eye out for in their careers. To see if any of them would show potential as they grew older and more capable.

A sea of black smoke cloaked the sky as fires roared around Windhelm from the camps circled around the city. Banners clapped against the harsh winds of the coast, though stood strong nonetheless. The colours of Dawnstar, Solitude, and some scattered banners of those from the Forsworn towered above the astronomical amount of tents pitched around the capital. Within the city’s walls, and The Palace of Kings, the military leaders of the armies had gathered in consideration of what should be done in terms of movement through the northern terrain. Several plans were proposed, though none of which couldn't be acted upon before the Jarls knew the positions of the armies that would be confronted. Other plans involved the use of siege equipment, and further training of men in the ranks to operate such equipment.

The considerations of the leaders were heard by the resident Jarl, Oskar, which made the orders to the lesser leaders within the Windhelm army to prepare for battle. With the effort headed by Marshall Olaf, training went underway throughout the camps in order to prepare for the upcoming fights in the near future. A subsequent change was made to the army as the siege equipment completed construction, to which several dozen men were trained and operated the equipment.

As the later months in the year passed, scouts returned with the information regarding the Dunmer armies, which caused further discussions between military leaders in the tactics to be used against the armies in the north.

The County of Haven

Aragorn had looked down from his moved swiftly through the new roads of Haven, he was fresh on the tracks of a pair of bandits would recently killed three merchants. Him and his youngest son were on the move, closing in he could see his son's nerves begin to tick up. Only the age of 15 he began to worry if this would be to much for him. To take his first life. He pushed the thought deep in the back of his mind and refocused on the task at hand. As the were rounding the bend where the reported siting of the bandits were.

They soon darted off into the forest, the smell of smoke filled the pair's noses. He signaled for his son to begin his climb into the tree tops, as he would stick to the lower branches and then to the forest floor. Once they were close enough. The smell of smoke and blood was getting stronger in the nose of Aragorn. The stench disgusted him, the combo of the two would've made him puke if he had not experienced this before during his time as an Imperial agent.

About thirty yards away laid the bandits, indulging in their loot. Drunken and blooded. Aragorn dropped from his lowest branch and begin moving around to a better shot. The group seemed to have been here for sometime, the forest around them had been cleared to the extent of begin able to set up a camp.

As Aragorn, moved around he heard the screams of man coming from the camp, he peaked his head up above the brush quickly drawing an arrow his heart was racing as he scanned the area for his son. He released his arrow, striking a a bandit in lower thigh. Then drew another before moving to another spot. Scouting out the surrounding camp, he then heard another scream. Coming from a different man this time. As he peaked this time, he saw the last bandit looking through the tree tops. Panicked at his friends deaths. The man began darting for the forest, as Aragorn released his arrow he saw another flying in from up above. They both struck at the same time, one in the neck and one in the lower back. Dead on sight. He mumbled a few words under his breath, before breaking through the clearing, he shouldered his bow before bringing out his iron short sword.

He whistled for his son to come from the tree tops, as he observed the scene. Four men, three dead. One shot in the shoulder and eye pinning him to a cart. The other had an arrow stuck center mass, he had been sitting down. Which was the first to go. The one who tried to run who was killed by him and his son's arrow. Which followed suit which left one remaining. The one with the arrow suck into his inner thigh. When he rounded the corner, his son had plunged his dagger deep into the man's eye and he had a wicked grin to him. Aragorn had not seen the evil in such a child in a long time.. He shook his head simply, "That is not our way, I needed him alive. You have disappointed me son. Your bloodlust has gained control of you. Which is something that is special and dangerous." His son, stormed off, not allowing for his father to say another word. He was fuming..

Not much is to be done this year, either than to continue construction of the roadways, and to continue the expansion of the lands, Ra'kazajir is elated to know that his wives bore him two sons, one a Cathay, the other a Cathay-Raht, very good, he visits them in their nursery every now and again but now is some brief business, moving to his room he sits down on his floor-mat, having a table being brought to him as he well, simply states that 20,000 settlers are to go to the region west of the first settlement he made, sending the schematics and plans for the city to his advisors as they went off, the settlers being escorted by 500 men

He also takes this time to send 250 mounted spearmen to scout out his already controlled regions for anything new or any advantages he can use.

Now done for the day he stands, retiring to the nursery where his little cubs are being cared for by their mothers.

Realm of Nifelheim:

Once again Lopt tries for a son. His tired wife could not handle anymore as she has a miscarriage and dies. An unfortunate event, though this does open up the opportunity for Lopt to find another wife. Perhaps this one will be able to bear a son.

Operations against the thralls continue on into the year, though it only seems to be slowing them down. More and more villages fall to these thralls. Only to return after they’ve been driven out. Later in the year thralls begin to appear less often, it seems the joint efforts of the Bretons and the Orcs have beaten them back.

Another mine is constructed, once again mages being used to cut the costs in half. This time they find Corundum, a useful material in reinforcing armor and weapons.

More troops are recruited this year, many of them coming from peasant families. By the end of the year, the Winter Festivities begin in Calastar, thousands of peasants coming out to celebrate. Many lords also hold their own “private” festivities. Lopt is invited to once such “party.”

The Union of Kvatch-Anvil:

More troops are recruited and trained. They wait for Anvil’s legion to arrive. After a few days, both nations armies set off towards Riften, A few weeks later they arrive later engaging the Dunmer army in the Battle of Riften Pass. The battle was brutal as the entire Anvil legion was wiped out. Over 10,000 men lost in the blink of an eye. Survivors tell the horrors they saw. Though the troops of Kvatch held, soon withdrawing to Riften. The battle ended in Status quo. Though Kvatch claims victory, Morrowind also claims victory. All in all, over 11,000 Imperials and 12,000 Dunmer troops were killed in the battle. Marcus was also seriously injured.

With the result of the battle, many of the lesser lords and peasants demand compensation from Kvatch. A few lords already threatening to rise up against both Anvil and Kvatch.

Marcus was seriously injured in the battle, with the mages and priests of Mara he makes a full recovery. Though the dagger pierced his abdomen so he may have digestive issues for the rest of his life.

Duchy of Leyawiin:

The year dawned on a new Leyawiin, already Rimmen and Senchal agreed to the trade deals. Khajiiti caravans entering the city soon after. The Imperial city also agrees to a trade deal. Meanwhile, the Emir of Rimmen contemplates the thought of a defensive pact. Marcus would receive an answer later in the year. Agreeing to both the non-aggression pact and the defensive pact. The Reclaimers also agree to a non-aggression pact for now.

The tolls are introduced and it seems to be effective. It seems almost everybody is happy with paying the tolls for now. However, the Argonian Tribes of Stonefalls, Gideon, and Blackrose seem unhappy. Declaring the bay of Nibenay international waters, which means no one power owns it.

Investments in the economy go well, with its position at the mouth of the river, the fishing business prospers. Though the logging industry is small and mostly underdeveloped it slowly begins to pick up steam as investments allow local business owners to trade with foreign merchants. However, the tanning industry experiences a large growth. As the forests and hills are filled with wild game. All in all, a worthwhile investment.

Many stewards return with many choices for the young duke. Already many of the lesser lords are offering their daughters and sisters to the Duke in hopes of increasing their own prestige as well as their overall position within the Duchy. (I will skype you the choices)

The tribe of the Sarpa:

Many of the chiefs agree with a system to warn them of incoming attacks, the Chief of Stonewastes can provide the building materials for such a task. Though as the meeting continues the subject of the Hist voices comes up, many of the Chieftains worried about what the Hist said. The Chief of Archon stands, raising his voice.

“Brothers, we are all scared of this new threat. But we must deal with the one above us, if we cannot secure the safety of Blackmarsh, then how will we ever defeat this mysterious threat.”

The tent roared in cheers and applause. Soon the Chiefs begin marching out towards Morrowind, Sarpa being assigned with Archeph, Blackrose, and Thorn. While Gideon, Stonefalls, Archon, and Naga head towards the city of Stormhold.

Improvements continue, the road systems expand even further as the dirt paths are replaced with mudstone paths. Much easier to travel. With the dangerous journey through Blackmarsh, many traders seem reluctant to go southwards. Even with the new paths, the fear of another plague still haunts the minds of many. Even then, travel between the holdings of Sarpa is much easier.

More economic investments. Mages are recruited and more light infantry is recruited.

Union of Bruma-Falkreath:

Formally adopting the Bruma Trading Company brought great benefits for the crown. As the revenue from both the tanning industry and the now growing paper industry begins to flow in like never before. Castinus once again using his skills to make trade flow in easier. Already many merchants sign up to trade under its name. (+8 AP for one turn, then 2 AP per turn. Must invest at least 1 AP per turn to keep the company running. This number increases depending on the number of goods produced.)

More investments into the economy.

The investment into the paper industry is successful. Soon high-quality paper begins being shipped out by the Bruma Trading Company, this time with another merchant leading it. This time led by Vialfre Vanette, she is a successful merchant that was stationed in Chim before moving to Bruma in search of better opportunities. Though she also has fierce competition as an Altmer merchant by the name of Corrirnil Larethael also is producing paper.

Troops are sent to protect the trade routes between Chorral and Bruma. Strengthening the bond between the two.

More troops join the Legion, soon they begin a mass training exercise. Once again training in the fields, the mountains, the hills, the forests. However many candidates show leadership ability. A majority of them being cavalry officers, a few of them proposing radical ideas. One such candidate is Zenone Felance. He proposes a new way of cavalry combat. Currently, the light cavalry is equipped with either sword and shield or a small spear. He proposes a large lance and for the cavalry to be heavily armored.

Reports come back to Falkreath and Bruma as it seems the Dunmer army has been engaged by the forces of Anvil and Kvatch. Severely weakening the Dunmer troops. However, if the Dunmer were smart, reinforcements would already be coming in from Morrowind.

Vidinia’s reinforcements finally arrive. Soon he calls all the legates to his war tent to explain the battleplan.

Kingdom of Orsinium:

The Orcish contingent moves out, within a few weeks march they meet Solitudes forces. Together they march eastwards towards Dawnstar. Setting up camp nearby, scouts report a large Dunmer army heading westwards, towards Dawnstar. Numbers range between 14,000-24,000. Though they can’t know for sure. For now, the Orcs wait for the Dunmer troops.

Anti-Vampire activities end as the Thralls finally stop coming. For now, the peace is restored.

More troops are recruited.

Temple refurbishments are finally completed as the temple is fully reconstructed and renovated. Agrum once again hears the voice of Malacath. Congratulating him, pleased with his performance Malacath offers Agrum his blessing.

The settlement is finally completed. A glorious day for Orsinium!

Many influential clans offer their daughters for marriage. Hopefully gaining favor with Orsinium.

The Brotherhood of the Sword:

The genital statue is reconstructed, with the statue being constructed of stone there is no possibility of it being destroyed. Once again, a giant orgy surrounds the statue. The troops once again being sent in to disperse the peasants. Maybe the giant statue is magical.

Christophe selects his new protege, Tona. A female warrior skilled in all forms of combat and a great commander. As well as an adept mage in destruction and illusion. An excellent choice, however many of the lesser lords have doubt if a woman can really lead the Brotherhood.

Nobody in Skyrim or Hammerfell answer the call for a skilled military tactician. Though some recommended searching in Cyrodiil or Highrock.

The explorers return with only a few artifacts. Though a discovery they made is of an old Aldmeri Dominion camp. Though it is overrun with undesirable creatures.

The Imperial Remnant:

The economy expands, allowing for more room for growth. (+1 AP per turn)

Fox lair.

The County of Falinesti:

A new settlement is established, in its current state the only goods it can produce is food and lumber. Though if expanded it has the potential to produce much more.

The final stretch is completed as the entirety of the population is literate and educated. Some already making innovations, mostly in farming and agriculture. Though some in the military begin proposing radical ideas. As the Bosmer are well known for their archery perhaps there is a way to improve upon that idea.

The gift is well received, though Aurion is reluctant to trade with Falinesti. In the end, they decline the trade agreement.

The Gulags expand, the criminals working there provide a very cheap labor force. (+1 AP for 3 turns)

The search begins within the militaries ranks to find a capable leader. Though the problem is, a majority of the troops are rough and rowdy men. Rather getting drunk than participating in any drills. The officers are the same. With no threats to worry about the military has been slacking. Though the children who stood out seem to outperform even the professional military officers.

Jarldom of Windhelm:

War has come, with a  rousing speech made by Oskar the troops head out. With two catapults accompanying them they meet the forces of Dawnstar and Solitude. Scouts indicate the Dunmer army a few days march away from Dawnstar, the Jarl of Solitude proposes a plan. With the thick forests and snow, he suggests the Forsworn troops when they arrive begin ambushing the Dunmer. While Solitude and Dawnstar set up defenses. Meanwhile, Windhelm will be positioned in hills, to ambush the Dunmer army when they lay siege to Dawnstar.

While Oskar is away a courier informs him of grave news. His wife, died while giving childbirth. Unfortunately, the child died as well.

The County of Haven:

Economic investments are finally completed. The grand marketplace is constructed, with its construction trade flows into Haven. (+1 AP)

The lumber mill and sawmill is built, with the abundance of trees, it begins to grow rapidly. (+3 for 3 turns)

The tasks are completed without a problem.

Many marksmen sign up, wishing to see glory and fame. Though they care little for the war against the Dunmer. They will take the opportunity to fight for honor and fame.

The troops sent out to protect the merchants are successful. No raider dares to attack any caravans now.

A letter comes back to Haven. It seems that the Thieves guild has been taken in by another nation. Though the letter does not state who it is. They are intrested in expanding their operations in Haven though.

Jarldom of Riften:

Troops are trained, war is here. Will Riften hold? Or will it be swept into the dustbin of history?

Marcus Marius Orentius shows up to the Riften gates battered and bloodied. He is quickly taken in by the troops and sent to the temple of Mara. His legion camped outside, waiting for the news of their lord.

Soon he is fully healed by the priests and priestesses. A few days later envoys from Whiterun and Falkreath come to Riften, saying the armies of both will arrive in a few short days. Finally reinforcements.

The Kraviran Emirate:

A new settlement is constructed, aided by the new highway system construction goes smoothly. The settlers are protected and Kraviran expands. The Kraviran highways are almost completed.

The troops come back empty-handed, all they could find is sand and more sand.

In the city of Dune a radical element forms, against the Kraviran Emirate these radicals wish to liberate Dune. Soon they begin to attack guards and troops. Destroying any Kraviranian caravans coming into the city.

The Citystate of Chorral:

Chorral expands eastwards, claiming a new town.

World Events:

The Altmer expand, claiming provinces in Hammerfell and create a small colony on the southern coast of Valenwood. Soon colonizing any island near them. It seems that the King of Alinor wants to expand his domain into the main continent of Tamriel.

The Dunmer march towards Dawnstar, meanwhile Dunmer troops are repositioned near the border of Cyrodiil and Blackmarsh. Reinforcements come in from Morrowind using the pass. The Imperial Reclaimer's troops finally arrive. Soon the battle plan is set. The Reclaimers and Skingrad will move their troops towards Narsis, while Bruma and another contingent of Reclaimer troops will move towards Kragenmoor. If the two cities are captured they will move southwards towards Mournhold.

War breaks out in Elsweyr as the Emirate of Cornith and The Emirate of the Peliates declare war. Before long a battle takes place near Cornith resulting in a Phyyric victory for the Peliates. Cornith turns to its neighbors asking for assistance.

For now, the Vampire thralls seem to have been defeated. Though many villagers and townsfolk are missing.

Of the coast of Blackmarsh, the strange ships appear once more. More of them this time.

“Death before dishonor” -Marcus Marius Orientius

Marcus was in the Rift now. Angry at himself for the loss of Tiberius Soon he began writing letters to be sent back to Kvatch with orders. He had also received word of the nobles and peasants being angry at him for the loss of their men. His first order of business was to recruit reinforcements for his army. After giving word to recruit the men, they were to march north with the siege equipment and regroup with his forces. With the nordic generals arriving they would want to discuss the actions and who would lead the campaign to Morrowind. Marcus was not looking forward to this seeing as he was recently wounded and worried that the nords would not respect an Imperial. Back In Colovia charcoal production was to begin along the river the second settlement. Charcoal could be a money maker and Marcus is interested to find out.

 The county of Falinesti

                              the_elder_scrolls__flag_of_valenwood_by_

Ulwnis sat inside his wooden throne, seemingly calm and collected, a beacon of stability. But on the inside he was fuming, it seemed that his military was made up of INCOMPETENTS. It seemed that whilst he had focused his eyes on improving the literacy of his subjects and improving the economy the army had slacked of because of a lack of threats. This would not do. But how would he solve the issue that was the question.

He doubted whether he could turn these men into proper soldiers once more, a tendency to become drunk would mean a lack of discipline in one's nature. He would need to make sure that these soldiers were replaced but how would he do that. Ulwnis contemplated this, maybe he could find a dungeon and shove these men inside of it. If he was lucky he got a dungeon with the loot inside of it, if he was even more lucky and all of them died. And even if some survived they could easily be discharged from the military though that would leave a whole bunch of unruly workers. Maybe send them to the gulags too if they survived. Yes he could do that, maybe they would in such a way provide more benefits than they had done before. Maybe the extra profit they brought could be used to fund a new army, one better equipped and train to a much higher standard.

But first he would need to make sure he had a loyal cadre of soldiers that were more capable than these ones. It would be a wise course of action to use new graduates from the school. They would at least be loyal because of history and culture classes and he could make sure that they stayed disciplined. Maybe sending the other soldiers to their deaths and to the gulag would also provide a good example of what would happen if they slacked off and became like them. Yes that could work, a triple win situation. 1. He got a dungeon if any were found 2.  his military would be purged of incompetence 3. It would serve as a reminder to what can happen.

But now to more pleasing issues, the schools they were producing bright students, ready to do innovation for the cause of the county. And he had gotten an audience with one of the students who had a most enlightening idea that Ulwnis had to smile at. Sometimes he just loved to see people discovering new ways to benefit him seemingly out of nowhere. But this student he had this idea that some kind of textile making workshop could be made. Powered by a small river it would with the help of that power make huge amounts of cloth from cotton. It was truly a radical but most certainly intriguing idea. If pulled of properly the revenue it could make was incredible.

Ulwnis then allowed him a small smile, soon all internal issues would be dealt with and then he could prepare himself for what the world would throw at him. Or would it be the Alter as Ulwnis knew that one day they would come and try to regain their former dominion, but he would be waiting, preparing himself to destroy them when they tried that and to make sure none would interfere when he gained dominion over Valenwood

Actions

10 ap is spent researching a water-powered textile mill. The hope is that the force of the power will cause movement to be generated, this movement would result in work benches weaving textile, or more specifically cotton into fabric. The hope is that with this invention mass amounts of clothes can be fabricated on a scale never seen before. With this project the help of expert weavers is employed to make sure their knowledge on weaving is properly used as well. Furthermore, men and/or women skilled with machinery or logical processing would be put to work to help in this project.

It is also made sure that the information of this technology will not be leaked to other nations like with agriculture by making sure that the people working on this project are loyal and loyal private security protects the research rather than drunk soldiers.

4ap is spent training 3000 light infantry. It is made sure that these soldiers come from the schools with history and culture classes and are for now held in a separate unit from the old army. Seeing as it is quite ineffective and Ulwnis does not want this new generation of soldiers to be affected by the same issues as the old one.

Legatus Agnippr the Calm (leading first and second legions)

The Bruma Trading Company proved to be a great success, bringing in lots of profit for the state as many merchants scramble to sign up for it. A bi-monthly meeting with the most influential traders in the company is set up, in order to allow the members to voice their ideas and opinions for the company moving forward. But first of all, the paper industry had a fair ways to go yet, and a head of the industry still had to be chosen. Both Vialfre Vanette and Corrirnil Larethael receive guarded audiences with the Countess, where they're interviewed and each declare their past successes in trading in order to see who is best qualified. A decision will be made by the end of the year.

Looking ahead at the importance of more products, and how the hold imports most of its metals, 12 Alteration mages are conscripted from the college of Nifelheim. Soon enough, Bruma will have its first ore mine. 12 restoration mages are also hired from the same college, in order to be trained in formation to heal and embolden fighting troops. (8AP, Nifelheim gets 4AP)

Meanwhile, news of the battle near Riften begins to filter back through the Pale Pass, as do the Kvatch wounded and deceased heading back home. The soldiers are given provisions, blessings and food and drink by the citizens of the town. Seeing this, Lycinia orders the raising of more troops to support the first and second legions, with the establishment of a third. 500 heavy cavalry (6AP), 1000 Heavy Infantry (6AP) and 2000 Light Infantry (4AP) are recruited and combined with the auxiliary to create the third legion. They are to be trained extensively throughout the year, before setting out eastwards to reinforce the men on campaign. Zenone Felance is given command of the legion, and his ideas of lances and heavier armor are considered. Soon, the light cavalry in this legion begin clothing their horse with leather armor, and carry a sword, board shield and a longer, heavier spear (if required to scout or perform reconnaissance, they'd carry only the sword, and take off the horse's armor). The heavy cavalry are equipped with iron or chainmail horse armor, a sword and lance.

Third Legion (after training is completed):

2000 Heavy Infantry

2000 Light Infantry

575 Skirmishers

500 Light Cavalry

500 Heavy Cavalry

12 Mages (Restoration)

Meanwhile, with the Reclaimers finally showing up at the border to Morrowind, Agnippr proposes a counter argument to Vidinia's plans. Rather than Bruma and some of the Reclaimer legions heading straight for Kragenmoor, they should first head north to intercept any Dunmer reinforcements heading for the pass to Riften. This would minimize the bloodshed in Riften and ensure the Dunmer siege fails, whilst also clearing the way for the Kvatch and Rift troops to move forth into Morrowind. This means more friendly troops in enemy territory, plus it stops those troops from potentially attacking the siege camp at Kragenmoor. After the battle, the men would move south and besiege the city and continue with Vidinia's plan. (Skype)

The light infantry continue scouting near the Riften pass and further out, attempting to find any reinforcements and size up their forces.

With the warriors away, the towns and hamlets are rather quiet, after weeks of relentless training and drilling. The people continued to go about their daily lives without issue, the growth of wealth accompanied by the "peace" doing its part. Many leagues north in Morrowind, Swamp-in-Head, Thief-of-Tails and Broke-his-Claws are marching in front of a column of warriors. This column of heavily armed and armored warriors, little in number is openly marching through the landscape. After paying a few visits to some Dunmer hamlets, they'd expect that the Dunmer would send forces to dispatch them.

A bait and a trap, to show the arrogant Dunmer where true warfare is at, once the Dunmer send a force to engage the Sarpa column, they would be set upon from all sides by HALF of the other Argonian troops. If the Dunmer send reinforcements to the potentially ensuing battle, and join it, the remaining HALF of the Argonian forces would jump in, surrounding the newcomers as well. In both cases, salvos of missiles, arrows, blowpipe darts would be showered on the undefended backs of the Dunmer forces, before the ambushers would charge in. In all this time, the Heavy Argonian Forces, all Sarpa, are to hold their ground, using a solid formation, with thick Guar hide shields and lances. Layers upon layers.

Duchy of Leyawiin

*The choices the stewards had returned with intrigued Marcus Aemilius. Each had their relative merits, with all but one being at the prime age for marriage. However, Marcus Aemilius' eye was drawn more to the eldest of the four choices: Ciissinia Vidinia, relative of the Grand Consul in the Imperial City. Such a marriage would provide great security for Leyawiin, and be a first step at gaining influence in the traditional capital of Cyrodiil. As such, Marcus Aemilius rides north to the Imperial City to meet Ciissinia, also sending a message in advance to Grand Consul Vidinia asking for his permission to court the bachelorette.

The economic investment of last year is compounded upon with a smaller, yet still sizable amount of investments made into the local economy of Leyawiin. 1,000 Heavy Infantry also begin recruitment and training. These troops would join the Legio I "Leiavinium", with 1,000 Light Infantry being placed into a newly established permanent guard force which would stay in the city of Leyawiin itself.

**The Argonian lords who had raised issue with the toll are re-assured that the toll is not placed on ships in the Niben Bay (or the Topal Bay, in case they were confused), but on ships moving through Leyawiin's territory of the Lower Niben River. Regardless, Marcus Aemilius begins implementing the next phase of the Lower Niben Toll plan, which had already been rather successful.

***Two large bridges are planned out and begin construction, one at the mouth of the Lower Niben into Topal Bay, and one at the mouth of the Lower Niben into Niben Bay, both of which of course being large enough to allow ships to pass beneath. The primary aim of this would be to secure the economic benefits the toll was bringing,a and hopefully increase them through a multitude of ways. Not only would these bridges facilitate the collection of the toll placed on ships going up the river, but they would also greatly facilitate trade and transport going across it - that is to say, mainly from Elsweyr to Blackmarsh, and vice versa. What's more, a very minor toll would be placed on trade crossing the bridge, excepting those with which Leyawiin had a trade deal. There would also be the minor benefit of assisting in future settlement across the Niben. These bridges would be each have a garrison of 250 Light Infantry to both enforce the toll and secure the bridge, the 500 being taken from the newly established permanent guard force.

****With military action eventually being likely in the long-term, Marcus Aemilius begins to see the need for a proper commander to lead his forces. While Marcus Aemilius held himself to be a good administrator and diplomat, he was far too lacking in military experience to be an effective general when rough came to tumble. Hence, he begins to search the officer corps of both the Leyawiin Legion and the Border Watch cavalry cohort for an experienced and well-respected commander.
