mitto 2307 Share Posted June 8, 2018 Kuila Dust Preface Kuila Shards are a naturally occuring formation in areas of high concentrations of natural life, these can often be found in overgrown forests or caves however rare in number. On the deconstruction of a shard the majority of the mass is reduced to a dust like substance, noted similar to thin ice. The remnants are what have gone on to be known as Kuila Crystals, the Crystals themselves already being documented as having strange inherent properties. What was thought to be considered simple waste Kuila Dust, the byproduct of the breakdown of Shards into Crystals also share some of the properties with Crystals. The Dust itself would appear lifeless at first, however as discovered through experimentation by adding an adhesive to the dust to bind it together it reveals its application. Substances bound in Kuila Dust do not have a reservoir, nor do the have the same connection via the bridge as Crystals do. However, if a Druid is in physical contact with Kuila bound materials they will glow on contact whilst casting. This is what appears to be the only effect of these substances, however as a result unlike Crystals a user isn’t bound to one limited crystal. As Kuila bound substances do not bind, a Druid is capable of having an amount limited to their supply of dust. Practical Application Other applications are possible, so long as the dust itself is bound via an adhesive substance. These are the only currently known practical applications. Smithing When Kuila Dust is cast in smithing, it causes the metal to glow if the user casts whilst in physical contact with it. Tattooing Tattoo ink laced with fine Kuila Dust will glow when a Druid casts, however the Druid themselves can only activate it. The Dust near the surface of the skin will fade off in healing, therefore direct contact with the skin via another Druid would not be able to penetrate deep enough into the skin to activate the glow. Kuila Resin Kuila Resin can be created through the combination of any clear polymer and dust, which can then be used in processes like woodworking in order to create treasurable items such as staves, necklaces and rings. All as mentioned have to be in contact to activate. This can also be used for wooden limbs. OOC Note Spoiler Unlike Kuila Crystals themselves which are considerably rarer due to their low shard yield, Kuila Dust would be fairly common to obtain meaning no special LT observation or moderation would be required for the access and use of Kuila Dust. Still be reasonable, though.
