The History of Kal'Arab

The Beggining.

The story of the snow dwarves begans in the kingdom of Kal'Arab, the kingdom who was ruled at the moment by Hekkaes Anvilaxe. The kingdom took three years to be built by Hekkaes's familly which now lives in the kingdom aswell. The kingdom itself is the place where the race started appearing. Throughout the many generations the snow dwarves began to have its on characteristics that would differentiate them from other dwarven race.

The snow dwarves kids would be born with a low body temperature due the outside conditions as everyone goes into hunting to bring food to the table. They would be born with a slightly more pale skin from which will become creole in the late 70's of his life. The baby's hair would be white like snow, typically blue eyes or green and white frozen eyebrows. After one year the baby should be grown up his eyebrows wouldn't be frozen like the beggining and they would start the development of a white beard. The beard would be more thicker then the average dwarf and hard to hard to shave.

After the dwarf's 70th birthday, they would go into the wild in the search for a natural friend. They would be bounded to have a animal friend which would live with him one elven week and at the end, the animal that was his friend once would become his protector.

If they wouldn't come back with a animal, after one elven week they would be send again. In total three chances are accorded to each dwarf, if he still doesn't get his a friend he would not be able to climb up the social scale towards a high rank.

The Challenge.

The challenge itself is not meant to improve the connection between the nature. The first person to ever have the challenge was Hekkaes Anvilaxe himself. It began as a free day for him which became the day when he founded a injured eagle in the snow almost frozed. He took the injured eagle and took care of it for one elven week which then made the other citizens do the same thing.

After a few weeks, it became a normal tradition in the city of Kal'Arab which after that became a challenge for every snow dwarf.

Magic.

After the first challenge, snow dwarfs have the possibility to chose a voidal element to be taught by one of the teachers. Every snow dwarf is obligated to chose two voidal elemnts, one would be water evocation and the other one would be up to the dwarf.

The teachings shall be taught in Kal'Arab's academy by another snow dwarf teacher. After they learned the magic wanted they would have the chance to become teachers or not, becoming a teacher might give them a position in the council aswell.

Kal'Arab.

The kingdom of Kal'Arab was built on the shoulders of four other dwarves besides Hekkaes Anvilaxe. Balin Anvilaxe, the Right Hand, Jakhatir Irongut Anvilaxe, the General and Kraggomi Anvilaxe, the Diplomat. The city would have been never built if Hekkaes Anvilaxe wouldnt have went into a journey to learn about himself better. While in the journey, Hekkaes Anvilaxe sat down under a tree to write on his journal. It didn't took too much, when snow started falling from above. He didn't know at first what was going on but as he stood more under the tree, more snow would fall on him. He then goes in front of the tree and looks on the mountain from where the snow came from. As he was looking he saw a big avalanche coming right towards him, he didn't thinked twice and started running towards the mountain's opening. He sat there for 4 days, the resources would start dissappearing and he knew it was time to do something.

He then sends three birds calling for help. The first bird was for his little brother Kraggomi Anvilaxe which was in Kal'Tarak. The second bird was sent to his cousin Jakhatir Irongut Anvilaxe who was in Holm. The last bird was sent in the northen side of Atlas, that bird would have the following message "Oi Hekkaes Anvilaxe am stuck ento duh snow frum a mountain. Oi call fo' help anyone who sees duh message. Contact fastleh moi lil' bruddah Balin Anvilaxe and Jakhatir Irongut Anvilaxe! Call fo' help cuz moi resources are fo' another taveir or prir days. -Signed Hekkaes Anvilaxe."

Two days passed, and Hekkaes Anvilaxe was left without any resource. No birds came back so he went to hunt animals and find a source of water. In his search for food he spots two possible targets. A small rabbit and a deer. He choses to strike at the deer so he will have food for another few days. He throws his blade into the deer, the blade would be stuck on the deer's eye. After that he goes to find a source of water but he was lucky that day because a few meters away there was a frozen lake, from where he successful gets water. Another two days passed by and Hekkaes Anvilaxe started building a shelter inside the mountain. It was enough space for two persons. A elven week later, his little brother Balin Anvilaxe, Kraggomi Anvilaxe, Gerald Anvilaxe and his cousin Jakhatir Irongut Anvilaxe showed up at the mountain while searching for him. Hekkaes Anvilaxe refused returning home, instead, he told them he was going to build his home in the mountain. After they talked, it was decided by them to live with Hekkaes Anvilaxe in the mountain.

The kingdom of Kal'Arab was built in almost 14 elven week, the date when it was exactly built was 7th of The Deep Cold, 1671. After declaring the kingdom's independence Hekkaes Anvilaxe would take his time to rest for another elven week.

Features.

The snow dwarf kind would have the average height 3ft-5.7ft, the height comes from their struggle to travel in the snow, who in a few years made them change their own bodies. They would have a well constructed body, white hair, blue or green eyes and white eyebrows. The would be still connected with the mountain dwarf race that will make them grow a big white beard, a very thick one, that would be really hard to shave, they would let it grow as it stops growing after some time.

You cant just put snow in-front of something and call it a new race. Its a culture that's been around for less than a millennia. Snow elves were a mistake, don't do this.

There's no reason for this to be a new race. And I don't understand how a new race would suddenly start from your character just because they started living in a new environment. I believe your best route is to make a dwarven clan. You don't need your dwarves to be 'special'. You can have identifying characteristics (White hair and blue eyes) like other clans do. For example, Frostbeards have black hair and blue eyes.

You don't need your dwarves to have magic 'in their blood'. It's just unnecessary and comes off as you trying to give you and your friends augmented abilities. As you said, your character knows evocation already. Just make a clan and teach what you know to the dwarves under you. You don't need some special bloodline that's enhanced in voidal magic.

The suggested height is preposterous. There's no reason for you to not stay in the regular limitations of the dwarven race.  A 5'7 dwarf is basically just a human with augmented strength and durability. It completely goes against the idea and the fantasy of the dwarven race and I don't see any logical reason as to why dwarves would grow taller in a snowy environment. Never mind the fact that evolution doesn't happen over the course of one lifetime.

Solution: Make a dwarven clan that has white hair and blue eyes. Go live in a snowy area. Teach your clan members your magic.

You’re  better suited making a clan, this isn’t how races are made , and there is no reason to even make one .

No he means snow humans , get it right

I would also not try and create lore , yet alone a whole new race , 2 months into the server. Explore the massive amounts of lore we already have

I think you have a nice attempt for your first time submitting lore. you might be better off writing a culture for snow dwelling dwarves ?

I don't personally see this being more than a very niche bit of lore. I think you should legitimate start small maybe start by making a little culture and all that making your village settle in and then in a map or two if your still around go for the big guns and make it a race but at this point it's so new, and the whole everything around it is incredible new that I think this is a poor choice.

This Lore has been denied. While this is an improvement over your conceptual pitch that you posted earlier, we do not believe this is enough for a fleshed out subrace nor do we see the need to add a “snow dwarf” subrace. This works much better as a culture for a mountain dwarf or other such dwarf. There’s nothing preventing you from rp’ing it as a culture, so long as you don’t RP the non-approved changes (e.g. limiting a dwarf to only 2 magics, as any dwarf can pursue magic the same as anyone else can).
