Sagittarian99 6 Share Posted August 17, 2018 (edited) { THE SEVEN YEAR’S WAR } The family-friendly historical forum roleplay game of empire-building and world domination The year is 1750, two years after the War of the Austrian Succession. The Austrian Empire has been deprived of the valuable province of Silesia, a humiliation which its Empress, Maria Teresa von Hapsburg cannot forgive despite her victory in the issue of succession. Frederick II of Prussia has had his resources doubled by the conquest of Silesia, yet his state is threatened by an ever-increasing number of enemies who seek to cut his militaristic and young state to heel. Meanwhile, France under Louis XV juggles its involvement in Germany, the Netherlands and its growing colonial empire in a gamble to dominate Europe. In control of a powerful navy and its vast colonies, Great Britain under the rule of George II of Hanover and his Parliament stands poised to establish its dominance over the seas- and with it, the world. All the while, the Russian Empire under the rule of Empress Elizabeth, having remained neutral in the Succession, remains a potent third party whose involvement in these affairs might prove decisive. The foundations for the great overseas empires of the 19th century lay in the fates of these Great Powers, whose role in the conflict to come will prove decisive for world history. (Sorry for poor image quality, the full res version will be on the RP post) Though any nation is up for grabs, I highly recommend choosing to play as/for one of the following: Great Powers PRUSSIA AUSTRIA BRITAIN FRANCE [Reserved, subject positions open] RUSSIA [Reserved, subject positions open] Other countries of interest Spain [reserved, subject positions open] Poland-Lithuania Sweden Denmark-Norway Dutch Republic Mughal Empire Subjects: Players may also apply as “subjects” of other countries. This might be a colonial region (Thirteen Colonies, New France, etc.), trade organization (EIC, etc.) and even ministers or generals in government administrations (Seydlitz, Anson, the Dauphin of France, Madame du Pompadour, etc.) Subjects must coordinate OOC with their head of state, and can have a myriad of abilities and influences on your state's success. (example: A crown-prince general could be significant for his father's rule of the kingdom, in military reforms, coups, and in controlling campaigns and battles). Please follow this broad format in your application: -Country name: -Head of State:* *if applying as subject, simply state your character's name. -Flag/Portrait: -Country description: -Character description: Here's the Discord link, where we will communicate OOC. Open to both players and interested parties: https://discord.gg/PdNTh9 Have fun! Edited August 29, 2018 by Sagittarian99 derp spelling

I'd love to play a Native American faction like the Mohicans or Hurons That is absolutely an option- all colonies and theaters of war across the world will be represented. We can talk about how your RP would work as an Indian nation later, but I figure it should not be a problem (esp. in matters of war).

. 6 Share Posted August 17, 2018 (edited) HAPSBURG EMPIRE The Austrian Hapsburg Empire had been a major power in Central and Eastern Europe for three centuries, gaining land through cunning diplomacy and war, and holding dominion over the Holy Roman Empire. The Hapsburg Empire was unlike the great European powers of the west or Russia as it did not have a colonial empire, but what it lacked in this regard it made up for in the web of people across Europe who had ties to the Hapsburg Empire, and being the protector of Christians in the Ottoman Empire as a result of their many wars between the two. Maria Theresa, by the Grace of God, Empress of the Romans, Queen of Hungary, of Bohemia, of Dalmatia, of Croatia, of Slavonia, of Galicia, of Lodomeria, etc.; Archduchess of Austria; Duchess of Burgundy, of Styria, of Carinthia and of Carniola; Grand Princess of Transylvania; Margravine of Moravia; Duchess of Brabant, of Limburg, of Luxemburg, of Guelders, of Württemberg, of Upper and Lower Silesia, of Milan, of Mantua, of Parma, of Piacenza, of Guastalla, of Auschwitz and of Zator; Princess of Swabia; Princely Countess of Habsburg, of Flanders, of Tyrol, of Hainault, of Kyburg, of Gorizia and of Gradisca; Margravine of Burgau, of Upper and Lower Lusatia; Countess of Namur; Lady of the Wendish Mark and of Mechlin. Maria Theresa had risen to the throne of the Austrian Empire after the death of her father, Charles VI, using the pragmatic sanction. She would later be involved in the war of Austrian succession, losing the province of Silesia to the Kingdom of Prussia. Though losing this war, she was able to solidify her control over the realm which she had inherited. Edited August 17, 2018 by Dex

thesmellypocket 1839 Share Posted August 17, 2018 (edited) -Country name: The Honourable East India Company -Head of State: Major-General the Right-Honourable Lord Clive. A brilliant politician and general who rose from a minor gentry family, he is a controversial figure back in Blighty for his often ruthless tactics and insatiable hunger for enlarging Britain's Indian possessions. He often acts independently of London and is not afraid to do so. After all, if he and the Company were restricted in every step by fat old Tories and whiny Whigs in Parliament, they wouldn't have conquered so much as an acre of Indian land. -Flag/Portrait: -Country description: The East India Company, with ruthless force and financial genius, has secured control over a number of ports in India, along with most of Bengal (Excepting Plassey and Chandernagore.) But, whilst having secured a strong foothold on the subcontinent, Britain is just one power among many in the land. The talking heads in the Commons may be content for this to remain so - so long as the tea and textile imports continue, trade flourishes - but for Clive, that is not the case. The Company, to secure Britain and the Company in the land, must focus on building an Indian Empire - a vast territorial expansion secured through the military genius of Clive and his lieutenant, Stringer Lawrence, a man with a wealth of experience who knows the ways of India... -Character description: See 'Head of State.' SuperKeziak 8 Share Posted August 17, 2018 As the Russian player, I'd love to have a lot of people play characters. If I could have the head of the Senate and the army that would be great. Or even someone to command the soon-to-be Russian colonies.

Alfonso X el Sabio 19 Share Posted August 18, 2018 (edited) E S P A Ñ A The Spanish Empire, while not retaining its former glory which it achieved under the Hapsburgs, still remains a potent player in European Affairs, with a vast and rich array of colonies abroad in the New World and Asia. The Spanish Maritime Empire consists of various lands all rich in minerals, furs, and other wealths. This resulted in Spanish Ships being a dominating force in the seas, however the same cannot be said in Europe. Spanish Dominance over Europe ended in the beginning of the 18th century when the inbred Charles II died, initiating a Succession war in the Spanish Empire over who would assume the throne. The result of the war was the Treaty of Utrecht, in which the Spanish Empire was separated with its European territories, with the lands of Sardinia, Naples, Sicily, Parma, The Netherlands, and Milan to Austria and Sicily, and Gibraltar and Menorca to Great Britain. The most important change was that Phillip of Bourbon, Grandson of the King of France, assumed the throne as King of Spain, and steered the country in a different direction then his Hapsburg Predeccessors, initiating a series of reforms to model the Spanish Nation on the French Kingdom. However, in the Austrian War of Succession, Spain engaged in a long colonial war with Britain in the New World and in various theatres in the Medditeranean, which resulted in the transfer of the Kingdoms of Naples and Sicily back to the Spanish Bourbons. All in all, the Spanish Empire is the largest colonial empire in the world, and certainly retains power in the geopolitics of Europe. EL REY Ferdinand VI was born on 1743, and is a relatively new monarch, crowned simply 2 years ago. As a child, he received no love from his stepmom, who, only showed affection for her own children, and did not get a lot of political information as a result as his stepmother often controlled his father, the King. He grew up very shy, and melancholic, only being soothed by the sounds of opera from his favorite singer, Farinelli. He had very low self confidence, and as a result he was subject to puppetization by advisors, which is what happened with the Prime Minister, the Marquis of Ensenada, and Jose de Carvajal. They both battle each other for influence to the king, being pretty much bipolar in terms of ideologies and beliefs. He was devoted to his Portuguese wife, whom shared his devotion, and she was also an influence. Despite enacting the goals of others around him, he himself had goals, such as modernizing the country, and expanding the military.
